The moment you start throwing around a slur as a genuine insult you are no longer reclaiming it. Reclaiming a word involves referring to yourself with it in a positive manner, using it to spread community and trying to remove the feelings of shame around it. If you are using it as an insult you are not fucking reclaiming it, you are just using a slur.

A while ago I read about autistic people and nesting somewhere & I think we don't talk about that enough. Apparently, a lot of autistic people like nesting. I love nesting. I carefully choose a space to build my nest and I bring all my little trinkets there. I surround myself with everything I love and everything I could possibly need in the next few hours- my water bottle, a snack, my weighted blanket, my soft blanket, hand creme, my headphones, my charger, my favorite stuffed animals- so I don't have to leave the nest to get anything. It makes me feel save and calm and like everything is gonna be ok. This is a nesting appreciation post. Any other autistics who love a good nest?

as a disabled person who thinks the vast majority of ai generated content is worthless slop it gives me such agony to see anti-ai arguments that boil down to "if you don't want to write emails and cover letters you're a lazy fuck who deserves nothing" like what are we doing here
#literally#like boo hoo. externalize your anger in a way that doesnt make you sound like a huge cunt.

#autism response team is just the cops that come over and shoot you for acting autistic#to be clear this happens disproportionately to black people and people of color. like any other form of police violence.

feel like many ignore the fact that allergies are a very real and serious disability. yes even if its "mainstream" or whatever. its a disability. people suffer. people are discriminated against. peoples lives are threatened. include them in your activism.
[if you are not physically disabled or have nothing to add on to the TOPIC of this post, don't say anything. i refuse to have this derailed. make your own post.]

as much as i understand being a hater you have to offset that shit with genuine, sincere enjoyment & wonder sometimes lest YOU become the one who is corny. and sad. imo.

The reality of it is that ik why people want to shame chatgpt users for, well, using it. It's easier to make people take action if you mock and embarrass them.
But oh my god that's just not going to work. That's not a good way to do things, imo. It feels too much like Cringe Culture 101 and you're more likely to make people double down and get defensive because you're being a dick to them.
Also not everyone knows AI is bad or why it's bad. Trying to educate someone on the topic by going 'youre a stupid bitch and should stop because it's embarrassing' is not very good believe it or not.
#babbles#im taking this a bit too seriously i think but whatever. you can hate me for my takes its alright

Hey, writing an email is still hard for some people. Esp if you don't know where to start. It's fine to struggle with these things, actually.
HOWEVER. Chatgpt should not be used for that or anything else, that much is true. Exercise your skills, practice. It takes time, but you really do get used to it the more you do it.
It's fine. You don't need a machine to do it for you, I promise.
we need to make using chatgpt embarrassing bc sorry it really is. what do you mean you can’t write an email
#//the beginning just feels a bit too antagonistic. yeah some people struggle with easy tasks.#idk i get a bit angry when social anxieties like that are mocked. yeah yeah u cant order from mcdonalds thats lame boo hoo ugh#im going to believe op didnt mean it like that but honestly like... sorry#wording it this way is only going to make people defensive
