I think dark/cynicism fatigue is really setting in for me when it comes to media consumption.
Why can't good triumph? Why can't faith in the good in humanity triumph?
I don't like shallow, extremely one-dimensional stories in general, either, but I also think both sides of the coin can be equally one-dimensional/poorly written.
Droning cynicism and nihilism can in my eyes be just as boring as any story subsisting on the power of hope and friendship.
Maybe I just haven't found a good 'cynical' story in a while, but I really think shooting down anyone fighting for good just to be 'realistic' and 'to ground' a story isn't the special move it seems to be treated as by many, still.
As someone at this point 'older' in fandom spaces, that stuff more often than not just feels super juvenile instead of 'breaking storytelling conventions' or 'breaking new ground'.
It so often feels like someone's first step into more complex storytelling.
And I think 'grounding' a story like this isn't necessarily the non-conformist middle finger to The Mainstream some people see it as, either.
The issue with current media isn't whether it's more lighthearted or darker, it's that it's increasingly more product than it is sincere art made by people.
I guess one way to percieve this is that lighthearted media is the culprit because it might 'appeal to a broader audience', but I think it's just that so much of it doesn't feel sincere.
We're getting the 5th or 6th Toy Story when the entire line should've ended at 2.
Comic book movies are only now falling out of fashion because Whedon speak was tiring after the 5th movie, but has become absolutely unbearable after so many stories outside of Marvel have made it their identity and it then has been written increasingly worse with each movie, too.
And truth is, it's also subjective what constitutes 'sincere' art. I simply use the storytelling intuition I've built up over the years. Some look at the credits and see whether they detect the whiff of committee in there.
Maybe I sometimes get sincerity out of pretty obvious product? And who's to say you can't have sincerety in such media? A very large portion of media is made as art as much as it is made to make money.
And even stories that pretty thoroughly foreshadow and bake their happy ending into themselves get the criticism of being 'asspully' sometimes.
The 'shunning' of happiness and chill content in stories has become super interesting to me because I think lighthearted content has been mixed up with being bad storytelling, when it truly is just storytelling within a different tone that can be done as well or as poorly as any darker story.
You can have conflict and stakes in a more lighthearted story.
Stories with good guy characters can have conflicts beyond 'jerk turns good'.
How about someone growing stronger to do good or gaining the confidence to fight for good? How about someone finding their passion or purpose?
How about a hero not really knowing what they believe in at all and finding out what they believe in during their journey?
Or how about a hero who perseveres in face of great hardship after being broken down, even?
There are so many archetypes that aren't just bad guy turning good or bad guy that sometimes does good!
And these are absolutely valid, too.
With all of these the writers simply must be (allowed to) put in the work.
I'm so tired of non-complex good guys in stories.
Make good guys complex again.

“Gender ought not to be construed as a stable identity or locus of agency from which various acts follow; rather, gender is an identity tenuously constituted in time, instituted in an exterior space through a stylized repetition of acts. The effect of gender is produced through the stylization of the body and, hence, must be understood as the mundane way in which bodily gestures, movements, and styles of various kinds constitute the illusion of an abiding gendered self. This formulation moves the conception of gender off the ground of a substantial model of identity to one that requires a conception of gender as a constituted social temporality. Significantly, if gender is instituted through acts which are internally discontinuous, then the appearance of substance is precisely that, a constructed identity, a performative accomplishment which the mundane social audience, including the actors themselves, come to believe and to perform in the mode of belief."
“If gender attributes, however, are not expressive but performative, then these attributes effectively constitute the identity they are said to express or reveal. The distinction between expression and performativeness is crucial. If gender attributes and acts, the various ways in which a body shows or produces its cultural signification, are performative, then there is no preexisting identity by which an act or attribute might be measured; there would be no true or false, real or distorted acts of gender, and the postulation of a true gender identity would be revealed as a regulatory fiction. That gender reality is created through sustained social performances means that the very notions of an essential sex and a true or abiding masculinity or femininity are also constituted as part of the strategy that conceals gender’s performative character and the performative possibilities for proliferating gender configurations outside the restricting frames of masculinist domination and compulsory heterosexuality.”
-- Judith Butler, “Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of Identity”
[As an aside, it’s no wonder Judith Butler was the winner of the Bad Writing Award in 1998. She’s an astonishingly terrible writer.]
Queer Theory itself tells us that “non-binary” is just a political performance. Basically the “cool” kids trying to make the squares feel square and want to join and conform with the cool kids, as they “complicate” and mess with society. Its entirely contrary nature is no more obvious than the fact it’s defined entirely by what it isn’t, rather than what it is. Being “non-conformist” in a predictable, socially acceptable, conformist kind of way. Hippy, grunge, emo, goth... every non-conformist conformed.
https://oxsci.org/anti-conformity-creates-a-new-conformity/
Despise anything that is “too mainstream”? Want to make a countercultural statement with an alternative style? Your one-of-a-kind look often ironically ends up pretty much the same as your counterculture peers. Intrigued by this counterintuitive phenomena, mathematician Jonathan Touboul at Brandeis University in Massachusetts breaks the problem down by studying how transmission of information through society influences people’s behaviour.
Time is needed for each individual to detect changes in society and react accordingly. While the propagation delay varies among individuals, it is crucial. Touboul’s research focuses primarily on a society with conformists copying the majority and anti-conformists rebelling against it. He then creates a computer model that stimulates how these agents interact. Start out acting randomly, anti-conformists then always undergo a phase transition into a synchronised state, with each other in opposing the mainstream. Depending on how the anti-conformists interact with the mainstream, the behaviour can become extremely complex. Nonetheless, it is an inevitable result of large populations to create some kind of conformity, even when you set out to go against the norm.
So much for teasing hipsters and e-girls, this research has more than mere meme value. Delays in the propagation of information play an important role in many other areas, such as understanding synchronisation of nerve cells, investment strategies in finance, or emergent dynamics in social science.
Bonus:
“Gender: The socially prescribed and enforced roles, behaviors, and expectations that are assigned to us at birth. These roles determine how you are ‘supposed’ to feel and act based on your body.”
-- Ozlem Sensoy and Robin DiAngelo, “Is Everyone Really Equal?”

"Masterful Deductions: Navigating the Intricacies of 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes'"
Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" is an enduring collection of detective stories that has captivated readers for over a century. Published in 1892, the book introduces the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes and his loyal companion Dr. John Watson, taking readers on a riveting journey through the foggy streets of Victorian London.
At the heart of the collection is Holmes's unparalleled deductive prowess, showcased in twelve brilliantly crafted tales. The narrative brilliance lies not only in the mysteries themselves but in the meticulous unraveling of each case by the astute detective. The book opens with "A Scandal in Bohemia," where Holmes is faced with the enigmatic Irene Adler, setting the stage for a series of intricate puzzles that defy conventional solutions.
Doyle's writing is marked by its precision and attention to detail, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the gaslit alleys and smoky interiors of 221B Baker Street. Holmes's methods, including his keen observations and logical reasoning, become a literary archetype, laying the foundation for countless detectives in literature and popular culture.
Each story is a standalone masterpiece, showcasing the versatility of Holmes's intellect as he navigates crimes ranging from theft and blackmail to kidnapping and murder. The narrative structure is both engaging and intellectually stimulating, making it a delightful read for mystery enthusiasts and casual readers alike. Doyle seamlessly weaves together elements of suspense, humor, and astute observation, creating a tapestry of tales that stand the test of time.
