“Sec. 4. Preserving Fairness and Safety in Women’s Sports. Many sport-specific governing bodies have no official position or requirements regarding trans-identifying athletes. Others allow men to compete in women’s categories if these men reduce the testosterone in their bodies below certain levels or provide documentation of “sincerely held” gender identity. These policies are unfair to female athletes and do not protect female safety. To address these concerns, it is hereby ordered.”

PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM CHEMICAL AND SURGICAL MUTILATION [No. 14187]

“[Sec 1] Accordingly, it is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called “transition” of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.”

“ [Sec.2] (c) The phrase “chemical and surgical mutilation” means the use of puberty blockers, including GnRH agonists and other interventions, to delay the onset or progression of normally timed puberty in an individual who does not identify as his or her sex; the use of sex hormones, such as androgen blockers, estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone, to align an individual’s physical appearance with an identity that differs from his or her sex; and surgical procedures that attempt to transform an individual’s physical appearance to align with an identity that differs from his or her sex or that attempt to alter or remove an individual’s sexual organs to minimize or destroy their natural biological functions. This phrase sometimes is referred to as “gender affirming care.”

The recent executive order banning trans women from women’s sports up to the Olympic level is the latest in Trump’s string of anti-trans mandates, which also seek to abolish legal gender recognition in favor of outdated definitions of sex and roll back Title IX protections established under Bostock v. Clayton County. Other orders declare transgender people unfit for military service and initiate restrictions on gender-affirming care for trans people under 19 years old. All of these policies were laid out in Project 2025, the “conservative promise” spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation and detailed in the initiative's policy book, Mandate for Leadership. In some cases, the language in the executive orders closely mirrors the language from Mandate on the topic. During his campaign, both Donald Trump and Fox News tirelessly worked to distance the candidate from Project 2025. But in the days after the election, right-wing media figures were quick to confirm what was already apparent to many observers: “Project 2025 is the agenda.” Just weeks into Trump’s second term, it appears they were right. 

Donald Trump’s anti-trans executive orders, such as those aimed at gender-affirming care, trans troops in the military, and trans women in women’s sports, echo Project 2025’s language (despite purporting to “disavow” Project 2025 during the campaign).

Maine Gov. Janet Mills, a Democrat, made it clear Friday that she isn’t backing down from one of President Donald Trump’s latest attacks on transgender people. During a heated exchange at the National Governors Association meeting at the White House on Friday, Trump singled out Mills during a press event. With cameras rolling, he threatened to cut off federal funding to Maine unless the state complied with his sweeping executive order banning transgender athletes from girls’ and women’s sports. “Is Maine here, the governor of Maine here,” Trump asked the assembled room of governors from both parties. “Are you not going to comply with it? She responded, “I’m complying with state and federal laws.” To which Trump quipped, “Well—I’m— we are the federal law. You better do it. You better do it because you’re not going to get any federal funding at all if you don’t. And by the way, your population, even though it’s somewhat liberal—although I did very well there—your population doesn’t want men playing in women’s sports. So you better comply because otherwise, you’re not getting any federal funding.” Mills, serving her second and final term as governor, responded with a defiant challenge: “We’ll see you in court.” Trump, never one to let a confrontation pass, shot back: “Good. I’ll see you in court. That should be a real easy one. And enjoy your life after governor, because I don’t think you’ll be in elected politics.”

Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D) is right to tell anti-trans bully Donald Trump to his face “we’ll see you in court” in response to 47’s threat to withhold federal funding for the state of Maine for permitting trans women to play in women’s sports.

Withholding federal funding to blue states that stand up to the Bully-in-Chief is valid grounds for blue-state secession.

Wilbur "Runner" Conley Research Part 3:

alright so here's some more info on Conley. This is the wounded list for New York in what I believe was fall 1944- not sure why, but if you look through it, ALL of these guys are either Navy or Marines (and one coast guard guy for some reason). Thought that was interesting.

Here's Conley- this is probably when he got wounded at Pelelui

Additionally, sometime between when the 1940 census was taken and this wounded list, his parents have moved. This is where they're living now (in 1944). I think it's some sort of special neighborhood cause this is about as far as you can get in street view. However, we do have a recent zillow listing- and goddamn, I wouldn't mind living there myself; it's a beautiful house. And it is not cheap. I don't know if they owned the house, or they're renting it.

