𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐞, 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧. in another universe
❝ If you find yourself out, if there is a right
time chances are I'll be here, we could
share a lifeline ❞ - free now, gracie abrams
The rest of the drive to Owen's house was uncomfortably silent, the pair got out of the suv and walked up to Owen's house.
They walked down the hall that smelled of dust to Owen's room, "I'm gonna look on his computer." Spencer said and Isabelle nodded.
She sat down on the end of Owen's bed and observed his room, repeatedly rubbing the sweat off her palms against her pants, praying it would go away but it only appeared again.
Spencer kept his eyes fixed on her computer even though he felt Isabelle's eyes boring into the back of his skull.
"Neutrinos." Isabelle said and released a shaky breath.
Spencer turned, "Huh?" "Neutrinos are nearly massless particles that-"
"Isa, I know what neutrinos are." Spencer said, a slight laugh escaped his lips.
She looked at him, "Right, sorry, well then you know they're strange- they're almost nothing at all, they have no mass no charge. They're just little whisps of," She paused, "Nothing."
Spencer looked at her puzzled, "Why are you telling me this?"
"I was reading a paper about them and I tend to link things to people- like if I listen to a song that reminds me of someone, and while I was reading I just kept thinking about myself."
Spencer tilted his head, as if to ask, 'How?' "Neutrinos- they don't bond with anything."
Spencer kept his eyes fixed on her's, "Good thing you're not a neutrino."
Isabelle looked up, "Was that a joke?" She asked sincerely, "No! I mean I'm just saying even though you feel like a Neutrino you're not one, you can bond with people."
"Realistically I know that, but it doesn't feel like it."
"Who have you bonded with?" Spencer questioned, "A lot of people. I don't actually mean actually bonding- I mean like loving someone."
"You don't feel like you could love someone?"
"Sort of. Mostly I feel like someone could never love me."
Spencer thought that was the dumbest thing Isabelle ever said, but instead of telling her that he stood up from the chair and sat down next to Isabelle on the bed.
"For a long time I felt the same, I loved my mom and I knew she loved me but I never thought I'd find... romantic love."
"I thought I'd just be alone forever no one to come home to or anyone who would enjoy my company- But then I found you." Spencer's eyes were somehow filled with sorrow and affection at the same time.
Isabelle's lips turned down, "Do you believe there are other universes?" She asked.
"I don't know." Spencer replied honestly, he hadn't spent enough time researching about them to give a definite answer.
"If I could live in an alternate universe..." Isabelle trailed off and looked down, "I'd chose one where we didn't break up."
She could feel her eyes burning, tears reluctantly falling, Isabelle covered her face with her hands, embarrassed.
"Fuck. I hate crying." She rubbed her eyes.
Spencer placed his hand on her chin, gently angling her face toward him.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Isabelle groaned and stood up, "Who is it?" She called and walked down the hallway, "Morgan! Hotch sent me over here to help you guys." He yelled from the other side of the front door.
The three walked back to Owen's room, Spencer immediately beginning to search the computer again.
Morgan noticed the tension and glanced between the two, "You guys okay?" Isabelle nodded quickly, "Yeah! It's just a heavy case, you know?"
Morgan nodded, "You guys find anything else out?"
Isabelle looked to Spencer, "Well it seems like Owen just wants to forget everything."
Morgan gritted his teeth, "Hm, I noticed he makes a big deal out of saying goodbye in his emails to Jordan."
Spencer turned to the computer and quickly pulled up their messages, "None of its shorthand."
"That's odd."
Spencer focused his gaze on their conversations, "He never got a chance to say good bye to his mother, abandonment is his biggest fear." He explained.
"That's why he chose Jordan, he thinks she'll never leave him."
Fuck. Isabelle couldn't help but stare into Spencer's doe eyes, though he had reminded her multiple times that he didn't hate her for leaving, she hated her self for leaving.
The guilt and embarrassment followed her every where she went, it would dare to give her a moment of peace.
Morgan's voice pulled Isabelle from her thought's, "Mhm." Morgan agreed, "We gotta go tell Hotch."
୨୧
"Owen's mother's death left him with severe issues of abandonment." Spencer stated as the trio approached Hotch.
"If we can get Jordan away from him, we'll save her, and take away his reason to live." Spencer said the last few words hesitantly.
"He'll take his own life." Hotch responded, "It's the only way we can save Jordan." Emily added.
Isabelle bit her lip, "How can we get her to leave him?"
Emily sighed, "He's keeping Jordan in the dark, she doesn't know about the murders."
"You want to tell her?"
"If we can, we could possibly get her to turn herself in."
"But even if we could talk to her, the only person she trusts is Owen."
"There's one other person, she might be able to get a message to Jordan." Emily added.
୨୧
Isa slowly took a sip of her coffee and grimaced, the team had recruited Jordan's best friend to message her, it was working until it was obvious Owen somehow got a hold of the phone.