Holmes's character is a study in contrasts – a brilliant detective with a penchant for solitude, yet one who possesses a genuine affection for his friend Watson. The camaraderie between Holmes and Watson adds a layer of warmth to the stories, providing readers with a relatable entry point into the world of deductive reasoning and crime-solving.
"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" is more than a collection of detective stories; it is a glimpse into the social fabric of Victorian England. Doyle skillfully addresses issues of class, justice, and morality, creating a nuanced backdrop against which Holmes's investigations unfold. The stories often challenge societal norms, presenting Holmes as a non-conformist figure who relies on logic rather than blind adherence to conventions.
One of the collection's strengths is its ability to keep readers on the edge of their seats, constantly guessing and second-guessing the outcomes. Each story is a puzzle, and the satisfaction of witnessing Holmes untangle the complexities is both intellectually gratifying and emotionally rewarding.
Doyle's legacy is imprinted in the enduring popularity of Sherlock Holmes, who has transcended literature to become a cultural icon. The detective's methods, quirks, and iconic pipe have left an indelible mark on detective fiction, inspiring generations of writers, filmmakers, and enthusiasts.
In conclusion, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" is a literary gem that continues to shine brightly in the realm of detective fiction. Arthur Conan Doyle's meticulous storytelling and the enduring appeal of Holmes and Watson make this collection a must-read for those seeking a blend of intellectual stimulation, suspense, and timeless storytelling. As the fog lifts over Victorian London, the brilliance of Holmes's deductive powers continues to illuminate the pages, inviting readers into a world where mysteries are solved with unparalleled precision and flair.

i’m planning a South Park Fic called Charmed!Park. I’m honestly just writing exactly what i want to see in the world today even if i’m the only one who wants it lol.
Right now some of the foundations are hazy but it’s “the power of four” and in the au:
- Stan : Power of astral projection. Represents Prue, hitting the same emotional and story beats as her. Wendy would represent Andy in this scenario as well; the Police department being switched with the student council. (Wendy would be class president and Tolkien her vice president making him Detective Morris.)
-Kyle : Power to freeze. I believe he would hit a lot of Piper’s angry/frustrated middle child story beats but not her romantic story at all.
-Kenny: Power to levitate and immortality. Now Kenny does represent Piper’s romantic story as he falls in love with Butters the coven Whitelighter. (this ofc representing Leo.)
-Cartman : Power of premonition. Eric is going to hit a lot of pheobe’s emotional story especially his relationship with the coven; this would include letting down walls, trying to act good even if you think you’re an evil screwup, etc etc.
I also want Craig to play a roll, he is going to have the power of Shapeshifting. He’s going to his pheobe’s romantic storyline with a demon (the role of Cole being taken by Tweak ofc) but i also want him to be like the “second Charmed” like how Paige was.
Thinking about the goths also being involved in the coven just because i’m indulgent and i love those non-conformists so fucking much.
anyway just brainstorming on tumblr. like any normal writer

Where are the films about female geniuses?
Men outnumber women approximately in 89% of the films (1990-2018), so it’s not a surprise that male characters have more room for variety and advancement in terms of personality, capabilities, backstory... pretty much anything.
Growing up, on TV screens I saw tech geniuses who created ahead of its time machines, invented new chemical compounds... I also watched excellent detectives magnificently reading people and the motives behind their actions, and even greater ones - who could see through both humans AND chemical formulas with deadly accuracy… Great examples for a kid/teenager! Role models! Inspirations! And yeah, I used to imitate them. I tried to copy their walking style, manner of speaking, I imagined I had their abilities. But there was always a clear difference, a thick wall, between me and them – it was gender.
I generally used to think that I would fit perfectly to be a non-conformist, completely unpredictable, obsessive, brilliant scientist (pardon my teenage god complex), but all the fictional characters that met this standards were men. ‘Genius’ female characters would usually make badass and resourceful sidekicks, who often lacked some kind of depth.
„Sherlock Holmes gets to be brilliant, solitary, abrasive, Bohemian, whimsical, brave, sad, manipulative, neurotic, vain, untidy, fastidious, artistic, courteous, rude, a polymath genius. Female characters get to be Strong.”
It made me feel weak in my femininity, because one thought followed me around everywhere I went, a thought that no matter how clever, how unsociable and baffling I will be - eventually, one day there will come a time when I have to give up this complex inspired personality that I have developed. This is because there is no place in the world for clever, unsociable and baffling women. There is no place for women who have complex personality. The stories of the people I modelled myself on could never be mine. That’s what I learned from the films.
At this point, it started to make me furious when someone attributed to me something that reminded me of femininity (e.g. commenting on my appearance, or saying ‘All girls do that’ about something I did). Even when I found out about existence of one brilliant female character, Lisbeth Salander, she was described as "a pale, androgynous young woman who has hair as short as a fuse, and a pierced nose and eyebrows", which strengthened my belief that a genius character cannot be feminine, even if they’re a woman…
I know that we have no right to define what’s exactly feminine and what’s masculine (because it’s all a social construct), but any female genius character I have seen on the screen was always more similar to fictional and real men than fictional and real women I have ever came across. It made me try hard to be societally considered ‘manly enough’ as a woman because I believed that this way I could earn the society’s permission to be clever, unsociable, baffling, complex.
All I needed that would free me from all the worries concerning my femininity back then would be even one complex female genius character, whose entire personality doesn’t revolve around being a ‘strong woman’, and who visibly does not regret being born a woman in the man’s world. Not just tolerate being a genius yet a woman, but somehow show that they thrive in being both.
Not ‘genius, yet a woman’, but ‘genius AND a woman’.
But here another problem arises. Even if this character existed while I was growing up (who knows, maybe they did), I would most likely not even have a chance to discover them as their film/series would not be a part of mainstream media. After all, we need to admit that equal on-screen representation of the genders will change little if still only films portraying genius male characters will be widely promoted and therefore better known by mass.
If the film industry (mainly Hollywood, which unfortunately is the main supplier of visual content to popular culture) has such a problem with writing and portraying female characters, when will it finally be time to see on the screen well-portrayed, for example, non-binary characters?
What we see on the screens has a big cultural impact.

HPHM Profile: Corbyn Reyes
Thanks to @hogwartsmysterystory for this new profile template!
IDENTITY
Name: Corbyn Samil Reyes
Gender: Cisgender Male
Age: 16
Birth Date: 11/15/1972
Species: Valravaan
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Sexuality: Asexual
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Ethnicity: Slavic
Nationality: Serbian
Residence: Bristol, UK
Myer Briggs Personality Type: ISTJ
THE MAGE
1st Wand: Pine | Dragon heartstring core | 12 ¾" in length | Rigid flexibility
The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others, will adapt without protest to new methods and spells. Many wandmakers insist that pine wands are able to detect and perform best for owners who are destined for long lives, and I can confirm this in as much as I have never personally known the master of a pine wand to die young. The pine wand is one of those that is most sensitive to non-verbal magic.
As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.
