Ok so hear me out…I have this thought that I feel like in thea stilton I feel like Nicky and Pam would be the most chaotic duo

And you are absolutely correct.

They've pulled a lot of crazy stunts together, like... gee, lemme check my notes- scaling a stone wall that's at least 10 ft tall in less than a minute, climbing across the roof of a moving train, breaking into the Bad Guy of the Week's hideout and drawing them away (by stealing a fucking sandwich) and engaging in a reckless car chase- you get the idea.

I wholeheartedly believe that the other Thea Sisters have put a system in place to prevent them from being unsupervised together during any of their adventures because they are just. that chaotic.

you and nick had been seeing eachother for a few months now. you had meet through mutual friends and you instantly clicked. once the NFL season started he had you in a suite at every single game. you absolutely loved making friends with all of the players partners and watching nick play every sunday.

it was the last game before the super bowl that would determine if the 49ers made it or not. you and all of the girls had been on the edge of your seats the whole game. the 49ers were currently 17-24 against the detroit lions.

the lions had fumbled the ball and the 49ers got it back. purdy threw to kittle and got a touchdown then made the field goal making the score 27-24.

“oh my gosh!!! yes yes we still got it!” you screamed as you hugged claire who was george’s wife

“omg y/n i think we’re gonna make it!!!” she screamed back and you hugged eachother

“oh i know we are.” you said back to her intently watching the game

the 49ers had gotten another touchdown and then the lions got one 2 minutes later. the score was still 34-31 and the 99ers were in the lead. a few minutes of waiting for the clock to run out was the most nerve racking few minutes of your life.

“and the san francisco 49ers are going to the super bowl!!” the announcers had said causing mayhem to erupt in the stadium

“THEY DID IT!!!!!!!” you screamed to kristin and claire as you all hugged each other.

“HELL YEAH BABY WERE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWl!!!” kristin said excitedly

“let’s go see our men!!!” claire said as you all left the suite giddily to join your boys on the field

you felt like your heart was beating out of your chest as you walked on the field looking around for nick. you weren’t exactly an official couple but everyone knew you were together because you were always with him and he was always with you, but you never said that you were boyfriend-girlfriend.

“do you think he’s gonna ask you?” claire whispered in your ear as you were walking towards the boys. secretly she had known nicks plane as george had already told her but she would never ruin a surprise and a little teasing never hurts.

“what? uhh i don’t know….do you think he will?” you replied nervously as you looked at her

“if he doesn’t ill have george kill him.” she said with a wink as you walked up to george, nick, and kyle

“oh my gosh i’m so proud of you!!!” you said with a big smile as soon as you saw nick in front of you

“couldn’t of done it without you watching of course.” he said with a smile just as big as he engulfed you in a hug

“i knew you could do it.” you whispered to him as you hugged him back. you were meet with silence for a moment as he just held you and rubbed his hand up and down your back

you had no idea that behind you george and claire had been scolding him to ask you

“yes nicky?” you said using the nickname he hated but you loved calling him

“wanna come to vegas with me…as my girlfriend?” he said with a shy smile

“oh nick yes, i would love too!” you said happily as your lips meet with his.

“yeah buddy!!!!” george said from behind

“God finally. i thought i was gonna have to ask her for you…” christian said as olivia lightly pushed his arm

“YAY Y/N!!! you’re officially one of us now!!!!” kristin said as she and the girls also smiled

“alright alright! let’s go party and win this thing!!!” nick said causing everyone to cheer and disperse to party for the rest of the night

once everyone was gone you turned back to nick.

