I was browsing a tag (i know i shouldn’t do that) and i read an old post nerding about ancient civilisations and parallels with FE16 which made me glee bcs i love to nerd about history

But then i was disappointed

Important Agarthans seem to have greek names (?) so they could be ancient greece, okay why not (the superiority complex over the rest of the world feels adequate but then idk if Socrates (Soloncrates?) would call actual humans beasts or not).

But then it was affirmed that Rhea, not the Nabateans, but Rhea, was Ancient Rome (Romea?). She 1) razed the Agarthans, 2) expanded the Church in the continent and 3) allied with Wilhelm of Adrestia and later Loog who represents the various germanic tribes.

Which made me raise an eyebrow.

1) I’ve already posted earlier about the Sothis/Agartha war but here it seems a bit odd to single out Rhea amidst her people for having rekt Agartha when it was, at most, a collective action of several Nabateans, regardless of the fact that Rhea may or not have participated in the first war.

Also, in FE16, the Nabateans gave their technology to Agarthans, who in turn developed it and turned against them. Ancient Rome was tsun-tsun with their greek neighbours, but it is now commonly accepted that the first romans tried to “copy” or at least were heavily inspired by Ancient Greece to build a national identity. I mean Virgil even wrote a poem to make a Trojan ancestor to what would later become the roman people, and that’s not talking about how the old Roman pantheon borrowed the Greek one but with aliases worse than Danved and Devdan...

In FE16, “Greece” actually borrowed/received their technology from “Rome” but tried to attack “Rome” and failed. “Rome” retaliated, destroyed “Greece” to the point where romans don’t even know what “Greece” was and can only make suppositions about its existence.

This doesn’t match RL history.

2) Expanding the Church in the continent : this is actually speculation, but afaik, when Adrestia conquered the continent, its religion would have automatically been spread? Still, comparing the Church of Seiros to another religion starting with a C doesn’t really work.

Adrestia was founded by a dude who had been annointed by Seiros herself. The Church, or at least Seiros and her pals, already existed before the Empire. Constantine the Great was the first Emperor to convert to christianity, but he was not the founder of Rome! Christianity became a “state” religion after Constantine. Heck, Julian thought his uncle’s religion was lousy so he returned to a polytheist cult.

In FE16, the only schism between Adrestia (the Empire) and the Church happened after the Southern Church was expelled, giving a good 1000 years of church approved Empire.

Saying Romea expanded the reach of the church through out all of Fodlan isn’t wrong, iirc part of the mediation accepting the Kingdom’s existence is to allow the church to preach in the newly formed kingdom, but i’m not sure it could be tied to RL history, because in Fodlan, Wilhelm walked side by side with Jesus, and Jesus crowned him Emperor. Jesus won against Nemesis. Adrestia’s legitimacy/creation comes from Jesus.

So I don’t think it’s Rhea expanding the reach of the Church through Fodlan, but more Seiros is part of the Empire’s lore, she’s that actual saintly figure who defeated the strongest man ever so everywhere in the Empire tales of Seiros and her deeds are heard of, it makes sense to follow/buy her story.

Also, if the “religion” the church of Seiros preaches is the rewritten history, people must have “converted” after the unification of Fodlan and yet, if Seirosism is the state religion, and the state is controlling Fodlan, can we say Romea expanded her religion through the continent, or Fodlan, after being conquered by Adrestia, automatically became Seirosist?

It would actually echo the bid to allow the Church to preach in the newly formed Faerghus, if Loog wanted to fig off Adrestia, he might even want to have a different religion than the one from the Empire he came from, hell, the Kingdom even returned to the former naming practices existing before Adrestia.

The Church would have wanted to make sure that no matter what Loog was doing with his bunch of humans in the North, he would still believe crests are a gift from the goddess, they shouldn’t be misused and if you ever find Macuil don’t murder him to make weapons out of his body.

short story long story : it’s the story of the egg and the chicken, did Seirosism became the leading religion in the continent because Rhea actively preached around, or because it was Adrestia’s state religion? idk.

3) Rome “allied” (well, TC said Rome lorded and traded with germanic tribes until shit hit the fan) with germanic tribes. They could be traded with. But they were not roman citizens. I’m not that well versed in this part of the Roman Empire (even if some part of France was classified as Germania at that time! RIP Franche-Comté T-T). Thing is, Rome never asked for Germania’s help to defeat some enemy, hell, when barbarians invasions happened, it hit Germania first and then Rome.

This is where the Romea analogy falls.

First of all, Wilhelm became Wilhelm of Adrestia thanks to Seiros who annointed/crowned him, without Seiros there is no Adrestia. (iirc in one of Seiros’ books it is said Seiros makes emperors out of men, and the tradition needs the archbishop to bear witness each time a new emperor is crowned, so i suppose Rhea crowned/proclamed/anointed/made Wilhelm an Emperor).

Rome never had that kind of influence (afaik?) on the various germanic tribes.

Before Adrestia we had Enbarr and, I guess, several tribes. As I see it (it may be wrong!) Adrestia is made to mirror Rome, sort of. Wilhelm “of Adrestia” set out to conquer unify the world. Now, did Seiros told him to conquer the world or did he came to that conclusion alone, we will never know. And yet, in the time period we’re speaking of (antiquity?), there’s no “Germanic Empire”. Adrestia started as an unified state, not as several tribes. Adrestia thus cannot be likened to “germanic tribes”.

Second, Loog did not receive help from Rhea, but it’s implied (still it’s from the shadow library so i’m not holding it against the TC) he received help from Mole People.

But from what we know, in the Vanilla game, Loog defeated the Emperor of Adrestia. It is during the aftermath that the Empire, House Charon and the Church negotiated and decided Loog could found his Kingdom. I do not see how Rhea “allied” with the guy, nor, again, what kind of germanic tribe he represents given how he actually got his independance from the Empire to create his own Kingdom.

Then we have another set of facts which are less about history and more about the game, but for the history ones :

Romea cannot 4) enforce the will of the Church and Western branch rebelling mirrors Rome’s western’s provinces being unruly and Romea gradually losing grasp on Adrestia 5) The Church isn’t completely sacked but still remains in CF to mirror Rome’s “gradual” fall/out of powerlessness (for funsies 6) Edel and the Agarthans make Rome face what they did to Greece and represent the germanic tribes coming after Rome after they managed to free themselves from its influence)

4) Unless I’m mistaken, the most occidental border of the Empire was the Atlantic Ocean? astérix is a product of french chauvinism

Northern borders were more problematic, we had Hadrian’s Wall to keep Picts at bay and in the 3rd century the “Saxon Shore” to fend off against invaders coming by the sea.

Of course around this time there was an important crisis that weakened the Empire, so it might explain why there was unrest everywhere. This crisis saw the birth of the Western Gallic Empire, but also of the Eastern Palmyrene Empire (everyone was happy when Diocletian unified the empire afterwards). After, let’s say, 300ish, the Empire, in general, had difficulties to deal with and keep its borders.

Back to FE, the western church rebelling is actually at odds with Rome, because when it comes to religious stuff, the eastern provinces were the most concerned/active, not the western ones (1st council of nicea was made because of the arian controversy (The Son and the Father are the same entity or not? Discuss) in the eastern provinces).

