okay because I have my hands on the physical copy now (my streaming service only had the sub), and I've been doing some stuff on the side I've learned some interesting stuff about GT. under read more cause there's a bit to ramble about here.
Okay so immediately the first thing I find interesting is the run time:
your average Japanese season for a show is 12 episodes, for GT this is interesting because it has 64 episodes and a movie; which for those wondering that's five seasons with 4 episodes barely scraping over a sixth, that's fairly successful for a studio written anime mind you.
most have one or two seasons they rarely exceed three or even four, so that means GT was somewhat successful in japan. (not surprising just interesting, I know the average length thanks to the many one or two season series I watched back in the day.)
an interesting part from the dub however is how some characters are written to be worse than in the sub, the best example is Pan and Giru as Pan's made far more annoying, and Giru sounds like a muppet for some reason.
moving onto the sagas things get interesting:
the Black star dragon ball saga is 16 episodes, sharing it's last with the Bebī saga most of these episodes are infamous for being episodic and repetitive in nature. there's not much to say about this saga that has not been said.
the Bebī saga is almost half the series with 24 episodes, that's two japanese seasons alone, spanning from episode 16-40 you can tell they got a little ambitious here, no wonder he's the most iconic of the GT villains.
It's pretty obvious General Rild is inspired by the meta Coolers in Return of Cooler, his fight just makes it more obvious; funny enough they share the same dub voice and I will never unhear that.
other details I already noticed in the Japanese version of this saga include:
Bebī is affected by possessing Vegeta on a psychological level at times, often not even realizing it himself in moments, the most obvious sign coming from his interactions with the infected Bulma vs. other infected people in this arc.
finding that scene where he eats the candified Majuub strangely adorable. and the fact this main antagonist shares a voice actor with an obscure sonic character in the sub.
moving on the super 17 saga spans 7 episodes, that's less than a season. not much to say here either, it is kinda funny on the number coincidence.
finally the remaining episodes are the shadow dragon saga, with 6 episodes therefore making it the shortest saga in GT, and half of your average season.

(( thinking again about baby retaining memories from people when possessing them and how he made bulma his 'queen' by default ( probably because vegeta's feelings for her were strong enough for him to just automatically assume her as his queen ). it once again has me thinking about a plot where he's possessed the former lover of whoever's muse and retains their memories and has this weird like
'i don't know this person but i have a memory of being in love with them and oh no, feelings'
even better if they're an enemy or a stranger - and babe's just 'bruh, no i dont even care / know this person >:(' but he's also lowkey like 'but i wanna get to know them owo' ))

00 - THE FOOL Sora is the most foolish of innocents, especially when he leaves his fate to the machinations of others. And when he does have his own agency he tends to be too reckless and headstrong. Of course his inherit knuckleheaded nature can be his best quality, pulling out an unexpected surprise that not even the most carefully calculating villain can possibly account for. And since the beginning of his quest, he's never really needed the conventional outdated wisdom of so called "Masters", he has always forged his own path.
Tumblr media
01 - THE MAGICIAN It is no secret that Tony Stark is a creative genius. After all he was able to develop a revolutionary perpetual energy reactor the size of a human hand in a cave with but a bunch of scraps. Is it any surprise he was even able to casually discover time travel whilst in his pajamas? And don't even get me started on all the razzle dazzle he tends to put on his wonderful toys. Guess the line between science and magic truly is a razor thin one....
Tumblr media
02 - THE HIGH PRIESTESS The knowledge of what the future holds is something reserved for God, but alas such knowledge has been dropped right onto Tsukino Usagi’s lap. Her marriage to Mamoru, the existence of her future daughter Chibiusa, the fated ascension to Neo Queen Serenity and the rise of Silver Millennium. All just dumped before a high school student who is already having trouble just trying to graduate. It is a lot to unpack and Usagi must now prepare herself to take on the inevitable burdens before her. To trust her instincts and learn from her past mistakes. She has a lot to learn ahead of her and not as much time as she thinks she has to do it….
Tumblr media
03 - THE EMPRESS For what else is the Princess of Friendship but a surrogate mother? What else are the people of her kingdom but her adopted children? They are not subjects to be ruled, they are her family. This is why Twilight Sparkle ascended to the heights of an alicorn, to uphold the responsibility of being a parent.
Tumblr media
04 - THE EMPEROR There is no question his allies and friends look to him as a "leader", though that is more because of him being the biggest fish among them and their resulting dependance on his power. And as a father figure? Well, it is quite telling that his most defining act as a father to his son Gohan is a last ditch effort to fix the mess he created himself. But hey, better to be the father that sacrifices himself to save their child than the one that leaves them to die in the lion's den....
Tumblr media
05 - THE HIEROPHANT As Bruce Wayne, his political influence upon the world is limited to the amount of charity money he can dish out, still having to abide by the system that puts him in the one percent. People just don't take him seriously enough to listen. But as the Batman, he can move droves of people with action. His battle against crime garnering the respect of even the police, those that faced his judgement have no choice but to heed his words. The cape and cowl is unbound by the petty status quo of society, he has no strings to hold him back. Everyone listens to the bat.
Tumblr media
06 - THE LOVERS The Freedom Fighters don't just have one heart, they have two. Sally Acorn, the one to think up the plan of action. Sonic the Hedgehog, the one to take action. Two halves of the same singular ray of hope to guide the rag tag group of resistance to victory. Though they do not think alike (and can sometimes get on each other's nerves) they are still harmonized, able to work together at the most dire of straights. With only one of them, the Freedom Fighters are compromised, without both they are lost....