“is it too early to say i love you? honestly i don’t care because i do.” you said as you rested your chin on his chest

“i love you more y/n. forever.” he said as he leaned down to kiss you

“lets go party girlfriend…” nick said cheekily as he pulled away and stuck his arm out for you to grab

red bull: kevin and andrew. red bull is SO ravens coded and max verstappen is quite literally a kevin day variant (and vice versa). hc that kevin and riko used to race for red bull together (can you see where this is going. yeah) and andrew ended up replacing riko as the second rb driver

mclaren: shawn and derrick. shawn as lando norris and derrick as oscar piastri i don't have to explain this i think

ferrari: jeremy knox and jean moreau. jeremy is basically ferrari personified (he’s like a mix of charles, carlos, and george) while jean used to drive as an alternate for kevin & riko then transferred to ferrari after riko's crash/suicide

mercedes: matt and neil. matt/lewis older brothers of the grid and neil as the underdog (george russell). in an alternate universe this is kevin and neil

aston martin: nicky and allison. i’m not comparing nicky to alonso but allison and lance stroll (don't come for me i'm a lance stroll enjoyer i swear). also aston martin sounds so vintage and rich i think it fits them

visa rb: cat and laila. yuki telling reporters he wants to open a restaurant every interview just reminds me of cat LMAO but i don't know how this would work with the red bull and visa correlation so i guess aston martin and visa are interchangeable ? i still like it this way tho

haas: cody and pat. they would tell each other “suck my balls” on national television. underrated duo ngl

alpine: nabil and derek. okay this was really random i was running out of characters HAHHAH but pierre and esteban kind of do remind me of nabil and derek like imagine them on the track

williams: xavier and min. unproblematic team for unproblematic drivers i love alex and logan

kick sauber/audi: haoyu and travis. another unproblematic team i can see travis getting haoyu to film silly tiktoks with him and being menaces at the paddock (sometimes they rope williams into their shenanigans)

i feel like one of the reasons why the black parade may feel kind of underrated to some degree is because there was just an astronomical amount of truly groundbreaking and dare i say genre defying music being released in the 2000s that maybe overshadowed any critical acclaim that mcr might’ve otherwise received? like just from the period of 2005-2010 there was a massive influx of extremely talented artists that had just debuted (kanye, nicki, gaga, m.i.a., kendrick lamar, sufjan stevens) who can 100% be considered pioneers of their individual genres, styles, and musical subcultures. i think the attention was just all on them (and for good reason) + not many people really took “emo” music super seriously/thought of it as just a teenage-phase thing. it’s interesting to think about what kind of reaction mcr would’ve received had they released all their music say in the mid 2010s instead of the mid 2000s!

I think that could be part of it, but I do think a larger part was how the band was being “sold” to the public. They were a boy band that were in the same conversations and magazines as shit like all time low and 30 seconds to mars despite making music that I personally think was light years ahead of most of their “emo” and “pop punk” “peers”. The band and their label didn’t necessarily help themselves in this way, and I think they kinda sold themselves short by doing the festivals and tours they did. But then again, they weren’t really musically like any other acts that were being taken seriously so maybe they did fit, aesthetically, with blink182 more than queens of the stone age 🤷

When did you first read aftg?

I first read AFTG by listening to the first audiobook while riding around the bus and trains in Germany, then Seth died, I immediately needed to finish the series, and then I read the entire series in less than 48 hours rifp.

2. All For The Game or The Sunshine Court?

All For the Game. The Sunshine Court is about my son, Jean, but also... because he's my son I have a lot of points where I simply like what I wrote better! and a fair number of complaints with TSC, since a lot of the way Jean's trauma rears its head is far less realistic than how Neil's trauma rears its head.

3. Favourite scene(s)?

I won't lie, one of my favorite scenes is when Neil gets back from his father's home and the Foxes all sleep on the floor together. I'm a huge sucker for found family and hurt/comfort and MAN that scene ticked off all my boxes. It's the one that I'll actually go back every now and then to reread. Wymack's joke about "Wesninski" and that feeling of finally having a family gets to me literally every time. And blah blah yeah I also really love the mentality of Andrew dragging Wymack behind him as he crashes through everything just so he can get back to Neil's side.

