Night Raven College: A (Loose) Year's Timeline
I got frustrated that I couldn't find a timeline of events for Disney Twisted Wonderland, to help me figure out which "yearly" events happened when and at what time of year each Story happened during.
So, like the Madwoman I am, I tried to make one of my own.
Just so you know, this is based on when they happen in a single year and not which years they happen at the school (since, despite game logic, I refuse to believe that insanity happens in a single year), as well as the rough estimate of when each overblot happened based on context clues and irl events they match and when the game holds them. (please note, this doesn’t include the Japan-exclusive events)
Since NRC is 4 year school, I would assume that some events wouldn’t be yearly or happen in the same year. This is just a general “yearly calendar” timeline. So specific one-time events aren't really included (like the Tsumtsum or the Apprentice Chef ones), nor are the ones that don't have stories. And since the school is based on the Western school year, it starts in the fall and not spring!
I hope my crazy is useful to someone!

If I've missed an event or you can think of a "normal" school event that should have been included but isn't, let me know and I'll add it to the list!
This is meant to be a loose timeline for what would be put on a calendar (or a fanfic writer would want included) so it doesn't include EVER SINGLE event that's been held.
Anyway, have fun with these folks!
3/13/24 Edit: I fixed a few things! Vil's and Idia's overblots happened in February along with Beanfest, it's a shockingly busy month apparently. If there are any other inconsistencies, please let me know so I can fix them!
(knowing how things progressed in the story, I'm starting to wonder if Malleus' Overblot was in March... God an overblot a month is insane XD )

So doing some research for my new story idea and found a PDF from the LAFD about Recruit Training Academy Overview from September 2017.
And I'm now pretty convinced I've found the class/group that Buck would have been a part of...
So if we go with the pilot episode that aired on Jan 3, 2018, as that is the week that episode happens in canon, then Buck has been a probationary firefighter for what four months. Okay, then you go back four months from Jan 2018, and you get September 2017. In September 2017, there's a class graduating from the academy to probation. (Note, there's about 4/5 classes each calendar year)
Now, season 2 episode 1 aired on September 23, 2018, well the class that Buck would be apart of would have their probationary year end on September 17, 2018
To summarise, this means Buck's academy class would be called 2016-4 (this is because of the fiscal year of 2016/17), it would start on May 1, 2017, he would graduate on September 14, 2017, and his probation would end on September 17, 2018.

The Wrong One
Steve Rogers x Reader, Bucky Barnes x Reader
Reader meets steve while he's on the run and sticks by him through thick and thin. Until he sees Peggy Carter.
4. The Blip
Warning: swearing, angst, miscarriage
The next couple of years were very stressful, Steve and Nat couldn't let it go, spending most of their time exploring more and more far fetched ideas for reversing the snap as time went on.
Steve insisted on living in the compound and since she wanted him happy Y/N agreed. Steve wanted kids and Y/N wanted to make him happy so removed her implant and tried to track her cycles. When they had been trying for 6 months with no luck, Steve started to distance himself. He spent more time training, working with recruits and going on missions, even late nights just walking around Brooklyn reminiscing.
Y/N didn't understand why she couldn't get pregnant. Helen Cho did a thorough examination on both of them and couldn't find any problems with her or Steve and advised them to try to relax and let it happen.
After more than 3 years trying to get pregnant, Y/N was cleaning out the cabinet in the bathroom and found some pads in the back behind some cleaning products. She froze suddenly realizing that she hadn't had her period. She went to check her calendar and counted days. She was 4 weeks late. A home test came up positive.
Y/N could barely contain herself waiting for Steve to come home so she made him his favorite dinner and dessert then showered and dressed up to wait for him.
Steve was grumpy after dealing with law enforcement all day. He just wanted to shower and lay down in a dark, quiet room. He was surprised when he saw the nice meal waiting for him. After a shower they sat down to eat and she told him her news.
Steve was thrilled, over the moon and for a few weeks life was perfect. Then it wasn't.
Y/N was woken up by a cramp in the middle of the night. It took her a few minutes to clear her head and another cramp hit. She reached over for Steve but he wasn't there.
Y/N turned her light on, sat up and pushed the blankets down. A small scream pushed past her lips when she saw the spots of blood on her night shirt and lavender sheets. She felt her eyes tear up with another cramp.
"Steve?" She tried to yell, hoping he'd hear her. A little louder "Steve!" She heard his footsteps coming closer and sighed in relief when she saw him. "Something's wrong" she whispered.
He smelled her blood before he saw it. "Shit. Ok sweetheart, you're gonna be ok." He helped her to the bathroom and set her gently on the toilet seat. Told her he'd be right back and brought a wet washcloth to clean her up, some clean panties, a pair of sweats and his t-shirt.
Y/N sat on the toilet trying not to cry as Steve helped her get dressed. He told Friday to call Helen Cho and practically ran carrying her to the med bay.