2nd Wand: Ebony| Dragon heartstring core.| 11 ¼ “| Unyielding
This jet-black wand wood has an impressive appearance and reputation, being highly suited to all manner of combative magic, and to Transfiguration. Ebony is happiest in the hand of those with the courage to be themselves. Frequently non-conformist, highly individual or comfortable with the status of outsider, ebony wand owners have been found both among the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix and among the Death Eaters. In my experience, the ebony wand’s perfect match is one who will hold fast to his or her beliefs, no matter what the external pressure, and will not be swayed lightly from their purpose.
Animagus: White Cat
Misc Magical Abilities: Parselmouth (currently unaware)
Boggart Form: Being in a hospital gown gaunt and ignored
Riddikulus Form: Dog in an outfit prancing around
Amortentia: The scent of patchouli, rose and teak wood tease the senses while the note of vanilla adds excitement (spicy, the thrill of late summer, mountain flowers)
Amortentia: the earthy scent of a meadow, lavender & coral rose, and the faded scent of butterbeer (Tulip)
Patronus: Cat
Patronus Memory: Camping late at night with Jakov and creating images from the stars
Mirror of Erised: Seeing his mother there, holding him close with a delighted smile of approval and acceptance.
Specialized/Favourite Spells: Caterwauling charm, Confundo, and Diffindo. His favorite is the disillusionment charm.

Faceclaim: Ivan Vuckovic
Game Appearance:

Favorite Professors:
Professor McGonagall -She takes on the role of a mother figure in Corbyn’s eyes. She is stern but only out of a desire to see him succeed. Her admiration for his accomplishments is thus hard-won and genuine.
Professor Sprout - Her gentle nature and willingness to encourage his interest in herbology quickly made her one of his favorite teachers. She is patient and kind, he can always count on her class to be his favorite.
Least Favourite Professors:
Professor Snape - No matter what he does, it’s never good enough. No matter how hard he studies he continually feels inferior. He came to school hoping to escape that type of nonsense.
Professor Rakepick- She’s suspicious. Her methods of teaching don’t sit well with him and it seems as if there are more at stake than just a few house points.
RELATIONSHIPS
Brother: Jakov Callum Reyes | (21yo) 11/271967- Sagittarius
Seer although he never told his family (mother had suspicions)
Woodcarver-aspires to be a wand designer
Is aware that Corbyn is his half-brother
Biological Father: Haedon Knezevic | (35 yo) 4/17/1951 -Aries
Full-blooded Valravan -began life as a raven
Magic is gathered from outside sources rather than from within like wizards
He was locked away under the watchful eye of the Legacies which prevented him from being a part of Corbyn’s early childhood.
Father: Ezekial Reyes | (41yo) 5/9/1947 -Taurus
He married Lilith despite her indiscretions when in his late twenties.
Despite not being his true father, Ezekiel took on the role without question to become the parental figure Corbyn adores. As a role model, he endeavored to teach Corbyn virtues. He can only pray that they stuck with him at Hogwarts.
He was gone often and for long periods of time due to his work. This field of work has caused him to become sick but he keeps this as a secret.
Mother: Lilith Reyes | (38yo) 2/25/1948 - Pisces
Cheated on Ezekiel with Haedon becoming pregnant with Corbyn. He functions as a bitter reminder of everything she lost and of what she could have had.
Lilith is an Ilvermorny Alumni
When Jakov disappeared, Lilith’s smile went with him. A bit of her spirit broke and Corbyn was left with the aftermath of distance and anger.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
While Ezekiel was away on business trips, Jakov often took over the role of parent. As an older sibling, he was expected to make Corbyn mind the rules while also helping his mother. The more often that this occurred, the more that Jakov began to resent his half-brother. The games they played became rougher and bordered on dangerous. Jakov was a teen pushed too early into adulthood and Corbyn was the scapegoat.
Despite this, Corbyn admired Jakov and looked up to him. To him, there were tense times but that did not diminish the genuine fun that they had. He loved Jakov as did their mother. So when news began to circulate about him opening the vaults, their mother was worried something might happen. This was proven correct when they received that fated letter. She was heartbroken. Jakov left and took her maternal love. Corbyn was left with bitterness, resentment, and emotional manipulation. It was here that he realized vulnerability is deadly.
The Reyes had only recently moved to Bristol, UK when they received the news. Corbyn was 9 years old when he realized his brother would not be coming home. Rumors regarding Jakov joining You-Know-Who or his possible death were hard to hear but he continued to defend his brother to the point of coming home bruised and bloodied.
It was debated but Corbyn was allowed to go to Hogwarts in 1984. It wasn’t because his mother was scared of losing him. It was because she was sure he was a squib because he had only a few magical mishaps. She did not want to be further embarrassed by him.
During the first few years at Hogwarts, he befriended several students who demonstrated that vulnerability can be okay and it is sometimes needed. Not only did he learn some interesting spells but he learned of secrets and rumors that caused him to seek out the truth and eventually befriend Chiara.
PERSONALITY
Loyal: This is to a certain extent. Even if you are friends, he might not be loyal until you’ve proven yourself to be worthy of that loyalty. Sure, it is a bit of a test but once that loyalty is won, it is golden.
Self-sufficient: Due to the nature of how he was raised, Corbyn learned early on that the one person he can rely on is himself. Thus, he has a hard time asking for help in any matter. He prefers to solve the problem himself rather than be indebted to anyone.
Clever: Witty. Sarcastic. Corbyn uses words to cut down others or to trick them for profit. He does this because it's one way to look out for himself. If he can trick you, he will continue to do so for as long as possible.
Vindictive: Being a jealous individual isn’t a good look but he hasn’t been able to change. When someone crosses him or especially someone he has befriended (see loyal), then he’s out to assure that this never happens again. He will find your weaknesses and force you to endure them.
Obstinate: While this can sometimes be seen as negative, he is stubborn in the sense that he knows what he stands for and what he wants out of life. He is headstrong so it makes convincing him otherwise to be a headache.
MISC
Likes: intense spices, herbology, pranking his friends, the idea of courting
Dislikes: bananas, excessively sweet things, The Black Lake, not knowing how to swim
Hobbies: working with magical creatures, cooking/grilling, gambling

The more powerful and forceful the Death Eaters became ultimately leading to a war led to him placing more and more protection spells on his home (possibly realizing how bad this all was and backing away a bit from the Death Eaters beliefs)
Passes away in 1979
Mother: Vivian-Caer LaFontaine -
Named after the Lady of the Lake and the Celtic goddess of dreams and transformations known for her beautiful, hypnotic singing voice.
Born in Nice, France
Attended Académie de Magie Beauxbâtons
Moved to Ireland (home of her mother and maternal side of the family) where she eventually met Orion
Passes away in November 1978
(A post about Orion and Vivian-Caer and their relationship to come)
Godfather: Owen Pearce -
Welsh/English heritage
From Prince Edward Island
Played Professional Quidditch in Vancouver where he met his wife
Met Vivian when she travelled over to work with his wife. Developed a brother-sister type relationship with her.
Godmother: Alona Pearce -
First Nations from British Columbia
Practices her culture’s alchemy which is more focused on the elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind) than metals
Met her husband when he searched for a Healer outside his team for his persistent shoulder pain (he didn’t want to just keep drinking potions to manage it)
Met and worked with Vivian when she travelled over for her job. Became fast friends, almost like sisters.
