Anyways! Provided you're not busy (take however much time you need, whether that be a week or whatever), I have thought of another Tokyorev request since I've been rewatching the anime. There is a staggering lack of m!reader x Rindou on this platform, so therefore, here is my request.

How about m!reader x Rindou (romantic/fluff, whatever) where reader is a lesser known delinquent in Roppongi (2005 for reference) who constantly gets into fights, and winds up fighting Rindou and Ran. I'll leave it up to you if he wins or loses, but basically he catches Rindou's eye. I'm trying not to make my requests super detailed so I can leave space for creative liberties.

🎐 you were a rambunctious little shit growing up, and it was to nobody’s surprise you ended up roaming the streets of roppingi, picking fights with anyone you could see

🎐 you were smart though, choosing to grief on people you knew you could take on and people who were interested in fighting. you had no interest in bashing innocent passerby’s and people who could clearly stomp you into the concrete.

🎐 boxing and martial arts was something your parents had put you into as a way to vent out all that energy (it didn’t work, you still beat the shit outta the kids in your school), so you had both a good technique and a strong fist whenever you threw yourself into battle a fight.

🎐 this all changed the day you encountered the haitani brothers, rindou and ran.

🎐 their reputation was nothing exaggerated, and their eye for fashion was also nothing short of perfection. they were flashy and had total control over roppongi before they were even adults.

🎐 you never thought you’d have to end up laying hands on either of them, let alone both at the same time, until last week.

🎐 you were much less known then the brothers, however that doesn’t mean you didn’t have friends and alliances on the streets. you were a fun and energetic character, who had no problem stepping up if someone worth saving needed help. and that gave you a good reputation between the other lower gangs in the area.

🎐 so, when you saw the haitani brothers beating the shit out of your friends forehead, you wasted no time jumping in.

🎐 it was a shitty battle, with a 2v1 (your friend was fucked UP, bro was no help) , however your martial arts techniques prepared you for rindou’s quick movements, and your boxing provided a good punch to his pretty face.

🎐 in the end, it was clear you were going to lose. you bet if only one were there you might’ve stood a chance, however on the verge of passing out, decided to accept your fate and hope you don’t end up dead.

🎐 however you find that as you collapse, you watch them both walk off into the distance.

🎐 they weren’t gonna torture you ? or break your bones ?

🎐 if you were a little more conscious, you might’ve been able to hear the conversation between the two brothers, however you knocked tf out not a minute after.

“so why are we letting that boy off the hook? he jumped into a fight that wasn’t his” ran curiously asked his little brother.

“to jump into a fight you know your gonna lose is honorable, however if he does it again then we can shatter his arms!” rindou perclaims, a flushed face that clearly wasn’t coming from the fight he just fought.

as ran looks back at the two bodies behind him, he thinks to himself…

nah i’m kidding ofc bro speaks his mind.

“nah, we’ve beaten up plenty of dudes doing the same thing. you just think that kid back there is hot huh.”

“ran what the FUCK-”

What really pisses me off is people insisting the break-up doesn't make sense as its own thing when it's so clearly in-character for both of them

Buck has been in a serious relationship with a man for six months but hasn't said the word bisexual. We only know that's His Label bc Oliver Stark calls him bisexual outside of the show. Buck has had what seemed to be a perfect fairytale relationship with Tommy bc Tommy made him feel so safe and comfortable and taken care of that he just let everything else about his coming out journey kinda simmer on the back burner.

And, hey, there's nothing wrong with taking your time with that. But considering the scene at dispatch where he still couldn't talk about his sexuality in concrete terms, clearly he hasn't processed it much, if at all. Buck is the guy who dives deep into research at the slightest opportunity, him knowing so little about queerness and queer culture six months into a serious same-sex relationship isn't just out of character but a clear sign that he simply hasn't done any work to explore his sexuality for himself outside of his relationship with Tommy. Whether the writers intended for it read like that or not doesn't matter very much, bc that's exactly what I'm seeing here.

And, again, that alone as a reason to break up with someone is extremely shitty but that's also not what happened.

Tommy clearly has a history of isolating. He's been hurt a lot in the past, we don't need to know the details to know he's a deeply wounded man who spent most of his life guarding his own heart from the world. He told Buck and the audience over and over again, "I look confident. I look sure. I am comfortable. But it took hard work. I wasn't like this before. This is new. This is good but this is scary. I'm working on it I'm working on it I'm working."

He can see that Buck views him as something more, something better, than he thinks he is. Buck loves Tommy, Buck was infatuated with Tommy. Tommy was this perfect guy in Buck's eyes. And that scared Tommy. It intimidated him. But he kept going bc it wasn't a big deal and he could always remind Buck that hey he's just a guy, a guy who had done things wrong for a long time. But Buck never fully grasped it either. Likely bc of how good Tommy made him feel, he struggled to fully grasp that things with Tommy couldn't always be so perfect and good and safe.

They don't talk about that but they keep going bc they like each other bc they're falling in love bc until that six month mark they were both still fairly distracted by how good it felt to be together to really, seriously consider the ramifications of ignoring those not-so-little things they didn't want to face right then.

And then suddenly it's been six months and they're clearly both in love and they're both clearly not ready to be acknowledging that at all. It's been six months and they're just trying to match each other's pace but have never talked about what that pace actually is and then suddenly they're talking about how Tommy used to be engaged to the woman who taught Buck what a real relationship meant and they still aren't even ready to acknowledge they're in love but Buck is already asking to move in together and talking about marriage and they haven't even said i love yous and Buck can't even utter the word bisexual out loud but he wants to jump into living together and fusing their lives together.