"Cruz! Come on!" She heard Hotch shout and turned around, seeing him putting on his bullet proof vest.
"What happened?" "Jordan just came in, Owen's at a ranch." He replied and tossed her a vest.
The suv speed down the house's road, kicking up dirt behind it.
She hopped out of the suv, Spencer followed behind her.
"Shit, Owen's not here." They heard Morgan call, they both holstered their guns and searched the house.
"I found a note." The sheriff called, it read 'I'm going to return my mom's necklace.'
"He's not going home, the necklace isn't there, where's his mother buried?" Hotch questioned.
Spencer swiftly ripped the velcro on his vest off, "Reid, what are you doing?" Hotch asked.
He ran his hands through his hair, "He's gonna force us to kill him, I don't need to be a part of that, you don't need me."
Hotch nodded slightly, "Meet us at the station."
୨୧
Hotch, Rossi, Morgan and Isabelle pulled up to the cemetery.
They searched it and waited for Owen, Isabelle crouched down to Owen's mother's grave 'Hope Savage, Mother, Wife.'
"Something's wrong." Hotch muttered.
"He had a head start, if he was coming here, he'd be here already." Rossi offered.
Isabelle looked toward the three men, "He said he wanted to say good bye, give her back the necklace."
Hotch gave her a look, "Yeah, so?", "He wasn't talking about his mother- he was talking about Jordan."
As if on cue Hotch's phone rang, "Yeah?"
"Ok, we're on our way." Hotch sighed, "Reid knew."
୨୧
The suv swerved around the corner causing Morgan and Isabelle to jolt to the left.
Outside the police station stood Spencer, his hands raised, in front of him, Owen- his hair was combed and he held an assault rifle.
The three men jumped out of the suv and crouched behind it, "Isabelle, what are you doing?" Morgan questioned.
Isabelle felt frozen, she got out of the suv- a horrified look on her face.
She could hear Spencer attempting to reason with Owen, "I know the only reason you killed Rod Norris and Kyle Borden was to protect Jordan."
Owen stared at him, tears filled his eyes.
"I know the harder you tried, the worse it got, and it felt like everybody just stood there watching you suffer, not a single person even tried to help."
"They didn't." Owen confirmed.
"And I know your biggest fear is Jordan leaving you, just like your mother when she died." He said, his head tilted downward.
Spencer looked behind him, his eyes meeting Isabelle's, "Look, I know you want to escape and forget- believe me when I say I know exactly how that feels."
"But you know what? You don't have to die."
Owen shook his head, "No, No. I'm already dead.”
"No you're not, If you die, you're gonna leave Jordan and you'd never do that to her, right?"
"Mhm" Owen responded, "I wanna see her- you bring her out here."
"I'm sorry but I can't do that, I can't bring her outside, but if you put the gun down, I swear to god, I'll take you to her."
"I promise nobody will hurt you, you'll get to say good bye to her- ok and that's all you want... right?" Spencer asked, his voice breaking.
Owen leaned down, setting the rifle down, Spencer lead him to the front of the police station.
Emily hand cuffed him and took him inside, "Reid! What the fuck man!" Morgan yelled.
"It was fine, I had it handled." Spencer reasoned.
Isabelle and Spencer's eyes meet, both of them on the verge of tears.
Isabelle ran to Spencer and pulled him into a tight hug, practically knocking him over.
"It's okay." He said, running his hand through her hair.
Isabelle pulled back, "It's not! I swear to fucking god if you pull some bull shit like that again I'll kill you!" She threatened before yanking him back into a hug.
"I'm sorry." He apologized, "I thought I was gonna lose you, you scared me so fucking bad." She cried, her voice muffled from being against his chest.

"Are you having a good time?"
The acidity of that statement. The rancidness. A thinly veiled message of: "I hope you are suffering, I hope you cannot live without me, suffer even more until you break and come back here to be at my mercy." As if I was ever free to begin with. Even now, when I am physically separated from her, she finds ways to torment me. And even when she is doing nothing, my mind takes up the mantle and does all the hard work for her. I keep wasting most of my days trying, desperately trying to gather some semblance of a will to live. My days go into nothing. I try to feel happiness and I can see it, reaching for me, but it never reaches. Like a detector only noticing a neutrino, acknowledging that it's there, but never fully capturing it. It's the worth thing ever. Those few rare moments of happiness I had from the media I loved are now unreachable to me.
All I have is this constant pain, and struggle, and suffering.
I've lost almost everything in my life. First I've lost my best friend, who molded me into the person who has as many friends as I do now. Somebody who actually strives to connect to other people. Lost to a pointless ultimatum. I've lost my family to death. I've lost my most important work and a diary that documented the process of me finding my own self to a bullshit error caused by an aging device. I have no proof of my growth, no proof of who I once was, the only thing I have now is this person who cried every single fucking day and lives in pain day and night.