Other:
Remus Lupin - Guardian while she’s in the UK/Ireland and going to school. Calls him “Uncle Remus” (post on their relationship to come)
Nymphadora Tonks - They were very surprised to find out they were related to each other when Tonks confided in Keira her aunt was Bellatrix LeStrange which Keira recognized from the family tree in 12 Grimmauld Place she just recently moved into after Walburga’s passing. Andromeda had been burnt off the tree and her husband and Tonks were never added so Keira had no idea! Call each other cuz/cousins (even though Keira would technically be her aunt but since they’re the same age they feel more like cousins. Keira would call/consider Bellatrix her aunt)
Sirius and Regulus Black - Older half-brothers. Awkward introductions by Orion after Vivian demanded that her kids meet their siblings after having Keira. Neither Keira or Jacob really remember Regulus much after their one time meeting. Sirius however was taken by Vivian’s kindness and warm welcoming, much different than living with his mum, and would sometimes stop by to ‘hang out’ with his little siblings in a much more comfortable environment than at his home. While living with the Potters gave him loving parents he lacked, visiting Vivian, Jacob, and Keira gave him the sibling bonding without feeling like he was competing with them or was lesser than them. (Probably wished he was raised with them like he wished he was raised by the Potters his whole life instead). Continued to write to them when they moved to Canada. Told the Marauders about them.
Alpharden Jacob-Taylor Black - Her big brother, best friend, and partner in crime. It’s them against the world.
Affiliation(s)/ Organization(s):
The Most Ancient and Noble House of Black
Orion - Affiliated with the Death Eaters although never joined himself and possibly began to disagree with them while the threat of war was imminent.
Vivian-Caer - Académie de Magie Beauxbâtons
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Team Canada
Occupation(s):
Vivian-Caer LaFontaine - Magical Historian, Archeologist, and Author specializing in Native cultural beliefs, practices, and artefacts
Owen Pearce - Quidditch Scout/Recruiter, Former Professional Quidditch Keeper
Alona Pearce - Healer and Alchemist
Jacob-Taylor Black - Professional Quidditch Keeper
Adelyn-Keira Black - Student (currently); Curse-Breaker
Magical Characteristics -
Form of Boggart:
Being manipulated and betrayed by her friends/those she cares about, who never truly were her friends/cared about her and only used her
Leaves her feeling humiliated, ashamed, and completely alone praying on her insecurities, trust issues, and pride
Being open and vulnerable and trusting others is hard for her so to do so and then find out it was a lie would be incredibly hard on her and make her feel violated
Realizing and admitting she had been manipulated would be a huge blow to her pride and intelligence. She doesn’t like feeling stupid or being blindsided, prefers to be prepared and have the upperhand.
Form of Patronus: Arctic Fox (might change)
Form of Riddikulus:
(This is such a great question, I’ve never really thought about it and have no real idea what would make this funny)
Maybe her friends laughing, dancing, and messing around together, probably reminiscent of past happy moments.
What do they see in the Mirror of Erised?:
Jacob and her reunited together again
Their mom, godparents, Remus, and some other shadowy silhouettes representing their family
She’s no longer alone and lost and feels supported
Wand(s)
First Wand -Length: Eleven and a half inches -Flexibility: Solid -Wood: Hazel -Core: Undine Hair Description:
Hazel often reflects its owner’s emotional state, and works best for a master who understands and can manage their own feelings. Others should be very careful handling a hazel wand if its owner has recently lost their temper, or suffered a serious disappointment, because the wand will absorb such energy and discharge it unpredictably. The positive aspect of a hazel wand more than makes up for such minor discomforts, however, for it is capable of outstanding magic in the hands of the skillful, and is so devoted to its owner that it often ‘wilts’ at the end of its master’s life (if the core is unicorn hair, however, there is no hope; the wand will almost certainly have ‘died’). Hazel wands also have the unique ability to detect water underground, and will emit silvery, tear-shaped puffs of smoke if passing over concealed springs and wells.
Undine Hair Core - (Swear I wrote something about this but I can’t find it!) From grandmother (possibly her mom’s old wand); Elegant spell casting; Temperamental but loyal; Skilled in Transfigurations and Charms.
Solid - Extremely loyal. Owners of this wand are generally known for their reliability, their friendliness, and their character. They may find it difficult to understand views that differ from their own but are usually able to politely disagree. (Not exactly sold on all the flexibilities but nbd)
Stained grey with detailed carvings
Second Wand:
-Length: Eleven and a quarter inches -Flexibility: Hard -Wood: Ebony -Core: Dragon Heartstring. Description:
This jet-black wand wood has an impressive appearance and reputation, being highly suited to all manner of combative magic, and to Transfiguration. Ebony is happiest in the hand of those with the courage to be themselves. Frequently non-conformist, highly individual or comfortable with the status of outsider. In my experience the ebony wand’s perfect match is one who will hold fast to his or her beliefs, no matter what the external pressure, and will not be swayed lightly from their purpose.
Dragon Heartstring Core - Produces wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.Tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. Somewhat temperamental.
Hard - Loyalty is not easily won. Great for complex and advanced levels of magic. This type of wand is best suited for wizards and witches who are gifted, stubborn, and never give up. Some people may find them intimidating or difficult to approach. (Not exactly sold on all the flexibilities but nbd)
Black with a slight sheen, carved out handle
Third Wand (What?! Yes =p):
-Length: Eleven inches -Flexibility: Surprisingly Swishy -Wood: Blue Spruce -Core: Undine Hair Description:
First Nations have used Blue Spruce for medicinal and ceremonial purposes, twigs given as gifts for good fortune - therefore, this type of wand is more commonly passed down as a gift rather than bought, typically done in families; this may mean this wand chooses those who have strong ties to their families. Also like other spruces, the Blue Spruce does not do well in nervous, cautious hands but will bond to its chosen partner, typically a bold spell-caster with a good sense of humour, be intensely loyal, and capable of producing dramatic effects. However, while other spruce variations may be hardier, the Blue Spruce is more flexible and adaptable. It has also been shown to do well with non-verbal magic.
Undine Hair - Elegant spell casting; Temperamental but loyal; Skilled in Transfigurations and Charms.
Surprisingly Swishy - Either is surprisingly loyal or surprisingly unloyal and is most often known for doing the unexpected. Great for charm work. Owners that are matched with wands of this flexibility are usually the type of people who have a hard time coming out of their shell or opening up, but once they do, others will find themselves drawn to their charming, fun-loving personalities. The owner usually adapts well to unexpected changes but may find it difficult to make hard decisions. (Not exactly sold on all the flexibilities but nbd)
Gift passed down from her mom (given by her godmother since her birth mother is dead); Her mom (with help of her godmother) chose and had this wand made for her to be given to her (as well as one for Jacob as well).
Silvery-Blue with intricate symbolic carvings and carved out handle
(Post about Keira’s different wands and her personal growth to come)
Animagus: Arctic Fox
Amortentia:
Rain/Petrichor (reminds her of the Quidditch Pitch which she associates with Jacob; rain has always been very calming and peaceful for her)
Salty Sea Air (reminds her of her mom and Jacob)
Honeysuckle (reminds her of Charlie and the burrow/Weasley family)
Chocolate (reminds her of Remus)
Maple (reminds of her Canada and her ‘adopted’ parents)
Appearance -
Height: 5′6″ / 169 cm
Weight: ~135-145 lbs
(Currently probably around 135, but when she starts training and competing in the World Cup over the summer and for Year 6 will gain more muscle)
Complexion(skin tone/ conditions):
Pale
Cold to the touch, particularly hands and feet (ice cold =p)
Somewhat sensitive skin, becomes red easily
Commonly has some bruises from Quidditch and Cursed-Vaults adventures.