But he's not ready for that. As far as Tommy can see he's not ready for that. And if he's asking for something so big when he can't even say the word love then maybe, in Tommy's mind, he'll never truly be able to say it. Maybe they'll keep going like this. Living together and being together but Buck can't face his sexuality as its own thing and Tommy can't face how his trauma affects their relationship and eventually it'll be too much and maybe Buck still wouldn't want to say it and Tommy would push him away like he pushes everyone away and then they'll be right back to that moment, weeks or months or years later, with Buck wanting more but not able to say those words and with Tommy wishing he'd left before it hurt so much.

And sure it hurts to leave now but at least now he's early. Now, Buck hasn't wrapped himself around every piece of his life. Just his heart. At least now he'll hurt but he won't have to move just to get rid of the scent of Evan Buckley perpetually lingering in every corner of his home.

Buck loves Tommy so much he can't imagine a future without him. Tommy loves him so much he can't imagine a future where he gets to keep him.

The break-up makes all the sense in the world. It just doesn't make sense that the break-up wouldn't force them to work on their respective issues and bring them back together stronger in the future.

genre: Mostly fluff, with a bit of comfort added in Navia’s part

a/n: I decided to leave out Clorinde bc I honestly don’t have any concrete headcanons about her, mostly because she was only there for like 3 scenes and said a total of like 2 sentences. I will write for her, but I still need time to read more about her.

I tried to keep this at least a bit headcanon-y, but you know me, so I decided to add a small scenario to every character’s part, mostly just one’s I felt served as good examples of how things might be and that I didn’t feel like I’d get the chance to write in the future.

Charlotte

With Charlotte, days on which nothing happened were rare. There always was some sort of event going on somewhere, and wherever it was, the journalist wasn’t far away, dragging you along with her. But just because you were there for work, didn’t mean you couldn’t enjoy yourselves, especially with someone as energetic as her.

Trying to hold secrets from her, be they good or bad, quickly proved to be futile. She was a Journalist after all, so slowly digging up information to eventually figure out the truth was part of her being. That being said, getting informations through investigating always felt more rewarding to her than getting them served on a silver platter, so it quickly became routine between the two of you to give each other only a few hints instead of normally announcing news… something that, to the misfortune of others around you, quickly also seeped into your conversation with your friends and family.

“‘Man trips and falls down stairs at the opera house’? No, why would anyone read an article when they get all of the information via the headline?”, you suggested before quickly discarding your idea, causing Charlotte to sink further into her thoughts.

“Ooh, how about ‘Tragic accident at the opera house leaves man injured’?”, just as quickly as the words left her mouth, the two of you gave each other an energetic high-five before Charlotte continued to map the article out loud, only for a weird feeling to slowly wash over you… as if there was something important you were forgetting.

“Isn’t today the premier of that thriller you wanted to write an article about?”, you asked, only for Charlotte to stop talking in the middle of her sentence, her eyes widening as she quickly glanced towards the clock.

“You’re right! These clothes should be good enough for the opera house right? Ah, who am I kidding? Nobody cares!”, words began shooting out of her mouth in a panic as she grabbed you by the wrist and started dragging you towards the Aquabus, pen and notebook in her other hand.

…Somehow, be it by the grace of your Archon or Charlotte’s insistence the Aquabus drove at twice its intended speed, the two of you managed to get there in time.

Furina

The Hydro Archon had an… interesting way of showing her affection. The performance she liked everyone thinking was the real her too fond of the dramatic to do so in a normal way while the real her was too easily flustered to go through with anything fancy. And so, it inevitably became your responsibility to initiate anything even slightly romantic.

Just because she was nervous however, didn’t mean Furina’d drop her usual act and with the way she behaved and talked whenever others were looking could easily fool people into thinking your dynamic was the other way around.

There weren’t many moments in which the two of you had the chance to be alone in public, with the Archon either surrounded by a few of the gardes or swarmed by the citizens of Fontaine. So when you wanted to visit your home in the countryside, Furina was quick to decide that she’d indulge you with her presence, choosing to keep silent about how she was happy to leave the city behind for a day.

If Furina’s uncharacteristic silence wasn’t enough to make you feel like there was something wrong, the look on her face would have made any doubts in your mind dissolve. Just as you had opened your mouth to say something however, you were interrupted by the feeling of something grabbing your hand, all the while the Archon's face was slowly painted red.

“Are you feeling fine Furina? Your face is-”, you were quick to tease, unable to hide your amusement as it was all written over your face. Furina however, did not look up, quickly cutting trying to cut you off, only for her own feelings to be betrayed by a crack in her voice.

“The sUN- I- Thanks for your concern, my dear companion, but there’s no need to worry. I’m fine, just a bit warm, the sun is scorching hot today after all”, she quickly stuttered out before putting on her act once again, hiding her face by looking away from you, only to quickly find herself engulfed in shadow as you put a parasol over her, greeting her with a smile when she finally looked back at you.

As the way to your destination was once again filled with silence, your eyes eventually landed on a hill covered in rainbow roses, causing you to quickly drag Furina from your actual path.

“Where are you going!?”, she managed to ask, only shy away for a moment when you suddenly shoved one of the roses in front of her face.

“Be careful when taking it, it’s really easy to prick oneself's on their thorns”, you spoke with a genuine smile, only for it to quickly contort into a teasing one when you saw her blush even further.

“I should have brought a better parasol, this one doesn’t seem to be working”, you joked, causing Furina to fire back with some sort of excuse. You didn’t care too much, the sight of her scrambling to regain her composure was too cute for you to do anything but silently observe it.

