Article by Jonathan Bomser | CEO | Accept-Credit-Cards-Now.com
Tumblr media
In today's ever-evolving health and business landscape, the merging of NMN, nutraceuticals, and merchant payment processing is reshaping our approach to wellness and commercial transactions. Join us as we explore the interconnectedness of these elements and their influence on our lives.
Nutraceuticals: Pioneering the Path to Optimal Health Nutraceuticals are at the forefront of modern health and wellness trends. This blend of "nutrition" and "pharmaceuticals" encompasses products that go beyond basic sustenance, providing health benefits to enhance overall well-being. This category includes dietary supplements, vitamins, herbal remedies, and functional foods.
As health-conscious individuals continue to grow in number, the demand for nutraceuticals has skyrocketed. People are actively seeking solutions to improve their health, manage specific conditions, and enhance vitality. This burgeoning interest has given rise to a thriving industry, where businesses must implement robust merchant account processing systems to seamlessly accept credit cards and offer customers convenient payment options.
Merchant Payment Processing: The Engine of Modern Transactions Merchant payment processing is the powerhouse driving contemporary commerce. In an era where cash transactions are dwindling, the ability to accept credit cards has become a necessity for businesses across the board. It's no longer just a matter of convenience; it's about exceeding customer expectations and driving sales.
For the nutraceutical sector, efficient payment processing is of particular significance. When customers seek health solutions, they demand a seamless, secure, and hassle-free buying experience. The capacity to accept credit cards ensures that transactions are promptly executed, nurturing trust and customer loyalty.
Selecting the Optimal Merchant Account Processing Solution The choice of the right merchant account processing solution is a pivotal one for businesses. Factors like fees, security, customer support, and alignment with your business model must all be carefully evaluated.
Nutraceutical businesses have their unique considerations. Many of them provide subscription-based supplement plans, necessitating a payment system that adeptly manages recurring billing. Given the sensitive health information involved, security is of paramount importance. Compliance with industry standards, including the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), is non-negotiable.
NMN: A Nutraceutical Game-Changer Now, let's cast the spotlight on NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide), a star performer in the realm of nutraceuticals. NMN is a naturally occurring compound found in various foods like broccoli and avocados. Its claim to fame lies in its potential to boost NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) levels, a coenzyme critical for energy metabolism and DNA repair.
NMN has garnered substantial attention for its possible anti-aging properties. As we age, NAD+ levels decline, leading to a range of health issues. NMN supplements aim to reverse this decline, presenting a promising avenue to improved health and longevity. As the demand for NMN products continues to climb, nutraceutical businesses must have reliable merchant account processing systems in place to efficiently handle the growing demand for these life-enhancing products.
youtube
The Nexus of NMN, Nutraceuticals, and Payment Processing The intersection of NMN, nutraceuticals, and payment processing presents a distinctive opportunity for businesses. With the health and wellness industry on the ascent, offering top-tier health products like NMN and delivering customers a seamless payment experience are pivotal.
Efficient payment processing systems aren't just transaction facilitators; they are central to customer satisfaction. When customers can make secure payments with their preferred credit cards, they are more inclined to complete their purchases and return for future transactions.

information.
public & private information your muse might know or not know about mine, depending on certain circumstances, situations, verse(s) and etc.
public information.
information that almost anyone can learn or know about d'lueur; this is either through d'lueur himself, research, or the media, or other forms of basic intel mediums.
his full name is de'ma lueur raphael balthazar beausoleil. most media postage will refer to him as his full first name, that is, de'ma lueur. it's easy to find media coverage of basic details about him, and not just his full name, but also his age, date of birth, height, so on, so forth. he's like a celebrity without all the fanbase fuss.
he is the first son and second child of the current reign of the beausoleil family. the beausoleil family are a kalosian family; they're ones that have considerable power and influence, stretching beyond their home region's borders. they're old money. they made their fortune in the interspecies pharmaceutical sector, producing for both human and pokémon alike. entrepreneur céline beausoleil founded drug maker LE NEXUS RENOM in the mid-1800s. the family are most commonly known for having designed, patented, and distributed the contemporary variant of the potion. yes, the one in the purple spray bottle.
by virtue of the above, he is incredibly wealthy. he is on the board of directors in LE NEXUS RENOM. he earns, without sugarcoating it, millions of pokédollars per year. certainly, more than he knows how to logically use.
he is a divorcee of two marriages. his first marriage was with kalosian-galarian fashion designer, audrey flappers, and their marriage persisted for just short of 14 years. his second marriage only lasted two years.
he has two daughters, from his first marriage. séphora beausoleil and vivienne beausoleil, 28 and 24 respectively.
semi-public information.
information that would take more digging to procure; it's not explicitly public, but relatively borderline.
he is a trans man. this doesn't quite much digging, nor does his birth name, but it is something will earn strange looks if you dare use in conversation around him.
his daughters were conceived by state-of-the-art, at the time not publicly available, technology. this technology allowed him and his wife at the time to be biological parents without a third party. it is known in contemporary times as Transformed DNA Intrauterine Insemination, and in colloquial terms as "ditto sperm", due to having the non-baby bearing partner's DNA collected and transformed into a sperm-likened object.