Earns some scars as well from Quidditch and Cursed-Vaults adventures.
Watermark - her skin will begin to grow scales if she doesn’t regularly consume water or submerges herself in it; quite painful.
Hair Color/ Style:
Black with hint of red, primarily visible in the sunlight.
Has a natural wave to it.
Length is either to bottom of shoulder blades or just above the tops of the shoulders - When she started Hogwarts her hair was longer but cut it shorter for Fifth year and will probably keep that length for a while.
Normally wears it down or up in a ponytail. Sometimes will put it up in a messy bun mainly to get it up out of her face and off her neck.
She can wake up with it looking perfect/”perfectly messy” - Classic House of Black Hair =p
Eye Color: Grey-Blue
Hogwarts Information -
Worst Class(es):
Herbology - No green thumb and she doesn’t really like digging around in the soil/fertilizer and getting her hands literally dirty.
Potions - She just hates this class because Snape can be such an arse to her because of Jacob (and Sirius) and while sometimes it can be fun for her to exchange quips with him other times it is very distracting and he’s not at all helpful when she’s trying to learn how to brew potions. (He was much worse towards Jacob though).
Elective: Arithmancy - Just no. She’ll let Bill handle that =p
Best Class(es):
Charms - She loves Professor Flitwick and truly does love this subject and has shown a natural talent for it.
Defense Against the Dark Arts - She has a protective nature and fighting spirit, enjoys fighting/duelling and the rush of adrenaline
History of Magic - Actually likes history, although she may not exactly enjoy the boring lectures by Professor Binns, she does love reading and learning about the subject on her own. Also likes getting to have a sort of free period with her friends.
Elective: Alchemy - Her ‘adopted’ mom piqued her interest in the subject and she is eager to learn all aspects of it even if she has to demand to be taught this course as a lone student interested in it.
Least Favourite Teacher(s):
Professor Snape - While they have a more complex relationship than he has with Jacob (or Sirius) and he treated Jacob way worse than her, Keira struggles a lot in Potions because of the lack of help from Snape and his constant hatred towards members of her family. Although they are able to get along sometimes, normally when it benefits them both, or when it’s a sort of Slytherin vs. others type of situation. Even though he can give her a hard time Keira still teases him that he truly likes her deep, deep...deep down. (If he hasn’t yet,) I headcanon that he does teach her Sectumsempra. (But she will never forgive him for what he does to Remus)
Professor Trelawney - Seriously?! How is she supposed to take this class and this Professor seriously? She can’t. This class is riddikulus.
Favourite Teacher(s):
Professor Flitwick - He has always been on of her favourite teachers - great teacher, passion for his job, kind and helpful to his students, overall and understanding and warm person. But what really does it for her is Flitwick’s views on Werewolves. She hates ever having to lie to him and honestly tries not to.
Quidditch:
Beater (Joins team in Year Four)
Captain (Year Five-Year Seven)
World Cup Champion - Team Canada (1990 - summer before Year Seven)
Favourite Spell(s):
Any water/ice or fire related spells (e.g. Aguamenti, Aqua Erecto, Glacius, Freeze, Incendio, Firestorm, Flagrante Curse, Fumos)
Any spells that can knock back an opponent or cause an explosion (e.g. Bombarda, Confringo, Depulso, Everte Statum)
Snowflake-creating spell
Protego
Carpe Retractum
Sectumsempra
Arania Exumai (she hates spiders!)
Cantis (yes she will make people burst into song =p)
Trivia -
(Random facts about them, future job, face claim, theme song, etc.)
Random Facts:
Speaks English and French, and knows a little Russian, ISL/Irish, and Carrier
Plays piano
Jacob was supposed to teach her to play guitar
Hat stall between Slytherin and Ravenclaw
Slytherin Prefect
Has a Siamese Cat
INFJ-A
Probably a True Neutral (or somewhere on the Neutral spectrum)
Uncomfortably with physical affection and needs plenty of time to feel comfortable with someone before engaging. (Honestly probably took until Year 5 for her to comfortably hug her friends, although some she felt more comfortable with sooner than others like Tonks)
Beautiful singing voice, used to be shy about it but grows to be more confident with it (and in general) since she does love to sing - also didn’t like singing without Jacob though
Normally good at hiding her negative emotions
Can become overwhelmed and anxious which causes her to submerge herself in the nearest body of water to calm herself down (e.g. Black Lake, Prefect’s Bath, Courtyard Fountain) Might be because of her Undine genes but being underwater quiets everything down and helps her calm down and brings a sense of peace
Wants to be able to create her own spells like Badeea - teach her the ways!
Fiercely protective of those she cares about, primarily Remus
Receives and sends out a care package once a month from and to “Uncle Remus” - normally filled with chocolate (and wolfsbane which she takes to making after learning how)
A female Sirius =p
Can be quite flirtatious as long as there are no real feelings behind it (she doesn’t believe anyone would actually be interested in her romantically, surprised she even has friends who like her for her, but if someone convinced her they did have feelings for her she might not know how to function =p)
Moves into 12 Grimmauld Place after Walburga passes (and no one else is doing anything with it!)
Moves Barnaby in with her officially summer before Year Six (even though summer before Year Five her basically spent all his time there and stayed with Keira either there or at Hogwarts during the holidays)
Her interest in History most likely stems from her mom
Her mom spending time in Egypt as a Historian/Archeologist before she was born probably influences Keira to become a Curse-Breaker there to feel a sort of connection to her mom - like maybe she explored this tomb too or shopped at this market. Maybe someone here worked with her and remembers her. (Not just about Bill =p)
Sentimental Items - Celtic Warrior Ring (given by her mom to her and Jacob); a quilt made by her mom (on for her and one for Jacob); an old Golden Snitch from Jacob; a House of Black crest cameo necklace
Has no interest or plans to get married or have children
Gifted Bill his leather jacket (that becomes a signature look for him =p)
Future Job: Curse-Breaker (with her partner Bill Weasley)
Face-claim:
Megan Fox
Or Alexandra Daddario
Bonus: Jacob & Keira (although she’d probably never wear pink =p)
Tagging (if you haven’t done it already and want to): @bluerosesburnblue @arnyan @gryffinpuffthunderbird @jadeowl19 @cptaincarswell @changeling-fae

grizz -
house: gryffindor
wand: ebony, dragon core, 12 1/2 in, unbending
This jet-black wand wood has an impressive appearance and reputation, being highly suited to all manner of combative magic, and to Transfiguration. Ebony is happiest in the hand of those with the courage to be themselves. Frequently non-conformist, highly individual or comfortable with the status of outsider, ebony wand owners have been found both among the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix and among the Death Eaters. In my experience the ebony wand’s perfect match is one who will hold fast to his or her beliefs, no matter what the external pressure, and will not be swayed lightly from their purpose.