Y/N woke up to a rhythmic beeping and the smell of bleach. She felt a hand holding hers, Steve. Then it all rushed back and her eyes filled with tears.
"Steve." She whispered.
He groaned "Hhmm? What?" He wiped his hand down his face "You ok?"
She tried so hard not to cry "Stevie? Did I? The baby?" She choked out.
Steve shook his head and squeezed her hand "I'm sorry sweetheart." He held her as she cried.
Y/N was devastated, blaming herself and Steve started off caring and supportive but when months passed without a new pregnancy he started to distance himself again.
Y/N was afraid her relationship was failing and tried to reach out to him. She planned romantic dates and cozy nights in but Steve often forgot or felt too tired to put in any effort. Their sex life was practically non-existent but she worked to get his attention and it worked, sometimes.

2022 Creator’s Self-Love Extravaganza
Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 favorite works (fics, art, edits, etc.) you’ve created this year and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you’ve brought into the world in 2022. If you don’t have five published works, that’s fine! Include ideas/drafts/whatever you like that you’ve worked on/thought about, and talk a little about them instead! Remember, this is all about self-love and positive enthusiasm, so fuck the rules if you need to. Have fun, and tag as many fellow creators as you like so they can share the love!
@thelionshymnal dug this one up and while they didn't tag me, I felt the tag in my heart. Therefore, I pulled out the original rules with a little under 24 hours before the calendar flips over to a new year, I think I am safe in saying that my word count for the year is complete.
I did not write a lot this year! Comparatively, at least.* A mere 25,682 words have gone to publish. But it's also been a very disruptive year in that I quit my job of 5+ years, got rid of ALL of my stuff that couldn't fit into a tiny car, drove seven days cross country to a New Better Shinier Job (while writing a final paper), rented a 10 x 10 room above a garage for several months where my cat was very kind by not murdering me, dropped everything to sit at my dad's deathbed, went right back to work the following Monday, finished yet another graduate degree, went on a trip to Maine with friends, moved AGAIN to a much larger much more private space, and uhhh... signed up for yet another degree program. Because I have a problem. Clearly. Oh and I also broke a bone for the first time in my life! It's in my foot! I haven't gone out to do ANYTHING other than get groceries for the last two weeks and it sucks!
2022 has been a lot! More good than bad and overall improvement of everything, but a lot! And I've wanted to write. I've thought a lot about it in the moments before falling asleep! But any progress is still progress and my body comes first these days because in this house we practice self-care.
That being said, what I have put out, I've been immensely proud of. So, in no particular order and without further ado...
On the Event of the Annual Lilias Recruit Hazing Final Exam (ans, gen)
I wrote third person limited! For the first time! It was weird but also a fun to write something where the audience only has the interactions and body language to read.
2. where mended hearts meet (obiyuki, 🍋)
While I haven't been writing proper most of the year, I have been obsessing over @onedivinemisfit's camboy!obi au. It's been my personal problem, like, ever since she first introduced the concept for it and I've been screaming about it every chance that I get. Part of me much much wants to write the whole thing, but also acknowledged that I did not have the time. But also also I knew I was not going to be productive about anything at ALL until I wrote at least a little smutty smut for it. I mean, two consenting adults who are very accommodating of one anothers kinks and traumas? Sign me the fuck up, let's do this.
3. Drabble-Drabble 2022 Challenge (multiple fandoms, multiple pairings, all ratings)
Perhaps because I haven't had a chance to really focus on my writing this year, I wanted to do something uncomplicated. I remember loving drabbles back in my livejournal days. Just being absolutely laid out by 100 words precisely. But I'd never tried it myself so I wanted to give it a shot! I asked and y'all sent in around 30 prompts and I answered 26! It was a blast, highly recommend to anyone out there that wants to try their hand at it.
4. Seven Nights, Night 7 (Hakuouki, Yamachi, 🍋)
I had a moment when I went to see the timestamps of the chapters I worked on this year and it was literally just Night 7 of Seven Nights. It's split into three chapters, but it's 14k words just leading up to the final night, I don't even know what to say, y'all. Yamazaki is just real shy and writing two virgins was a lot harder than I thought (and I already thought it was going to be difficult!). I do really love it, though, they're adorable.
5. Stone Soup (Spy x Family, Yor & Yuri)
I would be remiss if I didn't include the final posted fic of the year (and my first foray into the sxf fandom!). Not only did I write a child's pov, I got to incorporate some real mean food feels into it. All together a real good time! XD
Okay! I've done it! I've said the nice things about me! Now I shall tag people, hmmm... @spoonyglitteraunt @sabraeal @claudeng80 @onedivinemisfit @infinitelystrangemachinex and anyone else who wants a go!