The rest of your journey was rather uneventful, as was your way back. What was of interest for many citizens of Fontaine however, was the rainbow rose their archon wore for the rest of the week 

Lynette

To call Lynette a romantic would have been enough to net yourself a serious defamation case. She wasn’t her brother, who did and said all kinds of embarrassing stuff while putting on a mask, so while the two of you may have been in a relationship, most normal people wouldn’t be able to tell. So while you shouldn’t expect to see her showing her love to you in broad daylight, that didn’t mean that you didn’t get any special treatment.

On days where there was nothing to do, it had gotten somewhat common for Lynette to come over to your place, using it as a place to recharge her batteries when there was too much going on at home. So as you silently sat on your couch, reading a novel you had recently bought, while Lynette laid next to you, with her head placed on your lap, eyes closed as she relished in the calm atmosphere, the sound of the door suddenly swinging open was enough to give you a small heart attack.

“Pardon the intrusion, but have you seen my dear siste-”, Lyney’s voice rang through the room before his gaze eventually landed on the two of you, eyes instantly widening. “Oh sorry, I didn’t know I was interrupting something.”

Just as quickly as he had appeared, he was gone, and while you liked to think that it normally took quite a bit to get you to blush, you could feel your cheeks quickly heat up. Was it because of his tone, his smirk or some weird combination of both, you didn’t understand, all you knew being that Lynette’s brother always found a way to make you feel embarrassed about even the most boring scenes.

“Should we-”, you quickly looked down at Lynette and began to talk, only for her to quickly finish your sentence for you.

“‘Try catching up to him’? I don’t think that’s necessary”, she stated matter of factly, her eyes not opening for even a split second before continuing to hum to herself.

“It seemed like he was looking for you, maybe he was just worried where you were?”, you asked, quickly getting a response in the form of a shake of her head.

“I told him I was visiting you. If I had to take a guess I’d say he was just passing your home and decided to quickly mess with you.” Her explanation made more sense than you’d like to admit, it wouldn’t have been the first time he decided to do things simply to try and get some amusement out of your reactions. However, you didn’t like the way Lynette made it sound like getting a reaction out of you was something that required so little effort.

“Sure it wasn’t you he was trying to mess with?”, you asked teasingly, only for her to finally open her eyes as a small smile found its way onto her lips.

“More than certain, redcheeks.”

Navia

Navia had always been easy to get along with. She was intelligent, funny and could single handedly lighten up the mood in any room, possessing an amount of self-esteem that was charming without coming across as her being full of herself. To use her own words: Who wouldn’t treasure having a partner like her. And while there were times her work as leader of Spina di Rosula kept her too occupied to see you much, she made sure to use her time with you to the fullest.

Was it eating at the Hotel together once in a while, or going on a walk around Poisson and Fontaine, taking in what remained of its colorful landscape while simply chatting the day away. Whether the subject of your conversation held any importance or you simply joked around, didn’t matter. Having each other by your side was enough to make any day a good one in retrospect.

There was a time you used to fear visits to the cemetery with Navia. It wasn’t like you didn’t want her to be sad whenever you visited, it was her fathers grave after all, but seeing her knees grow weak as she tried her hardest to keep a brave look on her face made your heart sting as if it had been pierced with a knife. It had been that way each and every time, no matter if it had been a week after his death or two years… But not this time.

As the two of you arrived at the grave, you glanced over at Navia, fully preparing yourself for what you might witness once again, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. Instead, you found her silently smiling to herself and as you followed her gaze, your eyes eventually landed on a pair of candles placed next to the grave, causing your lips to form into a smile as well.

“Looks like Silver and Melus were here before us”, you noted, only for her to shake her head in response.

“Melus told me he wouldn’t be able to visit the grave until later… And well, you know Silver. I doubt he’s the kind of guy to light candles.”

Callas the Unfaithful no more. You might not have known her father that much, only seeing him a couple of times, but you had no doubt that the one who raised Navia would never have murdered anyone for any reason. 

Before you had the chance to lose yourself in your thoughts even more however, you were brought back to the real world by Navia’s voice.

“You still have the flowers?”, she asked, only for you to carefully grab them from your bag and present them to her, handing her one before putting the other in front of the grave. “Thanks. I’m sorry, but could you leave me alone with him for a moment? I’d like to tell him the good news”, she asked only for you to quickly nod.

“Thank you, you’ve been a great help today. I love you”, she told you with a smile.It wasn’t like her usual, radiant ones, instead being much smaller, but it was genuine, and that was the only thing that mattered.

well honestly Selene is already what I would consider a popular oc because like. more than a handful of people know who she is and have said nice things about her and people have ??? drawn her ??? unprompted ??? which is WILD shoutout to the Selene fandom once again. so if I had an option to make one (1) oc popular on a larger scale it would probably be her because I already know she'd click with people (and also she's my favorite and I'd never get sick of talking about her/seeing other people talk about her).

but also as a secondary option, Aqun and/or Adina because I feel like they have some fun nuance to them and I'd be kind of curious to see different people's takes/opinions/interpretations of them