Apparently, the Western Church rebels because they don’t like/follow the creed of the Central Church, but if we wanted to keep the Rome analogy, it should have been the Eastern church rebelling. From what we see, it is not because they follow another religion, but they have a difference in doctrine (but then it is muddled because mole people, otoh, it is never said that the western church thinks seiros is a hax or the goddess doesn’t exist, they want to claim lands on behalf of Saint Cichol which means they adhere, at least, to the main dogma about saints) and really don’t like Rhea for some reason. tbh i think some “germanic tribes” converted to arianism but they weren’t the theologists who theorised it

Central Church lost its grasp on Adrestia in 1065 (iirc?) when the southern branch was expelled. Idk if everything was fine and dandy before, but given how Rhea oversaw the construction of Garreg Mach after the WoH and tried to resurrect Sothis with the Chalice, I’d say she already said “peace i’m out” to Adrestia and would just be there for some ceremonies (crowning/being a witness for new emperors i suppose).

I’ve said it earlier, but Adrestia is not supposed to represent the “germanic tribes”, Adrestia is Rome. Adrestia having german names could also mean that the devs were lazy because Gaius Claudius isn’t a funky name, but the HRE was situated in western-central europe. Edel’s rebellion against the central church could mirror HRE and the Reformation, save for the fact that Edel dgaf about the goddess bcs humanity doesn’t need gods or something. So the analogy doesn’t really work...

5) Coming to which, CF!Church is not anything like Seirosism or, i suppose, the former Sothisism cult. Various bloggers already tore this take apart, but the “Church” in post CF-Fodlan seems to be less spiritual and more of an organisation which is overseen by the Emperor.

I mean, if Edel says humans don’t need gods, what is the Church supposed to do? Fodlan has a cult? A religion? Faith? Faith in what? People are supposed to be free to chose what to believe in, but it is clear that “humans” don’t need gods, so what? You can believe in whatever you want, but not in Sothis because we don’t need her, and fig to the children of the Goddess or fig you if you’re still a follower of Seirosism? Rome still exists nowadays as a capital of a living country, I cannot affirm the Church exists, or if whatever the church of Seiros did is still maintained.

Also, “Rome” as in the Roman Empire (kind of) survived with the Byzantine Empire and the HRE. I don’t think offshoots of the Church of Seiros would be allowed to prosper in CF’s Fodlan.

6) :)

I cannot remember if Romea’s people (well a civilisation cannot have brethrens it’s not a being!) were turned into various weapons by Socrates and Plato (if they had been blacksmiths i’d have been more interested in philosophy classes i swear) but as far as i know Edel’s Adrestia didn’t wage war against Romea because of her conquests or what she did to Soloncrates/Ancient Greece, nope or to free Adrestia from Romea (especially since Adrestia got rid of the church since 1065). Edel wants to conquer the world and change the “system” in place.

Bonus : About names, yes, the devs validated the “Adrestia is both rome and germany combined” which is as WTF as it seems, and yet, last Emperor from the HRE was named Francis II with his birth name being Franz Joseph Karl which is very far removed from, idk, Trajan being Marcus Ulpius Trajanus. I don’t think the devs thought a lot about names tbh, still, if Emperor Wilhelm might sound “german” and yet his second name Paul, is latin (paulus) so idk. Ionius was apparently a name used in Rome?

RPING COMPANY

Alright this is gonna sound strange and I've never done this before but now I'm starting to get a little desperate 💁‍♀️

Is there anyone wanting to create a roleplay in RDR Universe? I'd love to, but during the years I've lost my old role-playing buddies due to, well, adulthood and adulthood busyness. I'm pretty much up to anything in this point.

I'm a she/her and 26 years old; my only requirement for you is to not to be a minor. I live in Finland and Finnish is my first language so my English is not P E R F E C T, only almost so.

I'm gonna copy/paste a little example of my writing down here, so if you are even a little intrigued, please hmu in here, or Instagram @feainneweddd.

Example:

"I really don't see any reason for you to sit on your ass here no more, Mr. Morgan", the doctor smiled and handed Arthur his weary black hat hanging on the wall. The doctor's office was plain and simple, walls were dark wood and the floor had seen better days - it probably had been white at the start, but had been dirtied to the point of no return along the years and years of patients and doctors walking in and out.

"The bronchitis you had was one of the worst cases I've seen in my life, and it got only worse due to the wrong diagnosis my colleague assigned to you. With proper medication your near death experience would've been avoidable.", the man sighed and scratched his neck, sitting down on a chair by Arthur's bed. "But here you are, even I had little to none hopes in your recovery. And you're free to go."

Arthur breathed - actually breathed - in the hot and stuffy air of Saint Denis harborside. Air in his lungs hurt no more, and he almost felt how his blood sucked up the tiny oxygen cells. The sun was shining low, he could breathe, he would be okay. He would live - it felt odd, since the last three months he'd thought his life was coming to an end. Arthur had already made his peace with death, and now he'd have to start living again. How, though? Arthur watched the people passing by in silence and wondered if he could some day be like them, again.

Couple days turned into a couple of weeks, Arthur had gone back to Beaver Hollow and found the money the gang had had to abandon there - nobody else couldn't get to it, since Abigail had given Arthur the key to the huge chest. Now, when the Pinkertons weren't guarding the place any more, retrieving the money had been easy. Arthur planned on sharing it with the remaining members of Van Der Linde gang, if he ever could find them. The thought of Charles hurt Arthur to the core. Was he alive? Rosalinda? John? Karen? Sean? He'd have to find them. Or would he? What if they'd already got on with their lives, would it be better for Arthur to just.. Stay dead to them? He never had thought very highly of himself; he was a highwayman, a murderer, a cretin and a crook. What sick twist of fate had decided to let him live instead of all the men he'd killed?

Clouds on the sky dampened out the sunlight and Arthur shivered in the sudden cold blow of wind. The cold air came in from the sea, and Arthur shifted in the chair he'd occupied on the saloon's terrace. Lately, he'd been fond of watching and observing people, like he'd have to learn how to be one again. He felt like death still had a grip of him, even if physically he was as healthy as a cowboy in his 40's could be. Not exactly the picture of health, but not dying anyday soon either. He had thought of Charles. The dark, serious, bulk of a young man, whose sense of humour was pretty much nonexistent most of days and his gaze that would burn too Arthur's skull most times. Arthur thought of the times they'd go hunting together, Charles sitting by the fire, and telling Arthur about his people. His mother's tribe, their customs and thoughts of life. They were beautiful thoughts and ways to see things. Arthur hoped, that maybe one day Charles would teach him to think like that too. If he'd ever find the younger man anymore, of course. He would have to find him. Them. All of them. But Charles whereabouts were the only ones he had a sense of. He had stayed in the North, with the Wapiti Indians, after the Chief's - Rain Falls they called him - son had been killed by the army. Arthur had been there too, but he had to leave for the rest of the gang. That was the last time he'd seen Charles, and it'd been months.

Arthur sighed - he actually could breathe deep out without starting to choke - and leaned forward to pat Torque's neck. The man had had to buy a new horse after what happened to Gunsmoke when they we're running from the Pinkertons. The black shire stallion snorted and stomped the ground under his hooves as an answer to Arthur's sighs. A beautiful beast, although slightly testy. He'd come around when they'd get to know each other better.

Arthur had ridden almost two full days now. From Saint Denis to Emerald Ranch, and pressing towards North, towards Three Sisters and O'Creagh's Run.

Arthur let the horse pick the speed they were going - super slow - and let his head lull from side to side. Would Charles still be with the Wapitis? Would he even want to see Arthur? Would he-- would Arthur finally be able to confess his feelings to the younger man? Earlier he didn't, because they'd known too little time. After that he thought he was dying, so confessing would've been pretty much only painful and unnecessary. But now?

But what if Charles didn't feel the same?