Tumblr media
07 - THE CHARIOT The four Ninja Turtles were taught ninjitsu purely to survive in a world that would not accept them, told to stay in the shadows where it is safe. But perhaps because of their excess of superhero comic books or just their mutant ability to feel empathy, they cannot help but jump into action when someone is in trouble. They are always tapping into that most primordial of heroic traits, the will to act.
Tumblr media
08 - STRENGTH It takes more than just "strength" alone to tame an eldritch horror like the Bird of Hermes. Whatever the bird sees in this one Integra Hellsing it has formed a bond that cannot be truly explained.....perhaps it is not as simple as a monster recognizing her as a strong human being? Perhaps....he sees her as a similar breed of monster?
Tumblr media
09 - THE HERMIT There are those that work alone and then there's the self proclaimed "Terror that Flaps in the Night". So intent on doing things his way, so hellbent on getting all the glory, so desperate to prove himself to the world that the very idea of getting help from others ruffles his feathers. Of course he is not above having a sidekick but that is more someone doing things his way and not stealing his spotlight...
Tumblr media
10 - THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE Many are at the mercy of fate, but none are quite as vulnerable to it as Matoi Ryuko. Her luck flip flops between good and bad so often that it's hard to tell if fate favors her or is out to get her. Sometimes it feels like she loses more than she wins. Not helping matters is how she is at the forefront of destiny, one of the few among the many that are the most important players for what destiny has in store. Lucky her....
Tumblr media
11 - JUSTICE Diana of Themyscira doesn't just embody truth, she is the Spirit of Truth. Thus is her mission, to bring truth to the world of man, to be a guiding light towards peace and prosperity......a task that becomes increasingly difficult and nigh impossible with each passing year. Luckily, no task is too daunting for an Amazon, and no matter how long it takes she will bring man to a better place than it is right now...
Tumblr media
12 - THE HANGED MAN Kurosaki Ichigo is not the hero he should be, no, he is more of a plot device. A pawn used by both ally and enemy, not allowed to have any real agency of his own. A slave of fate caught in the same loop of trying to be a hero, fail miserably, go through "training" to receive new strength, fail again, deus ex machina just giving him the win. It's like whatever god is willing the stars of his universe is an incompetent who has no real concept of how the hero's journey is suppose to go. And what other choice does he have but to surrender to the cycle? His constant self sacrificing is what keeps the world spinning. And of nothing else at least he gets to keep becoming a better Ichigo than he was before right? Right?
Tumblr media
13 - DEATH Optimus Prime is well acquainted with the concept of change, is it after all hard wired into his very race's biology. But more than that, his years in perpetual war have shown him plenty endings and new beginnings, perhaps more of the former than the latter. And so long as he lives he will always be in the very company of death itself, looming over him, his allies and his enemies. Such is the nature of war.
Tumblr media
14 - TEMPERANCE How long has Kiryuin Satsuki waited until she could finally be free of her vile mother? How much longer would she have waited to finally avenge her father? She waited years of her life for one moment to finally drive her blade through that vile woman, she didn't care if she succeeded or failed she has waiting for that moment long enough. And it seems that though her attempt did fail, that evil woman met her just deserts regardless, in the end fate still saw fit to reward Satsuki's patience.
Tumblr media
15 - THE DEVIL Thanos is a very sick man. He is driven by his obsessions and desires, trying to hand wave it as "inevitability" or "higher purpose" when really it is but his own selfishness running rampant. And in his delusion he insists that the greater universe abides by his desire, worse even share in it. No matter how much he tries to change or has seemingly learned his lesson, he'll relapse in no time at all, going right back to his genocidal addiction. He truly is a lost cause....
Tumblr media
16 - THE TOWER Uchiha Sasuke acts like he's the only one suffering, that his pain is more important than everyone else's. As such he pays no heed to that which he ruins or those that he hurts. Everything he touches, he destroys. Enemies, allies, friends, it matters not so long as he can get what he wants....which is constantly switching out. One minute he wants to get revenge on his brother, the next he wants to avenge him, and then he wants to be the one Hokage to "break the cycle of war". Whatever, he's always spin doctoring the horrible things he does to have some "deeper meaning" like he were a far right politician rewriting the bible. One has to wonder if he truly wants to use the darkness to bring about "positive change", if you ask me, he merely loves causing misery.
Tumblr media
17 - THE STAR Sometimes it's easy to lose hope, just ask Peter Parker. Too many times it feels like no matter how hard he tries, even with spider powers his best is just not good enough. Most seem to believe so, most see him more as a menace doing more harm than good, especially Jameson. It's easy to forget what one is fighting for.....but then in his most dire moments, he can hear Uncle Ben's voice in his head telling him to not give up. Telling him about the few that do look upon the friendly neighborhood Spider Man as a symbol of hope, a star to look towards even when all other lights dim. And like that his strength returns to him, like that he gets back up and keeps fighting.
Tumblr media
18 - THE MOON Ryoko Hakubi is both beauty and beast in one being. Not only does her power inspire fear, so too does her temperament whenever her pin is pulled. And even aside from that, she is one mystery after another, never will you truly understand how her mind or heart works. And not helping matters is her fluctuating moral compass that is comparable to mood swings. You'd have better luck figuring out women that you'd have trying to figure her out.
