I'm sorry that this isn't Dreamling. I still haven't written the next part in my Dreamling series.

This is from the next chapter of Forgotten and Discarded.

“My sweet, precious Nightmare. Tell me what you need.”

Nightmare takes in a ragged breath, though it sounds more like another whine. “Please, my King. Please, fuck me. Harder, faster, let me feel you.”

Morpheus growls and uses his grip on Nightmare’s wrists as leverage, fucking hard into Nightmare and delighting in the warbling, encouraging cry he lets out. Morpheus tries to keep a grip on his control but it’s rapidly slipping through his fingers like sand. Soon, he’s using quick thrusts to fuck deep and hard into Nightmare; he adjusts his angle just enough that on the next thrust, Nightmare practically screams.

“There! Please, my King!”

Morpheus purrs and fucks into Nightmare’s prostate with perfect accuracy on every thrust even as tears begin cascading down his beautiful face. Morpheus presses a soft kiss to Nightmare’s shoulder, whispering filthy praise against his skin that has Nightmare shaking, hole tightening around Morpheus’ cock.

“Are you close?”

Nightmare’s answering whine is high, thready.

Nightmare!Dream of the Endless doesn’t have claws, fangs, he doesn’t drip acid. He is not a monster from a horror movie, nor is he an amalgamation of such monsters.

Nightmare!Dream’s physical manifestation may look like a being from the Uncanny Valley. Skin too pale and smooth, texture a bit off, movements and expressions not quite right. Almost human, but wrong.

Physical manifestation aside, Nightmare!Dream of the Endless is more like the horror of noon.

Monsters with sharp claws and deadly fangs are monsters you could fight off.

But Nightmare!Dream is not fightable. Nor he is a creature you could run from.

He is state of the world around you.

And the only reprieve you could get from him is in the embrace of one of his siblings.

I generally try to make a habit of only posting completed works because it saves me the hassle of having to go in and update as the fic updates, but By God Do I Love This Fic.

It’s just very silly and charming and a good dose of just the right amount of crack-y that it’s EXCELLENT. The way that Ibrithir categorizes both Daydream and Nightmare actually aligns very well with Dream in canon, imho. Both are equally balanced out by fear and hope and aren’t just completely going off the rails. Because of that, they both still read like Dream the character, if only an ooc Dream (which is the entire point), and not like someone’s original character that they just slapped the Dream of the Endless label on.

Basically I’m saying that they pulled off the near-impossible of making this believable lol

Aside from all of that: it’s a very fun fic! The stakes still remain high despite its lighthearted tone, but it doesn’t bog you down with any sort of grim dark/split personality tropes, which again I think is helped by the fact that both Daydream and Nightmare are two separate bodies. Ibrithir also does a great job of setting things up and foreshadowing, and I’ve got several theories about what’s about to happen lol (I feel like Daydream is going to [REDACTED] because of [REDACTED]’s comment about [REDACTED] and Hob’s going to have to [REDACTED].)
