Okay so since there have been a lot of asks lately and some of them are clogging the blog page slightly (I love answering them don't get me wrong here) I decided to finally organize stuff, edit old posts and add proper tags to them XD

The relationship between Hope and Knives but also Hope and Elendira is so important 2 me.

Hope sees Knives as a threatening figure, yet one of comfort— the little comfort she can get after Knives took her in. For two years she wholeheartedly believed his words because, in the end, she felt like he just wanted the best for her— and the worst part being that he did. Knives cares a lot about Rapier/Hope, an independent like him, someone who could share his vision. Without really wanting it, he cared too much and made Rapier into a deeply hateful person, because that what he thought would be best for her wellbeing, and their future.

When Rapier ends up going out on her own without telling him anything, he's scared and heartbroken, he lost someone again. The fact she remains hidden for a while began to slowly make him think she ended up like Vash, a lost cause, and when he sees her again, it's not the Rapier he knew.

Both tries to convince eachother of the other's viewpoint, but it's fruitless— Knives feels like the daughter he had was no more, stolen by his brother, and Rapier felt like she lost him to his madness, unable to recognise the man that she once saw as rational and level-headed. She runs away. Knives is alone again.

They eventually make peace though, at the turn of a street, after the dust had settled down; faithful meeting. Knives avoid confronting Hope at first, his past actions still lingering behind him like a shadow, but Hope? Hope wants closure. She has matured, realising a lot of things about herself, and him— and them. So they talk. Hope tells him how he hurt her, scared her, but how she also knows he cared, and that all she wants is to see him be better— and even help him be better. In the end, they try to travel with eachother again, it's awkward, it's not perfect, but thehre trying. Because they missed eachother.

Elendira is like the other side of the coin, I think. Despite Elendira's generally cold appearance, Hope felt a sense of comfort in the figure of a woman— despite Elendira being anything but motherly. Hope was so scared of everyone at first, it was Elendira who ended up looking after her, despite how little she wanted to. Their relationship was always very distant, specifically from Elendira's end. There wasn't any sort of affection, the two were really just coworkers, even if Rapier clung to her a lot.

Elendira isn't heartless, though. She sees the little girl grow and learn, and she warms up to her. They do end up talking fashion and weaponry a lot, Elendira especially likes how fightsy Rapier became! Rapier, on the other end, admired Elendira's skills and found her charismatic, she was an idol, from style to skills. Small gestures like giving Rapier a new coat based on hers, or helping her cut her hair made the day of the independent. They were few and far between, though. They spent the rest of their time making small talk when one or the other where in the same room.

Elendira wasa role model to Rapier, one that inspired her to go out on her own and prove her skills— which ended up in her being shot. Elendira wasn't exactly that worried, Rapier was a plant afterall, she could handle herself.

Once Hope heard that Elendira would have to be fought in order to save humanity, she had a hard time, though. Suddenly the person she admired slowly became an enemy��� someone to kill, even in the eyes of the person who showed her compassion after she tried to kill Vash. It was horrible, having to make peace with the idea that someone you once loved and almost considered family was never a good person. Again. Seeing Elendira's lifeless body after all of this was a shock.

Eventually, Hope made peace with it, although she still wants to honor Elendira's memory through her own fashion, counting the story of a fearsome woman who was known to fight with nothing but nails.

This is mult. fandom related and I'm 25 and have been on Tumblr for approx 10 years so I'm not speaking as someone new to either Tumblr or fandom spaces

AITA for reporting art and fic as spam when it's tagged as something else in a tag I'm searching for?

This applies to many fandoms I'm in not just one so I feel no need to list them since it's not like personal beef or fandom specific drama but basically as I'm sure many people do when I want to see fan art or even the occasional fic for my favorite character I'll go into their character tag via Tumblr search, it's one of the few things I enjoy about this website is it's semi functional tagging and search system. But more often and usually lately I've been finding a lot of stuff in say character A tag that doesn't have character A in it, it's a drawing of character B that's been tagged with the main fandom tag, B, and every other main character. I know its so the art or fic gets more views but it's annoying ESPECIALLY if it's fic because not to generalize but fics tagged like that usually dont have a read more either so I have to scroll past this massive block of text that's not only a fic I'm not interested in, but one that's incorrectly tagged for a character I'm trying to find content of so they're the ones I tend to report as spam the most over art which is easier to scroll past ill admit

