Why is no one talking about how when Mel figured out that wasn't really her brother she just full out no hesitation bashed its skull in (or tried to). Girl realized the problem and hit the puppet with so much strength she split the magical wall. Mel Medarda queen that you are what is happening to you

The thing about Koji, Caine and John as a trio that I couldn't get enough of is even though we never see all three together at any point in the movie, we can practically know how the brotherly dynamics between them would be just based on the interactions between any two individuals.
Koji is the wise, mature, protective older brother who seemingly has all of his shit together but is internally tired.
Caine is the chaotic middle child who is so bored and cannot be bothered with anything except for his next meal.
And John is the youngest sibling who's actually the most dangerous of them all and cleans his brothers' shit up.
It also helps that this lines up with their actors' respective ages. (Hiroyuki is 63, Donnie is 60, Keanu is 59)

Saw something similar on a Space battles post where someone listed their favorite (and least favorite) non Star Wars characters and what flavor of force sensitive they would be in a Galaxy Far Far Away. Since I don't have an account there I'm throwing my two cents here: • Faves: o Mulan: I saw fan art of her as a Mandalorian Jedi and that sounds like her. She’s a classic antihero in that she has some non-heroic self-confidence issues etc. but these stem more from gender role than morality. I think she could make a good, unconventional Jedi. o Wei Wuxian: A podcast convinced me he’d be a Jedi (if with some creepy powers). He doesn’t let attachments stop him from doing the right thing. His skill at code switching (?) in a way that would make him a good diplomat if he tampers down on eliciting reactions. o Temeraire: Oh, much as I love him his attachment to Laurence lends itself easily to Anakin’s fate. Which would be terrifying since he is a ship-sized dragon whose roar can shatter rock like glass. Adding Sith powers on top of that? Let's move along now… o O-Chul: No brainer he’s a paladin’s paladin in all the best ways except charisma. As Jedi prize wisdom more he would actually make an even better Jedi than he would a D&D 3.5e paladin/fighter and he's already really good at the latter. An undead lich can’t make him Fall so I can't see him ever going to the Dark Side. o Brianne of Tarth: I'm putting her on this list just to give her a chance to live her best life as a Jedi Knight in a world that wouldn't mock her looks or look down on her gender. And yes, she would be a good Jedi with a lack of conflicting oaths keeping her from Falling. • Anti-Blorbos: o Umbridge: She’s no Jedi but I can't exactly see her as a Sith. Not that she has a shred of compassion or morality but she just seems too banal and buried in the ministry of magic institution to properly pursue the horrors of Sithhood. She never became a death eater either. Plus the Sith would either kick her out or kill her in short order. o Jeoffrey: Definitely a Sith – he has exactly that kind of power hunger and desire for absolute authority. But all he's really got going for him is his privilege and even among the sith that is not going to be enough. He’s definitely gonna be backstabbed early. o Tarquin: He’d be Sith no question. In Order of the Stick he thinks he's a bigger bad than he is though which in Star Wars might translate into thinking he's the Master when he's the apprentice. Which would see him disposed of in a satisfyingly humiliating manner in short order. o Visser 3: would also a Sith and I must preemptively apologize to the Animorphs for it because between the shapeshifting into the Galaxy’s most terrifying monsters, the lightsaber(s), Sith powers and skill at open warfare conquest he could be what Darth Vader wishes he’d become. The poor Animorphs! o Mariel of Redwall: despite my saltiness about her (or more accurately how the author wrote her), I don't think she would be a Sith. I'm not so certain about her being a Jedi even though she's on the side of heroes – her personality starts out a bit abrasive and she focuses more on personal goals. Maybe later in life which would at least give her the justice of getting an actual weapon instead of that lame-ass knotted rope.

No actually I need to add on more to this. Arcane very unfortunately suffers the same issue that a lot of "progressive" shows suffer in Western media, where they go like "here are some real, systemic issues that exist and look at the consequences of these issues", and then either (1) forget to continue with the theme, and/or (2) don't do anything about it beyond slap on a half-hearted Band-Aid solution that never addresses it.
Caitlyn gassing civilians; lack of accessibility for Viktor which created barriers for him due to his disability; enforcers as oppressors, going hand in hand with Noxian imperialism; Jayce weaponzing hextech, and him already having killed a child because of it; not a single moment is really spent on any of these in S2. If anything, the enforcers are really flattened at the end of this season with little nuance, the complexity that shone in characters like Marcus and Grayson disappearing. Many Piltovan characters do not get even a single second of introspection as to how their actions actively contribute to the oppression of Zaun.

