The way people demonize seagulls is actually unreal. They're literally just trying to survive. You're in their home. Since I have people in my inbox calling me outside my name again let me say it again: I respect and appreciate that women of all sexualities are and have been a part of slash fandom from its inception. However I don’t think that means that it’s above criticism that fandoms surrounding the potential, percieved, hypothetical, or even canon romantic relationships between men tend to treat gay and bi men as irrelevant nuisances at best.

This becomes especially egregious when there are canon gay characters and relationships to celebrate that get entirely pushed to the side in favor of whatever the Most Popular Ship is. There should be no reason why gay and bi men enjoying actual representation of themselves and their relationships should be being called “fetishizers” by people who are neither gay men nor bi men.