Even on ao3 it's a feux pas to tag characters that just "appear" if they're not central to the fic so they already shouldn't be tagging any character mentioned in their fic

This USUALLY tends to happen with people's oc posts as well and nothing against OCs they're just not my thing and if I were in the main tag I'd happily scroll by since I recognize their place but just like the other two I'll notice it's just a drawing of someone's oc or their OC's profile and it's tagged with the full main cast, thus showing up in the character I'm looking for's tag

Or character x readers and character A (and C, D, E, F, etc) will be tagged on a B x reader fic, obviously I have no interest in reading a fic like that especially when again the entire cast has been tagged not because they appear in the fic but for engagement

Also I'm not dumb I filter for fandoms so like if the tag I'm in is just "Steve" obviously I know it'll apply to multiple fandoms like Minecraft or avengers since that's a super nonspecific name/tag I'm talking about deliberate tagging within the same fandom

I also don't report the post if they're like "this is my OC his name is James Bond" obviously that's gonna show up in like the James Bond tag which while more specific would not count as spam since that's still a proper tag that would apply, it's the OC's name that just happens to be the name of another character

So, while I don't feel bad because I find these people annoying since they're obviously tagging things like I mentioned on purpose for attention but on the other hand I feel a little guilty because fan art and fan fic is important to any fandom but just, that is one of the definitions of a spam post is something improperly tagged on purpose

TLDR: I report posts in my favorite character's tag as spam when they don't have my favorite character but are tagged with them because they clog up the actual tag with garbage

Note: Kind of based on real experiences, kind of not. Feel free to imagine whoever you want with this! I didn't really have any character in mind, i just wanted to write something angsty lol. Also no tags cuz i'm not really expecting anything out of this and i don't wanna clog the x reader tags.

Everyone was at her wedding. Everyone important at least.

On one table you see her main family, her beloved parents and dear siblings. On another, you see her friends. Her friends that were never your friends, but you've heard much about them. They've been through thick and thin together, a friend group not so big but so fulfilling.

You didn't sit with them since you weren't a friend from middle school. What kind of friend were you that you ended up sitting with her only three college friends?

The kind that she met on a Sunday afternoon at the park you both frequent. The kind with a love unreciprocated.

Small talks in the park wasn't supposed to end with you crying and her buying you ice cream, but it did. With each word you exchanged, the gap between you snipped away. It didn't have to be every Sunday, you saw her when you saw her at that same spot.

You were always so happy to see her. She may not realize it but what a breath of fresh air she was to you. With her, you could start all over. With her, she did not need to know the uglier parts of your past. With her, you let your hair down.

Who better to trust than a stranger, right?

But you failed to expect the unexpected. You should have known, with all the times you'd met, the day you exchange numbers would come eventually. Overjoyed, you were. Of course you were.

She was no longer just a pretty stranger since that day. You looked at her with a sparkling gaze whenever she spoke of herself, a gaze she claimed was very cute, but does she know she planted the stars in your eyes?

Your lips stretch across your face and part into a grin when she says something funny. You let it happen without a care for the crookedness of your teeth, and she doesn't mind them at all. She actually really liked it, she admitted. That day, you decided against getting braces again for good.

Then it happens—the day you talk about your relationships finally happen. The day you've been both looking forward to and dreading. Looking forward to because who wouldn't want to know about their crush's love life? And dreading because you didn't like to prepare yourself for when she says the word–

"Boyfriend."

Alright, you thought. There's this guy she likes and she really wants to make a move on him, but she's too shy. Don't express disappointment, that's not what a good friend does. Don't confess your feelings for her either, that'll ruin your friendship.

"You said he seems to like you, just go for it then. You're really pretty and cool, who would ever say no to you?"

And oh, how painful it was. How painful it was to force a smile around her for the very first time. How painful it was to see her blush at your words, your compliments, and still have someone else in mind. How painful it was to see her so happy at your encouragement. And oh, how painful it was for you to pretend to be happy for her.