Arthur raised his gaze to the sky and roughly estimated the amount of remaining daylight. He would not want to camp the night on a Murfree territory - the inbred maniacs were creepy and dangerous enough in the light of the day. Arthur kicked Torque's sides lightly and told him to move his hairy black ass - Hamish, the old hunter living on the shore of O'Creagh's Run, probably would let Arthur spend the night. He could continue his journey to North the next morning."

Warrior of the Altaii: An Ideal Read For Wheel of Time Fans

Waiting for The Wheel of Time to hit Amazon Prime? Reading Jordan’s early novel, Warrior of the Altaii, will tide you over.

As readers are preparing to dig into fantasy epic The Wheel of Time all over again with Amazon Prime’s forthcoming television adaptation, they’re also given the treat of experiencing a "new" Robert Jordan book.

After forty years of sitting on the shelf, Warrior of the Altaii, Robert Jordan’s first novel, is finally being released. While it very much has the flavor of a late-1970s fantasy, it’s a really good fantasy novel from that era. And, as a bonus for Wheel of Time readers, there are plenty of seeds they can detect in this early work that grew into something more fully-fledged in Jordan’s most famous series.

"The early hints of his major themes from The Wheel of Time—I think [readers] can’t help but pick up on them,” Jordan’s editor and wife, Harriet McDougal, told Den of Geek in an interview. “He was working on the relations between men and women—a constant interest of his, how relationships work.”

Tor founder and publisher Tom Doherty felt similarly. “There’s so much foreshadowing of what he would eventually put in The Wheel of Time,” Doherty told Den of Geek. Doherty bought Warrior of the Altaii before he founded the speculative fiction publisher. However, Jordan wanted to finish some other works—including The Wheel of Time—before returning to the manuscript. “I think when [people] read it, they will say, ‘Oh, wow, this was the foundation.’ I think they’ll get pleasure out of making the connections.”

What is Warrior of the Altaii about?

For readers familiar with Jordan’s The Conan Chronicles novels, reading Warrior of the Altaii will make it clear why McDougal originally thought Jordan would be excellent at writing for that franchise. Told in the first person, Warrior of the Altaii is the story of Wulfgar, a lord of the horse warriors of the Plain, a near-wasteland where every day is a struggle to survive.

The Altaii people live in small, nomadic groups, and violence is a very real, ongoing part of their existence. They thrive on raiding caravans, frequently selling both the goods and the merchants to buyers who turn a blind eye to the fact that they may be purchasing their competitors.

But life for the Altaii is changing. The beasts of the Plain are getting fiercer; caravans are becoming fewer and farther between, and the water holes are less prevalent. In one case, another group of nomads, the Morassa, seems to have poisoned one of the water holes, damaging the future for all who must survive on the Plain. Wulfgar has no desire for his people to change, but the threat that the Morassa, the “civilized” people of Lanta, and the mysterious and magical Most High may have plotted together to eliminate the Altaii all together means that Wulfar must lead his people to a war—or face their extinction.

There are a lot of familiar elements here—the horse-warrior culture is likely based on the nomadic tribes united by Genghis Khan (who founded the largest contiguous empire in history), which in turn may have served as an inspiration for the Dothraki in George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones series. The hero is captured by one of the twin goddess-empresses of Lanta, a twisted Dragon Lady who tries to tame Wulfgar into a pet; those tropes have shown up in many fantasy novels, both of that era and beyond. The battle sequences are worthy of the Peter Jackson treatment: sprawling combats where the noble barbarians face off against the shield walls of the Lantan infantry.

There are also some elements that modern readers may find dated. As Doherty acknowledged, “It will be a problem with some people. It wasn’t a problem in those days—the attitudes were just somewhat different.”

For example, the slave trade is mentioned in a matter-of-fact way; people taken in a raid or found alone in the desert are made into slaves, regardless of their heritage or gender (though the novel primarily features female slaves).

There is also a degree of sexually-based torture that would have felt different to audiences in the 1970s—but may also remind savvy Wheel of Time readers of a slim scene from Lord of Chaos, where the Forsaken Semirhage, who is truly evil and one of the most frightening of the Forsaken, conducts similar torture on a Warder. The version in Wheel of Time is more palatable because of the clarity with which Jordan showed good and evil in the scene, rather than the more ambiguous morality of all the characters in Warrior. It's fascinating to see his progress as a writer in this way.

But Warrior of the Altaii also surpasses many of the early genre expectations. There are unique hints of a post-apocalypse in a genre mash-up that introduces time-traveling Wanderers, including history scholar Elspeth, whose understanding of the way societies grow and change is vital for the survival of the Altaii.

The mysterious Most High also have a backstory more appropriate for dystopian science fiction than a sword and sorcery novel. Loose threads that remain unresolved at the end of the novel (which does stand as a whole) may leave readers wondering where Jordan might have taken those threads had this been the series he developed further, rather than The Wheel of Time.

Connections to The Wheel of Time

There are also plenty of reflections Wheel of Time readers will notice, the most obvious being the naming convention of the mountain range: Wulfgar’s Backbone of the World becomes, in The Wheel of Time, the Spine of the World. The Plain where the Altaii live resembles the deserts of the Aiel people. And the themes of gender division—and what happens as those gender roles are crossed—continued to play out throughout Jordan’s work.

In Warrior of the Altaii, the Sisters of Wisdom feel very much like the precursors of the Aes Sedai. The Sisters among the Altaii know the Sisters working for the Lantans. They discuss the consequences of what happens when a Sister has turned to evil. Wulfgar, who serves as the center of several rituals, becomes changed due to his contact with magic—something that other men have not experienced. That he is central to not only the events of the novel, but to the shape the world will take in the future, is reminiscent of the concept of Ta’veren.

Readers are likely to spot many more similarities, and they may not all spot the same things. As Doherty noted, each reader will bring with them what they remembered from The Wheel of Time, and so will find different aspects in Warrior of the Altaii that resonate.

“It’s a very enriching experience to read this and see where he was all those years before he started The Wheel of Time,” McDougal said. She also expressed her hopes for the novel: “It’s lovely to see people getting interested in and enchanted by Robert Jordan all over again. I hope that this brings new readers, who have a great deal of pleasure before them.”

She also expressed her excitement for The Wheel of Time Amazon Prime series, on which she serves as the consulting producer, and how eager she is to see the story adapted to film after all her years working on the story. “I think of these characters as my children,” she confessed. “It’s amazing.”

Of course, she couldn’t reveal much about the production, which is being kept under wraps. “I will say I went to Prague earlier this month,” she told us in November, “where they are shooting, doing the principle photography. It all looks perfectly wonderful.”

As readers wait for the series to come to television, they can pick up Warrior of the Altaii. This previously-shelved original work of Jordan’s will certainly serve as a window into his later works—as well as serve to deepen Jordan’s legacy.

The Oneiroi are dark-winged daimones of the underworld and are the personification of dreams. They are able to take the form of animals at will and are said to leave Erobos each night like a flock of bats. The Oneiroi leave Erobos from one of two gates, either the gates of horn which emit prophetic, god-sent dreams, or the gates of ivory, which emit false dreams without meaning.

Parentage and siblings depend on which of the Greek or Roman epics, essays, or plays one refers to. In Hesiod’s Theogony, the Oneiroi are the children of Nyx by parthenogenesis while in Cicero’s De natura deorum, they are the children of Nyx and Erebos. In Hesiod’s Theogony, they are the siblings of Hypnos while in Ovid’s Metamorphoses, they are the children of Hypnos and Pasithea.

