sometimes I wonder if Niccolo ever talks about Sasha to Connie, Jean, or Armin whenever they come visiting his restaurant post-war. most of the time, I think they all collectively choose to avoid the topic entirely, and instead focus on conversing about their current lives. but perhaps, one day, as they sit around the table drinking their beverages, Niccolo starts by saying he misses her, and the atmosphere changes in a quick second; the heaviness of the air compresses on their chests, sending tears to flood their cheeks and faces. then they talk about their favorite memories of her, words in between tears and sniffles.
