A NiGHTS au idea

So I got this idea. It's been 16 years since Journey of Dreams came out. In my story I wrote it's been the same amount of time since a visitor came to the Nights Dimension. Pov your NiGHTS waiting for Sega to make another game.

I also wrote a story:

Something was following me. I don't know what, but I knew I shouldn't have watched that YouTube video before going to bed.

The sound of groaning my name from the other room had started out as background noise, and after a while, it seemed more like the sound of the sea coming in through the open windows. It was getting louder now, and my eyes opened wide at the sudden intrusion of another person into my bedroom, something that I would normally never permit. I sat up immediately and glared down at the intruder.

A shadowy entity that was not entirely humanoid stood there, with its hand outstretched towards me. As I looked on, the figure turned out to be a woman who appeared to be dressed entirely in black. Her skin was so dark it was almost purple, her hair hung loosely around her shoulders, and she bore a look of utter horror upon her face.

I scrambled away as fast as possible from the person standing in front of my bed, and she quickly grabbed my wrist. My heart pounded as she pulled me towards herself and began to murmur in an unknown language.

She kept trying to speak the same foreign syllables over and over again, as though they were being forced to escape from the depths of her throat.

I struggled to break free from her grasp as she began to drag me across the floor, pulling me by my wrist and causing my bare feet to scrape against the stone floors. Her grip became more desperate as she pulled harder and harder until I finally managed to wrench myself away.

As I ran, a bright light flashed in my face. A loud buzzing noise sounded throughout the small room, and I felt a strange force pull me forward until suddenly my feet hit stone bricks. In front of me was a large gate, and I stumbled forward as the door slammed shut behind me.

"Took long enough for a visitor to show up."

The voice echoed from in front of me, sounding slightly familiar. When I looked around, I saw someone sitting on broken fountain stones on top of a ruined statue of head resting in their hands. I walked forward, but as I got closer, I realized how tall this person was and how beautiful it was. My breath caught in my throat as their blue eyes so captivating ly met mine and held them. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't move. They were too much. It's too perfect. They were...

"Hey, you starstruck little thing, are you gonna talk? Are you even listening?"

My mind snapped out of whatever daze I'd been in. I shook my head slightly and blinked rapidly.

"Sorry I was just....where am I?" I asked. "Why am I here?"

The stranger raised their eyebrows at me and spoke in a mocking tone. "You're at the Dream Gate, kid," they said. "You can thank me later when we take care of these pesky things.”

With that, they gestured towards the door next to me, and it began to glow a deep, unnatural red color. A series of images came flooding from inside, and I tried desperately to shield my eyes from the sudden onslaught.

"I can't see!" I shouted frantically. “What do I do?”

“You're doing fine,” the stranger replied. They leaned over me and pressed their thumb firmly onto my forehead, as if they intended to physically remove my headache.

“Just relax. You'll be safe."

When the images stopped, I took a step back away from them and sighed, massaging my head.

“That's much better,” the stranger said, as they floated around me around me like some sort of demented cloud. “Hey have you ever wanted to fly?"

I stared at the stranger for a moment and then slowly began to nod my head.

“No,” I said quietly.

“Never.”I shuddered as they placed one hand lightly on my shoulder.

“What!?!??" The stranger exclaimed, clearly shocked by my reaction. “Don't tell me, you've never thought about it?”

I hesitated before nodding again. I wasn't sure I wanted to say the words aloud, but I decided there was no harm in telling them since they already thought I was crazy anyway.

“Yes. I’ve been thinking about it.”

“Of course you have!” the stranger said excitedly as though they hadn't known that all along. "Do you wanna fly right now?" They said, sounding way too excited.

I stared back at them with my mouth open. “How..”

"We'll dualizing of course."

“Dualizing?” I whispered, feeling confused. "What is that?"

"Dualizing" allows our bodies to assimilate with one another. It's better if I just show you." The stranger held out their palm towards me, and when I didn't move, they frowned at me.

“Hey,” they said, looking annoyed. “Are you just gonna stand there, or do you want to learn how to fly?”

"We'll you haven't introduced yourself yet!" I blurted out. I didn't really expect an answer, given my behavior earlier.

Instead, however, the stranger's lips curled into a soft smile, and they gave me a wink.

"You're quite rude, aren't you?" they said with a laugh as they reached out and gently touched my arm.

"My name is NiGHTS ."

"It's nice to meet you, NiGHTS," I said, placing my hand tentatively on theirs.