Adina would 1000% be on here and her blog would be red-themed with yellow/blue/green accents, have a custom HTML theme she edited herself with artwork BY her, and it would be just all of her interests in one big pile with a barely functioning tagging system. she posts her vitaar designs a lot and her pfp is Her Actual Face with her favorite vitaar design up to date. she uses all caps/keysmashes a lot and vibes perfectly with tumblr's more absurdist kind of humor. Funny Nonsense comes to her effortlessly

okay, i just came back from reading the asks, and if predictions are what you need in order to tell us, then i’ll give you one, even though i still feel like you’re not going to tell us, UNTIL hj opens his mouth, so i REALLY hope yn asks in the next chapter or two

prediction: if i’m being honest, i have a feeling that she “abandoned” them by leaving. like mingi said, wbn!hj is still hung up on her and i feel that hj getting drunk is sort of hinting that she’s with someone else therefore hj can’t have her back. i wouldn’t know how badly a widow would act, but i feel that had she really died, after a while, he wouldn’t be as affected since there’s nothing he can do to bring her back. unless he’s hawkmoth from miraculous.💀 anyway, another thing that i feel like really gave it away is that there’s no pictures of kijoong’s mom around the house. imo, i think if hj really was a widow, then there would be a few pictures of her so kijoong could see, but there isn’t any. hj only has one picture of her, in his office. it’s as if he’s trying to hide her so if they ever run into her in public, kijoong doesn’t just run off to her. plus, i’m a bit biased and i would want her to be alive so then when yn gets with hj, she appears out of nowhere, and boom, drama. bc let’s be honest, your characters can never be happy for one second before drama happens😭

I've said again and again that I have nothing against any ship or shipping group. People can ship Levi with whoever they want. But these people who harass me over it, then accuse me of "talking" about it all the time, but the only reason I talk about it is because they're the ones asking me about it.

The thing is, is I just want to talk about what's in the actual story. Levi has no love interest in the story, either directly acknowledged or even implied. Everything this person sited as evidence or "proof" of Levi being romantically interested in Erwin, I addressed to the best of my abilities. They didn't want to accept it, and then they accuse me of being a hypocrite, trying to claim that all of my analysis posts are based on the same, speculative, inconclusive and flimsy material they base their beliefs on. As if breaking down text, expression, sequential order of panels, and patterns in the text and past character behavior is the same as taking an off-handed comment from Isayama in an interview from ten years ago or whatever and using it as proof of some super secret hidden romantic interest between Levi and Erwin. You can literally look at every post of mine analyzing AoT and find evidence supporting, pretty damn concretely, my conclusions in the actual text. And I'm hardly alone in that. There's many, many great AoT fans who write brilliant analysis posts about the manga/anime, using only the source material. But these people can never point to a single panel or word bubble or piece of text that supports this notion that Levi was in love with Erwin, or anyone, for that matter. They need to site promotional material to try and back up their claims, and extrapolate meaning from the panels and texts which isn't, in any discernible, concrete way actually supported by the text and panels. They literally need to twist Levi's words and actions in the most absurd, nonsensical, illogical manner in order to make it fit. That isn't how Isayama operates as a writer. Even when there's subtext, there's a clear, undeniable line between it and the action on the page. That's what analysis is based on, after all. There has to be a viable, evident reason for drawing certain conclusions.

Levi holding the serum against his chest, or touching Erwin's hand when he took the serum from him, or him thinking of Erwin when wondering who he could revive, none of that is enough proof in and of itself to support a romantic interest between them. I tried explaining to this person what those things actually indicate within the story. The last two don't mean anything. It's just how the panels were drawn. But the first, if this person had paid any kind of attention to Levi's actual relationship with Erwin, and how Levi regarded Erwin, and the reasons he was so loyal to Erwin, would understand that he thought of Erwin in that moment because he regarded Erwin as the leader that humanity needed, and that humanity's future was dependent on Erwin's survival. It's the entire reason Levi tried to stop Erwin from going to Shinganshina in the first place. I come to all of those conclusions based on the actual text and what we know about the characters leading up to that point.

I explained all of this to this fool in my initial reply to them, and they accused me of "brushing them off", lol.

6. excessive ooc

Honestly... for the MOOOST part, I don't care about "excessive ooc". even though I tend to worry that I post too much ooc LOL. yes, ppl can have "personal blogs" to post ooc stuff to but like. I just understand that behind the muses, there is a real person with real feelings who might wanna share lil details of their lives. Especially when they have more followers on their rp blogs who are more likely to listen & respond than their personal blog does.

There are a couple scenarios where I will draw the line. That being if there is just no in character content. Like they've been logging on every day for weeks just to make several ooc posts and nothing more. Then I may unfollow just because, at that point, I question if I'll ever be able to actually write with them because they're not giving any ic stuff lol. Or when like they just SPAM the dash with reblogs that have NOTHING to do with their muses. I'm not saying musings or aesthetics posts - because those still pertain to the muse. I'm saying when they reblog stuff from other fandoms that have zilch to do with their blog. For example, it'd be like if I were to start reblogging lots of Death Note, lots of Supernatural, and lots of Bluey despite the fact that my blog is Tekken lol. Now that I find annoying bc I'm wondering really WHY can't you use a personal for that? Of course, ppl are always free to do what they want with their blogs - but that's one thing I don't get.

7. DNIs in rules

I'm like what you were saying, I will follow them if it's somebody I know I'm not gonna end up writing with anyone due to different fandoms or having never followed each other. Or if like, they have concrete proof that this person is to be avoided. But liiiiike... when ppl just drop a username in a DNI and has no other available information... I just can't help but wonder if that person did anything or if it was a personal spat between the two muns. Especially because I've been a personal "victim" of ppl telling their mutuals to not interact with me, that I should just delete, and saying just horrible untrue garbage about me. All because I wrote with sb they didn't like. (Though they were also infamous about pretending to be somebody's friend, then dropping them and suddenly acting like they're the Worst Person Ever with no actual evidence)

I understand if muns wanna set boundaries even if they simply don't like the other person, or they had a personal drift or whatever. But like... I'm gonna be honest, there are def ppl in the RPC that I don't care to see on my dashboard. But I don't think I'll ever have a DNI. I just use X-Kit, X-Kit Rewritten, and the Tumblr block feature to avoid them. Which yes, sometimes they might still "slip through" but like... if I just see them once in a blue moon, it's not gonna matter much to me. And this even applied to those who bullied me as I mentioned above.