In the Metamorphoses Ovid gives the names of three of the Oneiroi including that of Phantasos, who takes the form of inanimate objects in prophetic dreams, Phobetor, the god of nightmares, who can take the form of beasts and monsters, and Morpheus, the god of dreams, who can take the form of men and is seen to be tasked as a messenger to the gods.

Melville) (Roman epic C1st B.C. to C1st A.D.) : "[Hera commands the messenger Iris summon Dream :] ‘Iris (Rainbow), my voice’s trustiest messenger, hie quickly to the drowsy hall of Somnus (Sleep) [Hypnos], and bid him send a Dream of Ceyx drowned to break the tidings to [his wife] Alcyone.’ Then Iris, in her thousand hues enrobed traced through the sky her arching bow and reached the cloud-hid palace of the drowsy king [the God of Sleep] … Around him everywhere in various guise lie empty Somnia (Dreams) [Oneiroi], countless as ears of corn at harvest time or sands cast on the shore or leaves that fall upon the forest floor. U P G

UPG is an acronym for unverified personal gnosis and refers to interactions with entities that are not supported by the original mythos. Here I explain what I have found deities tend to expect and how I recommend starting a relationship with Morpheus.

There is a general consensus by revivalist or reconstruction polytheists that deities prefer to be honored in a modernized equivalent of how they were honored in their ancient culture – though this certainly isn’t the rule. Some deities are more specific and demanding than others while some really do not care. Morpheus has been found to be rather easy-going though he really prefers at least an attempt and, the more effort given to that attempt, the happier he is. The term used for the reconstruction/revival of the ancient Greek religion is called Hellenismos and more information can be found below.

Building a relationship with a deity is where one often starts to part with traditional lore and become influenced by others’ and one’s own UPG. So while you use the framework of Hellenismos for your worship, you use the UPG of others, and later your own, to form connections to build upon with the deity. Starting a relationship with a deity is a complicated business and often varies from person to person, but when I am asked how to start, people are often asking me about ways to approach Morpheus. I recommend starting with a small offering to Him. This post includes a list of associations for Morpheus, suggested offerings, and spells that can be used to offer and/or honor Him. I also recommend musing over what Morpheus means to you in your spiritual and personal development (Is he a messenger? Is he a teacher for astral travel, lucid dreaming, etc? Is he a symbol of hope for you to encourage you to reach for the stars and dream big? Is he a symbol of escapism? Is he just a god of dreams?).

Quick while still on the topic of UPG. When I first started working with Morpheus there was very little available to me. I ended up considering that as the god of dreams it would follow that daydreams would also fall to him. Daydreams are our fantasies and dreams. Those fantasies and dreams can spark some amazing art and writing or drive us to achieve the futures we dream up, so I often associate Morpheus with the arts and see Him as one of our biggest supporters in finding the strength and courage to achieve our dreams.

Episode 8 - "One of the best moves in the history of this series." - Devon

I'M FREE OF THE PURPLE SQUIRREL MAN !!!! Mitchell you were great, but i couldn't let you stay in the game when i knew you were after me <3 at least you made jury though so that's good :) ALSO FUC FUCKF FUCK FUFKC FUCK WE MADE JURYYYYYYYYYY I'M GONNA PEE MY ACTUAL PANTS now all i have to do is make single digits and i'll be satisfied. but then after that,,, it's winning :$ also alyssa and jess are a v obvious f2 they aren't even hiding it anymore wowowow

So I’m already starting to plan how I can go about this next round. I think I would need to go after Sammy next. We don’t have as much of a connection as I thought we did, he is closer to Jones and Alyssa than I am, and this helps me get back into the middle like I need/want to be. I regain the trust of Aidan and Dani, and probably could gain a stronger connection with Devon and Jess (if they’d be open to this vote).

So, without having to do too much extra work, people also saw the same thing as me and want to get Sammy out; awesome. But now I have to find a way to make sure that it comes into fruition. There's a line between keeping this secret but also building those connections that come with blindsiding someone with someone else... Like can I trust Tim not to go back and tell Sammy? I think I can, but there's a risk in telling another person.

I'm telling you right now, there is no one in the game playing with fire more than me.

1. I made 5 different fake idol charts in the fans vs favs stage to gain trust 2. I jumped ship on the fans and committed to Sammy, Chelsea, and Alyssa after the swap 3. I'm pinning the whole entire cast against one another and taking out the biggest threat in Sammy.

If I can successfully get Aidan to flush his advantage and knock out Sammy, this could go down as one of the best moves in the history of this series. It would be a true tale of going from the top to the bottom in one single round.

hahah, right okay so a confession.... I was super stressed with this the BUZZ challenge really but like, I cleaned my room and still went to play DnD and still one. Extra bonus of the night, I didn't die and my character leveled up. yay's all around.

THE GAME IS A FOOT!

Things are really happening strategically now and after being on the wrong side of the vote last week I want to be very intentional about every move that I make going forward. Right now there are a few names bouncing around but mainly Dani and Sammy in retaliation.

I don't know why this Sammy/Chelsea/JD/Jonesy or whatever faction is all voting one way but they're all boring so whatever. Apparently JD has Maynor on her ass and a lot of people are sniffing Jonesy' boring ass pussy juice for whatever reason. The game is sort of divided right now and it's weird... and there's currently a plan in place to divert a few votes onto Chelsea to skew idol suspicion and avoid a deadlock. Imagine we pulled a 6-5-1 or 6-4-2 or something?

I really don't want Dani to leave because she's somebody I need in this game but it just seems like the boring bitches want to go after my friends and I'm trying to fake it til I make it with them but it's not working?

***FUN FACT I WROTE HALF OF THIS CONFESSIONAL ON SATURDAY BEFORE I FOUND OUT ABOUT SNAKE.. I MEAN SAMMY****

So JD winning immunity was LITERALLY worst case scenario for me. They say don't meet your heroes because you'll be disappointed well... that's how I feel about JD.

I'm really scared I'm not going to make it out of this round alive. I just hope if there's a push for me to go I can play my idol correctly and not leave this game looking like an idiot because I didn't play an idol I had.

Apparently I'm a COMP BEAST? ME? JESS? BEING TARGETED FOR BEING A COMP BEAST? I C-A-N-N-O-T.

I'm being targeted because people are scared of someone with an ACTUAL PERSONALITY.

What ended up happening was: Devon called myself/Alyssa and spilled all of the tea about Sammy targeting us. This was HUGE of Devon so I hope he's not lying. What kind of sketched me out during that call was Alyssa seemed kind of relieved that they switched from her to me when I was generally SHOOK about them targeting her too? So that was something? I'm not gonna look to into it though lmfao. Devon not telling us for a couple of days is amood though. That kind of is a giant red flag.

Jones hasn't told Alyssa about that alliance which I personally find WEIRD. I thought Jones and Alyssa were confirmed final 2. Maybe this will cause some doubt OR maybe Jones already told Alyssa and she's lying. I have no idea at this point.

My plan for this round was to get Dani to throw out Chelsea's name as her counter. That way if Sammy or any of them have an idol they'll waste it on Chelsea while we target Sammy. We need to throw off his scent.

Like we know aidan has a vote steal that’s pretty obvious,, but like,,, what if yk? I’m super fucking scared. I know I said I don’t WANt to have immunity,,,, but now I want immunity AJSKNDJD but ummm yeah :( I’m ooky spookied. I have a really bad feeling, but hopefully everything works out.

So Aidan wouldn't reveal his advantage which sucks but I'm working on gaining trust with him.

