Credits to @/_momorxn on twitter for the translation! I just wanted to have it in the comic because this literally destroyed me this morning. I ranted to my partner abt this for like a good 30 minutes.

The bully calls them losers, and ivan didnt know what it meant. So, he asks till, and he explains that it basically means "friendless idiot" after calling ivan an idiot, which then prompted ivan to say that the bully was right and they were both friendless idiots. This clearly made till upset and since he only knows how to defend himself with violence he punches ivan and runs away in frustration because in his eyes, ivan, the only friend he had and probably the only person that didnt make him feel like a "friendless idiot", was insulting him of being just that. However, ivan clearly didnt mean it as an offense, he was simply stating what was obvious to him.... that till and him only had each other, and so that made them both "friendless idiots".

Ivan learnt two things that day : first, when something is hurt, you gently touch them and tell them to stay strong. second, he was a loser. So now that hes hurt both physically from till's punch and emotionally for offending his one and only, he gently pats his own injury and tells himself to stay strong, despite the lingering pain that was tormenting him and making it hard for him to confidently believe in what he was saying. am i being dramatic? probably. But this is worth being dramatic for

David and Angel end up having a kid who's just as smart and blunt as David, but just as wacky and silly as angel. You'd catch Asher beefin' with a 5-year-old over who gets the aquamarine crayon to color the Disney princess coloring book.

Bonus points if they have ADHD, like how I HC Angel to have AuDHD. David had ADHD as a young child but was able to grow out of it, too, so he understands why they cry when they can't find that Lego piece. David would spend all day helping them look for it. This sets Angel's heart on fire, they realize why they fell in love with him all over again.

Red Bouquet ep. 2 = Your Melody???

I THINK I GOT IT RIGHT.

So.. if you recall from my theory about Your Melody, me and my friend theorized how this song was about Merold wanting to reconcile with Hallritt after.. let's say.. a big fight..?

Quite from my post: "Take it this way, we got into a big fight, I got amnesia, I no longer recognize you and best friend J, but as I got reintroduced to more memories (Hallritt telling Merold), I start to remember more. And because I start to remember more, it makes me cherish the memories we once had, so it pushes me to want to reconcile. Simply because I want to experience more of those memories." — @c h a m a l a m.

Other than that.. have you noticed the similarities between some of the lyrics in Your Melody and Merold's line in ep. 2?

Your Melody: "The fairytale of the day you told me about... The pleasantly soft and sweet whispers. Just listen to them carefully, don't get flustered now."

Merold, ep.2: "This Red Bouquet... Sounds like a fairytale for kids."

To be fair, back then I've theorized how this was about Hallritt telling Merold about the day when everything went wrong, but the connection between these lines are still there.

Your Melody: "It's okay to deceive with an outright lie... Because within it lingers a quiet love."

Merold, ep. 2: Well, of course I'd love to but... That whole "greatest knight" thing is a lie." — "But spreading rumours like that makes people think twice about crossing My Melody's kingdom or making an enemy of me, right?"

Back then, I wrote how this was Merold talking about this seemingly peaceful life and how it's probably better to stay within this illusion, for the sake of everyone's safety, which, until now, still stands firm because that is, indeed, his intentions.

Your Melody: "If I were to stain your smile, then I would do away with this heart of mine." or "The MELODY of your voice that I want to remain beside, what if... If you want to cloud over the future, if it is sadness that you want to echo... then please let me play it from here."

Romarriche, ep. 2: "A "lie"... You knew phrasing it like that would invite disdain, and yet you said it anyway."

This part right here is a bit of a stretch, back then I had just compile the entire chorus and theorized how it was Merold finally remembering and opening up to Hallritt and reconcile. Because truth be told, I don't think Merold's doing all of this to purposefully hurt Hallritt or the people around him, I think the opposite, in fact. Because...

Your Melody: "Even with this fragile heart, above all else, you are my dearest, (Tell me, tell me why.) These overflowing feelings are a MELODY for you (Tell me, tell me why.)."

This is him wanting to protect the people he cares, going each and every lengths just to ensure their safety. It might not be the kindest, nor is it the best in the long run, as far as this story's concerned. But it is the most tangible way as of now given the circumstances he's faced with.

To wrap it all up, I'd say 1.) Me and my best friend's theory did indeed end up being correct, and 2.) Better prepare for more Merold and Hallritt angst.

No More Angst

Okay actually we haven’t actually escaped the vortex of “webcomics that are a direct or indirect response to the themes and things that happened in the Epilogues.” NO MORE ANGST is one of those, as indicated by the fact that Dirk Strider is apparently narrating and controlling everything that happens in this…Homestuck Kidswap AU. Huh.

This is…kind of a strange kidswap AU? Okay so the concept is that we’ve not even TOUCHED the Egberts and the Harleys and that side of the family tree. Instead, this fanadventure has just changed where Dave and Rose ended up, and that’s it. So not even taking advantage of half of the characters. But wait! Instead of waiting around to introduce what Dirk and Roxy are like beyond the scratch, we just have them here. For some reason. I don’t know why. Well, I *do* know why—it’s because Dirk Strider is a Villain now, and it’s in the zeitgeist to go “just who IS this cool dude?” now.

Uh…I’m not feeling interested in this one. Like, it’s not bad, and I’m not disliking it as much as like, the other Fankid AUs I have seen on here, but…like…there’s not really a lot here? There’s something there, like the idea of Homestuck as a rigidly plotted thing and the meta commentary of like, moving around characters to make them “happy” might not actually be in the best interest of the story, but…it’s not really executing on that premise as well as I would’ve hoped. So I’m moving on.