It's okay though. You were good at pretending up until the moment you met her—you can do it again, right? It seemed like you still got it. You were convincing enough that, oh no, she was going to update you on how it went.

You suppose it went very well, considering the fact that you now sat at their wedding. Eating delicious food, but no amount of ice cream for dessert could cool your nerves. No amount of small talk with her college friends could distract you from the way her smile beamed and lit up the whole room. No amount of water could get rid of the sick feeling you get in your stomach when you see the way the bride and groom look at each other. With eyes that sparkled, sparks that they planted in each other's eyes.

It really made you wonder, is that how I looked whenever I was with her?

Perhaps you've been pretending for too long. You used to always have her undivided attention and now here you were, sat amongst people who were happy for the newly wedded couple. It's been too long and decidedly, you were tired. Such a spacious room yet so suffocating. So you got up while you could, you got up and left while the guests played games together to compete for prize money in red envelopes.

Your feet took you to the garden outside and it may look different from the park, but it felt a bit familiar. Sitting on a bench but this time, you were on your own.

I'm happy for her, you repeated in your head.

You were happy enough just being by her side, having long talks till one of you decided it was about time they went home. It was usually her, since you didn't mind staying longer to talk more. You were happy keeping your affections to yourself as long as you could still see her. Being friends with her was enough. Even after she got a boyfriend, as long as your conversations steered away from him, you thought you were happy.

She doesn't have to like me, I just want to be by her side.

Even now as you saw a person in white—the only person in white—approach you with a worried look, you were happy.

"Why would the bride come looking for me herself? The guests need your presence," you chuckled, breaking into a smile.

"I just felt the need to, no one else here knows you," she said, and for once you don't respond to her. You look away, unsure if her being here made you uneasy or calm.

She let you. She let you avoid her gaze, she let you remain wordless. But one thing she wouldn't let you do is be troubled. So she sat next to you on the bench, giving you a soft nudge.

"What's wrong?" She asked. The two words spilling out of her mouth poking at you like a key to a door. Behind that door was nothing but an overwhelming wave of your tears.

She hardly panicked when she saw you broke into tears, burying your face into the palm of your hands. Her own hand making its way around your shoulder, embracing you into a side hug, rubbing softly. Even now that she's married, dressed in white, and all you wore was an evening dress, your heart fluttered at her touch. You leaned in closer, even if it hurts. You leaned in closer, even if it meant letting the knife stab deeper into your wound.

"Nothing's wrong," you finally muttered, wiping the tears from your cheeks, only for them to come falling out again.

"I don't believe you."

Of course she'd say that, you thought as you chuckled to yourself. You felt kind of bad now as you looked up to meet her eyes, so full of concern for her good friend. On a day that was supposed to be full of smiles, free of worry.

So you tell her, "I'm just so happy for you." The words spill out, accompanied by more tears and eyebrows knitted from trying to keep them at bay.

She didn't say anything, and the worry never left her. Her eyes searched yours for any sign of what you had claimed to be joy.

If you were so happy, why did you look so sad?

If these were tears of joy, where was your attempt at a smile or laughter in between sobs?

She knows how you cry tears of joy, you couldn't mask it from her. You couldn't even when her heart belongs to another. Your heart belonged to her. She knew it well, she knew you well.

So you finally found it in you to reach for her. You reached for her cheeks, caressing reassuringly with a cold thumb—slightly damp from wiping your tears.

"I really am happy for you. So stop worrying about me," you said before someone calling out to the bride in the distance reached your ears. "They're looking for you. You go on ahead, I'll be back soon. I promise."

She grabbed your hand on her cheek, squeezing it as she looked back to where the voice came from. "Okay," she nodded firmly, getting up from the bench. "I love you," she said first, and you always let her say it first because it has no deeper meaning when she does.

"I love you too."

Okay, so I've noticed this trend in SK8 fics that kind of bothers me, so I just wanna get my thoughts out there.

I personally headcanon Reki as asexual and Langa as aromantic, and I like the idea of them being in a qpr, so I did a search on Ao3 for works with the appropriate tags to see if anyone else had written for that. I did find a few works that I really liked, but unfortunately for my search, a lot of the works to come up were being tagged for aroace Miya. Now, I wanna be perfectly clear. I have absolutely no problem with an aroace Miya headcanon, or with people writing for it. The problem is, it seems follows this trend that I noticed in a fandom before. Which is, a character being headcanoned as aroace not because of canon characterization or a desire to just write a character you like as aroace, but to keep them out of shipping.