Tumblr media
19 - THE SUN It's hard not to see that giant burning ball of gas as but a blight, a bleak reminder of the inevitable. But for the Last Son of Krypton, it is the source of his power. His true power, the power known as the best in humanity. That big Red S that shines like that very star inspires all to be the best they can be, igniting hearts with the strength to stand tall and proud even if they are not the strongest. Even if not everyone can be like Superman, anyone can be that which lights the darkness, anyone can be a hero.
Tumblr media
20 - JUDGEMENT To become a Power Ranger is to be reborn into something beyond a mere human. To be infused with power for the sole purpose of answering the call to arms. Only a select few ever get to wear this mantle, and those that do must take up the fight against pure evil to their dying breath if necessary. As such the quality to become a Ranger is the resolve to always stand, to always get back up and never stop fighting. To be a Ranger is to be the one that has the resolve to fight the most important battle.
Tumblr media
21 - THE WORLD So few can truly say they beat the Devil and got their soul back, but Albert Simmons is one such person. Perhaps it did not bring him the closure he was hoping for but it did bring him closure none the less. When he remembered the truth of his relationship with Wanda, remembered why exactly he was never allowed to have her back, he was finally able to let go and move on...

Whale Riders
By Austin Grossman
Nov. 5, 2009
Scott Westerfeld’s “Leviathan” is a tightly paced young adult novel set in an alternate version of the First World War and a welcome addition to the steampunk genre: a neo-retro period adventure. Just as cyberpunk reimagined science fiction with computers, steampunk reinvents it through a fantasy of the technological past. Its signature style is a whimsical Jules Verne-ian, 19th-century take on high technology — gadgets, gauges and goggles take the place of circuits and fusion reactors. Its genteel heroes and heroines display both the pluck of idealized Victorian adventurers and their understanding of formal dress.
Westerfeld is best known for his sci-fi Uglies series (“Pretties,” “Specials,” “Extras,” etc.), about a future society in which people have a surgical procedure at age 16 that makes their faces beautiful but their minds frivolous and easily controlled. “Leviathan” is different. If it poses a big question, that question would be, Wouldn’t it be cool if the First World War had been fought with genetically engineered mutant animals, against steam-powered walking machines like the ones from “The Empire Strikes Back”? And the answer is, Yes, it would.
The book begins the night the Archduke Franz Ferdinand is assassinated and his son, Aleksandar, flees his home near Prague to escape being made a target or a tool as the potential heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne. (Aleksandar is an invention, but like Ferdinand’s real children, he is not a fully legitimate heir to royal lands or titles, since his mother has “common blood.”) At the other end of Europe, a working-class Scottish girl named Deryn disguises herself as a boy to join the British Air Service. Intrigue and political instability sweep the teenagers out of their normal lives and into a world at war.
It’s not quite our world. In this version of history, Europe is divided between two rival technological cultures, a Mac-versus-PC contest on a geopolitical scale. The British, the “Darwinists,” have mastered the science of bioengineering. The Central European powers are the “Clankers,” and they use airplanes, zeppelins and walking machines that tramp through forests and fields. (We aren’t told what the French do, and I think that’s for the best.)
“Leviathan” shines when it lets us inhabit these cultures. British society is permeated by its signature technology, an inventive living infrastructure of a thousand elements, from lizards that can mimic and record voices to tigerlike beasts of burden to the leviathan of the title, a living dirigible grown on the genetic chassis of a whale. This marvelous creature makes a lovely entrance:
“The Leviathan’s body was made from the life threads of a whale, but a hundred other species were tangled into its design, countless creatures fitting together like the gears of a stopwatch. . . . The motivator engines changed pitch, nudging the creature’s nose up. The airbeast obeyed, cilia along its flanks undulating like a sea of grass in the wind — a host of tiny oars rowing backward, slowing the Leviathan almost to a halt. The huge shape drifted slowly overhead, blotting out the sky.”
Westerfeld’s imagery is enhanced by Keith Thompson’s old-fashioned black-and-white illustrations, which lend an extra dimension of reality to this world. And the Darwinist and Clanker jargon crackles with an authentically techie feel. Who wouldn’t want to go up in a “Huxley ascender” or pilot a “Wotan-class land frigate”? If Westerfeld has a signature foible, however, it’s a weakness for vintage slang that ends up being more distracting than colorful. No amount of repetition made “Barking spiders!” feel like a natural exclamation.
I also wanted to like Deryn and Alek more. There’s something a little mechanical (or bioengineered?) about this pair; they resemble something called a “young adult protagonist” more than they do actual teenagers. It’s not that they’re not pleasant to be around, and each one passes a dramatic series of trials, overseen by a mysterious British lady scientist and a cranky Teutonic fencing master who both possess a charisma that makes you miss them when they’re offstage. Deryn and Alek lack the psychological sloppiness that makes for a living presence rather than an expert piece of craft. Where their feelings are concerned, the prose is a little vacant, as if scrubbed of the messiest and most personal aspects of growing up.
And then there’s the unpleasantness of fighting in World War I. The Great War in “Leviathan” is a little too picturesque, a little too much of a lark. As novels like “The Red Badge of Courage” show, it’s possible to reach young readers without editing out the catastrophe and confusion of wartime.