Oh, and also an alcoholic bastard to deal with. Who keeps giving me her own work because... why? She's too lazy? She doesn't want to help herself no matter how many times I've tried talking her into it? Every answer is worse than the last. My departure was meant to be a punishment for her actions, and yet, here I am, being punished for them instead.
I really, really only wish that I could just die already.
#''are you having a good time?'' i am sobbing like i never had before while i'm writing this letter‚ you fucking monster.#logs#black blank blah-blah-blah#anyway. sorry you had to see that. lol.#ost: Sorry about my face - сломанная лента

11, 31, 39, 40? :-)
Thanks!!
11) I am indeed listening to music, specifically Placebo playing Without You I'm Nothing with David Bowie (live at Irving Plaza 29/3/99), which is often the case
31) In the 9th century, the Banū Mūsā brothers at the House of Wisdom in Baghdad invented (among many other things) a steam-based automatic flute, the world's first programmable machine; there's a good chance neutrinos are their own antiparticle; nobody knows for sure where the word London comes from.
39) The only sport I've ever seriously followed is Formula 1, have done all my life (except for a brief spell in the mid-2000s and the late 2010s when I didn't have time). I guess some martial arts could count as sport too and that's a big interest as well but not really in the sport sense, I'm interested in the systems themselves rather than competition or whatever.
40) Favourite memory is hard, the first time I ever saw The Libertines live is a strong contender (truly never believed I would, not until they actually reached the stage), seeing Paul Weller play That's Entertainment with the whole of Wembley Stadium singing along was really special, many more gig moments that I could go on to list but not to get repetitive I'm also fond of the first afternoon I spent in my third-year student flat away from my parents' house, just the little pleasant act of being able to go out as needed and buying real Marmite instead of the own-brand stuff (which is not as strong no matter what my parents claim) and returning to find someone's van outside my window blasting A Message To You Rudy at room-shaking volume.

TMNT: Utrom Empire (IDW) #3
Read Date: May 31, 2023 Cover Date: March 2014 ● Writer: Paul Allor ● Art: Andy Kuhn ● Colorist: Bill Crabtree ● Letterer: Shawn Lee ● Editor: Bobby Curnow ●
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read: ● Krang is actually a decent leader ● (and it seems we have Krang to thank for bringing Daredevil into existence! #IYKYK ) ● feels? for Krang?!
● o_o ● 👏👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: Years ago, on Planet Utrominon, a messagenger delivers a statement from General Krang to Councilor Lorqa. A large holographic Krang tells Lorqa and his team of researchers living in an underground bunker that their mission will soon be over. They will soon depart for Planet Earth, as the Utroms have ultimately lost the war against the rebels lead by the Triceratons. Before joining them in the emergency bunker, Krang stops to see his father, Emperor Quanin, who thinks he came to gloat. Krang reveals to his father his secret plan enacted years ago. Krang brought together the leading scientists to develop new ooze technologies that would keep them alive in stasis, using what little ooze still exists. Krang explains that he had to keep it a secret from Quanin, because he would have ruined it like his father had ruined their empire. Krang tells him that he will bring the scientists through an inter-dimensional portal to a piece of land on Planet Earth called Burnow Island. Quanin brings up Krang's failure during his last trip to Earth (see Secret History of the Foot Clan Part ). As bombs begin to be dropped on the compound, Krang begs his father to accompany him but Quanin is too stubborn. Krang sees that his father is not worth the effort and departs.
On Burnow Island, present day, Baxter Stockman destroys the evidence of his flyborg in an incinerator. In a fit of rage, Stockman trashes his laboratory, fed up with being a prisoner on Krang's island.
Elsewhere on the island, the power is restored. Fugitoid debates whether or not to go forward with the next step of his plan, or to flee and destroy his body, so that his knowledge cannot be used to aid Krang in his efforts against the Neutrinos or others. He ponders his predicament, caught between the misguided ambition of Krang and the aggressive self-interest of Stockman. Fugitoid decides he cannot leave fate to those two and uses the computer to send out a message. Before the Fugitoid is sure the message was sent he is apprehended by a stone soldier.
Krang manages to make it back to the stasis room where the Utroms' vials are being refilled with ooze. He orders all of the scientists to get out. Krang thinks back to many years ago, when he carried out his plan to put the few surviving Utroms into hibernation. Lorqa was unsure that they had developed the technology sufficiently, but Krang told him how bad things were on the surface. Lorqa wishes that Quanin had came with them, but Krang does not. He blames the Utrom Empire's demise on his father. Lorqa and the other Utroms are put into vials with ooze and Krang oversees their transport through a portal to Burnow Island, to the room where Krang currently is. He vows to complete his plan soon.
In Northampton, Donnie continues reading Fugitoid's work journal. Donnie is realizing what a catastrophic threat the Technodrome poses and wondering how he and his family can possibly hope to neutralize it. Raph tells him that they'll handle it the same they handle everything else: make a plan, and then fight.
