the happiest of holidays !! (a list of wintry prompts!) || Accepting until February
Leave it to Charlie to be excited over just about any holiday and excitedly chatter away about the multiple things that she could plan for the Hotel and it's residents. First on her list, of course, is to get decorations and a Christmas tree, despite good ones being a bit more difficult to come by since this was Hell after all.
As one hand holds onto Vaggie's hand, another hand comes up as Charlie taps her index finger against her chin, looking at all the different trees as a soft "Hmmm...." escapes her. She wants to make sure the residents of the Hotel have the best she can find, especially after everything that happened recently.
Eventually, she turns to Vaggie, her smile still as wide as ever.
"What do you think? Any of them catch your eye specifically?"

guess whos not going in at all this week, actually
#MY MANAGER EMAILED LIKE 2 HOURS B4 I HAD TO GO IN#she finally changed my schedule (1 day) to the night shift today#(i emailed her to be safe just kinda casually reaffirming im going in at the new time & then asking if any other shifts wanted 2 be changed#bcs that sounds great to me whstever option she goes with#she ignored that question & i get a new email from her asking if i completed a training. lets called it DOC#basically a long time ago she said 'i will send you DOC instructions soon' .. a few days pass and i get three 50 paged packets#one is called NAVIGATING DOC#im like oh ok cool that must be the DOC training shes talking abt bcs the other 2 packets were abt various trainings#NAH BRUH. APPARENTLY THE DAY IM SUPPOSED TO GO IN. SHE MESSAGES ME SOME ENTIRELY ALIEN PROGRAM#and is like 'u completed this right? cus if u didnt u cant come in today.'#LIKE?? MAYBE I WOULDA IF U SENT THE SHIT#but it's also like. dam i shouldve emailed prompting her to send what she said she would n clarifying BUT FUCK#WHY DO I GOTTA?? IM NOT THE MANAGER#she literally told me the name of the program rn thru email so i type it in and see like four hour long modules to complete#mind u i aint never even been informed a WHISPER abt this new program. nothings even labeled DOC TRAINING#but my struggle is. was i notified this?? and i just didnt see??? was i supposed to clarify with her what the DOC training was exactly??#the only thing ive heard abt doc training b4 this is 'i need to send u DOC training soon' in EMAIL. so i expected an alert#abt THE DOC TRAINING... in an EMAIL notification. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS#idk man#i dont even care bro like im busy as hell & the work is just to build clinic hours so i dont care abt the money factor#it's just like. can we get this first day jitters thing over with already?? im so over this bro#yaddayadda i emailed her an apology n ill be on that ASAP shit. but i did let her know i am basically justnnow seeing this site#n if there was any email or notif that couldve/tried to inform me of its existence 2 pls let me know / figure out how to find it#so the issue doesnt occur again & i dont have to keep botherinher which im so srry of bcs med is stress n shes just trying to get by#but still bro im a lil miffed bcs she probably thinks im stupid now and now im wondering if i AM#bcs WDYM ONLINE MODULES. my body alert me to having an entirely full bladder with more than 30s warning challenge (impossible)
#it! is! so! annoying! just! be! normal! *screams*#genuinely i did piss myself as a kid a LOT until i was like. 10. no lie.#bc i would not know - at all! no inclination whatsoever! if i went anyway nothing would come out! - i needed to pee#until we hit 'you are going to piss yourself immediately'#just 0 to 100 in 0.35 seconds#and i did not have the control or muscle strength or whatever to not just. piss myself if i wasnt in immediate reach of a bathroom#i went though two. years. of 'bladder retraining' therapy#which is MEANT to retune you into signals or whatever so you know you need to pee with a fucking resonable amount of warning#spoiler: it did not do this#it did not improve the signalling at all whatsoever#what it DID do was develop the necessary strength and control to become doubled over with sudden OH GOD RIGHT NOW pee pain#BUT be able to hold it off for 5-10 min if necessary#which to the adults around me was a success bc it looked like i knew how to pee properly now#i don't. i just know how to NOT pee MYSELF and make it embarrassing. difference.#look man i'm 33 presumably there will literally never be a point in my life where i will know 'oh i kinda need to pee' an hour before#i will always be playing Highway To The Danger Zone every day forever#i just live like this#CHRIST it's so FUCKING annoying though#i mean this applies to all functions i have no internal signalling for anything until it is Super Right Now Urgent#my body notify me of anything at all ever challenge (impossible)#god if this aint the most annoying one though