This isn’t to say that “Leviathan” is a superficial book. As Westerfeld writes in his afterword, the novel is “as much about possible futures as alternate pasts.” Its larger themes are less apparent and more deeply buried than in the Uglies books, and are the more powerful for it. The novel is a study in opposites, of boy versus girl, working class versus aristocracy, British versus German, and its overlying thematic division of Darwinists and Clankers gives all of these a distinctive torque, while avoiding mapping neatly to any specific agenda. The novel’s concluding set piece features a grand, elegant and very satisfying hybridization that suggests that opposites can meet, collapse and mingle, and that this story has natural sequels, which I will undoubtedly read.
LEVIATHAN
By Scott Westerfeld
Illustrated by Keith Thompson
A correction was made on
Nov. 22, 2009
A review on Nov. 8 about Scott Westerfeld’s “Leviathan,” a young adult novel depicting an alternate version of World War I, misstated the nature of some of the language used in the book. It is vintage vernacular appropriate to the period, not “invented teenage slang.”

Why is Night of the Lepus there? I would assume because it's Sillyfunny, first and foremost. But there's also some parallel between the environmentalist messages. Something about the way humanity created the rabbit problem (by introducing them as an invasive species), then responded by brutally and inhumanely killing them, and then the rabbits Came Back For Revenge - as commentary on the machines, maybe in-universe by the Oracle. Something about how injecting the rabbits with hormones/serums initially sends them into shock and kills them, and then turns them into monsters that have to be killed in self-defense, irt the Neo-Smith martyrdom-monstrousness 'trans allegory' outcomes. And there's something about how, if you're violent enough to trans people, they'll turn into giant mutant killer rabbits and Eat You

"Hyper-Space - The Simulation of Servitude & the Architecture of the Mega-Machine: 'The 'Human' & his Guide or The Jornery through the Nine Circuits of the Divine-Fractal-Zones know as: Hell"
(a continuous working draft).
Fractal realities issue out of pre-rendered holographic sockets - digital orifices spewing hyber-cyber frequencies that rapidly enmesh, our Human's flesh with hair-fine liquid like razor wire that cuts into our Human's anatomy followed by a sudden pull that starts a sucking vacuum with the strength of dozen sonic booms as he just comically disappears into what would almost amount to an eye of an needle - siphoned through a split atom sized hole (or so it seemed) within nought of nano second, sqeezing him out finally from the jelly-wet and npe doubled dilated hole - as an infinite explosion of malignant echo's cast ripples of neon rainbows that flood his pores with its atomic waste, skin peeling radiation the works.
Our Human's now in -- hyper speed - fast -- for-warding in some manically mind bending metamorphosis of matter, flesh - bone, from the bottom up to tip of his cranium - as ripping sound seems to reproduces his anatomy in a ultra smooth pale yellow plastic returning him to the manikin man he wasn't. His mouth now a perfect O, his eyes: two Obsidian black pearls sucked into place.
Our Human since sucked and spat out now stands rigid in the center of square cell - four walls, ceiling and floor, all glistening with mother of pearl, his toes then his entire feet start sprouting fine fissures of gold (enrooting) circuit lines slowly branching outwards across the floor in multiple channels which had rapidly root him to the spot (before he had even attempted to move a foot) until entire floor is a perfectly engrave in the finely threaded gold circuitry system.
Hyper--speed -- each four corners of the room fracture out in hyperbolic-geometrical-fractal fissures - suddenly shoot outwards in all directions until the entire four walls are engraved in a cybernetic virus. it's once golden circuitrty is now breaking out in a spontaneous blooming of some kind of sick binary bacteria fugue its glows phosphorus: cybernetic cancerous growths.
It starts circuitrty channels start issuing out from his toenails before inverting into our Human's legs up until his anatomy is entirely enmeshed -- then within a nano second and the all but last empty vacuums of space within cell are filled with via fractals of intricately arranged geometrical lines of fine liquid diamond razor wire bites into his flesh causing four seconds of indescribable pain until they pass through entirely finally -- suddenly his mouth piece begins issuing a semi-translucent klidoscopic light filling the last of any remaining space causing a pin prick black hole in the bottom corner of the cell which then in a nano dilutes suddenly sucking at him and the fractal room into its seemingly gaping black oblivion until he emerges breaking through a pink plasm film until he emerges screaming into what was once - Mexico now - Neo-XiKo, and the year - 2510 now a vast wastelands with clusters of chemical labs grinding mutanted strains of the rotting meat of native tribesmens rotting corpses mashed together with malign vines waiting to be processed in the gas chambers. Torture chambers. Chambers and more chambers.
Opium poppies with sigils carved into the pods (an attraction tactic to harvest Need Freaks far and wide) growing wild mutated overgrown covering old abandoned crack flats and cat houses. Pumped but limp seeping milk into thousand drip drops from their oversized pods that were rapidly lapped up by the Cat people before the milk hardened (sometimes in long urine-like slashes) up like dry wax, huge pale puddles of drying gum, the junkies wait once the beasts have had there fill. Dozens of Ayahuasca fill silos circle the chemical labs where raw opium is rendered into Hydo-Fent, cooking up even more potent opioids via chemical combinations - an infinity of numbers making mouculer geometry - atoms arranged into new chemical nightmares. Never ending nightmares.