*Word count by year since 2016:
2016- 97,273 2017- 167,645 2018- 138,769 2019- 130,429 2020- 126,435 2021- 91,014 2022- 25,682

Character Profile: Mae Ishikawa, The Sole Survivor
Pre-War
Tumblr media
Post-War
Tumblr media
*Not featured: Scarring from being frozen, as well as misc. scars from general wasteland mishaps,
Full Name: Eleanora-Mae Ishikawa (Maiden Name; Hishiro)
Birthday: Spring of 2037
Legit just can’t find the day/month right now, but it could be May 11th. Will update later when I find it.
Age: Through the story she goes from 30 to 50+ (this goes from 10 years before the war to the years after it).
Family: (I’ll get all their names when I find them)
Takeshi Ishikawa; her husband and ultimate house husband. Used to be a firefighter and there’s a calendar to prove it. Childhood friends. Her first love, although they didn’t get together until adulthood.
Ren Ishikawa; she first child and her pride and joy. They’re incredibly intelligent, sassy, and ambitious. Also neuro-divergent like their mother. Is 17 when they get frozen. They’d just started college.
Father Hishiro; she takes after him as far as being more reserved, but also his patience. A very dedicated man if not a little weak-willed when compared to others in the family. Grief irrevecobly changed him. Was alive at the time the bombs drop.
Mother Hishiro; Mae’s grace, kindness, and ferocity come from two people and her mother is one of them. Endlessly patient and understanding of her daughter. A good person with a strong will. It’s what got her killed. Died shortly before/during the beginning of highschool.
Lin Hishiro; Mae’s twin sister and the more energetic of the two. Takes on the family business much to Mae’s distaste, and despite all the arguing they are die hard for each other.
Grandma Hishiro; the head of the family after her grandfather died, and acts with all the authority that grants her. A poised yet terrifying woman with a huge soft spot for her family.
History: Mae grew up in Queens, New York alongside her twin sister as second generation Japanese-Americans. Her family moved during mass immigration from Japan to New York and settled there due to family friends, the Ishikawa’s, haven already settled.
Their lives were hard, but they enjoyed a slightly better life-style by taken advantage of corruption to protect their own little pocket of the neighborhood. Back door deals with corrupt cops and the local mafia made the Hishiro’s the leaders of their part of the neighborhood, a fact Mae and her sister remained blissfully unaware of until the death of their mother. Their mother was killed by a young hot shot, and their Grandmother went on a warpath.
In the end, the Hishiro’s ended gaining a lot of power and influence in the area, and built a successful business as a front to more illegal activities. Mae, ever the morally righteous, left home at 18 and swore off contact with her family. She was able to get scholarships and pay her own way through college and university by working and eventually promising herself to General Atomics. She had a child and got married her first year into grad school and then graduated the Commonwelath Institute of Technology in 2066 with a PHD in AI Theory and minor in pyschology. She worked briefly at General Atomics before the DIA recruited her for The P.A.M Initiative where she worked for the next ten years.
Interests: Her hobbies/interests include botany/gardening, chess, jigsaw puzzles, and reading/watching any detective noire (this includes the Silver Shroud).
SPECIAL:
Strength - 4
Perception - 10
Endurance - 4
Charisma - 6
Intelligence - 10
Agility - 8
Luck - 5
Combat Abilities:
Generally speaking, she’s a non-combatant relying on other skills to get out of a bad situation. However, if the need arises she’s good with pistols, some rifles, and laser weaponry.
If I had to pick some perks for her I would say her main ones would be: Awareness, Local Leader, Hacker, Science!, Robotics Expert, and Sneak.
Comments: My sosu has changed a lot since I first started this blog and here she is now in all her updated glory. There’s a lot left out since her story is on-going on ao3. Like her history is such a skimmed version of events and doesn’t really get to go into the fleshed out nuances of everything. Hope to post more about her in the future!

Kris Needs a Vacation
ao3 link:
Summary: BC Sol has grown tremendously over the past year or so. However, with their newfound popularity, came their own downsides. In this case, hundreds and hundreds of applications to join.
Now Kris needed to find someone to fit the recruitment position. That shouldn't be too hard, right?
Words: 2120
Valt
Kris sat in her office, deep in thought and glancing at the calendar slightly. It was summer, the month of June, and the time where new recruits are chosen to join the highly sought-after team, BC Sol.
When they had won the European League nearly a year ago, to say that they were ecstatic would be an understatement. She still remembered the tears that rolled down her cheeks when she saw the team of her dreams cheering and crying around her, hugging and jumping at the battle she couldn’t believe came from one of them. The blissful atmosphere that engulfed everyone.
Then as if that wasn’t enough, a short time later came the International Blader’s Cup, and 4 of her own bladers were invited, even two finishing in the finals. The tournament ended with Valt becoming world champion, a title she couldn’t have prouder of, seeing a kid that has grown to great heights.
Her team was flourishing, right before her eyes. But of course, with those accomplishments under the team’s belt, came with their own issues, which brings her right back to what sat in front of her.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of applications, all coming from bladers hoping to join BC Sol.
