The Kits
Aka. what I started drawing during the Lofi livestream.
Plus, their parents;
(Full page and some ramblings under cut)
God, I love Aym and Baal so much, I'm so happy I finally got around to drawing them :D
I know Narinder isn't CANONICALLY their dad, but I love the headcannon where he is, so in my au/version that's just how it is.
Aym, while his fur and patterns are more like Forneus, acts more like Narinder and has a more lean body build like his dad. Meanwhile, Baal has Narinder's pattern and fur while having Forneus' personality and more rounder body shape.
Aym is half blind due to his eye being injured when he was younger - both of them have additional scars now from sparring or fighting off previous vessels.
Forneus is hyper supportive and involved - meanwhile, Narinder is silently doting and proud, more laid back in raising them too.
Anyhow,

Greetings~ Is it okay to ask a question?
how did you make your own design for the cotl bishops? I've been having trouble trying to come up with an idea on how to draw them but it's extremely difficult... yours look super cute and have a unique style!! how do you do it?
I focused primarily on the jobs I wanted them to have! And based everything else around that (?) for Heket and Leshy, head chef and assistant chef - so I gave Heket an apron, and a sleeveless shirt to emphasise her brawn, same for Leshy but more gardener central too. I made him tall af because of the golden rule youngest siblings are the tallest
For Kallamar I designed him based off of a warrior, the type of follower constantly on expeditions. The marks on his cheeks are tear stains from 6 millenias of constant "oh my god narinders gonna kill me" attitude, and the stitched second mouth was from him trying to protect Shamura from Narinder completely splitting their head in half
As for Shams and Nari, just the normal follower clothing but w a tinge of their old robes (black n yellow) Narinder's is just his old TOWW robes but sewn into a size that fits him now also with a tinge of black and yellow somewhere
Tl;dr: Focused on the job I wanted them to wear, tropes I really liked, personality of the char, injuries they could have sustained but never mentioned, and canon design of the char

bishop headcanons + narinder
why not
narinder
chronologically the eldest, responsibly the “second in command” of the old faith
out of all the gods of the old faith, narinder had the least followers and prayers
secretly he craves some appreciation for his role
when he broke off he granted his followers a new choice: resurrection. death shouldn’t flow backwards but being death itself he can do what he wants. it disrupts the flow of the universe and so he must be imprisoned
he only began to wear the veil once he ran his own faith.
once imprisoned he refused to remember any good things he had with his siblings and only remembered their worst traits to fuel his hatred. deep deep DEEP down, he misses them
weapon of choice: sword, a weapon that is most versatile
shamura
the second eldest but treated as the leader
repressed af. they have only openly cried in front of their siblings once and that was when they imprisoned narinder. theyve practically stopped emoting altogether afterwards
ironically the most emotionally mature
war and knowledge/wisdom is their strong point but they also are a god of the arts such as literature and music. however in their own downtime they do embroidery and textiles
considered the most compassionate of the bishops
they are slow to anger and prefer to negotiate before turning to violence
however want their wrath and you shall have it
after their head was broken they began to rely heavily on their crown to even think straight which is why their crown has grown into their brain
weapon of choice: dagger, a small multipurpose weapon
heket
third sibling but tries to be second in command, she will be the voice
the most vocal on her thoughts and will say things that will hurt because she believes them to be the truth
cares greatly for her siblings even deep down narinder
usually the one to calm down kallamar and leshy
after getting her throat slashed she coughs a lot and speaks in a steady rasp. the loudest she can go is a slightly raised voice
she became more ruthless over the years and requires many sacrifices. consequently this caused anura to be as dead as it is
heket has the most shrines out of the bishops
if they ever reconciled she would be the last one to speak to narinder
weapon of choice: axe, a heavy blade as strong and cutting as she
kallamar
second youngest, feels like the middle child
a scaredy cat, usually tries to throw someone else under the bus but he doesn’t really mean it. he’s just a person who runs when scared
he’s a smooth talker
he is the healer, he knows how to make balms and potions. on the other hand he can also make potent poisons
Kallamar has the most well kept shrines out of all the bishops
kallamar doesn’t believe narinder ever cared about them. when his ears were ripped off he had a revelation that narinder fought to hurt them, to kill them just so he can keep new power as a god. he’s been afraid of narinder ever since
weapon of choice: hammer, to more easily break through rocks for gemstones
leshy
the youngest of the bishops, usually treated as such and so he overcompensates
he’s a worm but he has arms sometimes. he’s a god so if he wants arms he can get them
while he is mostly a representative of chaos, he also is a god of the arts. unlike shamura who overlooks literature and music, leshy overlooks crafts such as painting/pottery/etc
his shrines often have flower chains decorating them. aptly his shrines look the most busy
though blind, he can sense vibrations with his branch-like antennae
out of all the bishops leshy is the most active in his domain. They say if you see moving bushes it’s a sign that he’s nearby and will protect you. but dont get too close
weapon of choice: claws, to more easily slash clear the area for new plants

