Oda Nobunaga
Oda Nobunaga was the foremost military leader of Japan from 1568 to 1582. Nobunaga, along with his two immediate successors, Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1537-1598) and Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616), is credited with unifying medieval Japan in the second half of the 16th century. An innovative general who also used diplomacy as well as superior military tactics and weapons to see off his rivals, the warlord was infamous for his ruthless drive to conquer all before him.
Rise to Power
Born into a family of local administrators in 1534, Nobunaga's father, Oda Nobuhide (1510-1551) was a minor feudal lord or daimyo in Owari Province, central Japan. Nobunaga would first come to prominence when, on his father's death, he became the lord of Nagoya castle. Using the castle as his base, Nobunaga extended his domination over rival daimyo with notable successes coming in 1555 when he razed the town of Kiyosu and in 1559 when he captured and obliterated the fortress of Iwakura. The warlord's reputation for ruthlessness was firmly established in 1557 when he ordered the murder of his own brother. In 1560 at the Battle of Okehazama, the warlord of Mikawa, Imagawa Yoshimoto (1519-1560), was defeated and killed when Nobunaga's outnumbered army sprang a surprise encirclement of the enemy. Nobunaga was well on his way to becoming Japan's most-feared military leader.
Nobunaga is the subject of two biographies in Japanese history, the first was Shincho koki by Ota Gyuichi, which was published in 1598, while the second, Shincho Ki, was published in 1622 and was compiled by Oze Hoan as an extension of the earlier work. Both works glorify their subject and, as with similar posthumous biographies of the medieval period, exaggerate the deeds of the famous daimyo and insert episodes of legend which likely never happened at all. The Jesuit missionary and historian Luis Frois (1532-1597), however, gave a much more revealing description of Nobunaga in the following extract from a letter written in 1569:
A tall man, thin, scantily bearded, with a very clear voice, much given to the practice of arms, hardy, fond of the exercise of justice, and of mercy, proud, a lover of honour to the uttermost, very secretive in what he determines, extremely shrewd in the stratagems of war, little if at all subject to the reproof, and counsel of his subordinates, feared, and revered by all to an extreme degree. Does not drink wine. He is a severe master: treats all the Kings and Princes of Japan with scorn, and speaks to them over his shoulder as though to inferiors, and is completely obeyed by all as their absolute lord.
(Keen, 1159)

. I went to the ruins of Azuchi Castle in Shiga. Azuchi Castle was built by “Nobunaga Oda” in 1576. However, it’s a phantom castle that burned down within the next few years... and is a historic place that fans of “Nobunaga Od” will love. The photo shows the Niohmon Gate of Soukenji Temple in the Azuchi Castle, The main road of Azuchi Castle. . . #AzuchiCastle #NobunagaOda #安土城 #安土城跡 #織田信長 #歴史 (安土城跡) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBIphnhFJAG/?igshid=kz8rw2frv0v7

Ikemen Sengoku: Romances Across Time
If you’re a huge fan of Otome games, as well as hot and handsome samurai guys who are ready to conquer your heart, or maybe it’s the other way around, then this game, ‘Ikemen Sengoku: Romances Across Time’, is definitely for you! Well, I’m an avid fan so I suggest for you guys to check it out since it’s available for both iOS and Android.
It’s the latest English translated game that was published by CYBIRD since all the games they’re producing was originally in Japanese. I think the first one they released in English was, correct me if I’m wrong, the ‘Midnight Cinderella: Ikemen Royal Romances’, followed by ‘Destined to Love: Ikemen Samurai Romances.’
And this was the first ever Otomo game in the English version that has CV’s! How sweet is that! And oh my gosh, I know some of the Seiyuu’s and their voices suit the characters really well. My ears bleed in happiness every single time they speak. I’m not kidding…or maybe I am, who knows? Kudos to you guys!
So anyway, the story of the game revolves around the female protagonist, which is you, an aspiring fashion designer in your current time but suddenly got transported in the Sengoku Era. What adds more to your ‘problem’ was you earned the favor of Nobunaga Oda, the famous warlord in that period, after saving him from the fire. And you need to stay there for whole three months while waiting for the chance to make it back to the present.
Staying with those handsome warlords is like a dream come true. Please excuse my inner thoughts.