Pretty sure I’m going home so that’s fun..but Sammy might go home for being too chaotic. Idk djdjdjdjd. I really enjoyed playing though

So, once again I am potentially on the chopping block and I don't understand why. My squad is voting for Dani but I'm over people wanting me out. ughhhhh. I am normally a very likable person and those 5 votes I got last tribal were the most I have ever received in a game. I'm a decent player, but not really a threat so idk why people just want to vote me. Anywho, I am hoping my squad of people can save me yet again (gross, I don't want to be in the position where people have to save me) and people stop trying to come for me.

Tonights vote is going to be very interesting. Its Dani vs Sammy. I hope Sammy goes because he doesnt trust me and he wants me gone. I hpe nothing crazy happens and he goes. Dani and I got back to talking and everything was smoothed over so thats good.

Kong: Skull Island Review

Here’s a little disclaimer before you continue reading this review. I enjoyed my time watching this movie. I liked it as a pop-corn-flick because of its effects and progression story-wise, though I did not like it as a fleshed out, well-crafted movie. I think you know the difference between the two. If you don’t then I strongly suggest you skip this review. I will most likely de-tour a lot and ramble quite a bit. If you can deal with that, thank you. Now let’s get on with it!

Spoilers ahead!!! Read at your own risk!!!

I first off want to talk a little bit about the good things in this movie, because credit where credit is due, this movie was entertaining from beginning till the end. It’s got humor, very hit or miss, but humor nonetheless. It’s got action scenes which were all done extremely well. I don’t think there’s a single action scene in this movie I ever thought was boring or uninteresting. Handled with care, the scenes in which we see King Kong we’re all beautiful. I love the homage to classic action flicks were the heat is distorting the image, making it look wavy, while helicopters are flying towards the sunset with rock-music playing in the background. it seems to me like the filmmakers were trying t make a fun movie more than they were trying to make a deep philosophical drama about the existence of unknown creatures living o earth. But that is also why this movie is as horribly flawed as it is. And here is why:

Pacing. Oh god the pacing. As I said, one thing I really have to give this movie is that it is really good at keeping your interest. There are few scenes were you’re out-right bored which I see as a strength because if there weren’t a lot of action scenes this movie would be boring as all hell. This doesn’t play to the movies advantage though since it got very messy during some scenes. The longest shot (coincidentally it was during an action-sequence) lasted for a whooping 11 seconds… 11… Fuck me if that isn’t on the verge of being a little too long for our precious audience to handle. Who needs good framing, and in that pacing, when we can use cuts to emphasize… I don’t fucking know… how urgent the whole situation is? I mean the characters are stuck on an island full of fantastical creatures never before known to man. Some of them are extremely dangerous and they need to get away from these beasts. Maybe the editors wanted to put us in the characters shoes by never showing anyone for more than a second, because it’s not the characters that’s the stars of this show. It’s fucking King Kong baby, and he is literally everywhere in this god forsaken movie.

The sad part about all of this is the fact that they’ve got some amazing shots in this movie that could have been so great, but they cut those parts out so fast that nothing ever feels fantastical. It just seems rushed. No less does the lack of interesting camera angles help. There’s a scene in the movie were, after just crashing on the island, the crew is venturing out into the wilderness to get to the north side of the island. They then stumble upon a gigantic bison-looking animal. They all stand still, fearing that the creature would attack. But Tom, the brave soul that he is, tells everyone to calm down. The bison creature turns out to be friendly and just wants to eats it’s grass in peace, and so it leaves. This could have been a great first introduction to what this island has to offer, but this scene was so hastily edited it looses all sense of awe that I was feeling during that moment. It’s actually sad because I know that behind all the curtains there is a great movie somewhere. But making a movie too long would scare off a big audience and devoting too much time towards the characters would have taken a lot of time away from what the audience wants to see in a big block-buster movie like this. The creature in the title, the trailers, on the posters, and literally everywhere else. This isn’t so much a fault of this movie in particular, more so the general style of a movie like this. But because this movie has still got these issues I’m counting it as a flaw nonetheless.

Characters, or lack thereof. Characters are extremely weak. I remember Tom Hiddleston’s character being a navigator of sorts. But he never fucking does his job. I remember him saying “Damn I’m so smart I’m just going to fucking point towards the dangerous parts of this island because it’s the quickest way of getting to wherever the fuck. We need to further this plot and if we can’t have an excuse to show more of King Kong because we know people got disappointing to not see any of Godzilla in his movie, we just need to head in King Kong’s direction because I am the navigator and I need things to do. I’m not being payed to do jack shit even though that is exactly what I fucking do.” But I could be remembering things wrong...

Brie Larson being a photographer (and unlike Tom’s character, she does her fucking job). She takes photos of whatever, anything and everything. I don’t remember her ever doing anything else though. She made the tribes people do the fucking peace sign for a photo, which was hysterical, comedical genius. People who’ve never seen a god damn camera before needs to pose for a photo she needs to take and do the fucking peace sign. I can’t see this being in the movie other than for comedic relief. If this is what her character decided to do upon meeting a civilization unknown to the rest of the world then I will consider her a stupid cunt who needs to lay off her shit. Because that is nothing like what a rational human being would do in a situation like the one the characters are in.

Samuel L Jacksson’s character is an army man who hates King Kong because Samuel L Jacksson flew with his team onto Skull Island and got attacked by King Kong, because the fucking army guys shot him, and so him and his team got mushed to shit by the gigantic ape, being the beast that he is. Who the fuck are you to be pissed off when you strike first and then gets shit for it. His piss-poor excuse for a character makes no sense to me because the only thing that drives him to do anything in this movie is his urge to kill King Kong. I get that you can’t flesh out all characters in a satisfying way for a two hour long movie like this, but there is no depth. I guess you could argue that his motivation to kill King Kong isn’t just fueled by his hatred towards him, but also because of his desire to get home. But that could also be said about any character in this movie. Everybody wants to get back home.

And for the last character I really want to bring up is Tian Jing’s character San. Why is she in the movie? What is she if not padding? She talks… Which is great I guess, but she doesn’t add anything to the movie, not as a character nor an actor. Walking out of the theater I was on the verge of laughing just thinking about how nothing the character was. The way they showed her in the first few scenes had me thinking she was going to be a major role, maybe not of the same rank as Tom or Brie’s characters, but still important to the progression of the story. But no. She is literally just there, doing whatever it is her character does. Amazing.

The rest of the cast, John C. Reilly and Toby Kebbell for example, we’re okay for the most part. They played their roles nicely and was actually giving a somewhat decent performance. Most of the cast was, too bad none of them could get a chance to stick out because no time was spent developing their characters because they needed time to show off how cool and exciting King Kong and other animals on this island are.

Enough ranting about characters, let’s move on to something even better:

Tone, the one thing a movie like this desperately needs. This movie has no idea what tone it wants to settle for. Now I know that a movie can have multiple tones and switch between them. Many great movies has done that successfully. Just look at The Trueman Show blending comedy and drama for example. But this movie is trying very hard to be a mix between an intense action packed dark-drama, comedy, and a monster-feature. There was one scene in the beginning of the movie were the research team flies in on skull island, meeting King Kong for the first time, and the fucking nerve the writers have to murder basically everyone but the main characters in one of the most intense and brutal helicopter scenes I’ve seen in recent years, and one of the fucks in the helicopter asks “Is that a monkey?” HOLY FUCK THE OBSERVATION SKILLS YOU’VE GOT DISPOSABLE ARMY MAN #23. Yes it fucking is, team of writers, making the script for fucking King Kong, the most famous ape since that one that got shot in the zoo a few months back. (God bless you, sweet child.) I honestly admire the team of writers who can come up with this shitty excuse of a “joke” and the nerve it must have taken to put it into the final product. No shame.