d'lueur is currently diversifying his portfolio and getting involved in media and telecommunications. strange to some, considering the amount of wealth he has already accrued, but not to others, knowing how the wealthy simply continue to seek fortune and fame above what is necessary.
there's been a sudden change in persona, and he has become more of a media presence in the past five years. this is incredibly strange to those who know him personally, especially for family.
private information.
information about d'lueur that someone is highly unlikely to know unless they are close or otherwise intimate with him. even those close to him may not know all these segments.
d'lueur has battled with depression for a considerable amount of years. it was one of the main reasons why his first marriage fell apart. that depression seems to be almost nonexistent as of the last five years.
d'lueur is, personality-wise, no longer himself. just over five years ago, he, in a fit of depressive impulsivity and angry hubris, broke the odd keystone binding his family's spiritomb. that spiritomb had been passed down from generation to generation for almost two centuries, now. the spiritomb proceeded to consume him, taking his body for themself. this is the event which triggered his sudden change in persona.
by virtue of the above, he now has the capacity to utilise pokémon moves. specifically, those within spiritomb's realm of knowledge. his favoured ones are PHANTOM FORCE and SHADOW BALL.
he has committed multiple murders in these last five years. alongside his persona changes, come changes in his morality.
the spiritomb controlling him has the capacity to leave his body and free him. but will it? that's to be seen.

Jonathan Bean, CEO & Co-Founder of Materials Nexus – Interview Series
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/jonathan-bean-ceo-co-founder-of-materials-nexus-interview-series/
Jonathan Bean, CEO & Co-Founder of Materials Nexus – Interview Series
Jonathan Bean is the CEO & Co-Founder of Materials Nexus. With a background in both the theoretical and practical engineering sides of material science, Jonathan was quick to identify the opportunity for a new material modelling platform. Whilst a researcher at University of Cambridge he founded Materials Nexus to accelerate the uptake of new materials to address the climate crisis.
Jonathan’s PhD research at the University of York was on advanced modelling techniques for polycrystalline materials.
Alongside his role at Materials Nexus, Jonathan is a mentor with Global Talent Mentoring and the Leaders in Innovation Fellowships run by the Royal Academy of Engineering. He also teaches Materials Science for Engineers at Trinity College, Cambridge and is a Visiting Fellow at London South Bank University.
Materials Nexus is a company using AI to make superior materials faster than ever before.
Can you share the story behind the founding of Materials Nexus? What inspired the creation of the company and its focus on AI-driven materials discovery?
Ultimately, the limit of what can be built is the materials used to build it; that was my motivation to study materials science. During my time at University of Cambridge, working with my co-founder Robert Forrest, the desire to make our research go faster inspired our pivot towards the development of machine learning algorithms. This became the foundation of Materials Nexus’ technology.
It was clear that this research could have a positive impact in the world and its adoption needed to be accelerated. In the same way, the performance of products is limited by materials, so is our progress towards net-zero. This is what inspired us to found the business.
A driving force for us as a company is to improve the state of the world, environmentally, geopolitically and ethically. Our goal is to revolutionize the materials industry by designing novel materials that meet the growing demands for both sustainability and performance.
Can you explain how AI is transforming the process of materials discovery, particularly in the context of Materials Nexus?
In the same way AI impacted the drug discovery process, it is also fundamentally changing materials discovery; transforming what is typically a trial-and-error-based approach to an intent-based design process. But unlike pharmaceutical research, there is the added complexity and a wider search space across the entire periodic table. At Materials Nexus, we’re looking at the entire length-scale, from quantum level to bulk – this means that we are not only leveraging quantum mechanics for composition prediction but also modelling processing and synthesis techniques. This allows us to not only identify, but also physically produce high-performance materials accurately, in a matter of months rather than decades, significantly speeding up the R&D process.
What are the key benefits of using AI over traditional trial-and-error methods in developing new materials?
Using AI for materials discovery offers several benefits: speed, cost-efficiency, and sustainability being key. Our AI-driven platform can analyze vast datasets and predict material properties accurately, all before setting foot in a lab, making the process cost-effective and less wasteful, as it minimizes the need for expensive and resource-intensive experiments. This also means processes that usually take days in a lab could be done in hours on our platform.
This ultimately unlocks a new set of opportunities with targeted material “design” vs. discovery. It is possible to incorporate any data set or material parameter, such as CO2 emissions, cost, or weight, and search for compositions to match those specific needs, flipping the “discovery” process on its head.
What role do AI and machine learning play in reducing the environmental impact of material production?
Leveraging AI and machine learning unlocks a vast new set of material opportunities through the discovery phase. At the production level, the impact of this is two-fold; first is the elemental composition of the materials themselves, second is the materials’ processing conditions. AI materials discovery can either exclude specific elements that have a high environmental cost (e.g. rare earth elements) or reduce their compositional percentage. It can also be used to look at processing techniques (e.g. the temperature, pressure or even purity of ore) required to make the material and identify low-energy methods. These two aspects can have a significant impact on the primary emissions of material production. However, it is important to note that environmental impact goes beyond production alone. The application of superior materials, both high performance or cheaper, can have a hugely positive secondary environmental impact by making sustainable technologies more accessible (e.g. cheaper EVs), more efficient (e.g. better computer chips for AI), and less toxic in their end-of-life disposal (e.g. replacing hydrofluorocarbons).