So yeah, I do try to follow DNIs if it's one of my mutual, but I do often question the validity (sorry but with the past, I can't help but to) and well... I also have to apologize if I end up writing with sb in a "DNI" because I swear it feels like more and more ppl are having DNI lists now and it's like... when you're following nearly 200 people, it's probs hard to remember who's in a DNI and who's not, y'know? But like I also said, usually those in DNI lists tend to be in different fandoms than I am, anyway.

8. reblog karma

I don't follow it. I mean, of course, I'll always reblog posts from the source & send people in one (WHEN it's applicable. Obvs I'm not gonna send a smut / ship meme to somebody who my muse has no relation with) But like... people rarely follow reblog karma so I just see little point in enforcing it lol. Like even IF somebody does reblog from the source, you can always tell they reblogged it from you without sending you one. And honestly? I don't get wtf people even do that for when it comes to munday asks or headcanon asks. Like why? There is literally zero excuse for it. Shy? Send it through anon. It doesn't fit your character? It doesn't have to because it's just asking my character / or the mun a question. Like literally. That shit actually annoys me but again. What can you do? I'm not gonna demand ppl ... but I still never understand it.

And I understand some ppl say it clogs up the activity if it's reblogged straight from them. But honestly... I've just never had that problem before lmao. Like I've had personal blogs reblog memes I've made and those memes can get up to 20+ notes, and it still never bothers me. (Especially when a lotta times in Modern Tumblr Age, notifs for a single post tends to become one block)

My total crack theory in a nutshell: Nanook is Akivili.

Let's start with Kafka, specifically the interrogation scene. She tells us there are 3 ways an Aeon can die: (1) assimilation from overlapping Paths,

(2) they are directly killed by another Aeon,

or (3) oh shit big tree-

As far as I recall, we haven't been directly told what that third method is. But I think we can safely assume it's important. I can't particularly think of any Path that was subsume the Trailblaze (except maybe Harmony, but there's nothing to suggest it), so first method is out. Himeko tells us (when we're asking questions in the parlour car) that she doesn't think Akivili was directly killed by another Aeon, so for now I'm gonna take her word on that (with a grain of salt). Kafka also seems to share a similar sentiment.

But Himeko DOES mention something important: the Primum Mobile. Essentially the idea that each Aeon MUST follow their own Path. It's not said what happens if they don't, or whether it's even possible for them to stray from their Path, but I think if it is, it's an obvious third way for them to die.

Kafka says we are destined to come into conflict with Nanook, in a "struggle of Aeonic proportions". And then she says "even Aeons can be killed." But if you ask if killing an Aeon is their plan, she responds "Ha, are you kidding? That's not what we want. I just want to tell stories from the past: stories about Aeons that have fallen." Hard to tell exactly what to take away from this except maybe the suggestion that killing Nanook is not our goal - conclusion pending.

Alright cool let's go into Simulate Universe and oh shit here's Fuli-

Interestingly, Fuli is providing us (masquerading as Akivili) with the memories of Nanook here. Nanook originates from a planet called Adlivun, which was somehow destroyed. (Now, Akivili's home world is actually referred to as Pegana by Himeko. But my copium here is that planets can undergo name changes or be called different things by the locals.)

I'll be honest this is where the crack theory falls apart a little bit... maybe? We get this text from the loading screen:

The natural assumption here is that Nanook was an Adlivun local who ascended to Aeonhood when his planet was destroyed. However, Fuli's memories appear somewhat non-linear, and both that and the loading text don't provide a concrete timeline.

"You remember that there is a golden scar on your body, and golden blood flowing on the dying planet." implies that this sentence occurs after the ascension of Nanook, but the planet was probably dying before then. "You find yourself dark-skinned and wearing a robe on the wasteland." would come before his ascension.

But there's a potential gap between him being born on the planet and him returning to witness the disaster, during which anything could have happened. For example, joining the Nameless - "you laugh at exploration". The other line here, "you are a swift shadow across the abyss, reaching out to catch the shooting star" could maybe refer to either trying to stop disaster striking, or catch someone falling (but at this point I'm reading into things).

That and now I'm adding in the fact that all of the arguably post-death HCQ members are Destruction characters, which is thematically linking the Destruction Path with experiencing and/or witnessing death.

So at the very least here's my more sensible version of this theory: Nanook was one of the Nameless at some point. Potentially even witnessing or being involved in the death of Akivili, occurring on Adlivun and probably related to whatever caused the planet to fall.

Side tangent: by the way I'm also making the call that Pom-Pom is Akivili/Akivili's heart, and there's actually evidence this time:

You said you liked to share BNGN trivia, so you got any tidbits?

some assorted trivialities (spoilers for a fanfic up to the latest chapter):

the fic was originally envisioned (and partly written) as a series of drabbles! if i had kept that going, it would currently be 5,376 drabbles long.

tiramisu was written into the outline entirely as bait/tribute to my partners, who are big siamese fans. she is now the most popular oc i have ever made for anything. i considered writing an origin story fic for her back when there was a jjba oc zine in the works, but it fell thru and now it only lives in my head. it involves multiple murders : )

bngn is not phf-compliant bc i did not want to read it. to make up for this i promise to find other horrible things for fugo to go through instead <3

probably not news to anyone by this point but here is some explicit confirmation: the first prologue that opens the fic is not about doppio

there are so many cases of foreshadowing in the form of jokes or joke-adjacent statements at this point that i cannot actually remember them all. if you see me make a silly comment in this fic there is at least a 20% chance it's actually a very sneaky mean comment hiding behind the linear progression of time

when i first drafted the outline act 3 was much much shorter and had a few drastic differences. one of these was that polnareff (or at least one of him) would have survived to support the gang much as he does in the original VA, but i could not think of anything fun for him to do that didn't detract from everything else, or at least nothing more fun than the inexplicable spectacle of two dead polnareffs after all of the build-up towards him. rip, rip.

