It is so weird to think so many fan wars nowadays are between gay x straight ships and the fact some people act that crazy shipping fans are usually the ones with queer ones... You know how many big ship wars are straight on straight attack? In comics (Scott X Jean Grey x Wolverine or Barbara X Dick X Kory), animes (Rukia X Ichigo X Orihime or Lucy X Natsu X Lissana) tv shows (basically any teen tv show to be honest), cartoons (Zuko x Katara x Aang)... Like honestly, if you go to social media outside of Tumblr sometimes we are having big queer ships and people just don't know? Like Sterek was definitely one of the ships on Tumblr back in my day, but I meet so many teen Wolf fans through the years that barely registered it, to them the fight was Malia stiles x Lydia???? Because they just hang out in the straight side of the Internet which is wild to think about. Idk what point I am trying to make.

so people are speculating that "Natsu" from Peach Momoko's Ultimate X-Men is gonna be the daughter of this universe's Cyclops and Kwannon.

There's lots of evidence of course on the Scott side, with the red eye/eyepatch, and the uniform and name seem like they could be a reference to Nathan/Cable. I guess Kwannon just because she's Japanese, I can't think of any other evidence it would be her besides maybe giving her a universe where she gets to have her daughter, but obviously idk if she'll even get to be a character in this or in the new Ultimate Universe at all lmao. What are your thoughts?

Oh, that's very random. The character is pretty clearly inspired by Scott, especially since Natsu means born in summer. I can't really say I subscribe to the theory that it's Kwannon's and Scott's child, if anything it'll just be a very different version of Scott, kind of how Peach Momoko's demon days had Logan be an actual wolf. I would very much hate if Kwannon and Scott had a child, even in an alt-universe, just cos I know it'll fuel people shipping them in 616, and also I just don't care for them being together even in an alt-universe.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kwannon show up in the ultimate universe but I would hope it's her as a ninja or something and not as some random character's mum. Hell, I would prefer Kwannon be a villain in this universe. All in all, no one is beating Sora in the 'Kwannon's child in an alt-universe' category.

'A journey to past loved ones and self-acceptance

What would you do if you could get another chance to be with your dead loved ones one more time and say everything that was left unsaid in the past. All of Us Strangers (2023), a sad drama film with supernatural elements by British director Andrew Haig , is wrapped around this very universal idea . The film, based on Taichi Yamada's novel Strangers ( Ijintachi to no natsu , 1987) , which was previously made into a film, has been brought into modern times by dealing with the experiences of sexual minorities.

Adam ( Andrew Scott ) , a middle-aged screenwriter suffering from writer's block, lives alone in an empty apartment building dominated by glass windows on the outskirts of London. One night, by chance, she meets the only other resident of the house, young Harry ( Paul Mescal ), who desperately needs another person to be with. As the relationship between the men slowly deepens, Adam returns to the landscapes of his childhood, where he confronts his parents who died decades earlier ( Jamie Bell and Claire Foy ) and his repressed feelings.

Glowing in the evening sky and golden colors of the rising sun, All of Us Strangers is like a memory of the past. The leisurely progressing narrative can be interpreted both as a new opportunity offered by supernatural forces, and as an imagination arising from within the mind of Adam, who lives in a kind of intermediate state.

Reminiscent of David Lowery's A Ghost Story (2017), the film depicts Adam's parents, who appear as ghosts of the past somewhere in the late 1980s, stopped, but as whole people in their feelings for their son. In the role of the father, Jamie Bell is a warm character in his relaxation, although at the same time the contemptuous attitude towards homosexuality typical of the time shines through in his speech. As a mother, Claire Foy continues the depiction of women familiar from her period films, where there is no ambiguity about the strength of the maternal relationship.

Andrew Scott, who at the latest is now shaking off the role of Moriarty in the new Sherlock (2010–2017) series, is believable in his sympathetic lead role as an expression of multiple emotions. Paul Mescal's sensitive role, but limited in terms of perspective, has a lot in common with the film Aftersun - our day in the sun (2022), although otherwise the works are as different as night and day. Examining Adam and Paul's identity between Gay and queer and its intergenerational experience, the film emphasizes their support for each other in the most difficult moments.

Touching on an emotional level, the only weakness of All of Us Strangers seems to be found in Haig and Yamada's script, which does not develop its premise full of emotions and drama enough. In straightforward moments of dialogue and revelations, the viewer's interpretation abilities are underestimated at the expense of subtle narration. Still, the film is a small-scale drama gem dominated by beautiful storytelling and strong emotions, which speaks for self-acceptance.