She groaned and ran her fingers through her hair, laying her arm on the table to think of what she was going to do. Previously, the job was done by her and Trad, but of course Trad was no longer on the team, and she was already having troubles balancing managing the team and being the director of the WBBA.
She had gone to asked Raul, but he declined the job. When asked why, he didn’t give much of an answer, other than it’s not a position that is for him. Who does that leave, then? Maybe one of the bladers...?
Knock knock
“Hm?” Kris glanced up at the door. It was slightly ajar with a sheepishly familiar head of blue hair appearing behind it. She smiled. “You can come in.”
Valt popped his head in the room.
“Sorry to bother you,” he laughed. Stepping inside, she saw the stack of papers in his hands, and could already feel the headache coming. “These are the rest of the applications that were sitting in the office. Though I think I missed a couple-“
“It’s fine! Just set them on the table over there.”  She let out a sigh, but kept a strained smile on her face. “I’m assuming you finished your trip?”
He immediately lit up.
“Yeah, it was awesome! Everyone was so nice and there were so many cool sights over there! I wish I got to battle more though. But still, it was so much fun!”
Kris softened a bit when an idea popped in her head.
“Say… How long is it before your next trip?”
“Uh, I think I got a few months before that tournament in Japan. Maybe 3 or 4?” He quickly got out his phone and tapped on it for a bit. “Yeah, 3 months, it looks like.”
He looked up, slightly confused. “Why?”
Kris got up with the stacks of papers on her desk and placed them on top of the ones that he had set on the table. It made a plop as they hit the surface. “Valt, would you be interested in completing the recruitment process this year?”
Valt stared at the very thick pile of applications next to him for a few seconds with a blank expression, though for Kris, she could feel sweat accumulating by the minute. Suddenly though, a smile broke out on his face.
“Really?! I would love to!” His grin stretched from ear to ear while bouncing in his steps like a little kid. She let out her breath, and side-eyed the way that Valt’s eyes sparkled at the hundreds of paperwork. “Now remember the criteria, they must complete all three stages and show exceptional dedication and potential in each facet of blading. Identification must be shown, along with the specs of their bey to verify their qualification for official tournaments. Valt, are you getting this?”
The younger boy nodded, making a poor attempt at containing his excitement. Kris simply smiled and motioned for him to take the papers. He took it with no hesitation. “Alright. I’m trusting you. When you finished the first stage, hand me the list of qualified applicants.”
“Got it! I’ll do my best!” With that, he ran off, and Kris sat back in her chair with relief. Thank god that problem was solved. Now she could focus on her other duties, and no longer worry about it again.
~
A mere 2 days passed before Kris heard from Valt. She had just gotten back from a meeting when a knock came at the entrance of the office.
“Come in.”
Just as she began to unwind, she was met with yet again the same problem being put right in front of her, sitting between the papers.
“Valt. Why are there over 400 names written down? The selection should’ve been barely 100.” Her eyebrow was raised and skeptical as she glanced at the nervously smiling boy.
“There were so many amazing bladers Kris, you should’ve seen them! They all did so well, it was so hard to narrow it down!”
“You did this in 2 days, I doubt that 400 people were seriously considered.”
“C’mon, just give them a chance, please???”
Setting the papers aside, she looked up and exhaled. “It’s alright, we’ll just have to do the process again. Thank you for your time Valt.”
He pouted and left the room.
Silas
Kris sat in thought once again, and looked over the names that were written down. Of course Valt wouldn’t be able to choose, he was too nice. They needed someone a bit harsher. Someone like…
“I got it!” Kris yelled out loud to herself. Quickly typing a contact on her phone, she tapped call and waited for it to get through.
“Hello?”
“Silas, can you come to my office real quick?”
“I’m uh-I’m a little busy right now... hey!”
“Kris! Is that you?”
“…Hello, Cuza.”
“You wouldn’t believe what just happened, listen- HEY let go!!”
“Give me back my phone!”
“Nuh-Uh! You’ll have to catch me!”
“WHY you little-“
“BOYS!”
The other end quickly fell silent. She breathed in and spoke calmly.
“Silas, come to my office. Now.”
“Uh, sorry it’s still me. Hey Silas, Kris said-“
“I heard her, I’ll be right there, now hang up.”
“Alright! Hey Kris, Silas said-“
“I said hang up-!”
And with that the call ended. Even through her frustrated state, she couldn’t help but smile to herself. Why did she expect any different?
A while passed before Silas came. He was breathing weirdly, like he had just finished running, or perhaps chasing a certain someone. Instead of making a comment though, she simply motioned him to the chair in front of her desk and towards the papers before her.
“I need you to take care of the recruitment process.”
He ticked his tongue.
“Wasn’t that Valt’s job?”