4. If you could choose to make one fictional place from the books real, which one?

That place they go to when they get ice cream/milkshakes before going to Eden's Twilight! It sounds amazing

5. A character you think deserves to be more present in the books?

Hngh this is difficult because I do believe that, at least as far as AFTG goes (aka excluding TSC) the characters are all as present as they need to be. Neil is very tunnel-visioned, and I think that it's a solid amount of screentime for each character, so to say. Like my first thought was Seth, but it wouldn't have fit Neil's character for Seth to haunt him at all. Therefore, I think overall I'd liked to have seen more of Jean for purely selfish reasons. Also more Renee!

6. A non-canon ship you love?

Jean/Renee, Jean/Jeremy, Jean/Kevin, Renee/Riko, and then any mix and match of those characters in throuples/quoples/poly ships! I'm also a big fan of Dan/Renee because woooo enemies to lovers?

7. A part of the extra content you whole-heartedly agree with

Andreil never say "I love you" or get married. Also that Dan gets to take over the Foxes when Wymack retires. Also Sir and King but like. Who doesn't agree with that.

8. A crackship/crackships you've come to love

well. uh. villain I guess would be Nathan. Antagonist? Riko

NICKY, I love him so much. Also Renee. And Dan. And Matt. I'm so mad I can't just say Jean anymore since he's not really a side character anymore GAH

12. Favourite narrative foil?

I adore the Riko/Neil narrative foil. Both the sons that were not wanted, both having their lives attached to Exy and using it as a way to solidify their freedom/independence, while Neil had someone who tried to save him and Riko could only ever try to save himself.

13. Favourite narrative symbolism?

In general my favorite narrative symbolism are the keys; how they unlock opportunities for Neil; how they are signs of trust that others put in him; how they are something I don't think he ever thought he'd have (solidity/a home). I also love how much symbolism they hold for him, as well.

14. A character you would actually get along with in real life

Nicky (we'd bond over escaping our parents by running to Germany and using each other as an excuse to practice German) or Matt (because he's chill he's fun and he reminds me a lot of some of my actual friends from college).

I was browsing the Banana Fish tag and saw a post that was like "hey! do you wish that you had a series that was everything you loved about Banana Fish but with way more of Eiji pole-vaulting? then you should check out All for the Game for its mafia-infused sports anime vibes! and huzzah I haven't gotten off the hook yet

17. Would you play exy?

I feel like I'd be pretty good at it if I'd put my mind to it. It seems like fun and also I'm a bit of a masochist so I think the rougher plays would be really fun!

Probably Renee tbh because she's unsuspecting, can broker peace between people who are fighting, and has absolutely no issue wielding and using knives in fights.

Idk I feel like we'd vibe really well but wouldn't necessarily be close. He might get annoyed at how go-with-the-flow I am, though

I enjoy these headcanons and seeing people write them but I personally don't ever write him as either aro or ace. All the power to those who do though <3

I'm biased but Nicky. I relate way too hard to his story to not be biased here. But also I relate heavily to Allison and love her as well. I think she's also a lot more underappreciated out of the two, and gets a lot of unfair hate.

man you're really out here discriminating against me and my poly ship here /t, but if it's only one person then I'd say Jean because again, I'm biased.

I feel like Andrew would secretly adore Lady Gaga's Poker Face and know all the lyrics even if he'd never sing along.

27. A detail or element from an older draft you would've loved to see in the final draft

LMAO so. I'm personally a fan of the version where Riko shot Kevin because Neil dodged/Kevin dove in front of him. I don't think I would have swapped the ending that we got for it instead, but I did think that it would have been an interesting change.

All of them because Jean is my favorite but also I think I'm going to go with "I will endure. I will endure. I will endure" because it's the first one I found while flipping through my copy of TSC and skimming for lines I thought were powerful. A classic is "Did a week away from the court damage your ball-battered brain?" (TSC 24), though.
