WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE TWO MUSIC THINGIES WITHIN A WEEK OF EACHOTHER STOP THE PRESSES!!

*ahem* I mean, ehh heh, yes! Merely a week after the last jam I did (although it seems like it was posted yesterday because I never posted the last one here until yesterday) I actually recorded another one too! Because I was messing about with my Electribe 2S and came up with something super rad that I had to keep developing. Originally it was entirely on the Electribe 2S too, but I decided to tweak it so the bass and lead parts were sequenced on my Korg Volca Bass and Volca Keys respectively.

Thus, I present some silly techno shenanigans from your friendly neighborhood Neapolitan_Husky!

Is it weird that, after attempting to go to one of the raves at MFF and hating the music, my immediate thought as I left was "I could do better than that..." ?

... okay maybe not since I don't know how to really DJ at all. But seriously, somehow listening to that trashy generic brostep the DJ was playing at the time REALLY oddly encouraged me to get better at my music. Because I won't lie, I'd love to get good enough to perform at a con someday.

I'd fucking love that. I really would.

14/10/2017 2146 -- “Rainswept_Turnpike”

Soooo it’s been a few months since I properly recorded some muzak hasn’t it? Blame work throwing shittons of overtime at me mixed with my boyfriend also having some major surgery last month. Not that I’m complaining about the latter, I love my Kibu very much and support him through thick and through thin without a single regret. The former though? That shit can fuck right the hell off, just sayin’.

*AHEM* But yes, since my last jam I’ve acquired several random pieces of gear to my assortment of random electronic music crap. Specifically in this case: a Korg Electribe ER-1 mkII (which I have yet to show off on this blog) and the Korg Volca Keys I got about a month ago! So I paired them up and made some techno-ey fluff.

ALSO as usual this isn’t the full jam. But since Tumblr beith a little bitch and punishes you for external links this is just a shortened search-friendly version. Full version will be in a separate post.

09/12/2017 2300 -- “Sergals”

Also put on your nerd glasses, it’s technical details time! *AHEM* The Korg Electribe 2S is the master clock in this case, with the Volca Keys being slaved to it via-MIDI. The Electribe is also acting as a drum machine here, providing the rhythm track. The Volca Keys’s audio output is being routed through the Electribe’s audio in as well. And all of it is being recorded by my portable Tascam recorder and then limited slightly in Audacity.

Also the Technical Neerrdddy Stuff: The ER-1 mkII is acting as the master, sending clock via MIDI to the Volca Keys. The Volca Keys’ audio is then routed through one of the audio-ins of the Electribe. Normally the audio-ins work as a gater that can be manipulated with the sequencer of the ER-1 mkII. But in this case I just have the audio-ins set in passthrough mode so the Volca isn’t being gated at all. Then all of it is recorded into my Tascam DR-05, exported into Audacity, limited slightly, and BAM muzaks!

19/08/2017 1750 -- “Taconite (UBER_SHORT.VER)”

So Roland is having a contest at the moment involving their Boutiques where you record yourself doing a little 60 second session that has to involve one of them in any shape or form. You can pair them up with any other sort of gear there just has to be at least one Boutique in there. So I decided to pair my JX-03 with my TR-505 for something a little bit different than the normal house/techno stuffs I make.

Thus, I present my silly little entry where I make some minimal synthwave.

Also I did record a longer version of this too. That’s gonna be uploaded soon.

(and yes technically I don’t need to upload this here since Roland only counts uploads to Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. But screw it the thing can be here too)

So that Monotribe I bought? I dun made muzaks with it. And then recorded myself making muzaks with it. Because, ya’ know. That’s what you do with small groovebox-ey synth drum machine stuffamabobs.

So yes. I made some very basic and minimal acid house with this thingy. Take a gander if you wish!

Technical Stufffsss: The Monotribe is being run through a Behringer RV-600 Reverb Machine pedal and... that’s it. Seriously, nothing else. Kinda a short technical description this time around eh?