I can’t get over the fucking deaths in this movie. This connects nicely with tone because again, this movie fails to jump between being a dark-drama and a comedy. The writers seem to be unaware of one huge and important aspect of any movie: timing. If you nail the timing, you’re making good shit. When a character dies in this movie they all have to fucking blurt out a shitty one-liner. “oh fuck…” or “god dammit…” are only a few examples. Why do they all do this before dying? If it’s for a joke then you can’t repeat the same kind for joke for every major death because it’s extremely lazy. Repetition kills humor.

Where are they? Whenever there’s a scene… like… any, there’s a noticeable haze around each character. That haze is what we professionals call “shit green/blue-screening”. Was all of this movie shot in one studio somewhere in Hollywood? Probably not. There were some jungle scenes and some shots inside a temple that all looked like it was recorded on a real location. Though with the amount of processing on the imagery it’s hard to tell. It looks nice, but not necessarily convincing.

Oh my god the music. Why? Why… Omg why go from diegetic to nondiegetic music in your action movie if you’re not going to do anything interesting with the concept? Swiss Army Man had the characters start going “DAA, DA DA DA DAAH” from nowhere and they built the entire fucking soundtrack around that. It was incredibly executed and worked really well for the tone of the film. In this movie though, some guy starts a record player and that is now playing clear as day in the background of a shot, for entire scenes in some instances. It’s not a huge problem, it’s just not interesting enough to put as much emphasis on as they are in the movie. And if they didn’t show so many god damn record-players being started, I wouldn’t have cared enough to bring it up. But they did, and so did I.

Not to mention the songs they used. This could easily have been written in the “tone” paragraph but I think it fits better here. Here’s a short list of songs they decided to license for this film:

The Chambers Brothers - Time Has Come Today

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Run Through the Jungle

The Stooges - Down On The Street

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

I know that these songs brings back a sense of nostalgia for the 70’s, and it certainly did for me, but when comparing it to what the movie was showing you they just don’t fit at all. Were some scenes shows you death and chaos, other scenes will be happy-go-lucky with these songs playing. Like wtf. It’s such a harsh contrast between what would realistically be going on during a situation like this. The group of people you are with are the only ones left after the attacks of King Kong, you wont make it three days without being killed by whatever could be out there in the wild, and the songs they choose to play over these scenes are… these… I dont’ know. I just think you should be more considerate when picking songs for your movies. Either you make your movie more lighthearted and not as dark, or keep it as is and use more fitting music. Although i see this more as a preferred taste than anything. Subjectivity is always important when it comes to movies, but I still feel it is important to give your two cents on something that is so mish-mash as this movie honestly is.

Other minor gripes. Where the ever living fuck did King Kong come from in the scene with the bison creature? Brie Larson’s character should have, not only heard King Kong walking up to the hurt bison creature, but she would also have fucking seen him walk up from behind the bison, seeing as King Kong is “the size of a building” in the word of the one army fuck earlier in the movie. I’d expect King Kong to fucking sound like one as well. There were no sound building up to his appearance, except for his roar right before the camera pans up towards him.

Why were the tribes people not explored more? We were taught about the gods they believe in, the fact that they don’t talk too much, they share their land and we can see on them that they’ve got some kind of body-paint covering most of their bodies. But we aren’t sure about how they communicate with one another. We have no clue how they’ve managed to stay alive in an environment at hostile as Skull Island for so long, when an army is wiped out in a heart-beat. It’s something I would have loved for them to have elaborated a bit more on. I was genuinely interested in knowing more about their existence.

Fuck the scene were John Ortiz’s character get’s taken away by monster birds and eaten right in front of the rest of the cast. There’s literally no reason for it to happen. There were no signs of the birds catching up on them. There was barely any reaction from the other characters, more than a “He’s gone, nothing to say.” by John C. Reilly’s character. They then swiftly move on to the next scene. Was his character so uninteresting to the writers that they just wanted to kill him off without ever expanding on who he is, how he’s feeling, what he’s thinking? I mean I can only assume they killed him off because there was literally nothing else for him to do in the movie. He didn’t say much, nor did he do much. I guess I see why they did it, but I don’t agree with it. Not one bit because the scene is dumb and the characters are awful for barely giving a shit about it.

Final thoughts! Oh my god this fucking movie. Even though it is cheesy, filled with death and destruction, rock music, and everything that could be considered “cool”, it’s still got its fair share of flaws. But i honestly kind of likes it. It’s like the room, just not as unintentionally bad and not as unintentionally funny. I could totally see myself seeing this with friends again some day, when we’re bored and just want something fun to watch. But I cant see myself digging deeper into what this movie has got to offer story-wise. It’s got great ideas, like the underground spaces they kept bringing up throughout the movie. It’s just a little sad that that idea wasn’t utilized at all. And it’s sad that things that I could have seen being made into this movie were cast aside for other ideas. But it turned out okay in the end. Okay.

Episode #10: "This is why people hate the gays” - Michael

Oh my fucking god did y’all see that tribal I was like butch it’s me I’m going like bye bye omg but NO it was simply a vote reveal and the idol WILL be mine

So a few things to go over...

One, the plan to get rid of Felix was successful and bought me and Michael another day...HOWEVER, it would appear that I was not the first person to make it to the end of the bridge, which is a shame cuz I REALLY needed this idol, but it's okay.

Because Michael is still gonna be considered a bigger threat than me, and the most likely to go home if we both don't win immunity. That being said, I'm REALLY hoping I can pull this immunity off cuz it'd just be nice to not have to worry about it being me at tribal.

i'm on highkey alert starting now.... this round (and honestly for the rest of the game) is prime time for blindsides and the waters are ripe for it... i really wouldn't be shocked if i'm targeted and have to play my idol hmph. i really really really just want to be able to use it successfully and i will feel content af with my game no matter what happens...

my plan to take out jones is slowly unfolding, i worked on ryan earlier, and got him to see jones as a ringleader.. and he wants her out soon.. which is perfect for me hehe.. i just dropped some hints here and there that she has a lot of connections.. and now he's paranoid that she's gonna bring together a group of michael/david/mo/ahrre... which is perfect for me since i can use him to take her out... funny enough im not sure when i should take out ryan, he's definitely a threat going forward... but if i play my cards right i can take both of them out because i'm also painting ryan as a big target to some of the others hehe.. im trying not to overplay rn bc my ass is not on the line for votes currently, one misstep and I'm gone

So Felix went home. Which I knew about despite voting for Michael. I thought it was gonna be like 5-5 and tobi was considering to flip to avoid rocks. I didnt want Felix gone personally so I sent in a vote for Michael knowing it wouldnt change the outcome.

Jones is really overplaying wanting this next vote to be a split vote. Like no its 3-3-3 that way. THATS NOT SAFE. ITS ASKING for someone to flip. NO. Jones is going home this round or next round. Thats the T.

Wiggling my way out of danger was a huge success, now i'm just hoping to lay low and not cause much drama and basically let the larger players; David, Rhys, Jones take one another out which will allow me to hopefully slip through the cracks and make it far.

It’s critical that I try my best to win immunities since my name and David’s is on the line and I’d rather he’d go than me. My best plan is to use Jones to my advantage she has a lot of sway with the other side and by playing off her need to be the leader and to have power to keep me in this game. Everybody wants power and everyone wants control and if Jones thinks that she has control over both sides of the tribe then she’s not gonna get suspicious and take me out.

So I’m a little disheartened by the touchy subjects results. I won “the biggest goat” and “who doesn’t deserve to be here” and it sucks because these people are my friends and I guess most of them think this. But water off a ducks back, I’m going to smile and keep moving forward. I wanna win.