- garrick ollivander
patronus: abraxan winged horse
A breed of winged horse, gigantic in size and extremely powerful. They are selective eaters and usually require forceful handling. As a Patronus, they represent power, determination, and a free spirit. - mugglenet
panpan -
house: hufflepuff
wand: vine, dragon core, 11 3/4 in, quite bendy
The druids considered anything with a woody stem as a tree, and vine makes wands of such a special nature that I have been happy to continue their ancient tradition. Vine wands are among the less common types, and I have been intrigued to notice that their owners are nearly always those witches or wizards who seek a greater purpose, who have a vision beyond the ordinary and who frequently astound those who think they know them best. Vine wands seem strongly attracted by personalities with hidden depths, and I have found them more sensitive than any other when it comes to instantly detecting a prospective match. Reliable sources claim that these wands can emit magical effects upon the mere entrance into their room of a suitable owner, and I have twice observed the phenomenon in my own shop.
- garrick ollivander
patronus: deerhound
As the name suggests, the Deerhound is a large sighthound bred in Scotland to hunt deer. A Scottish Deerhound named Cleod played Padfoot in Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix. Although they were bred for hunting, Deerhounds are gentle dogs with a very friendly nature. Deerhounds are eager to please and will happily drive away Dementors with their irresistible urge to chase their prey! - mugglenet
ice bear -
house: slytherin
wand: acacia, dragon core, 12 1/2 in, quite bendy
A very unusual wand wood, which I have found creates tricky wands that often refuse to produce magic for any but their owner, and also withhold their best effects from all but those most gifted. This sensitivity renders them difficult to place, and I keep only a small stock for those witches or wizards of sufficient subtlety, for acacia is not suited to what is commonly known as ‘bangs-and-smells’ magic. When well-matched, an acacia wand matches any for power, though it is often underrated due to the peculiarity of its temperament.
- garrick ollivander
patronus: great gray owl
This Patronus is small but strong. It has intense focus and is very tolerant. People with this Patronus tend to be good listeners and strive to march to the beat of their own drum. - mugglenet

Sky One’s Intergalactic Cast: Where Have You Seen Parminder Nagra, Craig Parkinson and Eleanor Tomlinson before?
https://ift.tt/3nqTgvi
Sky One sci-fi Intergalactic is part conspiracy thriller, part prison break drama, and all space romp. It’s set 150 years in the future, when all of Earth’s nations have united into a single authority known as the Commonworld, and a new element has enabled Earth’s people to escape ecological collapse and colonise other planets via intergalactic travel. Over eight episodes, available to stream as a box-set on NOW, we follow a group of female fugitives searching for freedom and uncovering long-buried lies.
The cast has been gathered from far and wide, ranging from relative newcomers to TV like Diany Samba-Bandza to more familiar faces Natasha O’Keeffe, Thomas Turgoose and Eleanor Tomlinson, and established actors Parminder Nagra, Craig Parkinson and Neil Maskell. Here’s who everybody is playing, and the major roles where you may have encountered them before.
Oliver Coopersmith as Echo Nantu-Rose
Coopersmith plays space pirate Echo in Intergalactic, his next major TV role since criminal Whitey Brown opposite Tim Roth in Sky Atlantic’s Canadian-set crime thriller Tin Star. Before that, he wooed Martha Cratchit as John Bagnet in BBC One’s Dickensian, starred opposite Maisie Williams in sci-fi thriller iBoy and played a Synth terrorist bomber in season three of Channel 4-AMC co-production Humans. Follow him on Instagram here.
Imogen Daines as Verona Flores
Criminal cyber hacker Verona is RADA graduate Daines’ first major TV role, following appearances in Netflix’s The Witcher, and Black Mirror episode ‘Hated in the Nation’, alongside Kelly Macdonald and Faye Marsay. Daines’ The Witcher character is sex worker Danica – seen in bed with Geralt in a flashback – who’s rumoured to be returning for season two. Follow her on Instagram here.
Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Tula Quik
A regular collaborator with Russell T. Davies since she appeared in Doctor Who episode ‘The Waters of Mars‘, Duncan-Brewster also appeared in Davies’ Cucumber, and played storyteller Fran Baxter in future-set dystopia Years & Years. Playing Crystal in ITV prison drama Bad Girls was good preparation for her Intergalactic role as dangerous gangster and drug dealer Tula, mother to cyber-enhanced fighter Genevieve (see below). With a long screen career, Duncan-Brewster has appeared in several major UK shows, from EastEnders to Netflix’s Sex Education. Follow her on Instagram here.
Neil Maskell as Wendell
Neil Maskell plays Ash Harper’s Commonworld cop boss Wendell in Intergalactic, and is a much-loved face from UK comedy and drama with a long and varied screen career. For fans of Channel 4 cult series Utopia, he’ll always be associated with the unforgettable role of asthmatic hitman Arby. Recently, he’s appeared in Steve McQueen’s ‘Red, White and Blue’ Small Axe film opposite John Boyega, ITV’s Cleaning Up, Channel 4 thriller Baghdad Central, and played Winston Churchill in Peaky Blinders. He’s also been in comedies No Offence and King Gary, and was part of Channel 4-AMC’s Humans.
Parminder Nagra as Rebecca Harper
No-nonsense Rebecca is Head of Galactic Security for the Commonworld, and mother to skycop Ash (see below). She works alongside government leader Dr Lee (Craig Parkinson) in Intergalactic. Nagra’s first major screen role was opposite Keira Knightley in 2002’s Bend it Like Beckham , which she followed up with the regular role of Neela in ER. That led to plenty more US TV roles, including parts in Alcatraz, Psych, The Blacklist, Agents of SHIELD and Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why.

Craig Parkinson as Dr Benedict Lee
Dr Lee is a high status scientist and leader of the Commonworld government who works alongside Head of Security Rebecca Parker. You’ll also have seen Parkinson recently in Sky’s Temple, and Netflix’s Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and football-themed period drama The English Game. Follow him on Twitter here.
Natasha O’Keeffe as Dr Emma Grieves
O’Keeffe plays a mysterious political prisoner with plenty of secrets on board the Hemlock prison ship in Intergalactic. Her most famous roles to date for readers of this site will be as Abbey in the final series of Misfits and as Lizzie in BBC gangster drama Peaky Blinders. She’s also been in Sky’s Temple, plays the ex of lead Cormoran Strike in the BBC adaptations of JK Rowling’s detective novels, and made a memorable appearance in the Sherlock Christmas special as Emelia Ricoletti, the titular bride from The Abominable Bride. Diany Samba-Bandza as Genevieve Quik
Samba-Bandza plays the lethal Genevieve, daughter of Sharon Duncan-Brewster’s gang leader Tula. A relative TV newcomer, Diany Samba-Banza has previously played an MI5 agent in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and appeared in ITV2’s The Stand-Up Sketch Show. Follow her on Instagram here.
Savannah Steyn as Ash Harper
Ash is the series lead, a talented pilot and skycop for the Commonworld authorities, her mother is the government’s high-ranking Head of Security and her father is commemorated as a pilot killed by anti-Commonworld terrorists when Ash was three years old. Intergalactic is Steyn’s biggest TV role to date, following roles in Sky crime drama The Tunnel and BBC Three comedy Wannabe.
Eleanor Tomlinson as Candy Skov-King
Candy is an ‘evolved human’ or alien from the Aurean galaxy, and a drug user whose addiction has landed her in debt to gang leader Tula (see above). She’s played by Eleanor Tomlinson who is best recognised for the role of Demelza in BBC One’s period drama Poldark, as well as other BBC dramas including 2019’s The War of the Worlds and 2018 Agatha Christie drama Ordeal By Innocence. She plays Mary Brighton in Victorian-set fantasy series The Nevers, arriving on Sky in the UK this May. She’s on Instagram here.