If you’re in a relationship and every time you want to buy something for yourself, even something really frivolous, you feel like you can’t do it because of how your partner will react if they find out…why? Like, what is that? There’s so much “tee hee I’ll have to hide this parcel from them” or “omg I’ll be in trouble if I buy ANOTHER pair of shoes” and like unless you’re being financially irresponsible to the point where you won’t be able to contribute your half to a shared expense and you’re leaving the other person with an unfair difference to make up or something, why do they give a shit how you spend your money?

I think it's really funny that the only people that could scare John Wick ever in the entire franchise are Akira "glaring dagger eyes for even getting near my father" Shimazu and Caine "blind man who kills people with a stick while eating".

This is even sadder when you realise that Sabito and Rengoku have similar haircuts/hairstyles, just different hair colour. And despite their different demeanors, they both have indomitable spirits and don't despair easily in the face of hardships and encourage their friends to live on.
The second episode be REALLY hitting us hard with all the parallels and dynamics (Giyuu & Tanjiro, Giyuu & Sabito, Tanjiro & Rengoku, Sabito & Rengoku, Giyuu & Shinobu, Tanjiro & Kanao).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m still not over this conversation from the most recent episode. Yes, we knew that Tanjirou would be able to get through to Giyuu, due to their shared loss of family and loved ones at the hands of demons. And yes, we knew that Tanjirou still carried immense amounts of grief and sorrow when it came to these (still fairly recent) deaths.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But this is the first and only time Tanjirou has ever admitted to wishing that he had died instead of someone else. This is a huge and devastating thing for him to acknowledge about himself.
With his family, his survivor’s guilt was about not being there when Muzan attacked. Even though, realistically, he wouldn’t have stood a chance against Kibutsuji at the time, it doesn’t matter to him. This fact still constantly haunts him.
Rengoku’s death, though—this is the only time Tanjirou’s survivor’s guilt takes this shape, that his confusion and grief is so severe that he wishes that he had died instead.
Tanjirou tells himself that it’s because he believed Rengoku was capable of defeating Muzan someday. And there is some truth to this rationalization, but deep down, it’s an excuse. Rengoku didn’t survive against Akaza, a demon who—though incredibly formidable—was ultimately bound to have only a fraction of Muzan’s full strength.
Once the viewer understands this excuse for what it is, it hurts even more to understand why Rengoku’s death impacted him so heavily.
Tanjirou only knew Rengoku for a short period of time. And in that brief window, Rengoku managed to leave one of the greatest, deepest impressions on that him that few other characters were able to match.
There are many reasons why, but I think a huge part of it is because Rengoku was everything Tanjirou wanted and needed in his life at the time. He had other mentors up to this point, yes. But Rengoku was so similar to him, and his communication style was easy for Tanjirou to follow. He was affectionate, kind, morally sound, and near incontestable in a fight. Due to this, I think Tanjirou inadvertently saw Kyoujurou as the ideal demon slayer. The ideal fighter. The ideal person.
It doesn’t diminish his love for anyone else, not by a longshot. But Rengoku was, in ways Tanjirou may or may not have understood at the time, the perfect mentor for him. And that perfect person—someone he was desperate to learn from, someone he came to love so quickly and so fiercely—was snatched away from him before he could fully understand what he’d lost.
That’s why Tanjirou cried when Giyuu told him about Sabito. That’s why Tanjirou understood, without being told, that Giyuu was suffering from survival’s guilt. He heard and witnessed Giyuu’s despair firsthand, saw his loss and his struggle to live on and immediately empathized because it reminded him of how it felt to lose Rengoku.

Idk I feel like making Maddie Nolen a traitor loyal to Ambessa does an extreme disservice not just to Maddie's character but also to the potential political message of Arcane. Had Maddie really, truly been earnest and kind and compassionate the whole time, and had she died in the battle, it would have done so much more for her, for Caitlyn, for the show. Here is a gentle character whose life and innocence would've been stripped from her because of war, because of imperialism. Here is a ray of sunshine who followed Caitlyn loyally through thick and thin, who shows Cait price of working with other oppressors.
But also: here is the bubbly character with a smile, the first to eagerly join in to a descent to fascism and martial law. Here is the "good cop", the gentle enforcer, who faithfully joins in a quest that involves gassing innocents of a city. Here is a kind soul, but also a soul who after expressing some doubts about the methods used, continues to work directly with and as the oppressors of innocents. Even the best of the enforcers is a part of the unjust oppression of Zaun.
Instead, she's written off as a spy, a mole, bad all along. Any nuance that her character could have brought is stripped away and she's killed and discarded without a second glance. The enforcers as a whole I feel could've been approached with more nuance, and she would've been a part of it. Instead, she's one-dimensional, a complete turncoat.
