Thinking about Naruto again brings to mind an old AU. I probably posted about it but fuck it here we go again:

Alright so an OC who is a mission bastard (one parent totally was a ninja) moves to Konoha with her dog. Said Dog is just like the chillest fucking dog and actually is a bastard summon/nin dog. It can talk but it prefers not to.

OC is probably an Akimichi cause they love food, are chubby and open a bakery. As such the clan adopts them even if they aren’t sure cause god that’s their cousin.

But anyway: dog. The dog goes off and then comes back pregnant. Originally I had the dog the father of the puppies but mother works better.

Dog gives birth to a litter of 12 puppies all which seem… strange. Turns out nin dogs tend to only be born one by one unless someone is destined for multiple dogs. But there’s also something else: a pack. A pack occurs when one litter has multiple nin dogs and then multiple people get the dogs. They’re all destined for someone.

I think you see where I’m going.

Imagine our OC, carrying a basket of puppies who were recently weaned, following her dog down the street as the dog hunts down its puppies partners. The dog finds Kiba, who is upset no nin puppy seems to like him.

Not for long. Here have a puppy kiddo and help me find the others.

Off they go and they hand out all the puppies. Konoha laws say anyone whose part of a pack with an Inuzuka is instantly part of the clan. So… yeah.

Some don’t mind. Some DO MIND. Most the Hyuuga and the Uchiha.

Naruto is just thrilled he gets to hang out with feral kids like him while Tsume cackles she got the kid now fuckers, watch her make Kushina’s kid a terror.

i very much enjoy the extremely scientific analysis of the naruto verse in which there are three genders, aka naruto, sasuke, and Woman.

Obviously let's give room for nuance. A ton of Naruto characters don't fall into these gender norms. This does predominantly apply to the rampant proliferation of the three-person dynamics that were assigned by the government and dictate your entire life. And, like, society. It does not end. Gender isn't a biological factor in Naruto, it's a social dynamic constructed entirely by your homoerotic tension with other men. And there are so many.

Madara (S), Hashirama (N), Mito (W). Izuna (N) and Tobirama (S) - tragically, Izuna died before women could be invented. Sarutobi (N), Danzo (S, horrifically) - see above about women not being invented yet. Jiraiya (N), Orochimaru (S), Tsunade (W). Yahiko (N), Nagato (S), Konan (W). Obito (N), Kakashi (S), Rin (W). Shisui (N), Itachi (S), that little deeply unimportant girlfriend (W). Um, fucking, Naruto (N), Sasuke (S), Sakura (W). Even - even, fuckin, Rock Lee (N), Neiji (S), Tenten (W).

And what do they all have in common????

There is some room for alternative gender expressions here, like being butch or femme. Naruto gender expressions: teacher, otouto, woman who you can't even tell is woman gendered because she has no backstory but you just have to kinda assume that she has a polycule-based backstory where she was Woman Gender. I feel almost as if 2/3rds of the Rookie 9 are liberated from this. InoShikaCho just doesn't fit (their chaotic cousin energy is just too strong and Ino's too much of a lesbian). Hinata's too busy being defined entirely by a different throuple's N to have codependent dynamics with her own N and S (and I'm hesitant to even say that, since I actually don't know if Kiba and Shino have a codependent rivalry - do they?).

I get, like, the reason for all of this. Curse of Hatred. Cycles. N and S Genders being sourced from demigods or something. Narrative parallelism. Sympathy points. It's not the bad guy's fault he's evil, his N and W gendered counterparts died :(. But an extremely strange side-effect of this is that all of the male characters are, like, Just Naruto or Just Sasuke. But the vast majority of the female characters are - like, completely defined by the men in their lives - but also they are more likely to be a unique person. Mito, Sakura, and Rin have actually nothing in common. Writing so sexist it creates more interesting characters?!?!

Unironically, this is why I'm always saying that Sasunaru is the ship of all time, nothing will ever top it, you will NEVER do it like Sasunaru, etc. Every important relationship in the series is meant to evoke Sasunaru. (Notably, none of the explicitly romantic ones. But we're beyond such paltry understandings of the most iconic pairing of all time as fundamentally based in romance. We're operating on a higher level than that). This unbroken chain of toxic yaoi has culminated at the end point of Sasunaru, and it exists to parallel Sasunaru and define their relationship by the dysfunction of generations of tragedy. That's why Naruto has to consciously break the cycle and free them from the generational hate - it was the only way to save Sasuke. This is also why I'm always saying that Sasunaru is the point of Naruto, and that the entirety of Naruto is about Sasunaru. Come back to me when your work has invented new genders in the all-encompassing pursuit of toxic yaoi.

This also means that the only truly gender non-conforming individuals in Naruto are its mightiest heterosexuals: Minato (W) and Kushina (N). Truly insane. The N/S/W configuration is the societal norm, it's bonkers to make a major good-aligned male character a wifeguy. By Naruto standards Minato and Kushina are the only queer couple.

Neijiderick (Nay-jer-ick) Fang and Maisie (maze-ee) Towers

Neiji and Maisie are not children of a Named Myth. instead, they are children of a fairy tale in that they are to inherit archetypes.

Maisie Towers is the daughter of a Maiden in the Tower. Her family, once, was an inherited *Princess* in the Tower, but Maisie will quite firmly correct anyone who calls her a princess. Her story is thus: She will be locked in a tower, with her only company being The Dragon guarding her. She will be trapped until a Dragonslayer saves her. She will also correct anyone on this-- it is not a PRINCE who saves her. In fact, her story has NEVER been a Prince! Her story has always had a Dragonslayer instead. Because the crown inherited patriarchically, and it was always princesses who inherited the Tower myth, her family lost more and more of their inherited wealth. A few generations back they were poor enough that they had to sell their title, and having lost their nobility, neither Maisie nor her mother were born princesses.