speaking of fun: i wanted to have every major character get at least one really cool moment, regardless of how central they were to the story. i didn't want anyone to feel like you could cut them out completely and it wouldn't matter, i wanted to keep that ensemble feel of VA and give everyone room to affect the story in important ways, even if the fic still obviously has its focusses. of the ones i've published so far, i think i like mista's intervention in the Trish & Dop vs Fugo fight best out of those moments because i just had so much fun writing and visualising it and he felt like a natural fit to provoke fugo's own position in the story as a person fixated on the objective facts (which he was canonically Not Wrong about, in terms of sticking with bruno being a dubious plan for anyone fond of staying alive) to face off against someone who operates more on vibes and rolling the dice.

way back in the depths of drabble-draft the flashbacks were going to occur chronologically, followed by the present day stuff. but as i became aware that this was growing into something i realised that this would be stitching two pretty drastically different fics together back to back, and decided instead to use the current format. in theory this was purely going to allow me to show doppio's relationship with diavolo alongside his absence from him, so we can see simultaneously why he values and misses him so much and what he's becoming without him. in practice it led to a bunch of smaller changes that built up into, among other things, the premise of the entire canon divergence. technically, all of the flashbacks in act 1 and 2 "take place" during ch. 30. there is an implication to this that so far nobody has commented on ;)

i spent an amount of time researching macdonalds in italy that i will never ever get back

speaking of researching things that don't matter to anyone but me: everywhere a major scene happens is based on a specific spot i hand-picked on google maps. i roamed a lot of italian countryside via satellite trying to find the Exact kind of big, ugly, concrete-floored farm i had in mind for the first secco fight

technically this fic (or at least the extended universe around it) has sorbet and gelato VA-style origin stories to go with their fanstands (which i had a lot of fun with, workshopping around ideas for things that would make for excellent and suitably juicy assassination tools but vulnerable in a stand vs stand battle). much like tiramisu, so does my second stand-using oc brodo (who also cameos in 'I Think We're Alone Now', because skulking around trying not to be noticed is his speciality) the third, katarina, is only mostly goncharov-inspired, and Heart of Glass was originally going to be one of the chapter titles for this fic. another song with a very similar title still will be!

i had no intention of narancia being as big a presence in the fic as he was, but the longer i wrote the more i realised that he's just too fun to put in a room with doppio. the scene where he accepts the truth made me feel genuinely like a bit of a horrible person because i'd enjoyed building up their friendship so much and it was one of those chapters where i knew Exactly what the character would want to do and exactly why it would be the thing that would hurt them the most.

when i was hammering out the outline for what would become this fic an artist i had been following released a song that i put on in the background while i wrote, and then stopped writing and went back to listen to it properly twelve or thirteen times because it was eerily vibing perfectly with some of the themes i had been kicking around in my head trying to make something out of. it put a few seeds in my head in the way that some things serendipitously do, so much so that i almost named the whole fic after it. in the end, i decided to affix it to just one chapter where i felt it would best set the tone for the imminent descent to come. that chapter would be chapter thirty-eight.

I’m taking this ramble to tumblr actually bc the group chat kinda changed course when I was only midway. I’ll use a cut for the zenos fans, but in my opinion EW Zenos was a huge letdown compared to what he could have been. So like, only read on if you can handle me complaining about him, you’ve been warned.

EW itself? Fantastic. Let’s get that out of the way. This is nothing against EW, just one character specifically. But I’ve lived with the stance since ShB that Zenos should’ve stayed dead in Stormblood and his EW role only cemented that.

Why?

Well, almost all of EW could’ve happened as is without him there. He wasn’t relevant in any way.

I went into EW thinking of him as a boring character. But then he had a super strong start with in from the cold. I genuinely thought he could grow on me after that questline if he kept it up. But then he didn’t. By level 83 he was back to roaming around like a lost violent child contributing nothing to the plot. He was boring again.

People tell me he’s a foil to the WoL but I just can’t see it. If anything Fandaniel was more of a WoL foil to me, the destruction for the sake of giving up vs our helping for the sake of hope. Zenos’s only happiness is fighting us sure, but a true foil to the WoL for me would be someone like Fandaniel who was actively trying to destroy what we built. Who wanted to end everything we protect. I’m no expert writer, so I could be off on the technicalities of a foil character but that’s how it feels in a story as grand as the WoL’s.

And then his ending battle was treated as some kind of epic culmination. I loved that fight, the vibes were great and the fight was fun. But why was it presented as more cumulative than Endsinger? Zenos had his finale battle with the Shinryu fight in SB. That was his epic full power battle. Man got greedy and wanted another and didn’t contribute anything to the EW plot to earn it. Literally if you take him out, you just have to modify Fandaniel to work alone and use some kind of epic dynamis thing to help the WoL in the end. The core story is basically untouched by him. The Epic Final Battle shouldn’t have been the guy who doesn’t have any direct impact on the plot we were following in my opinion. Endsinger was the threat the plot had us chase this expac, zenos just kinda dropped in and went “heyyy while we’re here let’s fight lol”

I guess I just don’t see his purpose. Man came back from the dead and contributed pretty much nothing concrete for two entire expansions. He could have shown more stuff like in from the cold, but instead he dropped off the radar 3 levels in.