Another day another update. So from were we left off Felix did end up going home good shit he didn't have an idol. He did play the vote reveal thing but I doubt that changed anything in the slightlest lel. That attempt from Scott to save face by also voting Felix is cute tho hehe.

Anyhow so after that we went to touchy subjects which tbh I was waiting because that would be an opening in my game. So Ryan and Rhys think I'm a goat which it's not suprising considering they're the ones I talk to the least. However most importantly Mo was picked as the goat by the most people.

Now this is a tough game and everyone is putting a lot of effort into it so imo it's not easy to point out a goat and Mo is understandably feeling down because he's as much into this game as everyone else. So I knew this was my opportunity to make a move because Mo will be wanting to prove himself to others so if I'm gonna try something this is my best oportunity to get his vote.

Now I grab Michael and David as well who are in a desperate spot and BAM we have the underground boys. So now the plan is simple. Tobi told me they want to split the votes between Mo and Michael in case Michael has an idol, so we get them to split then Mo and me flip and hopefully get someone.

That someone should be Ryan IMO because he's def a duo with rhys and even a stronger duo with Scott. So birds one stone. Plus he called me a goat so hey thre's that :)

lmfao i'm getting dead silence from half the tribe and totally awkward conversation from Jones... definitely getting the vibe that i'm the target. I know Scott got tea from Tobi that Jones has concocted some scheme to split the vote on me and/or rhys or something to that extent? idek i need the full picture tomorrow but lol. should be a fun show no matter what happens

Ok so Michael, David, Fabricio and I formed an alliance because were kind of on the outs. I know this is weird because I had rough pasts with all of them but I really like this alliance. Now, do I trust Michael? Absolutely fucking not, he already lowkey threw me under the bus after the alliance was made. By telling Jones I told him. So I want him gone soon.

I have to laugh... this game gets wilder by the minute... my position right now is really fragile but its good if i play it right... right now i have a lot of influence over what happens hehe... like i swear to god i feel cocky but lets review some things. 1. Jones is wrapped around my finger... i've been playing this whole super supportive ally and she even gave us the name "kermit and miss piggy" for our duo (me being miss piggy obv) and i've been working hard on her.. i got her to realize michael was actually super manipulating and was using her for a lot of things.. which is funny because that's exactly what im doing to her... she even showed me some stuff he wrote to her and i was consistently telling her that im trying to protect her from being manipulated by him... i swear to god im evil HAHA and like i love her and all but she's a huge social threat and if i see a clear shot im gonna take her out 2. scott scott scott... we were sharing idol guesses a few days ago and he went ghost on me on the guesses... i had suspicions that he was close to getting/had the idol... AND HE LITERALLY TOLD ME HE HAD IT I WAS LIKE OMGGG like this made me SO relieved because that means that i don't have to worry about the merge idol popping up without me knowing, but after i leaked his idol in Saint Vincent i have NO idea why he told me again... like this obv makes me wanna take him out and do stuff but im not gonna leak it again... i think. idk How to make confessionals apparently Bc I KEEP FORGETTING AHHH Michael comes to me right after the Felix vote and says “hey David crossed the bridge the idol’s gone” and I’m like MOTHERFUCKER. I WAS THIS FUCKING CLOSE. And it obviously scared me because either of them could be lying and one of them could have the idol. And I OF COURSE PANICKED. The next day I went to try and cross the bridge (Bc I was on 90) and I ACTUALLY DID IT!!! but guess what,,,,, THERE WAS NOTHING!!!!! HORRAY!! Idk what I’d do with myself if I got an idol tbh,, that shits scary. But yeah knowing that the idol is gone AND THAT I heard it from Michael first is hella scary and that could mean 3 things - A) theyre felling the truth and it’s gone, B) Michael’s a liar and Has it, or C) David lied to Michael and David has the idol. So right now this information is fucking with my head. And it’s deeeefinitely going to in the next vote.

So David wins immunity and I’m not THAT bothered by it? Of course it just makes things harder for everyone else Bc the original plan was to split between Michael and David, BUT NOW WE CANT. Either way Michael has to go home. He has a really terrible way of getting into everyone’s head and it’s not good for anyone. Plus if he makes it to the end he has such a good chance at winning with an underdog story it’s not even funny ajddjkf. BUT Theres still the possibility that one of those two has an idol, and we really have to think wisely on who would go in case that happens. Tobi thinks Mo is the safer move, but I really don’t think there’s a point in getting rid of someone that everyone thinks of as a sheep. Plus I’d like to sit with him in the end soooooo yeah. My personal preference on who the “blindside target” would be is Ryan. I love him to DEATH and Sweyn to the end, but he’s a challenge threat, and we have to pick off Sweyn eventually if the Muppet alliance wants to be victorious. Michael and david are already on board with getting him out anyway Bc they think he and Rhys are “tight” lol. But right now the vote split should be 7-2 on Michael as far as I know, there’s a solid chance that Mo will get a vote and if he does I’ll actually DIE. Also /according to Michael/, he said that Mo came to him and told him was voting for Michael. AND LIKE THATS THE THING MICHAEL IS PLANTING SEEDS IN MY HEAD THAT MO ISnt some I can trust and that /scares me/ which is why he has to go. If the tribal goes right, Michael goes, if Michael plays an idol, Ryan goes. If it’s a tie between Ryan and Mo, Ryan goes.,,, hopefully.

So, Touchy Subjects, Im almost irrelevant, atleast im honest.

Anyway, The vote plan is Michael. However Jones is scared of an idol. I dont really want to split a vote but Jones is persistant on it. Ive been talking with people and apprently the split vote is on Mo.

However I talk to Ahrre and he knows this information too? Im on the bottom of whatever this is. Like I NEVER hear stuff first. I NEVER feel like I acctually know whats going on.

So to be honest. I dont feel like im going to win. Atleast not on this path. So I need to take a peck at the leader. Jones. Mo and Ahrre are said to be in her pocket. This is bad for 2 reasons. Jones has more power, and they arent doing much thus will be dragged to the end. So removing power, and increasing my odds of getting to the end will be great.

So the split vote is set to be 5-2-2. However, I can safely tell Michael that its 2 on Mo. So Michael & David both vote Mo. This is 5-4. We just need 1 flip to make this happen. So that could either be me, changing my vote to Mo. Perhaps someone else could flip beside me. Fingers crossed.

So it seems like once again I am getting voted and with the amount of idols and such out there it’s getting more and more scary being this bitch who’s constantly getting voted because at any point I’m either getting the majority or I’m getting idolled out. I’m just hoping and praying that everything goes well and I need to start winning immunity

Alright so let's go through a couple of things.

I WON IMMUNITYYYY. Omg, it felt so good to get redemption after losing this same challenge in my first org. (I got the tiebreaker there too and was WAY off, LOL fuck me) And anyways, it feels good to not have to worry about it being me tonight and to have a spot in the final 8. Hopefully this shows people that I've BEEN here to friggin play.

So now as it stands for tribal tonight...myself, Michael, Mo and Ahrre are gonna vote Ryan out. The other side are planning to split their votes 3 for Michael and 2 for Mo cuz they think Ahrre and Mo are voting for Michael. If all goes well and no idols get played, then we're in for the biggest power shift this season has seen and I cannot wait to be a part of that shift, cuz it's FUCKING GO TIME BABY

Right so idek where I left off but I think it was right after the underground boys were formed. Anyhow so Jones was weary of ryan so she thought about voting him, thing is he only wanted him as a backup plan in case Michael played an idol because everyone and their mums want him dead at the end of the day I guess.