Neijiderick Fang is the dragon who will guard her. heres where my ocs get quite far from canon: obviously, ever after high has gone the direction of "dragons are pets/mounts" and "dragonriders are a concept". This means that INHERENTLY, dragons are less of a threat to anyone whose story involves killing a dragon, or being trapped by a dragon. In the story that I'm telling with these characters, I imagine there are two types of dragons: a divergent evolutionary line. Im calling the CANON dragons "dragons" and im calling my dragons "wyverns". Dragons were what terrorized villages, interacted with people more, and eventually were domesticated. Wyverns had overall less interaction with humans, were not domesticated, and have become more akin to canon eah's Magical Beast: wherein, like the Big Bad Wolf, a magical beast with a clear enough Story can become an inherited title, and, eventually, become no different than any other person.

SO, Neiji is a dragon the same way Professor Badwolf is a wolf.

Maisie's mom raised her alone, n she was an only child. Neiji's mom died before he was born, obvs on account of the story. She had laid Neiji's egg n left it with Maisie's mom in the tower. before maisie was born, egg started hatching, and she sent it off to a wizard tower, where a wizard and a different dragon hatched and raised Neiji. The wizard saw it as a job n quickly left, and neiji doesn't consider him a parent. the dragon who raised him left him with Maisie a lot and basically had him on weekends.

**Yumettytale:

In this Au, there are three vital trees that maintain the balance of the universe: **Life**, **Magic** and **Feelings** ... the three trees are protected by extremely powerful guardians: (Zhouzalcoytl, Lannyri and Nimlai respectively).

Each tree is located in a hidden world and no one must know where they are in order to keep them safe, although some humans have found them and either have good intentions or have bad intentions.

Because of this, this Au takes place in a world completely alien to any place in the original Subtertale, since it is the hidden world where the Tree of Feelings resides.

**Story:

**Beginning of the Story:

It all begins when **Nimlai**, the guardian of the Tree of Feelings, senses an imminent threat coming from the other two trees.

To protect her home and her tree, she decides to move her world to the Subtertale multiverse. However, a human named Misheel who is searching for the Golden Apples attacks Nimlai, leaving her severely injured and ending her life.

Dream and Nightmare were created after their later mother Nimlai was killed by Misheel.

It is possible that this human was one of Zhouzalcoytl's creations, as at the time of the attack there was no life near the Tree of Feelings and it may have been deliberate.

Dream and Nightmare were originally small balls of fire: Dream was a gold and white ball and Nightmare was a purple and white ball.

Nimlai was going to give them human bodies to protect their fragile forms, but the energy radiating from them caused them to explode as they had very few escape points.

They were then given skeleton bodies (based on Sokoswaptertale Sans), allowing that energy to flow through without problems; this is why they are not considered Sanses as they only inhabit one body.

Dream and Nightmare were not true guardians, just replacements.

They had to learn to unleash their true powers on their own, which would give them human bodies (though they are not real humans).

These are different from the ones Nimlai gave them when they were first created, as those were simply vessels to contain them, which is why they exploded.

Dream and Nightmare are biological siblings and twins.

**The Twins and the Village:

As they grow up, Dream tries to connect with the villagers, while Nightmare feels increasingly isolated.

The people of the village, realizing Dream's kindness, begin to take advantage of her, demanding more than she can give.

This creates a cycle of stress that leads her to cry alone, distancing herself from her brother. Nightmare, meanwhile, is the target of mockery and violence, leading him to deep sadness.

The arrival of **Neijie**, a cat-monster, becomes a ray of hope for Dream. Through her, Dream finds genuine friendship for the first time, leading her to neglect her connection with Nightmare.

However, the pressure from the villagers and her brother's suffering continue to intensify.

**The Apple Incident:

The Apple Incident occurred when Dream and Nightmare were six years old, physically, meaning Nightmare went through at least five years of bullying.

On the day of the Apple Incident, Dream needs a golden apple to help a sick villager.

Nightmare, in a desperate attempt to prove her worth, touches a black apple, causing her to be corrupted.

The negativity spreads, affecting the village and its inhabitants, who, losing control, direct their hatred towards Nightmare.

Realizing what has happened, Dream runs to protect her brother, but is attacked and knocked unconscious.

Nightmare, manipulated by the voice of the human who killed Nimlai, consumes the apples, becoming an entity of pure negativity.

In an attempt to save him, Dream eats a golden apple, granting her the ability to sense the emotions of others and transforming her essence.

**The Transformation:

With her newfound emotional connection, Dream becomes a target of Nightmare's wrath, who, blinded by hatred, attacks her.

The force of the impact turns her to stone, and Neijie, seeing what has happened, teams up with Lannyri, the guardian of the Tree of Magic, to search for a way to free Dream from her prison.

**Final Chapter:

After 496 years, Dream is freed and trained by Lannyri, who teaches her to control her powers.

Aware of her brother's corruption, Dream must confront Nightmare and find a way to restore balance to her world and get her brother back.

But to do so, she will have to challenge not only Nightmare, but also the very feelings that once consumed her.

He wears Subtertale Sans's outfit... only a black liquid drips from it (the black liquid is darkness), he usually has 4 tentacles in defense and offense mode but it can vary, and he also wears his tiara from time to time.

Same as Nightmare Sans.
