(for ask game) "Chouki and Iyozane hadn't expected to get along at all or have anything in common for that matter, but sometimes you just got to expect the unexpected."

Iyozane picked up their order of a salted caramel mocha inside a new cafe that opened up on the border of the unlost woods. It wasn't the best coffee Iyozane ever had: the coffee at home was made with only the finest beans, grinded with the sharpest of blades, and brewed with the purest of water. But to Iyozane, chasing perfection like that was far from what they wanted, as they just wanted a warm drink on this unusually cold day.

While Iyozane was sipping on their coffee, reading a tabloid the shop had on one of their tables, another customer floated into the store. It was Taira no Chouki, Fumikado's abandoned sibling. Iyozane tried their best to conceal their own presence, and for a bit, it worked- enough for Chouki to get their own order of a salted caramel mocha. But Iyozane's little facade was broken when Chouki sat at the same bench as them.

"You look FAMILIAR... aren't you a lackey of FUMIKADO???" Chouki let out.

Why yes I am Fujiwara no Iyozane, Fumikado's chief advisor." Iyozane said, "and they need a lot of advising.

"Let me tell you SOMETHING... Fumikado is UNADVISABLE! The moment that Fumikado disagrees with you... you get ABANDONED!"

"Really? There's been plenty of time that we disagreed and I've been able to advise them to a better solution."

"That's because they agreed from the START... but their inflated ego prevents them from going down without a FIGHT!!!"

"I see," Iyozane responded after sipping their drink.

"In my time as their CLOSEST COMPANION... the only person that they listened to blindly was LORD IWAKADO."

"That Iwakado guy; you two seem to have a lot of respect for him."

"He took me in when I was a CHILD... after my parents were MURDERED... at least as I was told. By the time I became CONSCIOUS the only parent I remember is IWAKADO."

"Ya know, I also didn't 'know' my parents. They were alive, of course, but I was locked in a room where my only escape was death at the start of my life."

Chouki was taken aback by the account. "Did you ALSO make a deal with the UNDERWORLD MASTER?"

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. But I still died before, with a whole tale to tell."

"ReaLLY?" Chouki asked. "I have my own TAIL... AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF FUMIKADO!!!!!!"

Iyozane sipped their coffee waiting for Chouki to calm down. Looking to turn this rage into conversation, Iyozane asked "How long ago did you die?"

"It was just over a YEAR AGO... Fumikado trained their body to be STRONG and their mind to be EMPTY... All in preparation to revive LORD MASAKADO... All that was left was a SAEDA PLAYER... and I, the FAITHFUL SUBORDINATE, sacrificed myself for the CAUSE... and when THINGS WENT WRONG I WAS TOSSED AWAY!!!!!"

"My sibling was also somewhat the cause of my death too. It was how long ago again? Five Maybe? Anyways, I was locked in my room my entire childhood, following the rigorous education that was expected for me as crown prince. The education was easy enough, but I couldn't take being locked in my room for over a decade of my life. The stories that my sibling that give me lunch, and the ones that I read during it, made me yearn to live the world outside the 4 walls. But with how deep it was in the palace, and how much security was around, my only way out was with death. When I brought it up with my sibling during lunch one day, they proposed that I poisoned myself. The very next day I drank it and that was that."

"Wow... We both lived lifes filled with such GRIEF."

They sat in silence, sipping their coffee for a bit. Once Iyozane finished the cup of coffee, they said "Welp, I think I need to go back home now."

Chouki responded with "You know, your NOT BAD... for someone who works for FUMIKADO. Once you get HURT... we will welcome you with OPEN ARMS."

Iyozane laughed and said "I'll consider it," then waved goodbye as they walked out the door.

I think August absolutely has the gall to turn on the puppy eyes and the "I'm ur best friend" act the second Mage passes and becomes a ghost. Not ten minutes ago, he was all "Umbra, Slice!" (A bit like a Pokémon trainer tbh). But then he gets salty about being the only one eternally bound to Honeywood on account of dying within its borders. Like I can imagine he and Mage both on either side of the Honeywood borders and August being like "I know I caused ur death but we're still friends right? Will u accept an apology hug?