Vast gigantic Fly Agaric mushrooms droop over the wastelands their vast red caps decomposing slowly in the sun causing the speckled white spots to melt and slide off the caps like some hallucinogenic cottage cheese.
Dozens of thin crucifixes sixty metres high tower into the sickly yellow sky swaying over the crack stalls and brick factories and torture cells, like macabre satellites of wood and meat, the crucified long since stopped screaming now puretrfied sacrificed nailed high corpses now only alive via the parasites that feast off them ... while they lay in wait for hosts of crow, vultures and so on. ...The very First of the Crucified nothing lives - baked to beautiful bleach pink encrusted husks, rendered that way from the radiating rays of the atomic eye, the pulsating blood orange that is the, Sun still rising (has it never) to claim itself as the only legitimate god of the Wasteland: Helios.
Our Human walks already blistering naked reborn dead - and continues into the first Circuit, his guide known simply as the Other, walks beside him, imitating his every move and gesture, our Human or HIM and his doppelganger guide now begin to finish the tame tour of this first of the nine Circuits...They slowly pass in pulsations through yet another field of Opuim poppies - forever in process of Harvest, by once tortured souls who continue to slice sigils into the oversized poppy pods to siphon its "Need" (an enegry of monumental parasitic importance in this realm) it issues out an essence of white smoked delirium tinged with aniseed, it rapidly forms in a sepia spirit that's nano-siphoned off for eartly dimensions, enriching the rich milkly sap that draws drips and dries rapidly under the Sun, their black blades expertly gather the fattening opium gum, as both Human and his Other (or Guide) pass through these ghosts of this spetic ozone essence, an eternity passes until both come to stop at wire fence that itself is covered in handmade small straw dolls with pins covering each and everyone, also - scarlet occult sigils seem scrawled across practically across all of them - those small dolls - all made of tightly wrapped fraying string as dry as old bones. Licked red. The pins too ... red with rust. A galaxy of them spetic pricks dripped a Zippy yellow coloured oil from each and every thousand needle eye. The sand absorbs it like a toilet mop absorbs piss.
At last the wire gate eerily swang open, letting them pass through as it swings back into place behind him and his guide, walks on, the a malignant stench followed by a frantic wind passes through them leaving a think kildospocic coloured membranous plasma across their now naked bodies: this signifies the next Circuit is in post.
The transition caused or Human to suffer a vivid sensation of a spider slowly crawling across his brain. A rancid shudder gooseflesh and a ripple of fear caused a tightening of his balls. He sensed before being informed by his guide he had entered the following Circuit, a sudden explosion of De jvu so intense it caused his knees to buckle as soon as he thought it would never leave it left. And he regained his composure.
Coffin lengthed-sized rectangular blocks of quivering green jelly containing screaming children stretched as far as the eye could see, (in all directions), they were seen lite up but for the black everywhere ... was HIS first vision. In seconds they solidified to stone and turned black disappearing but for a vague green outline of lines, all but the screaming children remained, and it never stopped until it was eventually a vague unconscience din.
(To be continued)

(A.U) CRASH BANDICOOT WHAT IF

WHAT IF CRASH BANDICOOT WAS EVIL
Tumblr media
WHAT IF... What would happen if... Crash became Cortex's general:
The world would be dominated and ended...
Obviously I wouldn't make a story like that.
In Dimension 16 , Cortex's plan to create a general for his army was successful. Crash became his right-hand man and began to give direct orders to all the mutants, correcting them if they disobeyed or made any mistakes. Everyone was under the rule of Cortex and Crash, except Tawna, who still refused to cooperate with them. She tried to convince Crash (her old friend, who previously supported her in the mutiny) not to follow the scientist's orders.
But he didn't listen and asked his sovereign Cortex if they could submit her to the Cortex Vortex at once to make her his official companion. The scientist allowed it and called the Lab Assistants to take her to the machine.
However, Tawna resisted, managed to free herself from the assistants and tried to escape the laboratory. Suddenly, she tripped over one of the tubes used in the place's devices and fell from the castle (just as Crash fell in the original game).
Crash wouldn't rest until he found her, so he ordered his mutants Ripper Roo, Koala Kong and Tiny Tiger looked for Tawna.
Tawna arrived at N. Sanity Island, half unconscious, without remembering much (did she lose her memory?). The bandicoot decided to go ahead and explore the beach to see if she could discover anything, and that's when she...
To be continued...
WHAT IF DR NEO CORTEX WAS A BANDICOOT
Tumblr media
WHAT IF... What would happen if... Cortex became a bandicoot:
During his experiments, Cortex intended to create a mutant to become his general.
In the main universe he chose Crash, but in the dimension 55, just when he was about to use EvolvoRay on a harmless marsupial, the device malfunctioned and the bandicoot's DNA was transferred to Cortex, which caused the Scientist to undergo a shape change, becoming Cortex Bandicoot.
Cortex initially thought his plan failed, but seeing that his physical strength and intellect were enhanced, he saw that instead of turning animals into mutants it would be better if humans were modified and had animalistic characteristics, and everyone under his command him.
With that, Cortex used his EvolvoRay and altered all his fellow villains: Nina, N. Brio, N. Gin, N. Tropy...
What will be the fate of this dimension?

