This girl had a cruel prank played on her by her clanmates, but it went horribly wrong. Applepaw lost a good chunk of her tail and very badly sliced her leg from a fence post in a mad dash to escape the jaws of the dog that the other apprentices let loose.

Story: 

A kit born of a treacherous affiliation, he had been plagued with rumors all his life that his father was not Jaybeak, but Cinderfang. 

Taunted by his Clanmates, he was infuriated to find out the rumors were true after Jaybeak’s death. He cut off all ties with his mother and swore he would not make the same mistake. However, tragedy struck with his first litter, one, sickly kit who barely made it through the night before passing away shortly after.

Spottedstone was devastated, and frequently had nightmares of Jaybeak taunting him, suggesting his mate was also being untruthful. Later, his mate had another litter of kits, a litter of four, but at this point, with the stress of not being able to sleep comfortably and the death of Kestralkit, he wasn't thinking properly anymore. 

When he gazed upon his kits, all he saw was his mate's coat color and appearance. That night, he woke up from yet another nightmare, finally having snapped and proceeded to claw all of his kits to death, or so he thought. When he fled the camp that night, one of his kits still clung onto Life amidst the bodies of his siblings, Mothkit.

Many years later in life, after the death of Brindlepaw, Mireclan's leader, Briarstar, was plotting to raid Nobleclan's camp with the help of a rogue group, the Dogkillers, of whom their leader was secretly her former apprentice. Briarstar recruited any cat willing to join her cause, including Spottedstone, who had figured out his mate and son still lived, and wanted to finish the job. 

That fateful night of the raid, Spottedstone had found his mate hiding in the queen's den. Due to the fire caused by a lightning strike earlier, the den was unstable, and all it took was a shove to collapse it, suffocating Leafsprout inside.

Mothsneeze had finally located his father amidst all the chaos, bringing him down and taking him as prisoner after Briarstar was injured by her own rogue allies after accidentally admitting to killing their previous leader.

It was only a few moons later that Spottedstone's body was found in the medicine cat's den, with claw marks on the floor and bloody, coughed up deathberries around him.

--Leafsprout never cheated on Spottedstone, Spottedstone was driven to madness because of Jaybeak and a lack of sleep, and had assumed Leafsprout had cheated on him too.

Story:

Mireclan was starving.

They needed more territory.

Sleekfeather reported a bear roaming near the Clans.

Giantstar never thought much through.

He was the brains of the duo.

That was what he told himself.

‘We will threaten the clans with the bear, and we can take their territory!’

He told his best friend his plan.

He didn't mean for it to go that badly.

He didn't mean for Darkscar to die.

He missed Darkscar.

Did he blame him?

Cautionary Tale: while not a cautionary tale, a story was passed to explain what had occurred to cause Lightclan and Caveclan to flee from their territories, and why they had isolated themselves for so long

Story: 

Many cats have heard the story of the Dreaded Giantstar, who almost single handedly ran off both Lightclan and Caveclan. 

Giantstar had a lackey though, his best friend, Darkscar. Giantstar had been the brains of the duo since they were apprentices, so when he suggested to Darkscar a plan to increase Mireclan's territory and get rid of the other Clans, Darkscar was intrigued. 

At the next gathering, Giantstar gave the Clans an ultimatum: leave or die. Lightclan and Caveclan got the message, one leaving entirely while the other hid deep in the mountains of their territory. However, Nobleclan was not as willing to back down as the others. So Giantstar and Darkscar hatched a plan: lure a bear with honey towards Nobleclan's camp, and let nature take it's course. 

What they didn't account for, was the bear choosing to target Mireclan instead. The bear got to Giantstar and Darkscar first, then chased the rest of Mireclan across a log bridge, finally dying as the log bridge snapped under its weight, but not before taking out six more cats in the process.

--Darkscar arrived at the Dark Forest, he was upset. He had followed Giantstar all his life, only for it to have gotten them both killed. He doesn't go near Giantstar's side of the forest anymore, That's where the bear spirit's roam, forever taunting Giantstar.

--Not only cats roam the Dark Forest, it is also home to any creature who's committed atrocities in their lives. Most of the bear spirits enjoy taunting Giantstar, he really thought he could control one of them? A laughable mistake. (sunshade’s AU)

Story: 

Sparrowface had a good life, had a mate and she had a son of whom she adored, however she had heard whispers of her two brothers. 

Some of which rumoured that her elder brother, Cinderfang, was the object of Greyflower's affection, although the she-cat was already in a relationship. Sparrowface's other brother, of whom she was closest to, Larksnow, had joined Mireclan by request of Mireclan's leader, Briarstar, in order to prevent war. 

One day, a patrol was sent out to Mireclan's borders, and a fight broke out. When the patrol returned, Fennelpounce was not with them. Sparrowface had waited, and when her mate returned, she faintly scented blood on him. She questioned him on his whereabouts, but he tried to change the subject. 

That night, Sparrowface heard Fennelpounce leave their den once again, and she followed him. What she found was a shoddy grave with her brother, Larksnow, inside. 

She stalked Fennelpounce back to their den and attacked him from behind. Pinning him down, she had  demanded to know why he was burying her brother. Fennelpounce gave in and told her he had killed Larksnow at the skirmish, and to avoid banishment he had hidden Larksnow's body. Enraged, Sparrowface ripped his throat out, but unbeknownst to her, her kit was awake, and in a blind rage leaped onto his mother and ripped part of her face off.

Cedarkit was in shock and passed out shortly after. In the morning, his mother was above him, grooming him. When questioned what had happened the previous night, his mother said that a rogue had snuck into camp to kidnap him, and his father was slain and Sparrowface's eye ripped out. 

The lie continued for years until Sparrowface was old and frail, and on her deathbed, her son visited her, and she told him the truth, everything. She had passed shortly after, with her son left to pick up the pieces.

--Sparrowface's grandson also ends up in the Dark Forest, Brindlepaw was lured there as a young apprentice alongside his friend Sunpaw by Spottedstone, who was the illegitimate child of Cinderfang and Grey flower.

Cautionary Tale: never walk with the shadows, lest you be trapped to the dark forever

Story: 

Brindlepaw was raised solely by his father, Cedarstar, as his mother had passed away shortly after his birth. 

He was quite timid and followed his friend, Sunpaw, wherever-- often being dragged along into trouble because of her. One day, they snuck out of camp and wandered far away. They came across a scraggly grey spotted tom. The tom told them of a way to become stronger, so they listened, dreaming into the Dark Forest. 

The tom introduced himself as Spottedstone, and he was joined by an ancient Dark forest spirit, a tom by the name of Darkscar. Darkscar had been chosen to train them. However, when Darkscar chased the two apprentices up a tree, they had failed to notice a very weak branch, and Brindlepaw had jumped onto it. 

The branch collapsed under the apprentice's weight and he fell to the ground, snapping his neck and spine on impact. Sunpaw had woken up, praying it was a dream, only to be greeted with the mangled body of her friend next to her. She ran as fast as she could back to her Clan and broke down, the sight of her friend's body proved to be too much for her, so she imminently requested to be a medicine cat apprentice instead. 

Due to Brindlepaw dying in the Dark Forest, he was forced to roam there forever. At least he has his grandma there to comfort him.

--Darkscar was the deputy of the dreaded Giantstar, who had attempted to lure a bear to Nobleclans camp, only for it to backfire and kill him and his deputy instead.

--Brindlepaw is one of the youngest member of the Dark forest, barely even an apprentice at the time of his demise.