“Yes, but as you can see, we decided that he wasn’t fit for it. I figured you’ll be able to choose wisely, wouldn’t you?”
Giving a smirk and propping up his glasses, Silas responded. “Of course I will. After all, BC Sol needs to the best of the best, so I’ll fit the job perfectly.”
At least he’s modest.
“Alright, but pick carefully. There needs to be 100 bladers for the next stage.”
“Yeah, I got it.”
“Perfect, you’re dismissed.”
~
Two names.
That’s it.
Two. Fucking. Names.
“Silas, what is this?”
The guy just looked up and nodded towards the paper.
“Hm? What you mean? It’s the bladers who passed.”
Kris could feel her knuckles grow white with the paper in her hand.
“Why- are there only two?”
“Oh, they were all hella weak. Didn’t even last a second in the stadium. I’m doing you a favor, really.” He said, rolling his eyes while doing so.
She took a deep breath. Calm and collected. Just be calm and collected.
“So only two didn’t?”
“Nah, they were weak too, but they talked good shit so they’re aight.”
Kris pinched the bridge of her nose. She needed a vacation. “Alright you’re dismissed, I’ll just get someone else.” With a huff, he left towards the door and quickly closed it shut, but not before a giggle could get through.
Back to the drawing board. Fuck.
Free
“Hey Free, do you mind-“
“No.”
Rantaro
Alright. Kris looked at the stack of papers for what felt like the hundredth time that week. She could’ve sworn it was taunting her.
So Valt couldn’t do it. Neither could Silas. Raul rejected the offer. Free declined before she could even ask. The deadline is coming up fast.
I swear to god, this will be the end of me-
“Yo, Kris!” The door opened to reveal Rantaro peering into the office. “Ange was looking for you, something about dinner and- uhh, you good there?”
Looking up with a flickering eye, she nodded with a constrained smile, practically feeling the nerve bulging on her forehead. “Of course, I’m perfectly fine! You know, I just got all this paperwork left to do and- hold on…”
Rantaro stared in confusion as Kris searched through the papers scattered over the table and floor, picking up a couple and leaving some in the ground to be slipped from later, her hair an absolute mess.
“Rantaro!” She exclaimed, going up to the taller boy hastily and dropping the papers in his hands. “How would you like to do the recruitment process this year?!”
He stayed quiet for a minute, letting the words soak in his head. “You-you want me to do it?!” His voice was high-pitched and like Valt, his eyes sparkled, thought this time it may be from tears. “Really…?”
“Absolutely! I know you’ll be a great fit. If anyone can, it’s you!” This time, it really looked like Rantaro was about to cry, but kept it in if only to look professional and put together.
“This is…This is such a big honor. I can’t believe I was the first person you thought of! I won’t disappoint!” She laughed nervously and patted him on his shoulder.
Yup, first person….
“I know you will. Now, tell Ange I’ll be right there.”
“Got it!” With that, he was off, practically skipping his way out of the office. Kris finally sat back on the couch. Please. Please let this one work.
~
To her surprise, Rantaro turned out to really be the perfect fit. After a week, he came back with the list, and it was 100 names to the dot. Still skeptical that this will really work out, she allowed him to move on the next stage, which should have an estimate of 20-30 spots.
He came back with 27 names.
By the time it was all over, he came back the names of the five bladers that made it through, and even provided notes on each one, with their strengths and noticeable qualities that made them stand out.
Really, she couldn’t have asked for a better person for the job. He even seemed content during it, happily helping the rookie bladers. But most of all, she felt relief, no longer having that stress hanging over her.
Of course, no one had the guts to tell Rantaro that he was, in fact, not the first person to be assigned the position. Well, Silas did, but Valt and Kit quickly shut him up before he could say anything.
So all well that ends well…
A few years later
“Hey Kris?” Cuza said. He was walking along the rail of the bleachers while the now-20-year-old manager was watching the practice arena, bustling with activity.
“Hm?” she responded distractedly.
“Aren’t the new recruits supposed to be coming soon?”
She looked at in confusion. “That’s Rantaro job, he’ll… oh.”
The realization hit her as soon as she opened her mouth. She put her head in her hands.
“Oh, don’t you remember, he’s working with the Comets-“
“Yes, I know, Cuza.”
The performer smiled and jumped down in display to land in front of benches, right where she was sitting. “Don’t worry, I can do it!”
That gave Kris a chuckle, looking up from her distress in amusement. “Really?”
“Yup! It’s just writing down names, sounds easy to me!”
Easy. Easy he says. Kris got up and trudged towards the door. “You know what, I’m going to get some air. Can you watch over the bladers for me?”
“Will do!” He bounced up and stood on the bench, carefully surveying the building. Kris didn’t bother telling him to get down.
I need a nap.

