... that is SO EASILY ABUSABLE its not even funny. Right off the cuff I can picture people used as spies and assassins, people hurt on the job with no idea what (or if) they're being compensated for something (and unknowingly taking the blame for whatever happened), the nightmare of the split backfiring in a bad way (like people forgetting the WRONG side of things during off-clock time), and of course the fact that the non-work self has no freaking idea what to put on resumes if they get fired which means they might either not get any work outside of that company or straight up be TRAPPED in that company.

JESUS.

Please tell me its just one singular nightmare of a company town and not like the whole planet.

Okay so like. What is severance even about?? Cos i had originally thought it was some kind of lawyer/business/wealthy family drama but recently i saw a gif set or something that made me think maybe theres some kind of magical/supernatural nonsense also happening somehow?? Anyway id rather hear about what goes on from somebody who actually likes the show if thats okay please

Yeah! So it's like a sort of drama/thriller with a litttllee bit of sci-fi and the basic premise-no spoilers this all happens in the pilot episode is this:

Theres a medical procedure called severance where you get a little chip implanted in your brain that separates your consciousness in two. There is your outside self and work self, and when You're at work you have no memories of your outside life, and when you're outside you have no memories of work.

So imagine you clock in at 9 AM blink and it's 5PM and you go home

And then the moral and ethical implications of essentially subjugating your work self to be stuck at work forever their entire lives