After the prologue, you will be given a chance to choose your desired route. There’s only three at first, Nobunaga Oda, Masamune Date and Yukimura Sanada. But now, a new route was opened and it’s our very own, Ieyasu Tokugawa. And I’m patiently (not really) waiting for the other routes to be opened since it’s a first time for me to like ALL the leading men in a game.
Be aware that in the prologue, they will introduce themselves with voices~ I’m warning you for the sake of your ears guys, thank me later.
Since I played it on the same day it was released, I can only pick from those three. And my poor heart can’t decide between Yukimura and Nobunaga. Oh! Don’t get me wrong, I like Masamune too, he’s cool and all, but my love for him was not that strong enough. (I’m sorry to all Masamune’s fans out there.)
Then, I decided to go with Yukimura, but before I can start the chapter I switched to Nobunaga. Why? He’s calling for me and my heart ached if I didn’t go with him so without further ado, I run towards him. In slow motion, if I may add and a background music from the game.
Thank you Cybird, for giving us the options to change route whenever we please.
So in the game, you will have to use five tickets in every chapter and once you’ve finished it all, you’re going to wait for next day since the game will give you five for free daily. Although, if you want the story to progress, you can just purchase the tickets from the shop using a real money, like me. I’m a trash when it comes to this game that’s why. (But not always alright?) There’s also bonuses every time you log in, so make sure to play the game every day to get those presents.
As you advance to the story, there are three choices in every two episodes of a whole chapter. You need to choose one answer for you to see whether the flow of your romance will be in the Dramatic Route, or on the Romantic Route.
What’s the difference? Both have a happy ending, but if you choose the dramatic route, it will give you more pain, oh the angst and more feels as you go on with the stories. And as an experience, getting dramatic before the romantic was definitely worth it.
But it’s still your choice though, I’m just going to support you on the sidelines. Fighting!
Of course, there’s more to the game, sometimes after you finished the five whole tickets at the end of it, there’s what they called the ‘Love Challenge.’ Whether it’s for grace or for a bonus story.
To raise your grace, you need to take ‘Princess Lesson’ where you’ll challenge another player. And if you pass, your chosen suitor will give you a gift (sometimes with a letter) after.
As for the bonus story, you need to choose from two attires that were required for you to advance in the story. There’s a premium attire and a normal attire. If you choose premium, the bonus scene will be saved in the ‘Memories’ of the game and you can watch it time and time again. It also has longer and more passionate scenes. Unlike in normal, that’s a little shorter and that you can only see it once. So sad.
If you’re curious about what’s your man’s thinking, pay no worry since, in the Castle Gacha, you can win a ‘premium bonus’ where you can read your darling’s point of view from a certain chapter.
Aside from that, Cybird graced us with certain story events where you can choose a route different from the main one. Don’t worry, it will not affect the real story and here, you won’t use chapter tickets. And what makes it more exciting was you can romance a guy that doesn’t have any route in the main campaign yet. How lovely is that huh?! (Hideyoshi! Kenshin! Hurry up and opened your route already!)
It can also be like a dress up game. You can purchase clothes, design your castle or your room to raise your beauty since it’s necessary for the game. Or some items that you like tickets for the story or some gacha points, and of course you can buy coins too.
All in all this game is superb! And to be honest, I really can’t wait for the other Sengoku warlord’s routes to be announced. Currently, I’m in Ieyasu’s route since I already finished Nobunaga and Yukimura’s, but I’ll get back to them to finish the other endings.
So guys yep, this game was definitely worth playing. You won’t get bored and you can hear their voices in a replay. It’s so good and you won’t get tired of hearing it over and over again. You can also change the character on the home page, just click Menu > His Room then you can choose whoever guy you want.
What I also like in this game was the protagonist, since I can see myself in her. Her straightforwardness sometimes and her tough act. Her I-don’t-care-if-you’re-a-warlord attitude never failed to make me laugh. I mean, if I’m in her shoes, I think…no, I know that I will be the same as her.
And since I do creative writing as a hobby, I’m fascinated with how the story flows nicely and the feels, it can really rip your heart into two if you’re so into it.
I do hope they make an anime out of this game aside from that animated chibi one, it’s cute though, I love watching it.
So if there’s anyone playing ‘Ikemen Sengoku: Romances Across Time’, feel free to add me ‘P43KC3XN5’ that’s my friend code.
Have a nice day ahead!
- Umarumiko~