Of course this is all my personal opinion. I know a lot of people who like zenos. But I’ve always found him kinda ‘meh’ for his lack of direct involvement so cutting out the little they tried to give him made his role in EW disappointing to me. It’s not that he never had potential. Just that every time he did it was dropped in favor of him wandering off to do. Whatever. The appeal of zenos in the game as is he is just isn’t there for me and probably never will be. His character arc could’ve been Ok if left in SB (I always found him a little boring compared to Nidhogg and Emet as an expac villain but still, it would’ve been Fine), but it feels overly drawn out being stretched to EW with almost no real plot involvement.

I’m sure some people like villains with such a disconnect, but for me if they’re not involved in the plot they’re not interesting or important, especially when the plot has its own villain that IS involved. This ramble is my personal take on his character that I just never get to talk about bc people are super defensive of him usually.

Anyway I guess my TDLR is that I feel like zenos being brought back post SB was pointless and boring bc he proceeded to have almost no main plot involvement ever. In from the cold showed his potential and then promptly dropped it, leaving it even more disappointing.

tragically i have been consumed with more Story thoughts, everyone say hi to juniper

every day by david levithan but different

not every day, could spend a week in this body, or a year, or years, she never knows when she'll jump to another

not jumping exclusively over space, but also across time

one day she's a black 17yo girl in 2017, the next she wakes up a white 17yo guy in 1438

she doesn't know why, and she spends her story trying to figure it out

she assumes she'll eventually live the equivalent of a full single life (70-80 years), just dispersed

she can probably affect small things, but not necessarily major ones (eg jfk)

she likes to keep trinkets of her 'more meaningful' lives in certain spots, eg behind a specific tree in this specific park for times when she's in a body near that area

it varies what trinkets she keeps, she prefers clocks and stuff (bc of course she does, it's the only thing she Knows about herself) but often she'll try to take something of relative significance to the person but that won't be missed

think someone who collects a bunch of teas, maybe she takes a rarely-used strainer (that clearly has no personal importance wrt family heirlooms and such)

"i think my fifth life is where i really started living" bc that was the first body she was in for long enough to think of it as home, and also form concrete memories in

she had a best friend in that one (who she made on her own, not a built-in bestie that was already around when she landed) who she Told about all this body- and time-jumping

they were definitely younger than 13 so the friend either believed her or went along with The Bit, but didn't rat her out on it

she probably came up with a code word like "if i ever see you again, this specific phrase means Hey It's Me even if i'm not in this body", a secret handshake was probably also involved

critically. we never learn this friend's name. this will come back later

but they always used to meet up under a copse of juniper trees, so that's where juniper took her name from (bc she thought it would be weird to directly steal her bestie's name, and weirder to steal the name of the body she was borrowing, but she needed SOME way to refer to herself)

in the Juniper Life, as she calls it, she was amab, so she figured she was a boy, since that was the life that Felt Right, so she used he/him for a hot minute. realized over a few more jumps that the afab bodies Felt Better, and people using she/her Felt Better (even if they didn't know the implications of using pronouns on someone they think they know), so she eventually switched to internal she/her full-time

not to be religious but she thinks of every day as a gift, because she genuinely doesn't know if she'll wake up in the same body the next day, to say nothing of waking up in the same time period

always has to figure out allergies, medications, chronic illnesses, dangerous relationships, every single time she wakes up as someone else

which brings me to the layout of every chapter:

so each chapter opens with juniper taking notes to herself about where and when she's landed, how this might connect to what she's seen so far, persons of interest, that sort of thing

then the actual prose is some other person who WOULD be a side character, if this were any other story

something about "oh everyone is the main character of their own story, everyone has their own situations going on and *we're* all side characters in *their* story"

so juniper, who is dealing with This Crazy Shit, is a side character. all we hear from her is the opening chapter notes, and then any interactions she has with that chapter's POV

each chapter POV is someone who is relevant to The Person Juniper Is at that moment, be it a best friend or teacher or child or enemy or whatever. somehow, in the midst of everything else going on with them, they cross paths with juniper, and (knowingly or not) they influence Her Situation

think a combination of patrick ness' "the rest of us just live here" and the song "for good" from wicked

as yet unsure what happens to the person she lands in, whether they're watching her do everything and yelling at the parasite in their head

that feels too horror-esque, so i don't want to do that

probably more like they're nudged into a co-captain position, where juniper feels (/hears their voice in Their head that she's borrowing) what the owner of the body would do, and tries to act according to that as best she can

once she leaves, i think the person takes their body back over and treats the experience as a weird brain fog, as if they'd just had a really bad flu without any physical symptoms, and maybe they go to therapy about it

since they're at least able to influence her actions (while thinking it's their own actions), they probably aren't *incredibly* put off by the experience? like yeah it's Weird, but also she can't exactly walk up to someone and ask about a specific three-month stint of mental fuzziness from four years ago that they didn't tell anyone about

most likely, one of the chapters will be from the POV of someone juniper *has previously borrowed*, so we can get some discussion of how it feels for them

not only that, but i think that on some level they recognize juniper as being related to Their Incident, even though she's literally a different human now than the one they were dealing with

unsure if they piece it together or not, whether she tells them what the deal was, but they genuinely want to help her once they get the ball rolling

they probably somehow do Become Aware that it's a david levithan situation, and they can tell juniper is Genuinely Remorseful and wants to stop it, but she doesn't know how, and it isn't her fault, so they're down to assist and forgive

also juniper's jumps land her in people who are Around The Same Age, so she won't go from a 12-year-old to an 80-year-old, but she *could* go from a 20-year-old to an 18-year-old

so to that end, whoever it is that she Borrowed that we now get to see the POV of, has to be relatively close in age to Current Juniper, regardless of how old they were for The Incident, since she ages at a Relatively Normal Human Rate

i think nowadays she just waits until she gets bumped, which either happens randomly, OR when the body dies

