Sakura gets a second point for being the first to complete the tree climbing at being better at chakra control, but at the same time it just feels like she was made good at it so no extra training segment time would have to be put into her getting good at it and it can be all about Sauce and Nart. Idk that feels too pessimistic but also could totally be true.

Somewhere off to his left, both Tenten and Hyūga Neji argued in rapid, hissed whispers as they fought back-to-back with a group of four.

“I’m telling you, it’s a good idea!”

Gaara, let me out you little shit—

“It’s not, you’ll get both the enemy and us killed!”

Shut up, Shukaku.

“Neji, come on, you’ve never lost to him!”

We could take all these weaklings if you just let me take over.

“Tenten, we are not trying out an unpractised technique in the middle of—”

Tenten swore, something guttural in a slew of sharp syllables that didn’t match any of the languages Gaara knew but he needed no translation for. He really didn’t have time to focus on their conversation with a multitude of enemies surrounding them, but their volume had increased to the point it could no longer be ignored.

They’d shut up if you let me out, ya know.

Shukaku wasn’t helping his split concentration either, and he ultimately needed to sidestep a flying kick that bypassed his sand while trying to concentrate in four directions at once.

Unacceptable. A whirling scream of sand pulverised the unfortunate ronin with a nasty crunch.

Lee, a good thirty metres away from the loud conversation, knocked two enemies into trees with a loud cry of “Leaf Hurricane!” then turned and, with enough volume to freeze every person in the entire clearing—Gaara included—bellowed, “Tenten! There is no reason for such language!”

You’re fucking kidding me, right?

Lee had interesting priorities, that Shukaku and Gaara could agree on.

You’re the one who actively writes him letters. Dude.

“Oh, for the love of—” Tenten growled under her breath. “Is that what you care about right now!?”

Across the clearing, Kankurō cackled.

“What would Gai-sensei say about such foul words!?” Lee shouted back.

“What the fuck?” said one of Gaara’s opponents. Gaara had half a mind to agree with him.

“You know what?” Tenten said to Neji. “Fuck this.”

She then turned and bolted across the field.

Last movie/tv show: I just caught up on JJK & I'm thinking about Tojo A Lot. He's perfect. Perfect son, treasure him forever.

Spicy/savoury/sweet: Spicy, I've destroyed my life & cannot enjoy normal flavor ranges. if shit isn't spicy, strong, or bitter (glowing an evil red from the amount of spice, stout beers, black coffee, ect), it's not my favorite. idk, i wish i didnt do this to myself lmao I don't like sweet things very much at all.

Relationship status: Married to Local Kakashi PFP @doktorventure for like a long time now wowee (11 years this month, bananas) He's likes enough sweet shit for the both of us tho, taking one for the team (He is the one on the left, I am the one who refuses to have photos taken of my face :) but the arcade cabinet had our name on it so i caved lmao also this photo is old as fuck ash has his throat tattooed now, it's weird seeing it naked)

Oh yeah, I just remembered something. When I played through the Great Wall arc of Granblue and found out Baragona's backstory my first thought was: "wow, this is like if Itachi's backstory was good."

The history of Torhid isn't the same as Konoha in many ways, but what Baragona's story did sell me on was the idea of: "I can understand why this guy killed his family."

The whole thing is a bit lengthy, so a summary: the bloodline of Torhid's royal family is the key to activate an ancient nuke. The king finds out that the ruler of another, much more powerful country (elderly catboy in the video, True King) that they're subservient to (the prince of Torhid, Baragona, is one of his esteemed knights) wants that ancient nuke.

King Torhid devises an insane plan where he attempts rebellion and orders his own son to slaughter the entire royal line in retaliation, which will both keep the nuke from being able to be activated and force the True King to rely on Baragona, which will put Baragona in a position to backstab him. The rest of the royal line agrees to their own slaughter, seeing it as their duty to keep the nuke out of the True King's hands.

Baragona goes down the family line, cutting down unresisting relations until he arrives at his youngest cousin. Even after everything, he can't bring himself to kill such a small child and hides him away instead.

In no particular order, things that this plot did well:

You initially meet Baragona in another country long before hearing about all the tragedies, and he's a polite and helpful fellow. This makes you question from the beginning if the slaughter narrative you hear is the whole story; contrast Itachi, who is pretty consistently horrible right up until The Reveal

While the Torhid royal family is never given a hard population number, it's implicitly not a huge number of people; contrast the Uchiha, who were populous enough to have their own neighborhood and stores. A direct royal line is also going to have a much more limited, controlled population versus a huge clan with centuries of history

It's suggested that the child that Baragona can't kill is the youngest target. Contrast Naruto never spelling out the ages of Itachi's victims but creating a situation (extended family) where the existence of other kids as young as Sasuke is the only thing that makes sense

King Torhid's plan is so extreme because he's up against a much more powerful figure that he can't match on the battlefield and can't find an alliance against; manipulation is the only option. The problem of the nuke also creates an immediate, extreme threat that the royal family has a plausible sense of intense responsibility towards. Contrast the vague Uchiha complaints of "marginalized cops" and the lack of any outside intervention/alternative solutions, as well as the lack of dire enough narrative circumstances to push characters into making believable hasty decisions

Unresisting targets for murder carried out by an adult versus actively resisting targets for murder carried out by a teen and a pre-teen

Granblue's story is hardly perfect--there's timeline issues, and you gotta wonder just how "consenting" the entire royal family was to being slaughtered, and it still leaves you asking if there wasn't a better way. It feels much more plausible, though, and Baragona still manages to eke out some pathos in spite of his horrific actions whereas Itachi never got more than a HAH from me on account of how absurd the whole Uchiha plot is.

I finally played naruto shippuden storm 4 on the playstation and I realized I've been lying to myself this whole time. I'm actually a very very repressed naruto fan who's been covering it up by masking my enjoyment in cruel irony and it took a silly little fighting game to show me the light.

I feel like the games are better at storytelling than the storyteller himself when it comes to naruto.