Back on Burnow Island, Stockman works on another one of his flyborgs when another scientist asks if they will be resuming work on the Fugitoid project soon. Stockman is surprised to learn that Fugitoid is back but glad nonetheless, as the flyborg he's currently working on he intends to use to destroy Fugitoid. Unfortunately when he arrives in the lab he sees that Krang is already there. The Fugitoid is telling Krang all about how Stockman helped him get the ooze flowing again after the power system "malfunctioned". Stockman hurriedly agrees and then leaves, afterwards cursing the fact that he is now indebted to the Fugitoid. Fugitoid continues talking to Krang. He tells Krang that he's just tired of fighting, that all he wants to do now is survive. Krang is quiet for a moment and Fugitoid worries that his ploy to be allowed to walk around the compound freely will fail. Fortunately, Krang can sympathize with the desire for survival.
The Turtles are on their way back to New York City following the Foot finding them hiding out in Northampton (see Northampton Part Three and Four). Donnie receives a message on his tablet from the Fugitoid. It contains plans for an inter-dimensional transporter, which would allow the Turtles to get to Burnow Island to fight Krang. The message also says that Fugitoid is contacting other parties with this information, as the more allies they have the likelier they will be to defeat Krang.
In one of the Foot Clan's bases, Karai receives the same message from the Fugitoid and shows it to the Shredder.

Rust Compiler Performance Triage
A light week for triage. The biggest of the three regressions has a (hopeful) fix up already. The second biggest is a regression we are accepting for sake of correctness of incremental-compilation. The third regression is small and may well be removed as the type system internals are improved. max-rss seems stable.
Triage done by @pnkfelix. Revision range: 57d3c58e..96ddd32c
3 Regressions, 4 Improvements, 3 Mixed; 2 of them in rollups 40 artifact comparisons made in total

Neutrino messaging
Whether this will go down in history alongside Alexander Graham Bell's first message, “Mr Watson, come here, I want to see you,” remains to be seen. Research that produced the world’s first message sent using tiny neutrino particles a project led in part by North Carolina State University engineers has been named among Physics World magazines top 10 breakthroughs for 2012. Because the Neutrino kernel messaging services copy a message directly from the address space of one thread to another without intermediate buffering, the message-delivery performance approaches the memory bandwidth of the underlying hardware. By modulating the pulses of protons the group was able to send a message in binary that, when translated, read “neutrino”. They are detected roughly 1km away by researchers who, in their day jobs, work on a neutrino collaboration called MINERvA. The neutrinos themselves are created by smashing bunches of protons into a target made of graphite. A pulse of neutrinos (small, elusive subatomic particles with no electric charge) corresponds to the digit “1” while no pulse corresponds to “0”. Naturally, their neutrinophone is digital. Born from violent astrophysical events like exploding stars and. To answer such naysayers a group of physicists at Fermilab have just submitted a paper to Modern Physics Letters A in which they describe how they have built themselves a neutrino-powered telephone. What is a NeutrinoAnd Why Do They Matter Neutrinos are teeny, tiny, nearly massless particles that travel at near lightspeeds. text messaging, commercial location and deployable wireless communications. But some people question its practical usefulness. Off-Board Navigation Service on QNX Neutrino Realtime Operating System. Eisenberg, meanwhile, contends with tummy trouble, for Vincent’s burrowing sets off rounds of doubtless symbolic intestinal distress.PARTICLE physics is all very well for addressing trivial matters like “why are we here?” (see article). Salma Hayek, as the ruthless CEO the pair aim to undercut, has her lustrous locks dipped in grey paint and offset with NHS specs. Skarsgård wasn’t alone in spending long hours in hair and makeup puzzling over this script. This is related to the question of how neutrinos can oscillate though the lepton flavors have differing masses (also examined in 'Neutrino Oscillations and Conservation of Momentum'). To this end, he has recruited his nervy coder cousin Anton, played – in the first of many bizarre choices here – by Alexander Skarsgård beneath a bald pate. Jesse Eisenberg plays Vincent, an ambitious day trader pumping his resources into digging a tunnel between Kansas and New York, a scheme designed to tap stock market data a millisecond faster, and thus turn him a sizeable profit. The portal can access those files and use them to remember the users data, such as their chosen settings (screen view, interface language, etc.), or their login data. It’s the kind of verbose corporate parable David Mamet would sit down to write after a heavy night on the sauce. strings of text saved by a browser on the users device. Because their messaging is so simple, and they make the purchasing. Today (via Emanuel Derman’s twitter feed), I learn of a promising new source of funding. Yet Canadian writer-director Kim Nguyen’s sketchy question mark of a film proves so left-field it risks seeming esoteric or – with its technical dialogue on the matter of “neutrino messaging” – openly baffling. Every second, about 30 trillion neutrinos pass through your brain without impacting. Recently US plans for the LBNE next-generation neutrino experiment have run into trouble finding room in projected HEP budgets. with a multi-messaging astronomy project that combines traditional astronomy with. Hi, Megamind! Just curious, did you guys see "Encanto" yet? If so, did you like it?