How did Materials Nexus manage to create a rare-earth-free magnet in just three months, and what are the implications of this breakthrough?
Our platform was able to analyze over 100 million potential compositions of rare-earth free magnets all before setting foot in a lab. This meant that when we progressed to the synthesis stage that we already had an accurate prediction of the composition and its properties.
The implications of this magnet are significant: the breakthrough goes beyond the discovery of this singular material and signals the transformation of centuries-old material design processes. As our platform becomes more developed and intelligent we will be able to predict compositions even more rapidly and across multiple material areas. With 10100 compositions of elements on the periodic table, the possibilities are endless.
Can AI potentially replace rare earth metals in other applications beyond magnets?
AI powered material discovery has the potential to identify and develop alternative materials for a vast range of applications beyond magnets. In this instance the aim was to find an alternative magnet composition that removed rare-earth elements, but our machine learning search algorithms are built to be applied to any material class. This means that we are building a universal materials design platform.
At present, our platform capabilities are focused on alloys and ceramics, with a particular focus on functional materials for applications in high-impact green-technologies such as electric motors, semi-conductors, super-conductors, and green hydrogen, to name a few.
How does the collaboration between Materials Nexus, the Henry Royce Institute, and the University of Sheffield enhance the development of new materials?
Our collaborations with key strategic partners across the UK’s innovation ecosystem, such as the Henry Royce Institute and the University of Sheffield, provide access to world-class facilities and expertise in specialized areas of materials science. These partnerships enable us to accelerate the synthesis and testing of our predictions.
What other sectors could benefit from AI-driven materials discovery, and how?
AI-driven materials discovery can impact every material class. At Materials Nexus we focus on materials that are considered some of the most difficult, and expensive, to progress and improve, as they stand to make the biggest positive impact. Every industry will be affected: energy, aviation, supercomputing, transport, to name a few. For example, in the energy sector, AI can help develop more efficient and sustainable materials for batteries and solar cells. In supercomputing, it can lead to the creation of new semi-conductor materials that enhance data storage and processing capabilities. By enabling the rapid development of high-performance materials, AI can drive innovation and sustainability across almost all industries.
What future advancements in AI for materials science can we expect to see, and how will they impact various industries?
Our work will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible and we’re dedicated to breaking those barriers.  Superior materials mean superior innovation to meet the demands of tomorrow’s challenges.  The future is only limited by our imagination.
Thank you for the great interview, readers who wish to learn more should visit Materials Nexus.

The Transformative Impact of AI on Regulatory Affairs
Leveraging the capabilities of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in intelligent document analysis, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies are transforming the landscape of regulatory affairs within the pharmaceutical sector. This transformation facilitates a more streamlined interaction between pharmaceutical companies and regulatory bodies, enhancing compliance processes. Furthermore, advancements in document management and machine learning are driving the regulatory framework towards heightened efficiency.
Introduction
Regulatory affairs in the pharmaceutical industry encompass a broad and complex field that is essential for the development, approval, and post-marketing surveillance of pharmaceutical products. This domain acts as the critical nexus between pharmaceutical companies, regulatory bodies, and the public, ensuring that the medicines reaching the market are safe, effective, and of the highest quality. The background of regulatory affairs is rich and multifaceted, evolving alongside advancements in medical science, technology, and changes in public health policies. The origins of regulatory affairs can be traced back to the early 20th century, marked by the enactment of pivotal legislation designed to protect public health. The United States' 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act and the 1938 Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as well as similar legislations across the world, set the stage for the modern regulatory environment. These laws were responses to public health disasters and growing concerns over drug safety and efficacy, laying the foundation for strict regulatory oversight of pharmaceuticals.
As pharmaceuticals became more complex and the industry globalised, the role of regulatory affairs expanded significantly. The thalidomide tragedy of the late 1950s and early 1960s, where a drug marketed for morning sickness led to widespread birth defects, underscored the critical need for rigorous drug evaluation and regulation. This incident prompted the establishment of more stringent drug approval processes and the requirement for thorough clinical trials to demonstrate safety and efficacy before a drug could be marketed. In response to these challenges, regulatory affairs professionals emerged as vital liaisons between the scientific innovations of pharmaceutical companies and the regulatory standards set by authorities. They navigate the intricate regulatory landscape, ensuring that new drugs comply with local and international laws and guidelines. Their work encompasses a wide range of activities, from guiding research and development teams on regulatory requirements to preparing and submitting documentation for product approvals, and managing post-marketing commitments and surveillance.
The regulatory framework has continued to evolve, becoming increasingly harmonised across regions through initiatives such as the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH). These efforts aim to streamline regulatory processes, reduce duplication in drug development and approval, and ensure the safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals on a global scale. Today, the field of regulatory affairs is at the forefront of embracing digital transformation, as evidenced by the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies. These innovations are set to further revolutionise regulatory compliance, making it more efficient and adaptive to the fast-paced nature of pharmaceutical development.