I contact that person. nothing still#mind you I've tried calling this place multiple times. nothing#and I know this isn't some scam place but fuck do they NEED to work on their Not-In-Person communication#anyways. she emails me again saying she's off medical leave and what's a good time to call#I tell her 11:30 today. a few days ago. and I'm still sitting here.#I swear to god#if I wasn't desperate to get out of retail I'd tell her to suck shit

I love your monthly wrap up posts! The latest one (where I’m currently devouring and agreeing with the article about Ted talks) has made me wonder whether you have a specific method of tracking what you’ve read / watched that month and your thoughts about them?
I keep running lists for each month on a Tot tab adding to it as I go along.
For books I cross off my TBRs on Listography, and I've been keeping up with tracking my current read and what I've read on StoryGraph and Literal. I'm not sure I'll keep them up in the long term, both definitely aren't needed, but I can't decide which I prefer at the moment. I also keep a Notion database with book notes I've taken while reading.
For articles I have a separate Notion database of quotes from one's I really liked, but there's a high bar for entry, perhaps one or two of what I've read from the monthly lists and some months none at all. I have the same thing for Podcasts, though that may die as I'm still working out if I'm really into them or not.

oughhhhh medical system.
#i do not have Medications. i do not have Treatments. but i have Bills. why the Bills but not the Treatments. i called. i emailed.#today i have been in the drs office for 42 minutes waiting to be seen#I haven't been able to fill a narcolepsy med (critical to my ability to exist) since jan 20#i made 2 phone calls to insurance and 2 to the doctor and 2 to the pharmacy and noooooo drugs for me#gotta call again today#prior auth expired and nobody has fixed this yet or notified me#until i went to the pharmacy in person and asked#when i sprained my wrist and needed a brace the technician forming the brace kept taking his hand off it to text on his apple watch#this only takes 2 minutes dude. please. it can wait#the doctor couldn't show me the results of the mri and called me in for an appointment to tell mw there was nothing wrong.#this could have been a voicemail but instead it took an hour and also cost money#didn't even answer things like 'which tendon is affected' when i asked#also a different doctor misbilled me for an extra $135 and i had to make several emails and four phone calls and it's still not fixed#but they charged the card on file while I had an active dispute of the charge and haven't refunded it#this is just so exhausting!#and i have really good insurance thru work and no life-threatening conditions and i have enough meds stockpiled to last a little longer.#and YET#yet it still makes me want to get crushed in a hydraulic press a little bit#that a med I have used for five years that previously had a multi-year prior auth can just disappear off the face of the earth#and no one warned me#no notification about the prior auth about to expire#no alert that i needed to renew it#I didn't even know they could expire#boy i die. shit boy

OKAY YAY I organized my hours worked spreadsheet so I know for sure my job isn't doing wage theft (tbh didn't think they were, but still... no way I'm gonna trust a company like that) and nowwww I feel so much more organized on what is actually going on with my employment situation so I can call medicaid tomorrow and give them the deets 😵💫
#...after my doctor's appointment ofc#I'm doing it like a week or so later than I should've but my own boss said they only update medicaid once a year and it's fine??#I was like okaaaaaayyyy I'm not gonna do that but I still feel bad about being depressed and not meeting the deadlines they say lol#honestly if they kick me off it would be fine cause I was on a marketplace plan before so I can just go back to that#and they actually covered my shit too#....I might still be below the max income for medicaid tho so we'll see#also related to my job I looked up The Law and if they try to dock my pay for that stolen accessory I know it is ✨illegal✨#nothing like that is in the onboarding paperwork so they can't claim they have my consent in writing#and they are REQUIRED by their own internal procedures to give notice if they're docking it from my commission#... which I don't earn anyway cause our store's numbers are bad#but YEAH idk what the manager was talking about to my other coworker.. as of rn all I know is I haven't been notified of anything#but anyways they better not try it 🗡️#I know my rights!!!!!!#to the void