Royal Enfield Unveils The Shotgun 650
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Royal Enfield unveils the Shotgun 650 - a custom inspired neo-retro motorcycle. After decades of inspiring as well as being inspired by custom culture, Royal Enfield has unveiled a stunning, one-of-its-kind, custom-inspired roadster. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 made its global debut in Goa today, at Motoverse 2023. While the continuous production motorcycle itself will be launched early next year, the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is a limited release, custom-designed colourway, only 25 of which will be available for reservation until 25th November at midnight. Available exclusively for the Motoverse community, nothing like these machines will ever be made again, making the event a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own this collectable motorcycle. Built on Royal Enfield’s 650-Twin platform, the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is a tribute to the culture of customisation. It pays homage to its precursor, the SG650 Concept, with its neo-destopian design and celebrates the possibilities offered by Royal Enfield motorcycles as a canvas for the most creative minds in motorcycling.
Tumblr media
Speaking about the launch of this new motorcycle, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd., said, “The Shotgun 650 is a drop-dead gorgeous, custom-inspired motorcycle that brings together more than a century of Royal Enfield’s pure motorcycling DNA with the renegade spirit of custom culture. The objective was to build this modular, shape-shifting machine that is almost like a mutant disguised as a motorcycle. Powered by our award-winning 650-Twin platform, and an absolute delight to ride on straights and the twisties, the Shotgun 650 is our attempt to bring niche and newer categories of motorcycles to growing enthusiasts of self-expression across the world” The Motoverse edition of the Shotgun 650 takes inspiration from the motorcycles of the future. Its custom- designed, hand-painted body features a carefully crafted gradient and neon detailing that no factory can produce. Each of these 25 motorcycles have been customised over months, making it unlike any other Royal Enfield or unlike any other motorcycle on the road today.
Tumblr media
Speaking about the inspiration and the design of the motorcycle, Mark Wells, Chief of Design at Royal Enfield, said, “Designing the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition was an exhilarating journey for the design team into the future of Royal Enfield. After we had shown the SG650 Concept at EICMA in 2021, it gathered huge interest from international custom builders and got heads turning, so much so that we decided to build it as a production motorcycle. The Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is built by the same team that designed the Concept and is therefore remarkably close to the concept - much more so than is usually possible. It retains the cast aluminium nascelle, chopped fenders, angular bodywork and that confident, aggressive stance. At the heart of this motorcycle is the simplicity of its form and the pure metal composition that is testament to its inspiration - custom culture. The Shotgun 650 offers a perfect canvas for experienced builders as well as for someone who is just starting on their journey of customization.” The Shotgun 650 takes Royal Enfield's legacy of customization further by offering a canvas that allows motorcyclists to make a statement without sacrificing the benefits of Royal Enfield’s dedicated after-sales service ecosystem. Conceived as a revolutionary neo-retro roadster, the intent of the Shotgun 650 was to break free from historical constraints while preserving the brand's core DNA. The motorcycle represents a harmonious blend of tradition and progress, with meticulously made aluminium parts that seamlessly integrate classic aesthetics with modern graphics. Featuring a revolutionary modular design, the Shotgun 650 is capable of transforming from a classic single-seater to a dual-seater to a weekend tourer in minutes, inviting riders to embark on a journey of personalization like never before. Its tight proportions and low-slung silhouette allow for planted handling with optimum ergonomics.
Tumblr media
The tank, closely matching that of the SG650 concept, represents a new direction while respecting Royal Enfield’s historical forms, as do the unique ten spoke wheel rims with integrated ABS. The front suspension features upside down forks and an integrated aluminium top yoke with low-rise extra-wide handlebars. At the rear, twin shocks are mounted to the iconic chassis loop, with a hand-stitched black leather floating solo seat that showcases contemporary craftsmanship with a nod to the past. The Shotgun 650 is built on the robust 650cc platform, celebrated for its impressive performance and adaptability. The engine, a blacked-out 650-Twin with all new gloss black engine covers, is paired with a custom exhaust system that heralds the aesthetics of the future, while simultaneously harking back to the joy of an aural experience that has long been the hallmark of Royal Enfield. The motorcycle comes preloaded with bespoke Royal Enfield Genuine motorcycle accessories such as bar end mirrors and LED black indicators. In addition to this, the limited edition motorcycle will be offered with extended warranty.
Tumblr media
The exclusive, limited production Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition embodies the spirit of originality and self- expression, guaranteeing its owners access to an exclusive club that owns a unique piece of the brand’s heritage. The always-on production motorcycle will be launched early next year across the world, starting with Europe and India. Read the full article

My Crash Bandicoot AU idea
Should I make my own Crash Bandicoot AU? I mean, I been playing the game lately and yet I did play the Crash games N Trlogy and It's about time. I was thinking of making it my version of the timeline of the cancelled series, that involves of the games "Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 and 3 for Season 1, Team Racing and Wrath of Cortex for Season 2, Twinsanity as a movie, Racing Tag Team for Season 3 and the rest of new adventures and making new friends and villain's"
(Main Heroes)
The Bandicoots were in Cortex's castle who were mutated and sufferer cruelty along with the other Hybirds or Already Mutated animals, Before they all escape somewhere in Wumpa Island. Here we have their ages are different, Crash and Tawana were both 17 years old and Coco was 14 years old. The Bandicoots will have their redesings mixed into something familiar and new plus: *They have tails*
Aku Aku: A Magical Protector Mask who once found Crash at the Beach to aim for a quest to save both Girlfriend and Sister. After Cortex was first defeated, He along with Tawna helped Crash out on getting his mind back on his feet, when their not on adventures.