Thomas Turgoose as Drew Bunchanon
Drew is a kind-hearted guard who finds himself wrapped up in the Hemlock prison break. He’s played by Thomas Turgoose, who came to fame in Shane Meadows’ This is England film and spin-off TV series. That led to a role in another Meadows project, Somers Town, followed by several more films including Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and the part of a Lannister solider in an episode of Game of Thrones. More recently, he’s in Creation Records biopic Creation Stories, available on NOW. Follow him on Instagram here.

The Long Goodbye (1973) Elliot Gould
Day 18 A film that stars your favourite actor/actress The Long Goodbye (1973) Elliot Gould
At the time, Elliot Gould might not have been seen as the perfect actor to play the role of iconic detective Phillip Marlowe. Because, unlike Humphrey Bogart, Elliott Gould was not your typical Hollywood star. However he turned out to be the perfect choice to embody a contemporary 1970's Marlowe as seen by director Robert Altman.
Gould lends a very different performance of Marlowe than what had come before. This time round, the private detective is being driven by uncertainty. He's a relaxed man, a disheveled man, a man trying to make sense of the things around him, and while they appear to not make sense anymore. He talks to himself a lot. A man out of time and place, a non conformist, he drives a 1940's car, is not married, nor has a girlfriend, because, in his own words "I have a cat". It wouldn't be hard to feel the weight on his shoulders but that is not what this Marlowe conveys. He is laid back with a "Its okay with me" attitude. He takes it in his stride, maintains a cool composure, despite the out of control circumstances he finds around him, he never fails to loose his balance, choosing to resort to firing out sarcastic, deadpan lines when feeling threatened. Elliot Gould gives one of his finest performances of his career.
Tony Soprano once asked "What ever happened to Gary Cooper, the strong and silent type?" Well that could easily be asked about Elliot Gould. Now semi retired, he is an actor tending to prefer the quiet life and to live it away from the public eye, while still conveying the qualities of a modest man, especially present in his interviews and when he is looking back and examining his large body of work in cinema.
"I was changing a light bulb over Groucho Marx's bed, so I took my shoes off, got on his bed and changed the bulb. When I got off the bed he said: 'That's the best acting you've ever done". - Elliott Gould

Mysme + Ollivanders
Inspired a lot by this post, here are my thoughts about which wands would choose each of the individual characters in mysme. Full credits to @faeriexqueen who wrote the original in regards to D Gray Man characters.
All core and material information is from Pottermore
Jumin
Pine, Phoenix Feather, flexible,11 1/2 inches
The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others, will adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells. [x]
The independent, mysterious loner sounds a lot like how Jumin comes across at the beginning of the game. What’s more, we know he’s creative and willing to try new methods, as he is very good at his job, in which adapting to new markets and strategies sits at the core of e v e r y t h i n g.
I chose phoenix feather for the core, as its best known trait is detachment and the fact that it is so difficult to win their allegiance. Jumin is one of the most emotionally detached of the RFA and it can take a little longer than most for him to open up out of his shell.
V
Black Walnut, Unicorn Hair, slightly flexible, 10 3/4 inches
It has one pronounced quirk, which is that it is abnormally attuned to inner conflict, and loses power dramatically if its possessor practises any form of self-deception. If the witch or wizard is unable or unwilling to be honest with themselves or others, the wand often fails to perform adequately and must be matched with a new owner if it is to regain its former prowess. [x]
I think we all know why a wand attuned to inner conflict would be perfect for V. I chose unicorn hair for the core as they are “prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled”, which again. Is perfect for V. ;w;
Zen
Ebony, Dragon heartstring, rigid, 10 inches
Ebony is happiest in the hand of those with the courage to be themselves. Frequently non-conformist, highly individual or comfortable with the status of outsider, ebony wand owners have been found both among the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix and among the Death Eaters. In my experience the ebony wand’s perfect match is one who will hold fast to his or her beliefs, no matter what the external pressure, and will not be swayed lightly from their purpose. [x]
Zen is proud of his individual looks and history, so much so that he often comes across as a narcissist. He is also very stubborn when it comes to the handling of his career, sticking firm to his beliefs about accepting handouts, even when such decisions potentially do more harm than good.
Add to this the fact that dragon heartstring cores have the most power and are associated with flamboyance, and I think it is perfect for Zen.
Jaehee
Maple, Unicorn Hair, slightly rigid, 12 inches
I have often found that those chosen by maple wands are by nature travellers and explorers; they are not stay-at-home wands, and prefer ambition in their witch or wizard, otherwise their magic grows heavy and lacklustre. Fresh challenges and regular changes of scene cause this wand to literally shine, burnishing itself as it grows, with its partner, in ability and status. [x]
The conflict in Jaehee’s route is the fact that at some point in her life she fell into a rut in her career and stopped following her dreams. A wand that grows lacklustre over time if not given the proper chance to really shine sounds perfect for her.
I chose unicorn hair for the core, as they are known for consistency and are the least capable of being turned to the Dark Arts, which I think rings true of Jaehee, who has the fewest reasons to join Mint Eye.
Yoosung
Sycamore, Dragon heartstring, flexible, 9 3/4 inches
The sycamore makes a questing wand, eager for new experience and losing brilliance if engaged in mundane activities. It is a quirk of these handsome wands that they may combust if allowed to become ‘bored,’ and many witches and wizards, settling down into middle age, are disconcerted to find their trusty wand bursting into flame in their hand as they ask it, one more time, to fetch their slippers. [x]
Yoosung lost a lot of his spark while studying at college, allowing his studies to fall apart while eagerly seeking out the thrill of LOLOL. A sycamore wand sounds right up his alley, especially given that in every route, his actions have very similar consequences to a wand bursting into flame.
I chose a dragon heartstring for him, for dragon heartstrings are prone to accidents and temperamental in the same sense that Yoosung is constantly falling for pranks, but also because dragon heartstring wands are the easiest to turn to the dark arts.... but never of their own accord.
707
Hawthorn, Phoenix Feather, flexible, 10 inches
Hawthorn wands may be particularly suited to healing magic, but they are also adept at curses, and I have generally observed that the hawthorn wand seems most at home with a conflicted nature, or with a witch or wizard passing through a period of turmoil. Hawthorn is not easy to master, however, and I would only ever consider placing a hawthorn wand in the hands of a witch or wizard of proven talent, or the consequences might be dangerous. Hawthorn wands have a notable peculiarity: their spells can, when badly handled, backfire. [x]
Seven has a conflicted nature, of which we are very familiar. Add on the period of turmoil that...well...is basically his life from the agency onwards and the hawthorn wand is pretty perfect.
I added the phoenix feather core both because of its detachment but also because of its tendency to act of its own accord, which reminds me a lot of Seven’s tendency to pull pranks on the other members as well as his activities as a hacker.