Ollo!
I apologize for taking so long to respond... Defender duties, you know.
Now onwards to answering your question! (Which I very much appreciate, by the way!) At the time I originally received this message, I had not seen Encanto yet. (Again with the Defender duties.) But now I have. Because it's my little girl's current favorite movie. Meaning that, even though we don't let her watch much television, whenever she does, it's always this film.
Every. Single. Time.
By now, I practically know it by heart.
It could be worse, however, because it at least does have a relatively interesting plot for an animated movie. (Nothing compared to my own film, you understand, but not everything can be that fantastic.) Anyway, I certainly can identify with some of the elements.
Before I talk about those, however, this is an Official Announcement from your Favorite Defender! I am about to describe some details about this film, so if anyone reading this hasn't seen it, proceed at your own risk! You've been warned, Metrocity! Hahaha!
(And NO, if you ignore that caution and read past this point, I will not whack you with the forget me stick just so that you can see the movie without knowing what's about to happen! Honestly! It's your own fault!)
It's not easy being the only one--or even one of a few--without special powers. Trust me, I know. Most superheroes have some sort of unusual in-born ability. Or, you know, one caused by a lab freak accident. Or a military experiment. Or a strange asteroid that in retrospect probably should have been left alone. Like the case of Professor Electron. I feel sort of sorry for that guy; you can't even shake his hand without getting zapped. It makes him pretty unpopular at parties. But then he was the one who, on a dare from a fellow graduate research assistant, willingly licked an unclassified space rock interacting at an abnormally high rate with neutrinos, so...
That's not important right now.
My point is that I get it. I feel for Mirabel. Both because of the lack of ability and because she finds the courage to try to save the day anyway. Well, that and because I know too well what it's like to be sidelined while someone with special abilities is praised.
Honestly, though, the song Surface Pressure hit home pretty hard, too. We're talking bismuth bowling ball levels of heavy-hitting here. It gave me unexpected insight into what my former nemesis, Metro Man, must have been feeling before he retired. I actually empathized with the guy even if he did frame me for his murder. But don't tell him I said that.
So, yes, I find the movie Encanto to be unexpectedly enjoyable. The fact that watching it usually means I have my wife snuggled up to my side and my baby girl in my lap helps a lot.

"The Grybyx"
Season 3, Episode 41
First US Airdate: December 14, 1989 First BBC UK broadcast: April 3, 1992
The Turtles and Shredder fight over a pet monster that arrives from Dimension X.
We edge closer to the end of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles season three with "The Grybyx". Michael Reaves again is credited as writer here, following on from his work on "The Making of Metalhead".
We don’t waste much time getting into things today, as a competitive game of Pong (in 1989?) between Donatello and Michaelangelo is interrupted by an urgent message from April. She’s reporting alongside Vernon and Stan on a blood red portal that’s opened above the city. The Turtles are soon on the scene and watch as a furry creature emerges from the dimensional rift; after the hole closes up, they pursue the creature to the harbour, with April in her news van not far behind.
The Turtles corner the creature, which turns their weapons against them, but eventually find it to be friendly and figure it was just playing with them. Leonardo insists they should look after it until they can return it to its own dimension, but April remains wary.
In the Technodrome, Krang has picked up on the arrival of the creature and its psycho-kinetic abilities. He explains it’s a grybyx, which people in Dimension X keep as pets. If they can capture it, they could use its powers to raise the Technodrome to the surface.
The Turtles and April are playing with the grybyx in the lair when news breaks of a second portal opening over the city. Before they can use it to return the creature to its home, it closes again. Michaelangelo watches events unfold on TV and is convinced something emerged from the rift prior to its closure, and so the Turtles head off to investigate, leaving the grybyx with April and Splinter.
Surveying the area using the Turtle Blimp, the team regrettably encounter the Neutrinos, who explain the grybyx is Kala’s pet. They warn the Turtles that if it should eat earth food, the consequences could be disastrous. Leonardo warns April of this via Turtlecom, but it’s too late – she's already served up a pizza that causes the creature to expand into a huge, snarling monster.
After the first break, the grybyx uses its powers to levitate April and Splinter. Via Turtlecom, Kala tells April to get the creature wet; Splinter smashes a nearby pipe to soak the monster, returning it to its normal size. Before April and Splinter can find their bearings, the grybyx escapes the lair.
Shredder, Rocksteady, Bebop and some Foot Soldiers pursue the grybyx through the sewers. In pursuit as well are the Turtles and Neutrinos, and the two groups soon end up engaging in battle. The prospect of a decent fight sequence between Leonardo and Shredder is quickly overshadowed by the grybyx using its powers to mess around with a laser rifle, sending the bad guys into retreat.