594: Crafting Your "To-Don't" List As A Construction Business Owner
This Podcast Is Episode 594, And It's About Crafting Your "To-Don't" List As A Construction Business Owner
Your to-do list is often long and constantly growing longer when you're an entrepreneur. There are a lot of things you need to do, and it can feel like they're all urgent. In such cases, it's easy to push essential tasks to the side and focus on less vital activities, but that often means you miss deadlines, make mistakes, or always feel like you're trying to catch up.
Here are some ways to determine the most productive order to complete your tasks.
  1. Know all of your tasks
It isn't enough to have a running list of tasks in your head; you need to write them out so you can see them at a glance. Take the time to list all your tasks, and break down large tasks into smaller steps.
Write a list of the activities you must do for the week—or even the next two weeks—on Monday morning. Include information such as how urgent they are, how long they'll take to complete, and their deadlines.
Now you know what you'll need to complete and when.
  2. Determine what tasks are vital
There are many methods for determining which tasks are the most vital. We'll go into the Eisenhower Decision Matrix and the ABCDE Method.
In the Eisenhower Decision Matrix, you classify each task into one of four quadrants. These quadrants are based on whether the task is important, urgent, or neither. Tasks that are important and urgent should be done first, followed by those that are either important but not urgent or urgent but not important, and finally, those that are neither important nor urgent. If possible, delegate tasks that aren't both important and urgent to someone else.
Another method is the ABCDE method, in which you assign each task on your list a letter from A through E based on its level of importance. Tasks with a level of A or B are the most important, while D and E are unnecessary. Anything from C down can likely be rescheduled or delegated to someone else.
  3. Schedule your tasks
Now that you know which tasks are the most important, schedule your to-do list in that order. Write yourself a daily list that puts the most critical functions at the start of your day. Don't overschedule yourself, though. After all, there's a good chance that a new, essential, and urgent activity will arise during your week, and you'll need the space in your calendar to address it.
Give yourself deadlines in the day to get the work done based on a reasonable assessment of how long the activity should take you. You can also chunk your work, setting aside specific, uninterrupted periods to do focused work and then scheduling breaks around that. Ensure you turn off distractions and let your colleagues know you aren't available during those times.
As a construction business owner, consider outsourcing various operations to improve efficiency and focus on core business functions. Some tasks that can be written down under your "To-Don't List" and outsourced include:
  1. Accounting and Bookkeeping: Hiring a professional accounting firm can help manage your finances, provide accurate financial statements, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  2. Project Management: Outsourcing services can help streamline construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  3. Marketing and Advertising: Working with a marketing agency can help promote your construction business, generate leads, and enhance your online presence.
  4. IT Support: Tech services can ensure your technology infrastructure is well-maintained and secure, allowing you to focus on your construction projects.
  5. Legal Services: Hiring a legal firm specializing in construction law can help protect your business and navigate complex legal matters.
  6. Human Resources: They can assist with recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws.
As a short reminder that you can ponder on:
To-Don't List for Construction Business Owners
Don't ignore safety protocols and regulations
Don't neglect regular equipment maintenance
Don't overlook obtaining the necessary permits and licenses
Don't avoid clear and detailed contracts for projects
Don't skip regular communication with clients and employees
Don't disregard the importance of staying updated on industry trends and technology
Don't underestimate the importance of accurate and timely financial record-keeping
Don't hesitate to seek professional advice when needed
Outsourcing bookkeeping and accounting can offer significant benefits to construction contractors.
Here's why it's essential to consider adding these tasks to the to-don't list:
  1. Expertise and Compliance: Navigating the complexities of construction accounting requires specialized knowledge. From job costing to progress billing, having professionals who understand the industry's intricacies is invaluable. Outsourcing ensures access to experts who comply with industry-specific regulations and standards.
  2. Time and Focus: Managing bookkeeping and accounting in-house demands time and attention that could be better directed toward core business activities. By outsourcing these tasks, contractors can refocus on project management, client relationships, and business growth, ultimately increasing productivity and efficiency.
  3. Cost-Effectiveness: While some might perceive outsourcing as an added cost, it can be a cost-saving measure in the long run. By avoiding hiring and training in-house accounting staff and investing in accounting software and infrastructure, contractors can achieve significant cost savings by outsourcing.
  4. Scalability and Flexibility: As construction businesses fluctuate with project demands and seasonal variations, the scalability and flexibility offered by outsourcing are invaluable. Whether managing peak periods or adjusting to business contractions, outsourced accounting services can adapt to the contractor's needs.
  5. Reduced Errors and Risk Mitigation: Bookkeeping and accounting errors can have costly implications for construction contractors. Outsourcing to professionals reduces the risk of mistakes, ensures accurate financial records, and mitigates potential risks associated with economic mismanagement.
  In conclusion
As construction contractors like you craft your to-do lists, you should also consider the tasks that belong on the to-don't list. Outsourcing bookkeeping and accounting offers a strategic advantage, providing access to specialized expertise, freeing up time and focus, and delivering cost-effectiveness, scalability, and risk mitigation. By recognizing the value of outsourcing in these critical areas, you can position your business for tremendous success and growth.