RUGRATS IN PARIS CUL-DE-SAC Drugs and Crime Nexus Criminal Unionism Criminology Book
Drugs and Crime Nexus
First, the ‘psychopharmacological model’ argues that certain drugs may produce irrational, excitable, or violent behaviour in an individual.  Many benzodiazepines are also likely to produce dependency in a regular user (Marshall & Longnecker 1992; Rall, 1992), and withdrawal from benzodiazepines has been associated with severe mood swings, irritability and personality changes (Marshall & Longnecker, 1992; Rall, 1992). In addition, use of benzodiazepines has been implicated in disinhibited behaviour (Bonn & Bonn 1998; Dobbin 2001; Rall 1992). Further, Makkai (2002) and Goldstein (1985) reported that some offenders use certain drugs purposely to reduce their fear of committing a crime, while Dobbin (2001) reported that benzodiazepine intoxication can produce feelings of over-confidence and invincibility in users, causing them to commit offences they would not normally undertake. Goldstein (1985) suggests that the incidence of psychopharmacological violence is impossible to assess, because such incidents may occur anywhere (including in the home, workplace, on the street and so on) and often go unreported, and also because when cases are reported the psychopharmacological state of the offender is often not officially recorded. The second model of the link between drugs and violence, the ‘economic compulsive’ model, argues that some drug users commit violent crimes, such as armed robberies, to support an expensive drug habit (Goldstein 1985), consistent with the enslavement model of property crime (Goode 1997). Theoretically, as illicit drugs are expensive and may be typified by compulsive patterns of use, the primary motivation of the user is to obtain money to purchase them. Thus, the violence is not usually intended, but occurs as a result of the situation where a property crime is being committed, such as the offender’s nervousness, the victim’s reaction, use of weapons by perpetrator or victim, or intercession by bystanders (Goldstein 1985). Studies have found that most 6 Benzodiazepine and pharmaceutical opiod misuse and their relationship to crime heroin users will avoid violent acquisitive crime if viable non-violent alternatives exist, because violence is more dangerous and also potentially increases the penalty if caught, and/or because perpetrators may lack a tendency towards violent behaviour (Goldstein 1985). In relation to violent crime, three models have also been put forward that may suggest implications for evaluating potential interventions aimed at reducing drug-related crime.
Abstract
Personality disorders and particularly antisocial personality disorders (APD) are quite frequent in opioid-dependent subjects. They show various personality traits: high neuroticism, high impulsivity, higher extraversion than the general population. Previous studies have reported that some but not all personality traits improved with treatment. In a previous study, we found a low rate of APD in a French population of opioid-dependent subjects. For this reason, we evaluated personality traits at intake and during maintenance treatment with methadone. Methods - The form A of the Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI) was given to opioid addicts at intake and after 6 and 12 months of methadone treatment. Results - 134 subjects (96 males and 38 females) took the test at intake, 60 completed 12 months of treatment. After 12 months, the EPI Neuroticism (N) and the Extraversion-introversion (E) scale scores decreased significantly. The N score improved in the first 6 months, while the E score improved only during the second 6 months of treatment. Compared to a reference group of French normal controls, male and female opioid addicts showed high N and E scores. Demographic data and EPI scores of patients who stayed in treatment for 12 months did not differ significantly from those of dropouts (n=23). Patients with a history of suicide attempts (SA) started to use heroin at an earlier age and they showed a higher E score and a tendency for a higher N score at intake. Discussion - The two personality dimensions of the EPI changed during MMT, and the N score converged towards the score of normal controls. Opioid addicts differ from normal controls mostly in their N score. The EPI did not help to differentiate 12-month completers from dropouts. Higher E scores in patients with an SA history might reflect a higher impulsivity, which has been linked to suicidality in other patient groups.
Personality
So called 'benzo binges' have been associated with shoplifting and other crimes. Patients may also experience paradoxical excitement with increased anxiety, insomnia, talkativeness, restlessness, mania, and occasionally rage and violent behaviour (known as the 'Rambo effect').
High doses are also associated with a puzzling complication known as the “Rambo effect.” This unusual side effect occurs when a Xanax user begins displaying behaviors that are very unlike them. This might include aggression, promiscuity, or theft. It’s not clear why some people react this way or how to predict if it will happen to you.
Signs and symptoms of impulsive BPD include:
Risky behavior (unsafe sex, substance misuse, driving under the influence, thrill-seeking)
Aggressive behavior (such as yelling, fighting, breaking or damaging things, and getting physical with others)
Impulsive self-harm or suicidality
High emotional reactivity
Lack of stability (e.g., frequently switching between jobs, starting and ending romantic relationships)
Attention- and reassurance-seeking behaviors
Thrill-seeking behaviors
Binging (food, alcohol, etc.)
Acting charismatic and dramatic despite often feeling empty or unfulfilled
Overspending
Making one’s mind up quickly or jumping to conclusions
Changing one’s mind or opinion seemingly out of nowhere
Genesis 4 Sermons
Chapter 4 explains the consequences of a life spent in rebellion outside of His blessings. Through the sins of Cain and his descendants, God reveals that a life lived in the world is filled with the sins of the flesh. These include: “immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Gal. 5:19-21). Yet, where the line of Cain and his descendants symbolized the deeds of the flesh, God showed His mercy by withholding judgment upon this line and His mercy by granting these descendants things to which they were not entitled. From the story of Cain’s pride and murder and the sins of his descendants, God reveals seven truths about His mercy and grace.

Tablet presses are machines designed to compress pharmaceutical powders and granules into tablets. They must be highly precise in order to create uniform tablets that each contain the same amount of active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients.