Using a panel from the transport module, Shredder deflects the blasts from the rifle to hit the grybyx, rendering it unconscious. Unable to escape in the module due to it being damaged in the fight, Shredder and his men instead use a gas bomb to escape.
Krang instructs Shredder on how to drain the grybyx’s energy, and so the bad guys head to a power facility. Their first attempt to begin the transfer fails when the systems overload, and so Shredder heads off to get replacement components, leaving the creature in the care of Rocksteady and Bebop.
Showing some compassion for the grybyx, Rocksteady snatches a burger out of Bebop’s hand and feeds it to the creature. It again grows in size, even more so than the last time, and chases the two hench-mutants into the street, destroying the front of the power plant in the process.
The Turtles and Neutrinos continue their pursuit of the grybyx, while Rocksteady and Bebop run into Shredder as he walks out of an electronics store, damaging the circuit he just stole (or possibly just purchased with money like a normal person). The bad guys are chased by the monster, who tosses them around a nearby playground before hurling Shredder into an ice cream van.
After an off-hand remark from Raphael about how they’re headed for the big aquarium in the sky, Donatello has an idea. He uses a nearby fire hydrant to get the grybyx wet, returning it to its normal size once more. This hardly seems like a huge revelation, of course you need to get it wet, that’s been established!
Later, the Turtles say goodbye to the Neutrinos, but they can’t leave until we get yet another attempt to generate some romantic chemistry between Michaelangelo and Kala. It doesn’t work, it has never worked.
"The Grybyx" is a by-the-numbers nod to Gremlins. On paper, that isn’t necessarily a bad idea; plenty of episodes this season have been movie take-offs, and at least some of them have worked. But here it rarely becomes fun or engaging; Bebop and Rocksteady get a few decent one-liners as the story progresses, but it all feels routine, and the proceedings are bogged down by the Neutrinos yet again. One small consolation is that we’ll only have to endure this annoying trio three more times, twice in season four and a final time in season seven.
NEXT TIME: Another annoying being from another dimension makes his debut in “Mister Ogg Goes to Town”!

yoohooo~ i have not gotten over the end of hq and it hurts to look at my drafts (;-;) but i have not done a hq!bf piece in aaaaaages so here is kuroo, because i love him and because he looks fucking hot in business wear this is so unfair so so unfair
bf!kuroo
* god he is so snarky
* no seriously he's teasing u all the damn time why did u sign up for this
* likes to ruffle your hair when he is bored.
* snuggles? snuggles. he is not averse
* likes to bury his face in your skin and just... rub like a kitten which part of your skin??? hehehhehe ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
* if you're shorter than him he will like to hug u from behind and rest his chin in your head and just talk to you in that position until you shake him off
* he will snatch away your phone when you aren't paying attention. side effect of being kenma's best friend
* is not alive in the mornings until he gets a cup of coffee
* he does like coffee dates. he likes the chemistry behind the coffee. did you know that black coffee oxidises and turns sour if you leave it out too long? now u do
* this geek istg is just so so cute with his periodic table shirt and cup. will send u nerdy love messages like "do you have 11 protons? cos you're sodium fine"
* "you must be a compound of beryllium and barium... cos you're a total BaBe."
* "are you a carbon sample? because i want to date u"
* and u have to smack him cos like idiot! we are already dating stop it with the nerdy pick up lines you actually like it. don't lie
* well then he shifts to more suggestive types of pick up lines... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
* "billions of neutrinos penetrate you every second... mind if i join in"
* "you know it's not the length of the vector that counts... it's about how you apply the force"
* "how about we make like the change of base law, with you on the bottom and me on top?"
* resist the urge to smack him. RESIST
* he is so cute when he is focused on stuff like that. i bet he watches GATTACA. i bet he MAKES u watch GATTACA with him lmao holy shit btw i love gattaca masterpiece of sci-fi with actually good science
* when you hang out with bokuto he is 100% extra. kenma avoids them at all costs, so you have a choice of joining them or just standing at the side with akaashi.
* rlly up to u but either way u are impressed at how akaashi is so unfazed by their antics
* anyway if you choose not to join them u can choose between joining kenma (if he is there) and akaashi. one will teach you where to hide and one will teach you how to rein them in
* kuroo rarely gets flustered so no matter how you try to one up him he will get back at you worse so prepare for a lot of embarrassment. ask akaashi for tips on how to manage
* will let you come to his matches. will give u a little thumbs up when they win
* secretly likes it when you cheer for him. but no he needs to FOCUS
* not surprisingly he enjoys debate. will discuss (argue?) about anything under the sun. he is actually quite a reflective person and thinks deeply about issues and current affairs.
* he's not particularly touchy but he does like it when u hold his waist and snuggle in.