...which. well, damn. cool, you get to hop to a new one and start over, but the person who used to live in that body is just *gone*, and they weren't even in control when it happened

so i think that's definitely crossed her mind before, of "ugh man i'm sick of This Current Body And Time, and there's no telling when i'll get to leave, short of One Specific Method" which is obviously super fucked up and she never did that

she's thought about it

hey look it's later!! i'd love if the very last chapter was from juniper's first bestie's pov, and they meet juniper again in a new body (but they're both adults now), and she does the code word and the handshake, and the bestie (and the reader) realize OH SHIT IT'S FULL CIRCLE

to parrot off of the other anon i think it’s frustrating too bc fairy tale did have like a small, small chance of going somewhere with the thread that umeed wanted to start her own chai business. like i was okay with going through her silliness in the first season bc the entire point of her arc was for her to learn that earning big money fast didn’t actually get her anywhere and she had to learn to work on her own step-by-step to merit good things coming to her. in that aspect the ending to the first season where she asked farjaad to help center her so she could mature and work hard while he asked her to help him loosen up so he wouldn’t try to shoulder all burdens on his own was nice. and even when farjaad put her to work at his office as a nepo implant in the second season i was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt bc i thought hey, they might do something yet again with emphasizing on the impracticality of shortcuts and how umeed needs to forge her dreams per her own efforts rather than via handouts from farjaad, who can offer her emotional support and guidance first before she maybe asks him for some monetary support to get things going. i wholeheartedly agree with any accusation that i gave sarah majeed way too much benefit of the doubt in imagining any of that lol. bc for pretty much the entire span of fairy tale umeed’s dream of starting a chai business has been nothing more than a verbal assertion. it’s not important to the story beyond us knowing that she simply has that dream. rather than watching a second season where she puts her now completed degree to use and gets to work we’re just watching an endless reel of dream wedding shenanigans. which i get it everyone likes bc they’re fun. but i’m once again just not sure how this reconciles with the assertion that umeed represents female empowerment. if starting a chai business is so important to her why haven’t we actually seen her make any concrete moves to do it? she had a brief conversation with ak in the first season about getting things off of the ground but that was also forgotten and left to the wayside for the sake of romantic development. romantic development is fine and i love it and i still do have a leftover fondness for farjaad and umeed bc their interactions are truly very sweet. but i wanted a drama actually about umeed and her growth and aspirations and i didn’t get that. so i’m over it now 🙄

I think what everyone involved in FT (fans included) seem to be forgetting as the main factor of what makes ANY story memorable is the 'coming of age' moment for the characters. part of the reasons why sequels fail terribly (across the board) is because writers usually undo that 'coming of age' moment at the end of the original story to keep the narrative tension or conflict going on. and in case of PakDramas, to keep the mindless shenanigans going on.

FT s1's ending promised that moment for Umeed that she had learned where she was wrong and she wanted to grow up from her shortcut ways. but that narrative point, while a great way to end s1's story, clearly doesn't have a place in s2 which is almost completely all wish fulfillment fanservice. this happens in basically all rom-com sequels in Pakistan. like..Suno Chanda ended on that beautifully perfect ending for Arsal and Jiya where Arsal promises to become Jiya's pillar or support and her reason to come back home after finishing her studies while Jiya realizes that regardless of how big the flight of her dreams is, at the end of the day she wants to come back home and the safety that she has a partner who's willing to make sure that she'll always have the safe home to come back to strengthens her resolve to fulfill her dreams as soon as she can. but of course S2 completely and fully derailed and retconed ALL of that development because mature characters apparently don't make for good humor shows.

my theory is that FT makers realized that the fans really just care about a green flag hero romancing the silly girl and shouldering all of the consequences of her shenanigans because that's what "feminine joy" is and just rolled with that only, completely avoiding to put in any real substance that will make the show actually reflect the kind of empowerment and progression that its fandom screams the show has. fans just want pretty people romancing each other toh theek hai, wohi de do. way easier to accomplish all that than introduce any nuance. akhir ko dhanda hi chalana hai, chal raha hai.

lmao i won't be surprised if Umeed miraculously makes the chai business a success without putting in a single bit of effort in it because EMPOWERMENT ka jhanda bhi toh ghaadna hai xD

3) What is your OC's fatal flaw? Are they aware of this flaw?

Hmm... I think her main flaw is that she's very ruled by her emotions. She's quick to, well, all her emotions and can't hide them well, but spite is the dangerous one. See: her telling Emet-Selch the memory of Aumorat will die with him, and only showing Elidibus the crystals because she assumed his mind was so gone he believed his own bullshit about the ancients being real. You can... imagine how she felt when her ass landed in Elpis during Endwalker. She is aware of it, and is trying to work on it with the pixies, but change is slow when you've been doing that shit for almost 6 years of your life because you were too busy saving the world.

SGE - Isnae Phis, aka the sage weapons that look like Feo Ul's wings!

DWN - in-game it's the Deepshadow Claymore, in lore it's the weapon Hades uses when he tanks for you in the Elpis dungeon, since the power is inherited from him.

23) What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?

She uh. Doesn't have a hard time expressing her emotions (see above), but the hardest one for her to process is fear. She started being the WoL at 16, and only became an adventurer because of the fear of not being able to control her life/being shoved into a relationship she had no desire to be in. Any time she feels fear, she pretends she doesn't. She's only admitted to being scared to G'raha, right before he sacrificed himself in Ultima Thule, finally breaking down and saying she was scared she wasn't gonna be able to return home.