Saeran
Hornbeam, Unicorn Hair, slightly rigid, 11 3/4 inches
hornbeam selects for its life mate the talented witch or wizard with a single, pure passion, which some might call obsession (though I prefer the term ‘vision’), which will almost always be realised. Hornbeam wands adapt more quickly than almost any other to their owner’s style of magic, and will become so personalised, so quickly, that other people will find them extremely difficult to use even for the most simple of spells. Hornbeam wands likewise absorb their owner’s code of honour, whatever that might be, and will refuse to perform acts - whether for good or ill - that do not tally with their master’s principles. A particularly fine-tuned and sentient wand. [x]
Saeran has always had one singular passion. When he was younger, it was seeing the sky. When he got older it was having revenge on his bro. In both cases, it was one, singular obsession. Similarly, Hornbeam’s capacity to personalise itself to its owner sounds very similar to Saeran’s enthusiasm for getting the Mint Eye tattoo in what was likely an underground parlour, having taken on Rika’s code of honour not of his own accord of course. Saeran’s conflicted nature, going from an innocent kid to Unknown within the space of a few years would be very interesting in light of a hornbeam wand.
I chose a unicorn hair core because they are known for loyalty and are not swayed to the dark arts easily.
Rika
Vine, Phoenix feather, rigid, 9 1/2 inches
Vine wands are among the less common types, and I have been intrigued to notice that their owners are nearly always those witches or wizards who seek a greater purpose, who have a vision beyond the ordinary and who frequently astound those who think they know them best. Vine wands seem strongly attracted by personalities with hidden depths, and I have found them more sensitive than any other when it comes to instantly detecting a prospective match. [x]
I chose vine for Rika because she sought a greater purpose and constantly astounded the other members of the RFA in terms of her seemingly bright personality and desire to help other people. She also did have other depths, of course.
Originally I was going to give Rika the dragon heartstring core because of its tendencies to fall into the dark arts. In the end, though, I chose the phoenix feather core, as it is detached and acts of its own accord. Rika was far more detached from the RFA than she appeared to be and created Mint Eye despite V’s warnings not to do so.

ManagementStrategy
This service significantly reduces the risk associated with importing cargo.Anyone who's spent time exploring and creating a product understands that combined with the hours and effort that enter it comes a whole lot of passion and pride. It might be a thing that consumers will use, a tool or a drug that can improve people's lives. But in order to Quality management a product and have a chance show the world how good it is, you need to be certain it will pass a quality control inspection. That is where the product, spent with pride and all that fire, comes under fire. And it is going to get to be almost-perfect to pass. Thankfully, inspection software can be obtained to assist you and your team get everything directly from the start. In sequence to make sure that your products will pass quality control reviews, you have to guarantee appropriate conditions and procedures in the manufacturing facility. Auditing and inspecting these factories to make certain they meet your rigorous standards is a vital step toward ideal product, but there's still a chance that problems will slide through the cracks and cause your product to be rejected or labeled as unsafe. One of their most frequent causes of an inspection that fails to identify issues is that the contractor responsible has not received sufficient instruction. We have found that lots of purchasing offices expect their new hires to find out the job from experienced colleagues, instead of giving them the essential training to understand both review procedures and product-specific issues.Another reason standardized instruction is so crucial is that newly-hired inspectors can arrive at your purchasing office with loads of abilities but also bad habits they've picked up from where they were before. If these are permitted to spread like a virus across another staff, it can result in real problems.Bad habits can include not performing the whole Quality management number of checks, picking the most convenient samples or just rushing the work through. In any company, you want your employees to be moved, and it's vital for quality inspectors due to the character of their job. If they are motivated and aren't taking pride in their job they won't do a thorough job. That is human nature, and it is something you want to prevent setting in. Finding ways to inspire your inspectors will ensure that defective goods are picked up.There's no sense in being euphemistic here. The easy truth is when they are visiting factories that inspectors can be susceptible to bribes, persuasion and coercion. It can take the kind of actual money changing hands or just factory reps understanding to feel indebted to them, or how to acquire the inspector on their own side.
Whatever the reason, quality contractor corruption destroys the integrity of the review, the product and everybody involved. It's clear what damage could be done by an excessive amount of collaboration between factories and inspectors, but it's also possible that too little cooperation can occur and also negatively influence the results of the inspection. This can take the kind of time wasting, staff not available to select items, equipment not being supplied and inadequate time being permitted for the inspection to take place, meaning that it has rushed and issues are missed. The best Quality management have very specific processes which have to be followed to ensure that the end product quality does not slide. Therefore it only makes sense that the quality inspections are done via an equally rigorous procedure? Unfortunately, this is frequently not the case, meaning that there is not any consistency in how inspections are completed, allowing lots of the problems above to proceed unchecked.A important point of contention during and following inspections is what constitutes a defective item. Inspectors need to go armed with a visual checklist in the very least back up and confirm their findings and avoid dispute.Like anyone in their own position, quality inspectors want the proper tools to help them do the job correctly. Inspectors using the wrong tools will not have the ability to perform their inspections successfully, therefore a checklist must be kept to guarantee consistency in the quality of the tools provided and the way that they have been calibrated.Take the bio pharmaceutical company Ocular such as. Similar troubles were faced by them with the FDA over problems with their new medication. The medication supplies greater control over steroid Quality management to doctors and makes eye surgery recovery burdensome on patients. Regrettably, it has been set back and rejected due to inefficient inspection procedures.Inspections that fail to discover nonconformists, and stop goods from attaining an Acceptable Quality Level, may have a catastrophic impact on the production you've worked so hard to perfect. The great news is, just introducing quality control software in your process can go a long way toward giving your product its best chance at success. QC software is easy-to-use and supplies inspectors with all the information that they need to detect, correct, and avoid non conformists via mobile forms technologies .Also, implementing QC software will ensure your reviews are more effective, your workers are better educated, and your answer plans are somewhat more efficient than everbefore. You'll avoid the bad press that comes along with inspections that are unsuccessful while demonstrating a commitment to your company's quality standards.
Finally, inspection applications helps you implement a documentation management program, which means that you may make sure that every QC inspection is ready and available to show your compliance when necessary. No one wants their product to struggle on its own very last step toward achievement. Inspection applications result in failures, or harm your brand can help catch and fix mistakes before they become deal breakers. Quality control at each phase of Quality management is an integral facet of any organization's quality control system. Inspection at various stages of production is essential to attain required quality of the product. This knowledge area has been studied extensively to inspection approaches, review place, and inspection periods to minimize review price. But, is a lack of literature which examines variables related to inspection time and labour of goods and the relationship between inspection performance. Here, offline inspection is investigated to achieve the process target values by specifying the optimal number of inspectors for different products. The objective of this research is to achieve the optimum results of objective functions that include review price, outgoing quality, and review quantity by deciding the best value of decision variables, i.e., the number of inspectors connected to their ability. A multi-objective optimization model is developed using a stochastic approach to determine the results of decision factors and their objective functions. Firstly, goal programming is employed to confirm the optimization model using numerical examples. Sensitivity analysis is deemed to illustrate the impact of Quality management quantity. Source reviews are finished in the provider prior to shipment to your facility. Inspectors are supplied detailed work instructions which can be written for a broader part kind or for the part. Source inspections would be the initial step in the procedure which tests for non conformance and defects, prior to next assembly and determination of manufacturing order quantity. These provider inspections affirm compliance with engineering drawings and test items like forgings and castings before production starts. Skill level identification and instrument recording are handled at each step to ensure compliance and tractability of tool usage (in case the tool is discovered to be out of tolerance). Source inspections can be performed by external or internal providers based on your degree of delegation.A receiving review serves as a gate keeper prior to your product attaining your stock.