Habitants (French: [abitɑ̃]) were French settlers and the inhabitants of French origin who farmed the land along the two shores of the St. Lawrence River and Gulf in what is the present-day Province of Quebec in Canada. The term was used by the inhabitants themselves and the other classes of French Canadian society from the 17th century up until the early 20th century when the usage of the word declined in favour of the more modern agriculteur (farmer) or producteur agricole (agricultural producer). A fragrance wheel [1] also known as aroma wheel, fragrance circle, perfume wheel or smell wheel, is a circular diagram showing the inferred relationships among olfactory groups based upon similarities and differences in their odor.[1] The groups bordering one another are implied to share common olfactory characteristics. Fragrance wheel is frequently used as a classification tool in oenology and perfumery.

Criminal Unionism
In metaphysics, ontology is the philosophical study of being. It investigates what types of entities exist, how they are grouped into categories, and how they are related to one another on the most fundamental level (and whether there even is a fundamental level).
Community unionism, the ways trade unions work with community organizations, Craft unionism, a model of trade unionism in which workers are organised based on a particular craft or trade, Dual unionism, the development of a union or political organization parallel to and within an existing labor union, Industrial unionism, a labor union organizing method in which all workers in the same industry are organized into the same union, Open-source unionism, a term coined by academics Richard B. Freeman and Joel Rogers to explain a possible new model for organizing workers, Solidarity unionism, a model of labour organizing in which the workers themselves formulate strategy and take action. Leveling effect or solvent leveling refers to the effect of solvent on the properties of acids and bases. The strength of a strong acid is limited ("leveled") by the basicity of the solvent. Similarly the strength of a strong base is leveled by the acidity of the solvent. Synthetic drugs refer to substances that are artificially modified from naturally-occurring drugs and are capable of exhibiting both therapeutic and psychoactive effects.
In the medical setting, synthetic drugs possess psychotropic effects which can cure insomnia. Since there are limited clinical trials and human studies, the pharmacology and drug effects of most of the synthetic drugs are not well-known. Misuse of synthetic drugs can be fatal so take advice from the professionals before use.
Substances that possess the latter effect are known as New Psychoactive Substances (NPS). Their purpose is to mimic the actions of illicit substances by altering the structure of the original drug. By doing so, the “synthesized drug” can appear in the market without being easily detected. However, the uncertainty in the toxic effects of these substances puts the public's health at risk.[1] At present, these drugs are monitored by the Early Warning System (EWS).The major categories of NPS include synthetic stimulants, synthetic cannabinoids and synthetic depressants. Common examples from these categories are phenethylamines, cannabinoids and benzodiazepines. To exert the psychoactive effect, specific receptors such as cannabinoid, dopamine and serotonin receptors are either stimulated or inhibited[2]
A designer drug is a structural or functional analog of a controlled substance that has been designed to mimic the pharmacological effects of the original drug, while avoiding classification as illegal and/or detection in standard drug tests.
Drug design, often referred to as rational drug design or simply rational design, is the inventive process of finding new medications based on the knowledge of a biological target.[1] The drug is most commonly an organic small molecule that activates or inhibits the function of a biomolecule such as a protein, which in turn results in a therapeutic benefit to the patient. In the most basic sense, drug design involves the design of molecules that are complementary in shape and charge to the biomolecular target with which they interact and therefore will bind to it. Drug design frequently but not necessarily relies on computer modeling techniques.[2] This type of modeling is sometimes referred to as computer-aided drug design. Finally, drug design that relies on the knowledge of the three-dimensional structure of the biomolecular target is known as structure-based drug design.[2] In addition to small molecules, biopharmaceuticals including peptides[3][4] and especially therapeutic antibodies are an increasingly important class of drugs and computational methods for improving the affinity, selectivity, and stability of these protein-based therapeutics have also been developed.[5] Drug Potentiation: medicine, the effect of increasing the potency or effectiveness of a drug or other treatment. Keystone habits are changes or habits that people make and, when adopted and nurtured, trigger a domino effect of positive changes in various areas of one's life.
Identity based habits is concerned with changing your beliefs about yourself, world around you, judgements about yourself and others. Outcomes are about what you get, Processes are about what you do and Identity is about what you believe. with Identity based habits, we start by focusing on who we wish to become.

Joint Ventures as a Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) with Femme Chief Engineering Officer (CENO) below me. Thé CEO is thé Otherside of thé Joint Venture. A public benefit corporation is a legal entity that is organized and taxed as either an S corporation or C corporation.[37] Founders will want to keep in mind that C-corporations experience a double tax associated with profits and again with dividends or payouts to shareholders.[38] S corporations are a legal entity that escapes this double taxation but there are certain stipulations that an entity will have to consider before being able to file as an S corporation.[38] If you are currently an S or C corporation your company will not change its tax status when you transfer to a public benefit corporation.[37] If you are currently an LLC, partnership or sole proprietorship then you will have to change tax status.[37] While public benefit corporations are taxed the same as their underlying corporation status, there is added benefit to taxation on charitable contributions. If a firm makes donations to a qualifying non-profit the charitable contributions receive a tax deductible status. This will lower a firm's taxes compared to a typical C-corporation that is not donating money and only focusing on short term profits. Many enterprise foundations are non-profits without a personal profit motive, which sets them aside from other ownership structures. Instead, they are legally bound by their purpose, which typically is to secure the longevity and independence of the companies that they own and to contribute to society by philanthropy. As perpetuities which cannot be dissolved, they are long-term owners. However, not all enterprise foundations are equally idealistic. Some have strong ties to the founding family and continue to donate to its descendants. Others again have ties to government organisations, cooperatives or associations, which helped establish them.