To be clear again, I'm not saying I want everyone to suddenly start shipping Miya more. But this mentality bothers me for three main reasons.

It clogs up search results. Most of these fics tagged with aroace Miya aren't ABOUT Miya being aroace, or even Miya in general. He's a side character to the main pairing, and his sexuality is just thrown in there. While this isn't BAD, it does mean people filtering for aro or ace fics will get a fic about a traditionally romantic pair instead of what they searched for.

Aroace characters can be shipped?? Unless it's explicitly canon that a character is aroace and has no desire for any sort of partnering, aroace headcanons could be about all sorts of places under the umbrella, including those who experience some sort of attraction, or who want to have a partner. So if the goal is to keep him out of the ship sphere, being aroace doesn't do that.

Just. Don't ship him with anyone. It's that simple. If you don't want to pair Miya with anyone, don't do it. You don't need to make him aroace in a way that doesn't actually explore aromanticism or asexuality.(That's not to say that every time a character has a marginalized identity, the story needs to thoroughly explore it to justify it being there, this is just talking about patterns in the community, not any one fic in particular.)

I guess if anyone reads this and cares, my request would just to be put side character barely-even-mentioned aroace Miya in the notes instead of the tags. It's frustrating to be looking for fics exploring aro or ace themes and finding something else.

And. I mean. Just. You don't have to make a character aroace to keep them out of shipping. He's like 13, it's not like he's dating anyone anyway.

it's just not that serious???? i wasn't old enough to come into fandom when it was like all LJ and stuff, but I DID come in when fanfic.net was in its heyday and had all of four tags to tell you about the fic. Even when I was younger and didn't understand why people wrote about certain things/didn't like certain ships or tropes I just. Scrolled past? Minded my own business? Let people enjoy things they liked?

The main tag thing really got me. I normally don't argue with people because it's generally a waste of time, but if you're gonna start clogging up main tags with your bullshit opinions about what people write, I'm gonna tell you to knock it off 😂

It's also baffling to me because of the fact that tumblr and ao3 both have pretty extensive tagging systems. ao3 now lets you mute people and you can exclude as many tags as you don't want to see to curate the stuff you want to read. You can blacklist tags and words on tumblr. Antis and purity culture teens now would never survive fanfic.net or Quotev or LJ or any of the sites where you were essentially going in mostly blind.

ANYWAY this has been a long reply but YES I am also driven by creativity and spite and enjoy writing things I want when I can't find them. I will have so much fun making this hunk suffer and I hope you have equally as much fun with your own fandoms/writing!! 💜

Some comments I didn't wanna clog up the main post with:

I've gone back and forth in the past on whether I want Simmons to have ginger or med brown hair but for this I just met in the middle with... reddish brown. I also went back and forth on whether or not to give him glasses but ended up preferring him without, at least in this drawing. I think it'd be funny if he has blue eyes and that's the main reason he doesn't get promoted.

Sarge is mostly the same but I finally figured out what his design has been missing: a mustache. Very manly.

Long-haired Grif HCs are cool but I always thought of him as having a short haircut that he just doesn't really maintain. He could probably grow a full beard but that would take too much work to keep up with. He shaves and gets haircuts just often enough to keep up the scraggly look.

Gave Kai a partial shave and more makeup compared to before; I wanted to incorporate both yellow and blue. Also a nose ring bc it just seemed like something she would do. She's probably got a tongue piercing also.

If you walk into a trendy gay club on a busy night you can see about 12 people who look exactly like Donut.

Gave Wash his post-S13 beard. I used to HC him as natural blonde but I liked the faded look so I guess he bleaches his hair now.

I like to give Tex multiple ear piercings. I don't think she wears a lot of makeup, if at all, but I like to have her eyelashes match Lina's.

No real changes to Tucker either; I'm pretty happy with my og design for him. I make sure to keep up those "striking metrosexual good looks".

Changed Doc's hairstyle a bit.

