i left nordle out of that future AU art i did a while ago so i felt like this was needed. i think he would take up fred's role in the future but he cares significantly less about the whole ordeal cause he still loosely identifies as 'evil-aligned'. i think he maliciously complies

Nordle is such a sad character cause like. What do you mean his dad is gone, because of his only friends not that he knows that, and he's just being taken care of by a robot? No family has come to take him? Not that Tobor isn't family ans obviously he cares about Nordle very much but I mean typically if your guardian is missing at 10 YEARS OLD you're gonna go live with other family or be put in the foster care system. Even his aunt is just like "oh yup your dad/my brother is in jail and you just have this house to yourself and have a robot as your servant, cool so anyways-" and like. Also his dad was peice of shit who didn't care that much about him anyway, so like I'm glad Tobor is taking that role, but again, what, this poor kid.

Hnn the parallels between Norm and Tobor... Norm constantly trying to live up to his sister's humanity in the eyes of his father vs Tobor constantly trying to live up to his creator's humanity in the eyes of his son... How Doof and Nordle are so damaged by the trauma they grew up with that they don't even see a viable alternative at first... How the main difference is that Vanessa DOES see what's going on because she's a neutral force in all this, and she does her best to develop a relationship with her brother, whereas Nordle has to realise all by himself, because his father isn't even there.

I'm not sure if I would enjoy if Kevin become a villain (mostly cause his and Gretel's age difference give bigger risk to it looking pathetic) but I do think I would enjoy some villain trying to get him on their side

I think I can see that mostly with Professor Exclamation especially if he finds out that superhero Gretel and his son's friend Gretel are the same person like 'You turned my son against me I'm going to turn your brother against you'

I'm playing the Witcher 3 and even though I'm only a few hours in everyone talks about how the Nordlings are cool and the Nilfgaardians are dicks but it's the Nilfgaardians who are helping me out with shit and the Nordlings are just hurling insults and slurs at me and going out of their way to be unhelpful turd gobblers.

The Northern Kingdoms can sit and spin.

Usually when you have a super hero team, you usually only have like. One "brains". Gretel and Hamster have at least three. And yet they all do enough that I don't feel like they really overlap or that they feel superfluous. Kevin who does the actual strategizing and coming up with plans (who also acts as transportation), Fred who gathers the information and actually has most of the computer know how, and Bailey who sometimes helps Gretel with the strategizing when Kevin isn't around and otherwise is a source of eclectic knowledge not unlike Fred.

All the while Gretel is learning how to get better at strategizing herself and thinking things through.

There's probably something to be said about how everyone brings something to the table, but the most important thing they bring is just themselves, another warm body able to help split the workload. They don't need powers to fight evil.

We've already seen a point made of Kevin and Fred being able to handle certain villains without (too much) additional help. Gretel started out claiming she could handle things alone, but now she has been shown that she can, to varying extents.

I thibk it is really selling the idea that it's not really the super powers that make the superhero. Hamster and Gretel have a whole team behind them. They're more of a symbol. An idea. (Which is pretty classic superhero fare). I mean, if it wasn't for Fred, Kevin and Bailey being "superhero adjacent" would they have ever taken the initiative to try and fight the villains the way they did?

Of course even when that that wall of supposed responsibility and capability was been broken, Hamster and Gretel wouldn't stop because they lost their powers. Everyone else on their side has been fighting without powers this whole time.

Now the more Doylist reasoning is probably "We need as many people as is convenient to the story being told", and I think this is definitely applicable to a certain extent. But we've had SEVERAL episodes make a point of a character being able to "handle something on their own". Even Fred showed some emotional attachment to the idea of being able to take care of a villain on her own (though that could also just be her own similar tastes to the villain in question talking).

It's probably only a matter of time until Bailey gets to solo a villain. (Especially with how much of a help she can be to Gretel). We'll have to see next season.

As much as I love Nordle and Gretel's friendship I kind of would love an alternate reality where Nordle does become evil but only like dwampyverse Evil™ and he and Gretel stay best friends even while battling each other.