Now, Conley comes back and pretty soon (Dec 2nd, 1944) gets married! (month/date with double line)- keep in mind, Pelelui begins in September and he got wounded pretty early on so this isn't too wild. Now either, he's been writing to some girl (likely) considering the short time frame he's been back, or he met someone and got hitched on the fly (less likely but possible). Wish we had letters alas, but NY marriage registrars will do.

Here's his draft card from 1946- we have a name for the Mrs. Conley.

I unfortunately couldn't find his card before the war, but look at that man's beautiful handwriting- we love to see it. We also now have another address- he's not with his parents anymore, but he's unemployed which is interesting. I don't know why- perhaps he's in college??? Is his wife employed? who's making the money here. anyway- here's where they're living. It's some sort of duplex- and now an apartment? the streetview is there too, but the trees are completely blocking this place. a duplex/apartment would make sense for a couple that are only married for about a year, plus one isn't working.

Also the back of the card- now you can know what he looked more- beyond the black and white, plus, still identification of the injury he got- must've been noticeable. Wonder if he had a big scar.

I'll probably have a third post here with his muster rolls. There are also hits on newspapers (obituary) but my library subscription doesn't include the ancestry newspapers one- so if anyone has it and wants to check out the buffalo news feel free to lol.

Castle style home built in 1880 w/the charm of a 17th century castle amidst the bustling city w/ views of an olde English village, but it’s in Buffalo, New York. This cool castle has 5bd, 3full baths, and 2 half baths. Priced at $1.5M. 

Check out the spiked “gate” and the cannons. Apparently, it’s a window, now, b/c it has a planter in the floor, but the cannons are pointed and poised to blast any unwanted intruders. 

Isn’t this magnificent? I mean, really. The details. Actually, $1.5M isn’t bad for this. I wouldn’t even mind the Buffalo winters if I lived here. I’d be happy to be holed up in my castle. 

This is cool, you get up closed to admire your beautiful ceiling and stand over your great hall. 

This blue room is nice. I wouldn’t mind spending time in here.

Apparently, the current owners really like blue. I expected the dining room to be a little grander.

A short hall leads to the kitchen.

Where we find blue cabinets. Hmmmm. Not sure I like the style for a castle and the kitchen’s kind of small. 

But, speaking of Buffalo winters, check out the size of the fridge and freezer. You could store a lot of food in there.

I thought this was wallpaper, but it’s actually printed tile. Like the little cupboard in the wall.

A proper castle has to have hallways. Did you notice the bumpety walls, even in the great hall?

I didn’t expect a pool. Very nice.

The Department of Education is urging the NCAA to strip awards and records from transgender athletes. The NCAA last month banned transgender student-athletes from participating in sports aligned with their gender identity. “Because of President Trump’s bold leadership, men will no longer be allowed to compete in women’s sports regardless of how they identify, and the NCAA has correctly changed its tune on its discriminatory practices against female athletes,” Candice Jackson, deputy general counsel for the DOE, said in a statement. “The next necessary step is to restore athletic records to women who have for years been devalued, ignored, and forced to watch men steal their accolades.” President Donald Trump has targeted transgender rights in a series of executive orders in the first days of his second administration. One of the orders signed on January 20, his first day in office, entitled “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” defined sex as male or female based on the “immutable biological reality of sex.” On January 29, he signed an order entitled “Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling” which barred schools that receive federal funding allowing trans students from participating in sports, using bathrooms and changing facilities, and choosing pronouns that align with their gender identity. [...] The new request would affect the awards and records of University of Pennsylvania trans woman swimmer Lia Thomas, who made history in 2022 as the first transgender NCAA Division I champion when she won the 500-yard freestyle event. The NCAA did not indicate whether it will honor the new request. Meanwhile, Jackson made clear her department will continue to target the transgender community. “The Trump Education Department will do everything in our power to right this wrong and champion the hard-earned accomplishments of past, current, and future female collegiate athletes,” Jackson said.

This is an egregious act of anti-trans history revisionism, all done to appease anti-trans extremists such as Riley Gaines.