Contracts and Investments
Share Appreciation Right Plans (SAR Plans)
Under SAR Plans, the corporation grants plan participants share appreciation rights. Each SAR entitles participants to receive, on vesting, the net value of the increase in the market value of the corporation’s share between the grant date and the vesting date. Share Appreciation Right Plans are similar to stock option plans in some ways, and to RSU Plans in others:
Value. Share Appreciation Rights function much like stock options in many ways – but unlike stock options, participants aren’t required to pay the exercise price when they exercise the SAR. Share Appreciation Rights start with a nil value at the time of grant, so will have no value at vesting if the market value of the shares has decreased between the dates of grant and of vesting.
Plan Terms. Share Appreciation Right Plans typically contain provisions similar to those of RSU Plans in respect to plan administration, maximum shares reserved for issuance, grant agreement, market value, employment, share capital adjustments, change of control and shareholder agreements.
Vesting. Like RSU Plans, vesting provisions in SAR Plans can also be based on time, performance or both. Performance-based SARs are sometimes called “performance appreciation rights” or “PARs”. Once vested, the plan participant can settle the SARs in cash or in an amount of shares that equals the amount payable to the participant divided by the per share market value
Deferred Compensation
Deferred compensation refers to that part of one’s contribution that is withheld and paid at a future date. Retirement plans and employee pensions are examples of deferred compensation. Employers usually withhold a fraction of employees’ compensation every month, accumulate it over time, and pay the lump sum amount on a date previously agreed upon in the employment contract.
Real Estate Joint Venture (JV)
A real estate joint venture (JV) is a deal between multiple parties to work together and combine resources to develop a real estate project. Most large projects are financed and developed as a result of real estate joint ventures. JVs allow real estate operators (individuals with extensive experience managing real estate projects) to work with real estate capital providers (entities that can supply capital for a real estate project).

Lacanianism or Lacanian psychoanalysis is a theoretical system that explains the mind, behaviour, and culture through a structuralist and post-structuralist extension of classical psychoanalysis, initiated by the work of Jacques Lacan from the 1950s to the 1980s. Lacanian perspectives contend that the world of language, the Symbolic, structures the human mind, and stress the importance of desire, which is conceived of as perpetual and impossible to satisfy. Contemporary Lacanianism is characterised by a broad range of thought and extensive debate between Lacanians.
For Lacan, the reality of human beings is constituted by three inter tangled levels: the Symbolic, the Imaginary, and the Real. This triad can be nicely illustrated by the game of chess. The rules one has to follow in order to play it are its symbolic dimension: from the purely formal symbolic standpoint, 'knight' is defined only by the moves this figure can make. This level is clearly different from the imaginary one, namely the way in which different pieces are shaped and characterized by their names (king, queen, knight), and it is easy to envision a game with the same rules, but with a different imaginary, in which this figure would be called 'messenger' or 'runner' or whatever. Finally, real is the entire complex set of contingent circumstances that affect the course of the game: the intelligence of the players, the unpredictable intrusions that may disconcert one player or directly cut the game short.”
The Symbolic (or Symbolic Order of the Borromean knot)[1] is the order in the unconscious that gives rise to subjectivity and bridges intersubjectivity between two subjects; an example is Jacques Lacan's idea of desire as the desire of the Other, maintained by the Symbolic's subjectification of the Other into speech.[2] In the later psychoanalytic theory of Lacan, it is linked by the sinthome to the Imaginary and the Real.
Post-structuralism is a philosophical movement that questions the objectivity or stability of the various interpretive structures that are posited by structuralism and considers them to be constituted by broader systems of power.[1] Although post-structuralists all present different critiques of structuralism, common themes among them include the rejection of the self-sufficiency of structuralism, as well as an interrogation of the binary oppositions that constitute its structures. Accordingly, post-structuralism discards the idea of interpreting media (or the world) within pre-established, socially constructed structures.[2][3][4][5]

Action painting, sometimes called "gestural abstraction", is a style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas, rather than being carefully applied. The resulting work often emphasizes the physical act of painting itself as an essential aspect of the finished work or concern of its artist. Soak-stain method with diluted acrylic paint It was like painting onto fabric. She placed her canvas on the floor instead of standing it up on an easel, and when she applied the paint, it would soak the canvas and leave behind a stain. She would sometimes use brushes, rollers, or sponges to manipulate the paint. Triadic harmonies are often vibrant, but without the sometimes-jarring look of a complementary color scheme. To help keep your design balanced, let one color dominate and use the others as accent colors, similar to a split complementary harmony. Try using one dark color, and a paler shade of the other two colors. In the visual arts, color theory is the body of practical guidance for color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination. Color terminology based on the color wheel and its geometry separates colors into primary color, secondary color, and tertiary color.

