#Nostalgic November

Are you all still enjoying all the jily goodness and fun events that @jilytoberfest is giving us? We hope you are, and, if not, it's very worth it to check out their blog for all the amazing fics and art and bingos and masquerade guessing games!

Even if you just want to read and admire the jily fics and art, there's a dozen ways to be involved and the whole event is a great way to spread the jily love a little more ;-)

That being said... there's just eleven more days (timezone dependent of course) until November is here and with it a new Jilychallenge to participate in.

Like flared jeans, bangs and rectangular glasses, love to return once in a while, so do our most beloved tropes. So get ready for a month of Jilychallenges themed around the most nostalgic tropes out there (one bed, Friends scared to confess feelings, Order Jily sent on a mission posing as a married couple on honeymoon, Amortentia, dangers in the dungeons, working together on a class assignment, Quidditch accidents and confessions in the hospital wing, lost in the Forbidden Forest, Jily accidentally meeting in the Muggle world (on holiday), Jily getting a cat, etc, etc.)

We would love to hear what tropes in jily stories you loved (guilty pleasures and all, bring it on! Send your faves in the ask box or pm)

If you would like to join the fun, reblog this post and add what you want to create in the tags (for instance, #writing, #oneshot, #art, #playlist, #moodboard etc) before the 31st of October 2024.

You will be assigned a partner but you are not required to create something together, it is just meant to be a way to help each other out, have fun, meet new jily fans.

Nostalgic Trope November - Jily Challenge

Like there wouldn't have been a Harry Potter without James and Lily getting together (and getting some fun action ;-) there wouldn't be fandom in 2023 if it didn't all start way back when the HP books were still being written... Back then, James asked Lily out incessantly, but truly ALL THE BLOODY TIME, how they could ever play spin the bottle is a mystery. They frequently swapped bodies due to potion mishaps, we expect because of all those nerves about who to ask to the Yule Ball coming up, so very soon.... This month we're celebrating the fun that old tropes can be, but we appreciate fandom has evolved to next level story telling as well. Therefore any *Classic Trope* we give you, you are free to Put it Down, Flip it and Reverse it as much as it pleases you... (we will only serve out M-preg in case of a special request ;-)

Each pair of creators will receive a prompt from us to spark your ideas. You are always free to use and interpret your prompt as loosely as you want.

Having a lil emotional moment over here ✨

I mentioned this recently, but I got some glowing star stickers about a month or so ago. Reason why I haven't put them yet - I wanted to recreate a specific moment of the night sky, but wasn't sure what.

Today I finally decided to go with the summer night sky of 201x, when my friends and I used to lay down on a floor during summer camp, late at night, after the work was done, and would stare at the stars together. We used to see shooting stars every night, the sky was dark and clear.

So I was looking that up (correction- have been looking it up for the past half hour or so, to get the precise coordinates and direction). And well, what post of mine came up from the queue?

The one where I talk about that same path and those same stars all those summers ago. I never would've noticed if Drift hadn't just reblogged it from me - I just happened to see the lil notification pop up, haven't been on Tumblr pretty much the entire day.

I might send that night sky pic to our group chat. Or maybe not. Either way, it's a bit of a weird sign from the universe or whatever (it feels like).
