He doesn't get a chance to strike - The ruff bites him firmly on the leg. "Ow!" As a reflex, he swings his arm down, hitting the beast between the eyes. "That's the spirit, boy bach!" The fairy jumps to life again, whooping at the top of his lungs. "Give 'im another, just like that!" Oliver's barely listening. "He bit me…" There's a tear in his denim, a small trickle of blood staining his knee.  "And 'e'll do it again if you don't look lively, mun!" His little paws clap. "That's just what you've do with beasties!" "But it's-!" This time, Oliver's quicker. When the ruff lunges towards him, he blocks it with his stick. "There, see, that's what we call defending." Trying to determine Drippy's tone this time is trickier. It's still coarse, but perhaps there is a hint of pride, or at least acknowledgment. "Fine and dandy, but not enough to get 'im to scamper off, you see?"

I'm replaying Ni No Kuni for the third time, and my brain is currently just absolutely full of Ni No Kuni and I am no longer capable of having proper thoughts about like, anything else.

So I started replaying the second Ni No Kuni game today which naturally made me think of the plot to the first game and, huh... wouldn't that be an interesting plot to rework with Flash characters?

Barry's mother dies in a tragic accident that is, to some degree, entirely Barry's fault. Eleven year old Barry, struggling with his grief, pulls out one of the stuffed animals his mom gave him when he was very, very little. A little weird looking creature that she'd told him was a magical fairy that would help him when he was sad.

So Barry's curled around this toy, crying, and his tears bring it to life. Freeing it from the curse that bound it in toy form. And he announces that his name is Mxyzptlk, a fairy from another world. And he, of course, knows about Barry's mom dying tragically. But!!! There might be a chance to still save her, because Barry has magic. That's how he broke the curse on Mxy. Together they can open the door between worlds and venture to Mxy's world. If they act quickly enough, they can find Nora Allen's soulmate - the version of her that lives in Mxy's world who just so happens to be a great sorceress - and she might be able to bring Nora back to life with her amazing gifts.

Barry is skeptical but he wants his mom back. So he agrees. Of course, it's not until they get to the other world that Mxy casually mentions the last time he saw this great and powerful sorceress who was Nora's soulmate... she was in battle with the ancient Sorcerer of Evil, Savitar. And that was when Mxy was turned into a doll. So he's pretty sure that they're gonna have to take out Savitar to save the Sorceress and resurrect Nora.

The first game is really good and such a fascinating interrogation of the grieving process (the second game is something of a King Arthur/high king story, though it's very fun to play too) so it fits very well with Barry's struggle to grieve for his parents on the show... and his struggle to accept the parts of him that aren't necessarily good and kind. Which also makes the position of the game's main antagonist perfect for Savitar and could give him nuance the show didn't really manage. (Well, first main antagonist in the game before the secondary story kicks off, though the secondary story is more like post game content really...)

I could see Cisco, Caitlin, and Iris being Barry's best friends in the real world, so their soulmates would, naturally, be drawn to help Barry in the other world. And there'd always be this lingering question of if this is all really happening or if it's just Barry's way of working himself through his grief and guilt.

As if I didn't have too many wips and just ideas in general right now, SERIOUSLY considering at some point in the future after I knock out a couple of the wips I have, writing a GX x Ni No Kuni au. Wrath of The White Witch style specifically as it's one of my favorite games of all time and I never was able to get into Revenant Kingdom back when that came out..

Stop letting me have thoughts guys this is why I haven't gotten anywhere in my wips in like FOREVER 😭 like at this point we won't get my annual long fic because I can't get my sit together aksksksksk

MULTI-FANDOM 1990S INSPIRED FANTASY ADVENTURE GAME AU

So what is this AU? Is it about bedrooms? Not entirely…

—PLOT—

The year is 2024 and everyone this nice as usual—Like every opening cutscene for a 1980s-2010s type of Video game from Nintendo!

The Sky is blue and the People are enjoying themselves…That is…UNTIL THE DARKNESS APPEARS!!!

A large DARK Portal Emerges from the clouds that shape it to its will…Then…Gigantic Purple tentacles start to form and Emerge from the portal as well.

People start to be Grasped by the Tentacles as they try to make their escape from the terminal fate of being pulled into the portal itself…

The city would soon be somewhat empty as around 30-something percent of the population still existed in that particular city.

Some were still in their homes…While Others were out of sight of the Giant portal tentacles that would Clench them with their Harsh Grip!

Eventully…Those who weren’t taken by the large portal would soon fall into a eternal slumbering that would normally take a Coma to wake up…But this isn’t a Coma…This is something else…

Something different…a light in the darkness if you will?

Other things about this AU:

1 - I’m planning on turning this into a Fanfic of some kind; It’s still being planned for the time being but the beginning chapters will be good in my opinion.

2 - Each Beginner chapter will follow different perspectives as they meet with other characters and they interact and figure out how they got their in the first place.

For example: Chapter #1 - The episode would be about Mickey Mouse meeting Charlie Brown or Sonic the hedgehog for example.

2/3 - This AU Will have Ocs in it, and most of them were created by me for storytelling and fanfic reasons and for fun mostly.

4 - What inspired you to make this AU?!

Well…I was inspired by the classic feel and aesthetics of these games.

1 - Kingdom hearts

2 - Sonic the hedgehog (Like Sonic adventure and its sequel.)

3 - Nights into Dreams (and its sequel.)

4 - The world ends with you (and its sequel)

5 - Worlds end club

6 - Balan wonderworld

7 - Pokemon

8 - Luigi’s mansion

9 - Ni no kuni (and its sequel.)

I like these games in particular because they are just fun! And some of them have good Fanfiction AU potential that is underused or under appreciated.

So once I get some free time I’m gonna start work on this don’t ya worry!!!

He can't tell if his throat feels clumped full of sorrow, or if it's just this awful bread.  He swallows harshly, feeling whatever it is get a little stuck. "I'm…"  He's what? There's a thousand words for what he feels right now, and he doesn't know any of them. Eventually, the only words that come to him are simply: "What was Alicia like?"
