The end of an era (…canonically).

There’s so much to say but none of my thoughts are entirely complete or coherent just yet, so I’ll just say this: thank you Critical Role.

I have loved this beautiful, messy, poignant story and all the stories that have formed it. It has brought me many laughs, tears, and moments that will forever stick with me, and for that I am so grateful.

Thank you Vox Machina, the Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells.

Thank you to the Crown Keepers, the Ring of Brass, and the party from ‘Downfall’ that I don’t think has an actual name.

Thank you to the cast and crew, the guests, and everyone else who contributed to this story (including the fan creators- I literally have a gallery of CR fanart on my phone, taking up way too much storage, just as a reliable serotonin source).

While this chapter closes, the story isn’t over entirely and I am very excited to see all that comes next.

Argh I just saw a tiktok explaining the ending of the latest doctor who episode because people apparently needed it explained to them. One person even said the episodes this season aren’t good because they shouldn’t need to have the endings explained to them.

No. They shouldn’t. I get that not everyone’s on the same page. Not everyone’s had the same experiences.

But. It’s obvious. Even if it’s not obvious during the episode itself - and I’ll chalk that up to the personal experience thing - the ending hits you like a fucking brick.

If you don’t get that by the end. If you watched the whole ass thing and still needed that explained to you; then you’re just being deliberately obtuse.

You’ve made the band simple and beautiful, and inlaid just the details needed to make it special. Not too gaudy, not too plain. You’ve tried to make it something that people will keep. You needn’t have worried: no matter who you put it on, with time, it starts to wrap tighter around their finger. Starts to cling. talked w/ a friend about this and wanted to post something similar yesterday after a convo i saw also

about people criticizing ttcc / ttcc fans for just... being cog fans? being cog centric? usually coming from people who only like the toons.

and everyone likes what they like! it's okay! but saying that people who like the cogs are horrible and support the bad things they do, is just blatantly wrong. i thought we knew that enjoying villainous and morally Bad / grey characters is... okay? it doesn't mean you support what they do. it's interesting to explore these topics.

i've seen many people just... paint anyone who likes the cogs as horrible because they're "apologists of x and y" and... i dunno. rubs me the wrong way! you do have a point and recognize the cogs do bad things, but liking them as characters means nothing about who you are as a person.

and this is not to say that people who are in toontown for the toons are bad. hell! they are right this IS toontown. i may be on the cog liker side but i like the toons! maybe ocs more than the npcs - mostly because i like my friends and the sheer creativity the toons can bring out!!

SO what i wanna say... i dunno. let's not point fingers...? let's have fun in a goofy cartoon game together??? also complaining about people liking VILLAIN ROBOTS on TUMBLR is kind of funny to me. do you realize where you are. but then again a lot of this i see on discord and in-game as well since i avoid things on tumblr... i am a sensitive little fella i avoid misty fight bc of One Really mean "Critic" guy i saw there and i have been shivering in my bootsies since. so you get me

but like yes ttcc is more cog centric but... that's okay? things could be written better and i still wanna speak on it, and i do thing the toons deserve attention and better writing... but the fact it focuses on the cogs isn't... bad? if you don't like how con centric it is you can go play ttr...? god forbid people have fun and explore the villain's side of things...? i'm not saying either toontown server is better or worse than the other... and everyone can like their own things!!

but like... people will just like the cogs and that's okay and it doesn't make you bad. let's all be friends okay? both sides may be going at each other's necks in-game and the cogs in fact do horrible things - but it's what makes them fun, and it gives the toons things to do in the game!! but we don't gotta !!!!!!!! i may be really sarcastic and sometimes mean in private but like that's me just privately sassing, deep down i think people should just... y'know..? enjoy things.

so yea that's the guzma / cathal thought of today. toon people cog people both people are all awesome as fuck and you keep doing what you're doing i love you toontown isn't toontown without you

I've never heard of emts working only at events? What's that like for you if you don't mind my asking?

Yeah, there are ambulance companies that staff certain events, but there's some event specific companies out there lmao. For me specifically, it's almost entirely college events, whether it's happening on a campus or not. It's not great, usually pretty boring, but it's better than being on an ambulance or in a hospital. We do get actual emergencies sometimes, but usually it's just getting drunk people to the tent or giving out water and bandaids lmao. Again, boring as fuck, but I chose this over working on a 911 rig, so that's on me 😔 if I'm being so real tho, other than my coworkers, the best part of the job is the food lmaoooo it's so good and all the food trucks/food booths give discounts or free food to us depending on the location and event. And there's almost always a ton of downtime, so I basically just get paid to sit there and vibe for the most part

got an ad for a course that looks right up my alley (like, too-good-to-be-true levels of up my alley) and toyed with the idea of possibly signing up. asked my mom what she thinks, including abt the price and such, fully expecting her to shut me down and say it's too expensive or isn't a good direction to take, but no even before i started listing the actual cool stuff you get from it she already got so excited and told me to sign up and that it sounds perfect for me and such. so i guess we'll see