* he's pretty calm when he is studying or just hanging around friends and all, being the more level headed one out of the Super Extra Captain Squad (headed by bokuto and includes oikawa and terushima, daichi and ushijima did not make the cut cos they r too....... they r not extra)
* so it's nice to lean on his shoulder while he is reading or something. he will shift so you're more comfortable. sneak an arm around your waist. turn his head to kiss your temple and turn back to his book with a soft smile. you live for the moments like these
* when you're down he will turn up with your fav flowers and sweets
* when you're sick he comes with medication but also easy to eat things like pudding or soup
* "you didn't take care of yourself properly so now lemme show u how it's done"
* fav place to kiss you: temple, forehead
* fav place to be kissed: lips pls. with tongue
* smart boy with bad boy vibes, omg i am in love

SUNDOWN DISTRESS
Mayday, Mayday, Mayday. All circum-Saturn stations monitoring GUARD, this is New Pacific Arcology, declaring a SUNDOWN loss of habitability event. We have 2.9 million souls aboard. We repeat, Titan is no longer safe for human life.
We are experiencing massive tidal forces of unknown origin. Our physics cluster detects mass growl, phaeton strikes, and sterile neutrino scattering. Possible origins include a compact dark matter object, a lambda-field influence, or a polarized gravity device.
Satellite lidar confirms a tidal bulge of 40 meters—400, repeat, 400 percent of ordinary tidal deformation and growing. We anticipate massive cryoseismic activity as the tidal effect recedes. Total crustal reflex will trigger a multiple hypocenter icequake swarm. Surface effects catastrophic.
We are attempting to decouple tidal anchors and loosen the arcology substructure. Blue-water vessels are now transporting frozen citizens to lifters. We require all available ships with interplanetary capability to receive refugees. Contact New Pacific Traffic Control on approach.
Be advised that we have no contact with any circum-Saturn ships or stations, and we are transmitting in the blind.
This message will now repeat.
Mayday, Mayday, Mayday. All circum-Saturn stations monitoring GUARD, this is New Pacific Arcology, declaring a SUNDOWN loss of habitability event. We have 2.9 million souls aboard. We repeat, Titan is no longer safe for human life.

Five Reasons You Wouldn’t Want to Live Near a Black Hole
Black holes are mystifying yet terrifying cosmic phenomena. Unfortunately, people have a lot of ideas about them that are more science fiction than science. Black holes are not cosmic vacuum cleaners, sucking up anything and everything nearby. But there are a few ways Hollywood has vastly underestimated how absolutely horrid black holes really are.
Black holes are superdense objects with a gravitational pull so strong that not even light can escape them. Scientists have overwhelming evidence for two types of black holes, stellar and supermassive, and see hints of an in-between size that’s more elusive. A black hole’s type depends on its mass (a stellar black hole is five to 30 times the mass of the Sun, while a supermassive black hole is 100,000 to billions of times the mass of the Sun), and can determine where we’re most likely to find them and how they formed.
Let's focus on supermassive black holes for now, shall we? Supermassive black holes exist in the centers of most large galaxies. Some examples are Sagittarius A* (that’s pronounced “A-star”) at the center of our Milky Way and the black hole at the center of galaxy Messier 87, which became famous earlier this year when the Event Horizon Telescope released an image of it. As the name suggests, these black holes are — well — supermassive. Why are they so enormous? Scientists suspect it has something to do with their locations in the centers of galaxies. With so many stars and lots of gas there, they can grow large rapidly (astronomically speaking).
You may have seen a portrayal of planets around supermassive black holes in the movies. But what would the conditions on those worlds actually look like? What kinds of problems might you face?
1. 100% chance for cosmic winds
“Space weather” describes the changing conditions in space caused by stellar activity. Solar eruptions produce intense radiation and clouds of charged particles that sweep through our planetary system and can affect technology we rely on, damaging satellites and even causing electrical blackouts. Thankfully, Earth’s atmosphere and magnetic field protect us from most of the storms produced by the Sun.
Now, space weather near a black hole would be interesting if the black hole is consuming matter. It could be millions — perhaps even billions — of times stronger than the Sun’s, depending on how close the planet is. Even though black holes don’t emit light themselves, their surroundings can be very bright and hot. Accretion disks — swirling clouds of matter falling toward black holes — emit huge amounts of radiation and particles and form incredible magnetic fields. In them, you’d also have to worry about debris traveling at nearly the speed of light, slamming into your planet. It’d be hard to avoid getting hit by anything coming at you that fast!
2. Hello? Can you still hear us?
We launched the Parker Solar Probe to learn more about the Sun. If you lived on a world around a supermassive black hole, you'd probably want to study it too. But it would be a lot more challenging!
You’d have to launch satellites that could withstand the extreme space weather. And then there would be major communication issues — a time-delay in messages sent between the spacecraft and your planet.
On Earth we experience time gaps when talking to missions on Mars. It takes up to 22 minutes to hear back from them. Around a black hole, that effect would be much more extreme. Objects closer to the black hole would experience time differently, making things seem slower than they actually are. That means the delay in communications with a satellite launched toward a black hole would become longer and longer as it got closer and closer. By the time you hear back from your satellite, it might be gone!