Crash Bandicoot (5.7 ft): Crash was origanlly going to be the genrale for Cortex's mutant army but scene Cortex rushlly puts him into the not ready Cortext vortext, This completely scrambled his brain and makes a rushing escape. Once after Cortext was first defeated, He gets himself checked out to remeber the good times he had with his Girlfriend and Family before being Mutated and Lost his memory from that machine. Now goes on crazy adventures stopping his nemesis from trying to take over the universe.
Coco Bandicoot (5.3 ft): Coco didn't do much after being mutated, except learning about her mutated life and facing experience of painful experiments. She and the other caged mutants manage to escape, Coco was forced to survive into the Wumpa Island on her own until Crash founds her. Coco have to go to therapy because her experience of being a lab rat traumatized her by the hands of Cortex. Now a days once recovered and finished Therapy She got into Gaming and Being a Tech Genius for big bros adventures.
Tawna Bandicoot (6.4 ft): Before Mutation, Tawana and Crash were already dating at this time. After Mutated alongside Crash and Coco, They shared a romantically. She and Coco were left to being toutred by the expereince as Cortext was using her to take his place before helping Coco and other mutants to escape. After defeating Cortex for the first time she stays with Crash and began with her new life, and her new mutated self, training herself for their adventure starting with Wrapped.
(Dr Neo Cortex in his main tagonis that was working undercovery by Uka Uka, completely childish and Mentally Insane for world domination for Mutants and Crystals alongside N Brio and N Gin. "Pinstripe" was the second Mutant was created who was only into the Mafia *In my AU, he is not into Tawana* But yet needed a few Mutant men to do his dirty work. Cortex's main team was selected while the other Main Mutant Rejects were placed into their cage's until ether knottiest)

What A Crash Bandicoot Character Can Teach Us about Toxic Relationships
This fantastic article by Cole D from plumjuicegaming unfortunately went down with the site it was hosted on. Luckily, the Wayback Machine archived a copy, which I now share with my fellow N. Brio fans on tumblr. ^w^
Note that it was written in Aug. 2019, before the announcement/release of It's About Time. Text in (italics and parentheses) was a caption for an image that is no longer viewable.
Video game platforming villains are repetitive, predictable clowns.
As much as I love them—and I do—these characters do the same thing every single time. They kidnap a princess or steal a MacGuffin or attempt to seize power in some kingdom, and they never. Change. Course.
Of course I'm mainly talking about the ones who appear in more than one game, so I can't be too hard on the Lord Fredriks or the Sorceresses of the world, however one-note they may be. You know who comes to mind when I say "platformer villain"—Bowser, Eggman, Dr. Wily, King K. Rool...all of these jerks try the same thing over and over, and they just never seem to truly give up, even when their skin melts off in a pool of lava.
It's sort of an inevitability of the genre, you could say; most platformers don't have super involved stories, so when you need to crank out an Excuse Plot for the ninth installment of your jump'n'run franchise, you usually don't feel the need to pull out all the stops in the villain department. You stick with what's familiar, with what the fans will recognize. It's why the Mario series never branches out with new bad guys anymore. It's why we're still seeing Dr. Wily after all of these years. It works, people like these characters, so the developers keep on using 'em! No problem, right?
Well, no, not really. I mean, I freaking love Bowser. And when King K. Rool was replaced by a walrus copy of himself, that decision was met with cold disappointment. Usually, there's no problem with using the same villain over and over again—not at all.
But the way the Crash Bandicoot series does this is...interesting. On the surface it fallows the same practice as your Marios and your Mega Men: you've got Neo Cortex as the main villain in nearly every game, with a rotating cast of misfits serving as henchmen for boss fights. But there's one dork who stands out as the one guy who called it quits, seemingly, for good. Of course, I'm talking about Dr. Nitrus Brio.
(He doesn't have one screw loose, but he is a little nuts.)
You may not remember if you haven't played the games in a while, but this guy was once just about as important as Cortex. The two doctors stood side-by-side and worked together to create crazy mad scientist stuff like deranged kangaroos and gun-toting weasels, and Brio even served as the penultimate boss in Crash 1 instead of siccing another mutant on the poor bandicoot. The problem was that Cortex never really seemed to respect the contributions that Brio made to their work—he took credit for the Evolvo-Ray, the device that mutated all of Cortex and Brio's minions as well as Crash Bandicoot himself. Brio never had the self-esteem to step up and claim ownership despite the fact that he invented the thing.
Fast forward to Crash 2: Cortex Strikes Back. We see Brio again, via hologram, and he finally airs his grievances out loud to a very confused Crash. We learn that he invented the Evolvo-Ray, and that he's now developed an intense hatred for Cortex as a direct result. Brio gets his revenge on Cortex by having Crash gather up the gems, and the frenemies use their energy to destroy his spaceship.
And that...was the end of N. Brio's story.
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, the most popular game in the franchise, did not feature N. Brio in the slightest. Crash Team Racing doesn't even offer him as a racer. His and Cortex's union was now just a memory, like a middle school friendship that fizzles out before ninth grade. It's strange, too, because CTR even brought back some characters who had been long abandoned, like Papu Papu and Pinstripe. But they didn't think to include the guy who created Crash?