Remember, these "to-don'ts" are as important as the "to-dos" for a successful construction company.

How to Balance Academics and Athletics: Tips for High School Basketball Players
Do you sometimes feel as if you are doing texts and dribbling a ball the same time?
High school itself is a daunting task to any student, however, add to it the complexities of expectations regarding basketball practice, training, games…. It’s a whole new ball game and it feels as though you are dribbling across a battlefield. Any student athlete residing in Austin, Texas will tell you that pursuing their academic work alongside their basketball aspirations is quite Shera da Silva and the only answer I can give is overwhelming.
But do not fret about it! You can achieve your goals both in sports area and at studies with the appropriate adjustments.
Need for Equilibrium
Tumblr media
First of all, let me explain some of the reasons balance is extremely important. High school is a turning point of a person’s life as this is when a blueprint for the individual’s future is established. No matter if you set your sights on a sports scholarship, or you just intend to bear on playing the sport you so adore – the bookwork is equally essential as the sport. Therefore, most of the college scouts and coaches prefer recruiting student athletes who have such qualities. Indeed, keeping good grades will help you in college application processes more than your shooting skills will do.
Time Management Practices
Tumblr media
Time is the scarcest resource and one of the most common problems people face. Considering high school basketball training programs, practices, games, and homework on top of it, one can easily find themselves in the position that there are not enough hours within a day. Here’s a practical piece of advice: go ahead and make a weekly planner highlighting the time to devote on schoolwork and on basketball. Schedule the non-negotiable periods for study as you would schedule a practice.
Example: If you have basketball practice booked every day from 4-6 PM, make it a point to schedule time for your homework from 7-9 PM. Make use of a planner or a digital calendar to also record what you consider mundane issues like assignments, tests and game days. By seeing everything in a linear fashion, they will help you be able to plan your time more effectively and eliminate the strain of doing everything at the last minute or working on hasty projects.
Stay Organized
Tumblr media
Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing." – Pelé
Most of the time and in real life, more than one task can feel so overwhelming. Go on, it’s ok to be sloppy with where you keep your books, stationary, and even your sports equipment. Get your study area free from any distractions, as well, be prepared to tackle your basketball practice at any time as your basketball bag will already be packed. Though this sounds trivial, being able to find everything at the right time can make a significant difference in how much time and pressure you will have to go through.
Fact: Studies have shown that neat notes as well as good studying environment contributes positively to the learner’s academic performance. The same principle applies to your basketball training – organized athletes will get over how well and when they will be performing most of their drills as well as where they have placed their equipment.
Speak Up and Confer with Your Instructors and Coaches
Do talk to your teachers and coaches about your timetable without any fears. Usually, most of the educators and coaches understand the concerns of student athletes and most of them will be flexible. For instance, if you have a game or tournament that you feel might come close to a test or assignment, please let the teacher know in advance. Just the same, when the schoolwork becomes excessive, go see your coach and tell him/her to adjust you training timetable for a while.
Example: Maybe you have an important game on Friday and you have a test scheduled for Thursday. In that case, try talking to your teacher in order to take the test earlier in the week. The coaches often like to know when their players are under the weight of studies and are usually flexible with in what mood class can be practiced.
Choose Your Battles
Excellence is not a singular act but a habit. You are what you repeatedly do." – Shaquille O’Neal
Free time is a privilege and that is why student-athletes should manage off time investment well. This does not imply that every hour of the day should be spent looking for something to do – there are times where everyone requires breaks. But rather than wasting hours on virtual networks, better be active during the short intermissions by going through the class notes, reviewing the videos of previous matches, or doing some homework.
Tip: If a huge amount of material is to be learnt, adjust study sessions and allocate small steps preferably of 25 minutes each and allow some breaks as you go on. This approach popularly called the Pomodoro Technique is aimed at enhancing concentration and avoiding anxiety.
Take Care of Your Body
No doubt your body is the best tool for earning your income as an athlete and therefore your focus should be on its care. It includes such factors as adequate sleep, a well-balanced nutrition and well-hydrated. It is easy to find oneself going to bed very late as they try to study or even to spare some time with friends, but this brings negative implications to both the sporting skills and the academic attention. Understudy of sleep is correlated with performance deficits and inattentiveness therefore some slumber is still crucial for flourishing optimally.
Fact: Teenagers generally require that number of hours of sleep within the ranges of 8-10 hours of ought nightly in order to be at their interaction’s points. Any period of brain rest and imposition of physically active workload slots leads to cut off fixed lower performance incomes. As Docking R proposes later tardiness will mean that some forms of loss will need to be accepted as now time re-allocations will be rare and will not be for all forms of timing.