3. Can someone turn off the lights?
Supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies typically have a lot of nearby stars. In fact, if you were to live on a planet near the center of the Milky Way, there would be so many stars you could read at night without using electricity.
That sounds kind of cool, right? Maybe — unless your planet is actually orbiting the supermassive black hole. Being that close, the light from all those stars would be concentrated and amplified due to the extreme gravity around the black hole, making the light stronger and even causing scary beams of strong radiation. You would want to have a bucket of sunscreen ready to apply often — or simply never leave your home.
4. Did someone leave the oven on?
And not only would it be really bright, it would also be really toasty, thanks to radioactive heating! Those stars hanging around the black hole emit not just light but ghostly particles called neutrinos— speedy, tiny particles that weigh almost nothing and rarely interact with anything. While neutrinos coming from our Sun aren't enough to harm us, the volume that would be coming from the cluster of stars near a black hole would be enough to radioactively heat up whatever they slam into.
The planet would absorb neutrinos, which would, in turn, warm up the core of the planet eventually making it unbearably hot. It would be like living in a nuclear reactor. At least you’d be warm and could toss your winter coats?
5. You are what you eat?
If your planet got too close to a black hole, you’d likely face a gruesome fate. The forces from the black hole's gravity stretch matter, essentially turning it into a noodle. We call this spaghettification. (Beware the cosmic pasta-making machine?) Imagine yourself falling feet-first toward a black hole. Spaghettification happens because the gravity at your feet is sooooo much stronger than that at your head that you start to stretch out!
Maybe you wish you could simply drift around a black hole in a spacecraft and enjoy the view, or travel through one like science fiction depicts. Sadly, even if we had the means to get close to a black hole, it clearly wouldn’t be that simple or even very enjoyable.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (IDW) #18: Krang War - part 2
Read Date: October 12, 2022 Cover Date: January 2013 ● Writer: Kevin Eastman ◦ Tom Waltz ● Art: Ben Bates ● Colorist: Ronda Pattison ● Letterer: Shawn Lee ● Editor: Bobby Curnow ●
Synopsis: The Turtles have been teleported back with the Neutrino commandos to the NRF command center, which is under attack. The Neutrinos immediately begin firing back against Krang's troops, but the Turtles demand some answers first. The Neutrinos tell them they'll get all the information they want but first they have to make sure they survive Krang's attack. Working together, the Neutrinos and the Turtles defeat Krang's troops and get to safety.
April and Casey head back to the Turtles' home to tell Splinter what happened. Splinter loses his cool thinking that he may have lost his sons again, but regains his composure, knowing his sons are well-trained and can handle themselves. He, April and Casey decide to keep trying to figure things out and make plan to infiltrate Stockgen.
The Turtles and the Neutrinos encounter more stone soldiers, this time trying to kidnap Princess Trib. Michelangelo manages to rescue her, but King Zenter and Queen Gizzla are taken by Krang's troops.
Casey waits in April's van while April heads into Stockgen at night. Once inside she manages to smoothtalk her way into convincing Lindsey, one of the scientists working with the mutagen, that she's also on the project, and tries to find out where Chet is. Lindsey says she isn't sure, but says he may have been called by Krang to Burnow Island. Karai, who is spying from outside, learns this as well.
Princess Trib thanks the Turtles for aiding the Neutrinos and rescuing her, and the Turtles are brought up to speed on the situation with the Neutrinos, Krang and the Fugitoid. They came through the interdimensional portal to Dimension X, home of Planet Neutrino and the late Planet Utrominon, from where Krang, and his father Quanin before him have been attempting to conquer the entire dimension. Chet, revealing his true form as the Fugitoid, explains that he was once a Neutrino scientist, conscripted into working for Krang. He warned the Utroms that they were using their primordial ooze at an unsustainable rate, but they did not listen, thus dooming their entire civilization. Quanin and the majority of the Utroms perished, but a few who heeded Honeycutt's warning managed to travel to Burnow Island where they remain in cryostasis in ooze. That is when Krang made the decision to create a new Utrominon and restore his species to glory, enlisting Honeycutt to begin work on the Technodrome, a device that would be used to terraform Planet Earth. Fortunately the NRF rescued Professor Honecutt before it was completed, although this lead to Krang's current full-scale assault against Planet Neutrino, which forced Honeycutt to flee to Earth and disguise himself as Chet. Even as Chet, he worked to thwart Krang's efforts, getting a job a Stockgen to have access to knowledge of what was going on. Princess Trib tells Honeycutt that the NRF had nearly finished a weapon designed to neutralize Krang's forces. At that moment, Krang appears on the computer monitors to deliver a message: bring him the Fugitoid, or he will kill each and every Neutrino, starting with the King and Queen.