And after months and months, finally my Youtube channel is graced with more lovely radical house muzaks. Because it’s about damn time I got off of my socially anxious and unmotivated-due-to-depression ass and did something. So yeah. I fumble around with my Volca Bass and Volca Sample for your enjoyment. And I dun filmed it. Yay!

 Technical Funsies: The Volca Sample is acting as the master clock, with the Volca Bass slaved to it via the Sync-Out/In ports on both machines. The Volca Bass is then processed through my 1st Gen Korg MiniKP KAOSS Pad which is set to the ping-pong delay setting. All of it is run through my little mixer, recorded into Audacity, and then limited slightly.

... sweet jesus, it’s been forever since I recorded some music hasn’t it? Well I fixed that finally tonight. After a bit of a hiatus, mister Neapolitan_Husky is making bouncy House-tunes with his Korg Volca Bass and Volca Sample again! Wooooo goo meeeeeee!

03/09/2018 1901 – “Evil_Enchantress”

Sooo that recording music and uploading on a consistent basis thing? Yeah never heard of it. It’s been a long while but finally, FINALLY I got around to recording and uploading some muzak. FUCKING FINALLY.

But yes! Over the weekend I got yet another random piece of muzak equipment (shock horror, I know). This time it was a Twisted-Electrons Acid8, which is a really rad TB-303 style synth that is basically an 8-bit chiptune-ey synth with a 303-style interface. It’s pretty fucking radical. So what does a silly husky like myself do? Simple, pair it with my Volca Sample and make silly techno/electro nonsense of course! Go me.

As always, Soundcloud and Youtube and whatnot links will be in a separate post coming soon.

also you can probably guess where I got the name and the sample from in this. At least where the sample came from before I horrifically grinded it through a vocoder, heh

05/02/2017 -- 1428 (Working Title: “Digital Fetishist”)

Sooo those who’ve watched me for a bit (all negative-six of you) might have recalled that when I bought my Roland TB-3 I also got a Yamaha RX8. But I never actually got around to using the RX8 in a proper jam video. Well, here’s me fixing that.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy some simple acidey-technoey stuffs. Courtesy of the Roland TB-3 and That-One-Yamaha-Drum-Machine-No-One-Actually-Likes-Apparently.

FOR THE NEEEERRRDSSS (like me): The Roland TB-3 is acting as the master clock in this instance, with a MIDI cable tieing it to the RX8. Both are recorded just straight into my mixer, no effects or eq’ing or anything this time around. Just some limiting in Audacity and that’s about it really.

*ahem* Errmm... but yes! I have to admit, I’ve fallen quite in love with my TR-8. And since I already love the shit out of my Volca Bass, I figured it’s high time I brought them together for some fun. Link them up, mash out some muzak, and have a good time. and then have them kiss

But yeah! Have some 90′s-flavored Techno/Trance. Courtesy of my lovely musical stylings.

THE NERDY DETAILS: The TR-8 is once again the master, with a Midi cable running from the Midi-out of the TR-8 to the Volca Bass. I also have the Volca Bass running through a 1st Gen Korg minKP KAOSS Pad, which is giving an extra reverb effect to the Volca Bass. Those both are routed into the TR-8′s external in, and then the whole thing is recorded in Audacity using the TR-8′s USB-audio capabilities.

It was gonna happen eventually, folks. I mean, I got both a Roland TB-3 and a TR-8 recently after all. I was bound to combine them together and do stuffs. Old school Acid House-ey stuffs, in this case. Especially since I’ve been listening to too many late-80′s Acid House-mixes on Youtube lately as inspiration. So I made some very simplistic stuff of my own. Yay for me!

Also I admittedly didn’t make use of the “Scatter” functions on both of the machines in this. Wanted it to sound as classic-ey as possible, so I avoided the Scatter and the built in effects this time around.