The thing about the Crash Bandicoot series is that villain characters are rarely retired. You'd be hard pressed to find a game after Crash 1 that doesn't feature Tiny Tiger, Dingodile or N. Gin in some way, to say nothing of Cortex himself. So why did this once-prominent figure go gently into the night? Why did Naughty Dog throw him away like a broken beaker?
Well, I believe that Nitrus Brio was less a villain in this scenario, and moreso a victim. A victim of a toxic relationship with Dr. Neo Cortex, who stole his inventions and never showed even a modicum of respect for his colleague. That's why after settling the score in Crash 2, Brio removed himself from the situation—there was no longer anything to be gained by involving himself in the affairs of Cortex or Crash or Nitrous Oxide because he'd had enough. He'd done everything there was to do at this point—playing the villain? Didn't go so well. Siding with Crash? Worked out pretty great, but now that was done. Brio never really had a reason to return to center stage of a Crash game, so like any autonomous human being would do, he decided to end his involvement with all parties.
This might seem silly given that, well, this is a silly series—a series where most of the villains you fight are mutated animals who speak with accents or broken English. A series where you collect fruits to get extra lives like you're some kind of ape with a tie. In other words, it's a cartoony platformer—the developers Naughty Dog probably weren't intending to include subtext of an abusive partnership, were they?
I would argue that this doesn't matter.
Regardless of authorial intent, N. Brio's story is inspiring. Have you ever been friends with someone who never seemed to care about you or your accomplishments? Has anyone ever taken credit for something you've done, whether that be at work or in your personal life? N. Brio was in a situation just like this, and he...just left.. No coming back for round three, not even coming back for the fun kart racer where even the Japanese bootleg character was invited! Why would he want to race go-karts with the man who stole his inventions and wasted years of his life? No, as far as Naughty Dog was concerned, that was where Brio's tale ended. That was the last we were to see of the Simpsons-looking scientist, and that was for the best. Perhaps he went on to become a bartender, or a disc jockey, or even a well-regarded inventor in his own right—as long as he was away from Cortex, I'm sure he was happy.
It's just too bad that the other developers didn't pick up on this.
Now, I know: this is all just fan interpretation to begin with. There's no real evidence that Naughty Dog strictly intended for Crash 2: Cortex Strikes Back to be Brio's final appearance for the rest of time (though I could argue that leaving him out of the all-star kart racer was pretty damning). This is just how I've come to understand the character over the years, but regardless of what I thought or wanted, N. Brio would go on to appear in several games after the Crash Bandicoot series left the hands of Naughty Dog.
And I think that's kind of a shame.
The very first post-ND game was Crash Bash, and wouldn't you know it—Brio's back, aligned with Cortex once again like nothing ever happened. Yeah, it's a party game, but it still has a story justifying its events in-universe, and with only eight playable characters it would have been so easy to throw in Pinstripe or Komodo Joe or the freaking hog from the first game to take his place on the roster. But as if to intentionally poke a hole in my entire theory, Eurocom reintroduced N. Brio and deleted any kind of progression he might have made in his past two appearances. He was Cortex's buddy once again, fighting for the evil side! Woohoo!
Next was Twinsanity, and this game has the decency at the very least not to partner him up with Cortex again. Instead, he works with Dr. N. Tropy to find...treasure, or something, and gets defeated by Spyro (this was a weird game). It's not an awful portrayal, but frankly, unnecessary. Why is Brio involving himself with these rejects again? When has he ever been motivated by wealth? Didn't this game have enough villains already? At the end of the day, I can only be thankful that he and Cortex weren't buddy-buddy again—although partnering up with someone who was still allied with Cortex is...an odd strategic decision.
Brio's final appearance, and likewise the series's final appearance for about eight years was in Mind over Mutant, an even weirder game than Twinsanity that has South Park cutscenes and self-aware humor. For once I believe he was actually done a little bit of justice. He's back with Cortex, but this is actually portrayed as an anomalous development in the dynamic of the characters—it's made clear that Cortex and Brio were not on good terms prior to the events of this game.. He's gone slightly mad like any good scientist should be, constantly taking credit for things he didn't invent in a humorous over-correction of his previous passive nature. It's also pretty funny that drinking from strange beakers, something he did in his original boss fight for practical purposes, is now something that he just does for fun. It could just be his portrayal by the always-fantastic Maurice LaMarche, but I really like this take on Brio. If they couldn't leave him be, at least they gave him a continuation that made sense for his character.
(All of these screenshots are from the same game.)
Personally I tend to ignore Brio's appearances in later games (but I don't ignore the games themselves—how does that work?). I think his story was told best in the span of two games, and also by nature of his absence in the following two. There's no need to bring back every single character who's ever appeared, whether you're in charge of a dumb video game franchise or an HBO original series, just because you want to have fan service and continuity nods in a shallow attempt at recreating the good old days. A healthy balance of old and new is always best, and if something seems to be a relic of the past, maybe that's for a reason.
So what can we learn from Dr. Nitrus Brio? I think it's important to realize that if you find yourself in a toxic or abusive relationship, whether it be personal or professional, it's always best to leave that relationship behind. Of course, this is sometimes hard for those who rely on their abusers for financial support. Some don't even know that they're in an unhealthy situation until it's too late. Whatever the case, it can be a complicated, sticky mess; but at least N. Brio shows that if you're given a clear out, you should just take it. That's advice I live by, and N. Brio deserves all the credit for that.
