The Power of Poppy Pendle, by Natasha Lowe. A little girl named Poppy doesn’t want to be a witch. She just wants to bake. Her parents have other plans.

The Haunting of Hill House, by Shirley Jackson. Not a story featuring a kid on an adventure, but instead a somewhat odd adult woman and her experiences in a haunted house.

Before they get back in the Bronco, Bradley slings his arm around Natasha. He peppers the side of her head with kisses. She scratches gently at his ribs before pulling away and Jake, watching with one foot in the door, wonders if he ever stood a chance.

The implications of that scene in tlfop where Thaniel has the fucking shotgun are insane to me because there’s only two ways it could have gone:

1.) he shot into the crowd and was completely inaccurate because of how disoriented he was, and very likely killed someone

2.) he shot into the crowd and was insanely accurate despite how disoriented he was, canonically making him the best shot in the entire pulleyverse (aka the ONLY character to use a gun that doesn’t have military experience)

And he’s such an unreliable narrator, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE HE’S SO DISORIENTED, so we have no idea which it is

Just to give you an idea about how fucking out of it he was, let’s recap what he’s working with in terms of physicality:

- went fully unconscious minutes before shooting directly into a crowd

- very likely still healing from a concussion

- was locked in a room by himself for days and is likely malnourished (I know they like gave him food but like probably not enough considering he’s a pretty big guy)

- HAS A MASSIVE GUNSHOT WOUND IN HIS SHOULDER

- Climbed and descended an entire fucking mountain with like half his normal lung capacity maybe a week prior and never had time to properly recover

- Sustained a full sprint (again at half his normal lung capacity) all the way up a flight of stairs, through the legation, out the door, and down to where Takiko was when she got fuckin murked

All this on top of a whole assortment of mental health concerns, and they thought it’d be a good idea to stick a shotgun in this man’s hands and tell him to have at it. AND HE DID. It’s fucking wild.

This is pretty much the agreed upon player build for main stats for a Gepard who has the potential to replace the healer role. You want to try keeping effect hit rate above 50 for the extra defense stat. ER let’s him pop shields as soon as he can, and SPD boots let him gain energy to throw shields before allies move. This lets him drop a 2400 to 2700 shield on the regular (before ally/blessing buffs) at trace level 8

His own LC is ideal, but landau’s choice and the wildfire one isnt bad imo, havent tried the market trends LC but it reads nice

Trace leveling is ultimate > skill > basic (X) > talent

reading springfest now after everything in nagazora is making me crave more fu hua and mei interactions. i feel like thus far in my go through, i've never actually seen them interact, but it's kinda fun that the person who made the recommended reading order put springfest after nagazora (though of course this is probably in preparation for whatevers going on with senti/fu hua rn in ch 19)

but the way that the empyrea isolates herself so she doesn't have any attachment to those who she will outlive and how she winds up becoming lonely as a result threw me back to mei isolating herself in world serpent so that she can protect kiana and just... idk..... i think the two talk about that isolation would be interesting

also. i love fu hua. she's still at the top of my list for best character so i'm just a happy little guy getting more fu hua content now in the story :> yippee fu hua