CRIMINOLOGY THEORIES
Choice Theory: The belief that individuals choose to commit a crime, looking at the opportunities before them, weighing the benefit versus the punishment, and deciding whether to proceed or not.
Classical Theory: Similar to the choice theory, this theory ascertains that people think before they proceed with criminal actions; that when one commits a crime, it is because the individual decided that it was advantageous to commit the crime.
Critical Theory: Critical theory upholds the belief that a small few, the elite of the society, decide laws and the definition of crime; those who commit crimes disagree with the laws that were created to keep control of them.
Labeling Theory: Those who follow the labeling theory of criminology ascribe to the fact that an individual will become what he is labeled or what others expect him to become; the danger comes from calling a crime a crime and a criminal a criminal.
Life Course Theory: The theory that a person’s “course” in life is determined by short (transitory) and long (trajectory) events in his life, and crime can result when a transitory event causes stress in a person’s life causing him to commit a crime against society.
Positivist Theory: The positivist rejects the idea that each individual makes a conscious, rational choice to commit a crime; rather, some individuals are abnormal in intelligence, social acceptance, or some other way, and that causes them to commit crime.
Rational Choice Theory: Reasons that an individual thinks through each action, deciding on whether it would be worth the risk of committing a crime to reap the benefits of that crime, whether the goal be financial, pleasure, or some other beneficial result.
Routine Activity Theory: Followers of the routine activity theory believe that crime is inevitable, and that if the target is attractive enough, crime will happen; effective measures must be in place to deter crime from happening.
Social Learning Theory: Social learning indicates that individuals learn from those around them; they base their morals and activities on what they see others in their social environment doing.
Strain Theory: The theory holds that individuals will turn to a life of crime when they are strained, or when they are unable to achieve the goals of the society, whether power, finance, or some other desirable goal.
Trait Theory: Those who follow the trait theory believe that individuals have certain traits that will contribute to whether or not they are capable of committing a crime when pushed in a certain direction, or when they are in duress.
Consensual or Victimless Crime: Consensual crime refers to crimes that do not directly harm other individuals or property. Rather, individuals choose to participate in risky behaviors that may be considered against the law. Interview – Manohara Kumar, Toppan Speciality Films
Tumblr media
In a freewheeling interview with Packaging South Asia’s Nilutpal Thakur at Toppan Speciality Films' Chandigarh office, the CEO & whole-time director speaks about their flagship GL-BOPP films, the packaging industry, and how the company is doing its bit to develop sustainable alternatives in packaging
Tumblr media
Packaging South Asia met Manohara Kumar, Chief Executive Officer and Whole-Time Director, at Toppan Speciality Films’ office in the towering Nexus Elante mall, a landmark in Chandigarh’s Industrial & Business Park. The discussions ranged from the company’s transition, the launch of the GL films in India and their target markets, and the future of the packaging industry. The sustainability angle and recycling as an alternative figured prominently in our conversation, considering the interaction happened just ahead of a key meeting for a Global Plastics Treaty held in Ottawa, Canada.
GL films and its usages
Manohara – who began his journey with TSF more than 30 years ago as a trainee before steering the organization in its growth trajectory – clarified that at present, only BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene)-based GL Films are being manufactured at the India plant. We asked him if the Indian market is ready for these advanced films and even prepared to pay a premium or if it is aware of what sustainability problems these solutions can solve. Manohara answered by saying TSF is known to be a pioneer in providing futuristic products and, hence, known to create markets for sustainability solutions rather than pitching in existing market segments. “Mostly, brands and customers are informed about the solution, but we as a responsible partner will make sure that they are updated on the advantages and challenges (if any) before they start deploying these sustainable solutions.”
The GL film range, which is used in a wide variety of fields, including the food, pharmaceutical, and industrial materials sectors, is said to be a sustainable alternative to metallized and other films. The GL-SP film uses a BOPP substrate to enable mono-material packaging that caters to the increasing demand for improved recyclability.
According to Manohara, though the target solutions for GL-PET are well established globally, for GL-BOPP, the targeted solutions are under development. For GL, TSF targets sustainability solutions of the mono-material family and transparent laminates, which can be used primarily in dry-content products such as powders, biscuits, and cookies. Some of TSF’s partners are Pepsi, Unilever, Perfetti, Nestle, Marico, and ITC. Among converters, Toppan works with Uflex, Huhtamaki and Amcor among several others.
“TSF will continue to serve both the Indian and the export market as brand requirements are present in India as well as globally,” he said, adding Toppan Speciality Films and Toppan together have developed the GL-BOPP solutions and this will remain the prime focus of TSF rather than other GL ranges that Toppan produces from its global units. “The primary responsibility of TSF will be manufacturing these films. Sales and business development will be taken care of by Toppan’s exports unit and TSF (in India).”
Outside India, the Toppan Group has production bases in Japan and North America (Georgia, US). A new barrier film production unit is expected to start operation in the Czech Republic by 2024-end.
Advanced machines at heart of production
Tumblr media
In addition, there are six vacuum metallizers, three thermal extrusion laminators, three coating lines, and one CPP line. Another CPP line along with three more metallizers is on the anvil. TSF has more than 20 slitters, including primary & secondary slitters. The company has also ventured into the production of masterbatches.