Tip: Allocate your examination interventions in a way that they do not diminish your periods of sleep. If you look very often on your close surroundings, grasp up to the above-mentioned hour, and let me take off some tea, let us take some take some take some time off the distance sitting on the supper driving the care of your waist so, heading back, observe the planning for this.
Stay Mentally Tough
"You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take." – Wayne Gretzky (popularized by Michael Jordan)
In truth, competition at the collegiate level at times requires students to exert their mental prowess as much as their physical prowess. All over the world it is inevitable to support students with so much demands at times. However, strengthening oneself psychologically allows you to overcome some challenges. You can also turn to exercise, and in this case, it’s the mind. Not just any kind of exercise – a mindful one – so deep breathing or meditation will help. There will also be times when you feel like quitting, so having a positive disposition will help us persuade ourselves to carry on whenever you’ve set your eyes on something.
For Example: Before a big game or exam, take a few minutes to try and picture all that will happen; your success. Picture the ball perfectly finding the net from your three points attempt or you being asked to leave a room after you have passed your test sit. Just rehearse how confident you will be and perform in both areas.
Seek Support When Needed
Every person will, at one point in time, need help, and as a result, does not consider it a disgrace. It may be getting a tutor for difficult math equations or seeking more practice to sharpen your skills on the court; ask support is not weakness. Create a safety net: Friends, family, teachers, and coaches are crucial and positive resources that will help you keep on the right path.
Tip: Don’t isolate yourself. Find a group of people or a single person who is also studying and plays sports. This way you can help each other out and give tips, etc.
Utilize High School Basketball Training Programs
In case you are enrolled in high school basketball training programs like the ones at Texas Pro Academy getting into these usually works out to be smart as training is easily fitted in a busy academic calendar. These types of trainings provide an opportunity for basketball players to improve their skills in a structured environment while still being in school. It enables you to optimally use the time you have left to focus on your education as it helps put boundaries on the training.
Example: Training sessions that Texas Pro Academy organizes are not rigid and are scheduled when school work is over making it easy to do both school and sport. The services of coaches aim at enhancing one’s performance as an athlete and a student highlighting the fact that one does not have to choose one of the two.

Key Features to Consider When Choosing HR Software for Saudi Arabian Businesses
Choosing the right HR software in Saudi Arabia is essential for businesses to effectively manage their workforce. With the unique labour laws and regulations in the Kingdom, it’s important to select software that meets these specific needs. HR software in Saudi Arabia must handle various tasks like payroll management, employee performance tracking, and recruitment efficiently. It should also be localized to accommodate the Arabic language and the Hijri calendar, ensuring smooth and compliant operations.
Tumblr media
By focusing on the key features that are most relevant to Saudi Arabian businesses, companies can enhance their HR processes, improve employee satisfaction, and maintain legal compliance. This introduction highlights the importance of carefully choosing HR software in Saudi Arabia to ensure that it aligns with the local business environment and meets the specific needs of the workforce.
Here are some key features to consider when choosing HR software for Saudi Arabian businesses.
1. Localization and Compliance:
Tumblr media
It's critical to make sure HR software complies with regional labour laws and regulations when choosing it for Saudi Arabian firms. There are labour laws in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that need to be followed. These laws cover things like working hours, pay, and employee rights. The software needs to be localized, which means that it should be able to easily handle Arabic and the features of the Hijri calendar. Maintaining adherence to local legislation promotes seamless HR operations and helps to prevent legal problems.
2. Payroll Management:
Tumblr media
Robust payroll management tools are essential for efficient HR software. Accurate computation of pay, benefits, deductions, and end-of-service payments are all included in this. With variables like overtime, bonuses, and different allowances, payroll processing in Saudi Arabia is complicated. The software should automate these procedures to cut down on errors and save time. The program should also be able to generate salary files that comply with the WPS (Wage Protection System), which is a requirement in Saudi Arabia.
3. Employee Self-Service:
Tumblr media
Portals for employee self-service should be provided by quality HR software. With the help of this tool, workers may examine their paystubs, request leaves, access their personal information, and amend their information without constantly contacting HR. Employee empowerment is accompanied by a decrease in the administrative workload for HR personnel, freeing them up to concentrate on more strategic duties.
4. Performance Management:
To monitor and assess employee performance, performance management features are necessary. The program ought to make goal-setting, performance evaluations, and feedback-giving easier. The software must possess sufficient flexibility to integrate diverse appraisal methods and criteria, particularly in Saudi Arabian businesses where cultural issues may impact performance evaluation processes. This promotes fairness and transparency in performance evaluations.
5. Recruitment and Onboarding:
Attracting and keeping talent requires efficient recruitment and onboarding procedures. Managing applications, tracking the hiring process, and posting job openings should all be possible using the HR software. Following selection, the onboarding module ought to facilitate the new hire's smooth integration into the business. This guarantees a smooth transition for new hires and involves document verification, training schedules, and orientation programs.
 Conclusion