Ford Motor Company today announced the latest recipients of its Conservation and Environmental Grants, with $120,000 being made available to the successful entries. Accepted from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen, the touted projects focused on three main areas: Environmental Education, Protection of the Natural Environment and Conservation Engineering. Environmental Education Taking home the top prize in Environmental Education, and a $15,000 purse to implement her project, is Lina Nayel Al Tarawneh’s “Green Mangroves” in Qatar. The proposed outcome of the grant will see hands-on learning occur through free weekly kayak trips to Purple Island, where expeditions catering to school children and individuals, will help raise awareness, and inevitably save the mangroves in the Alkhor region. Groupe d’ornithologie du Maroc (Gomac), came second securing $12,000 in funding for the preservation of the last significant coastal natural wetland area between the Mohammedia and El Jadida regions in Morocco. The aim of Gomac is to increase local awareness on the importance of the Dar Bouazza Wetlands, which is currently endangered by human activity. Completing the top three for Environmental Education is an entry from Egypt social development NGO Torathiyat, focused on air and water pollution around rural Giza. The programme – promoting eco-friendly products, correct disposal of bio-waste, and an overall attempt at improving the quality of life for local communities through small-scale interventions – will benefit from the grants scheme to the tune of $9,000.
Natural Environment Agricultural engineer Ait Hamou Abderrahmane sought to save the traditional beehives of Morocco, by developing and managing them in accordance with organic production methods. Having been drawn to the alarming environmental phenomenon of declining bee numbers, the $15,000 grant offered to Abderrahmane’s cause will help in converting the country’s apiaries from traditional, seemingly random, production to an innovative organic model, which can potentially increase bee numbers in the region. Arc en ciel scooped second place, and with it $12,000 in funding. The Lebanese Conservation Volunteers (LCV) project, is looking at climate change and how the increasing threat of urbanisation is wreaking havoc on Lebanon’s biodiversity. In order to fight those threats, Arc en ciel, a former recipient of various Ford Grants, is forming a team of conservation volunteers to keep Lebanon’s forests safe. The team will receive intensive theoretical and practical training on conservation. Tunisia supplied the $9,000-worthy pitch in the Natural Environment segment, where Sarra Arbaoui aims to improve plant salt tolerance using microorganisms – a green biotechnology for adaption to climate changes. In Arbaoui’s project, the focus will be on the adaption of plant species to salt stress.
Conservation Engineering Lebanon provided the top idea for Conservation Engineering, through the American University of Beirut’s Nature Conservation Centre’s initiative. The Local Conservation and Development with Open and Collaborative Science (LCDOCS) conducts consensus building workshops and provide the scientific resources and training to assess and monitor the results from its Green Map database. With its $15,000 funding, LCDOCS will develop Green Maps, which will be comprised of sites of natural significance and degraded environmental resources in 70 communities across the country. In Kuwait, headed by Dr. Saleh Al-Muzaini and Ahmad Al-Kofahi, Kuwait Water Association (KWA) will receive $12,000 for its second-placed entry, titled Periodic Statistical Study in Educational Facilities for Measuring the Water Consumption in Kuwait. Kuwait has the highest water consumption level in the world, with a daily average of around 500 litres per capita. KWA will collect and analyse data obtained from schools and provide the government with its findings in the hope a better level of water conservation can be observed in the future. Rounding out the top three, and the final award of the main three categories, is Morocco’s fight against plastic bags. A programme of education and awareness for the benefit of students, led by Aicha El Moutaouakkel and with the help of a $9,000 grant, the project hopes to eventually, once and for all, eliminate the use of plastic bags for the sake of the environment. Special Categories In the latest edition of the programme, there are two further winners, each of a $6,000 Ford Grant. Christopher Narinder Singh Poonian from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom put forward the idea of working with the Bedouin fishing communities of Egypt’s South Sinai to conserve their coral reef fisheries using cultural and traditional knowledge. The project, which ties the old with the new, is a worthy recipient of the Best in Community Engagement grant. The Best in Research grant went to Sarra Arbaoui, who added the $6,000 Special Categories win to her third-place Natural Environment grant, giving her green biotechnology for adaption to climate change a full $15,000 in funding for the future. Salt tolerance in crops allows for more effective use of poor quality irrigation water and marginal soil, but also helps mitigate yield loss. While her attention is currently on Tunisia, this could be something the whole world might one-day benefit from.
“Ford Motor Company is dedicated to preserving the environment for future generations and providing ingenious environmental solutions that contribute to a sustainable planet,” said Jacques Brent, president Ford Middle East and Africa. “Initiatives such as Ford’s Conservation and Environmental Grants programme evidence a commitment to encourage, support and reward the actions of individuals, groups and non-profit organisations in achieving the same goal.”
In its 16 years of existence, Ford Grants has become one of the largest corporate initiatives of its kind in the region, created to empower individuals and non-profit groups that are donating their time and efforts to preserve the environmental well-being of their communities.
Since its inception, the Ford Motor Company Conservation and Environmental Grants programme has received support and recognition from various governmental and non-governmental environmental authorities from around the Middle East, including the World Wide Fund for Nature, the Emirates Wildlife Society, the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED) and UNESCO Doha. Recipients are chosen by an independent panel of judges consisting of academics and leaders from regional environmental organisations. The judges are seasoned environmentalists or academicians from the region carefully selected based on geographical coverage, age and gender equality. They look for initiatives that demonstrate a well-defined sense of purpose, a commitment to maximising available resources, and a reputation for meeting objectives and delivering planned programmes and services.