Gave Caboose more facial hair.

No changes to Church either. I like to think his glasses rims are blue but I didn't draw it with enough detail to convey that.

I drew Lina like she is in PFL but I like to think that post-S10 she crops her hair short. I'll draw her like that at some point. I also make sure she has a blend of Church and Tex's features.

I haven't drawn any of the other characters often enough to have solid facecanons for them (excluding the ones with, well, canon faces), but maybe I'll draw them eventually. Like I said in my og tags I don't think Lopez has a face but it might be fun to gijinka him anyways at some point.

If I haven’t replied in over a month I probably lost our thread or it’s sitting in my drafts and I haven’t noticed it, so please message me to remind me about it. I won’t be annoyed or upset. I drop RPs sometimes out of a loss of interest but please don’t blame yourself. It is always a personal thing that has nothing to do with anyone else as a roleplayer. I’m always happy to write more regardless of dropping previous threads.

I generally like to plot through tumblr IMs or discord. I will say though, i do struggle a bit with plotting and tend to prefer random interaction on the dash or through memes, at least just to feel out a dynamic. HOWEVER, if you've got an idea or really wanna plot, ofc just message me!! even if it's not my preference i'm still down to rub those brain cells together and brainstorm.

i have a few mains, but for the foreseeable future i do not see myself exclusively writing with only one of a character. i like to write and really don't wanna be limited with that. mains are prioritized when it comes to answers and drafts, and in random ic posts on the dash (non-threads), they'll be who i refer to in her "main" verse.

where RP is concerned i heavily prioritize chemistry. for now, my blog is multi-ship, so any relationships my muse develops will take place in separate verses unless stated otherwise. i'm not opposed to making pre-established dynamics, especially for au plots. i find that can be really fun. honestly, if we talk and something sounds exciting i'll be up for it lol. i just don't want something forced out of nowhere. flirting between muses is fine. for deku muses: i do write ochako with a crush on him in mind, but obviously i won't force the ship. it's just her canon crush!

DON'T involve me with drama OR send messages telling me to reblog callout posts or anything like that. i don't care for getting involved with petty roleplay drama. if it's something actually serious, i've already seen it on the dash and taken note. seriously, i will hardblock, anyone that pesters me with this nonsense. for personal blogs: please do not follow/like/reblog my posts. doing so will result in an immediate block.

Hi bestie! I've got some questions about organizing a writing tumblr blog etc and I hope you can help me? I soooo depreately want to start writing fics and publish them on tumblr but I feel like I should try and organize my site first? that feels like it's something that needs to be done beforehand and I'm like "do I need a masterlist link already?" but idk if it's worth it to set one up when I just post one fic at first bc I don't wanna spam my prewrittten fics in the first day :( any tip helps

when I started fanfic, I didn't post a masterlist straight away, though I recommend that you do. It's much easier to have it straight away and link it as you post! Make sure to make a navigation post, even if there's not a lot on there at first, and link it to your bio. On there can be your 'about me' , 'masterlist' , 'requesting rules' if you choose to open them, and so on.

I recommend having a nice theme, it just makes your blog more inviting and lets people know it's not just another Tumblr blog but one where original content is posted.

Also yeah, it's probably not great to post your pre-written fics all at once so, if it works for you and you can keep to a schedule, (I can't but lately I've been trying to) then I recommend creating a schedule before you post including the time you'll post each day (I do between 5-7 BST) and when you'll do your timezone reblog(s).

if you're wanting to organise what's already on your blog, and if you haven't already, I would tag all your posts/reblogs. It's good to have a tagging system to keep organised. So when I reblog a gifset or edit, I'll tag it--for instance #Ginny Weasley, #Harry Potter , #[ queue tag]--which makes everything easy to find, especially when people are searching your blog.

you might want to have tags for things like answering asks, your shitposts, when you reblog fics etc etc. A queue tag is good too because it lets people know when you're offline but it also keeps your blog active.

Tag your fics correctly too, but not as things it doesn't relate to. So,,,don't tag a Ron fic as Fred Weasley x reader, it will clog up the tags and people will get angry when they see it. Even if Fred features in the fic, just don't tag his character because he isn't the main interest.