“We are gearing up to commission a new hybrid BOPP/ BOPE line in 2025. There are many other such strategic projects in the pipeline which the world will witness in the next 5-7 years,” he said, adding the company has DSIR-approved and NABL-certified R&D and quality labs. “Our team’s strength lies in our highly qualified scientists, experienced management, and skilled workforce.”
In 2022, TSF started a dedicated plastic recycling facility in Punjab’s Fatehgarh Sahib, some 40 kilometers from the Bhai Mohan Singh Nagar plant. The waste plastic recycling plant spread across two acres has a customized cleaning and processing plant with 100% wastewater recycling.
Capacity-building, cast films & differentiation
With a capacity of 80,000 tons per annum (TPA), Toppan Speciality Films, which was established in 1990 as Max Speciality Films, has an employee strength of more than 500 on its rolls with a turnover of about US$ 180 million (approximately Rs 1,500 crore) and a global footprint in 45 countries. Coming to capacity building, in the past five years, more than two dozen biaxial film lines have been installed in India, according to industry sources.
Asked if this would not commoditize the market, Manohara admitted that India has seen a considerable expansion of capacity in recent years, and the upcoming years are expected to be challenging. “While it’s natural to have concerns about potential commoditization, it’s important to consider that the market is not just expanding in size but also evolving in its requirements, opening up opportunities for differentiation based on quality, innovation, and sustainability.”
According to Manohara, the key to avoiding commoditization lies in a company’s ability to offer value beyond mere product offerings. This includes developing advanced materials that address the pressing needs of recyclability and environmental sustainability, offering smart packaging solutions that enhance consumer engagement and supply chain efficiency, and providing exceptional service that helps customers achieve their business objectives, he said.
Speaking on the advantages of cast films, Manohara explained that these can play a significant role in the Indian BOPP market due to several reasons. The first is versatility. Cast films, he said, offer a wide range of applications across various industries such as food packaging, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and industrial goods. “Their versatility makes them highly sought after in the Indian market where diverse packaging needs exist.”
Tumblr media
BOPP-cast films provide excellent barrier properties against moisture, gases, and odor, thus extending the shelf life of packaged products. “With the increasing demand for packaged food and beverages in India, particularly with the rise of eCommerce and modern retail channels, the need for effective barrier packaging solutions is growing.”
Cast films have good printing characteristics, allowing for high-quality graphics and branding on packaging. In a competitive market such as India, where brands are constantly vying for consumer attention, attractive packaging with vibrant printing is crucial for brand visibility and differentiation, he said. These films can be produced at high speeds with relatively low production costs compared to other packaging materials, making them a cost-effective choice for manufacturers in the Indian market. “This cost-efficiency is particularly important in a price-sensitive market like India.”
With increasing awareness and regulations regarding environmental sustainability, there’s a growing demand for eco-friendly packaging solutions. “Many cast films can be recycled, and advancements in technology have led to the development of bio-based and biodegradable options, catering to the sustainability requirements of the Indian market,” he said.
Sustainability at core
Sustainability is of major concern at a time when the world is looking at eco-friendly alternatives. So how is Toppan Speciality Films addressing these concerns and meeting these goals? Manohara said as the world moves towards stricter environmental regulations and consumers demand more sustainable products, TSF is well-positioned to meet these challenges head-on.
Plastic, Manohara said, can’t be done away with because of its flexibility and durability but it can be managed well with recyclability and a circular economy. He says the company is continuously working on post-consumer recyclates and biodegradable films.
“We offer mono-material solutions that increase the value of the waste stream and support ‘ease of recyclability.’ We have a separate mechanical recycling unit. We are the first one in India to develop biodegradable films according to qualification rules laid down by the government. We are in the last stages of getting clearance. We are also ISCC-certified. Our ongoing investments in sustainability initiatives, coupled with our commitment to innovation and compliance, ensure that we remain at the forefront of the industry’s transition to an eco-friendlier future.”
Elaborating on recycling, he said TSF has always focused on mono-family recyclable structures rather than multi-layered non-recyclable structures. “Hence, we continue to deliver solutions in the same direction. We are confident that if each player in the packaging industry moves in this direction, we shall be able to deliver better value for money for our customers and brands.”
Changes in the industry
The film and packaging sector, he explained, is undergoing significant changes, driven by a surge in demand for high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions. “I see several key trends shaping our industry in the coming years propelled by sustainability and circular economy with regulatory bodies worldwide implementing stricter regulations on packaging waste, the development of biodegradable materials, and the demand for simplified packaging structures.
However, for Indian manufacturers, the coming years are going to be challenging. The anticipated expansion in BOPP capacity within the country is expected to disrupt the equilibrium of demand and supply, potentially impacting profit margins adversely. Additionally, India’s exports are likely to face short-term hurdles due to current geopolitical tensions,” Manohara explained.
Talking of TSF versus its competition, Manohara said, “Toppan Speciality Films distinguishes itself through a unique blend of innovation with sustainability, quality leadership, global recognition, product differentiation, commitment to our customers, and a strategic approach to partnerships. While we have profound respect for our competitors, who each bring their strengths to the market, we believe our approach and values set us apart.”
The insightful conversation followed a trip to the Bhai Mohan Singh Nagar factory, some 60 kms away from the Chandigarh, office, about which we will write about in a subsequent issue. Toppan is participating at drupa 2024, stand Hall 3 / B40.