So I'm like ok let's get michael and david to vote ryan with us and then while one of us still votes michael to make it a 4-3-2, (without letting her know Mo was with us and that I would vote ryan anyways lel) but then she freaked out and so did everyone really and they suddenly didn't want to split anymore and everyone was voting Michael.

However I managed to convince Tobi (and by proxy the rest of sweyn cause let's face it tobi is on top of this game that's another guy I've got to get rid of) to split the vote anyways, so as it stands Tobi and Rhys are voting Mo and Ryan Scott and Jones are voting Michael. But the thing is that they think Mo and me are also voting Michael but in reality we're gonna vote Ryan so it SHOULD be 4 votes Ryan 3 Michael and 2 Mo.

Now my worry is that if Ryan plays an idol it all goes to shit but I'm trying my hardest to make sure he doesn't know. Anyhow let's see how this plays out.

It doesn’t feel good to be facing elimination especially now that jones is voting me. Any slight deviation from the plan for anyone could lead to my elimination but I hope that now ryan is voting mo that I might just scrape by once again and with jones’ Transparent game she shouldn’t be Long behind Ryan.

Episode #6: “"NOT ANYMOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE" - Big Z

Even though I misplayed my idol, I cannot believe that my incessant need for wanting Toby gone actually fucking worked. Like. I will be taking the credit for this one because I just fed it to my peoples and had Loris know about it and just controlled his emotional vulnerability. I would have been good without having the idol either... so wig- I fucked up on that end but WOWZA it feels good to actually lead a vote, see the vote go the way you want, and have my target argue with someone who HE thinks started this revolution. Hehehehhehee

bruh im getting major Byzantium teas right now... where my og tribe gets decimated and only two of us actually make it to the merge. right now theres only 3 of us left and just like then if only 2 of us make merge we're gonna start off as swing votes, then everyone will target us. please don't let that happen Byzantium wasn't my greatest org experience

In the middle of the challenge, so this confessional will have to be brief. I can definitely WIN this challenge, but I do question if that's the best for my game. The other tribe had a unanimous 6-1 vote, so now it's an even 3-3 split over there.

If we win, it's possible that either they'll go to rocks, or one of the Revati's will flip to save themselves? (Because it's unlikely the Auva are dumb enough to flip on one-another since that'd give us majority in the merge.)

However our tribe is currently a 3-2-2 split, and while I don't THINK the two sets of two are working together, I can't eliminate the possibility that they'd gang up on us to eliminate one of us and evening the numbers for the merge.

It's difficult to say where this whole tribe will end up shaking down, but I'm hoping to avoid Tribal if I can help it. The less Tribal Councils I go to, the more options I have going into merge because I won't have necessarily hurt any feelings by voting a particular way.

Well, I crushed the challenge, scoring all 5 points on my tribe, everyone was talking about how I carried them... which already has me worried given my history of being labelled a challenge beast after only having one good challenge.

But at the very least no tribal, I'm curious if we'll be merging at 12 or if it'll be some other number. Guess I'll know soon enough, but it's nice to have a break for a bit, and I think I'm doing pretty well on bonding with others so as to better my position.

Dylan still never talks to me. So ideally he'll be gone soonish, either by us losing the next challenge or him serving as an early merge boot. But even if he sticks around I doubt it'll be a major problem.

MY HOPE, for the other tribe is to send home Drew or Roxy (preferably Drew since I know Roxy and can work with that I think), to split up that Power-Pair as Drew was a fool for spoiling that. I don't really care who goes so long as the Revati's stay, and if we DO lose

Sometimes I get confused about which day we’re on, so hopefully it’s day 14 lmao. The other tribe snatched Toby & I’m not surprised. Auva didn’t just make a mistake that will hinder themselves, but it will also affect what’s left of og Zosma. The Auvacados could’ve worked with Toby to start taking down Revati, but it would seem that they’re still out for vengeance. Toby was setup to be in a swing position, of course he’s gonna feel out both sides before choosing one. Now Auva is split with 3 on each side & I don’t see any of them flipping, unless og Auva is gullible again. Drew T. didn’t trust Revati either because he wasted an idol on himself even though Toby voted in favor of him. Flops.

Kori is legitimately a godsend. He c a r r i e d Revati in the challenge by scoring all 5 points that we needed to win. He says that he focused hard & waited for the messages to pop up which mind you were separated by intervals of several minutes in the span of 4 hours. Kori is a very humble dude & tries to downplay his capabilities, but he’s the GOAT. Maybe even the shield I needed. :O

I’m not too worried about Dani at this point in time. If Revati happens to lose then she would probably be the easiest to turn people against. Everyone participated in the music video challenge while she was the only one that did not, and she has a habit of sitting out. Sam told me that she hasn’t talked to him since the day we blindsided Louise & I’ve gotten the same treatment. Since I’m “dead to her”, I think that making a move against Dani pre-merge would benefit me in the long run. This would also change everyone’s perception of Sam and I to being non-threatening come merge as we don’t have the number

tea time sisters! toby was a king but was a threat and I have to see the benefits in him going. this tribal is going to be eventful I think... because I think I’m getting votes because roxy seems to really want me gone??? but i have a plan that I think will work :))))) I tell John to vote out drew t or roxy and I say that I know he doesn’t really want to vote out drew h so I’ll settle and sacrifice for drew t. if he’s fine with voting roxy then I tell him that I think I can get drew t to vote her too, and then we can vote him out next, when in reality we’ll vote out drew h next. if he wants to vote drew t now then I tell him me and z will do it too when hopefully z will vote out roxy with me and drew t instead because roxy is trying to get one of us out. ezpz . In fact we could even vote drew h. it’s all tea. I really hope z and John are loyal to me, I think z will be, and I think I can just play with me saying I trust you to John over and over. cute!!!! I stay winning... I can’t believe that I .. actually have a plan... that’s t it’s so easy idk why I couldn’t do this before my mind is just so powerful now? also auva idol is GONE and that’s fantastic and also I got legacy bitches!!!! only 7 more bitches need to go then I can use it :)

Soooooo half of this tribe is just completely inactive during the most important hours of this game prior to tribal. It’s SO FRUSTRATING because even if I want to make some sort of strategy with them it’ll take them at least 2-3 hours to reply to me. I cannot do this for too long. The other issue is that people are sooooo hesitant to throw names out, and when you do throw a name out literally EVERYONE hears that you started it and it gets turned on you. That happened to me when I said John’s name once to Roxy last tribal. I worry it’s about to happen to Loris suggesting Roxy too. We’ll see how it plays out, if I end up dying I’ll at least go on an active note rather than an inactive one.

I hope we merge soon. My goal is to make it to merge without going to tribal. Idk how my tribe would pan out, we got a few inactive asf people. I dont have an idol but I really want one . tbh I'm so glad I took my break bc I'm not focused on winning im just focused on enjoying myself and my game while it lasts and I feel like its significantly improved my game.

Honestly I am happy Toby went. HE WAS A BITCH! He wanted me out the the first round. Now to get Sam and Ciere out next. Expect Tea motherfuckers. Anyways, literally I have not talked a lot. I have gotten to know Kori. He is a shady fuck, I know that from past experience but I need him. I talked to Emma or Emmy or whatever the fuck her name is too. She seems really sweet.

ok so I think me and Ci'ere are bonding, which wow I never imagined that I would have a social game. I still haven't messaged Dani or Kori which is something I should do. The fact that they haven't messaged me, coupled with the fact that I'm alone on this tribe cements the fact that I am the obvious vote. Brb let me try to make connections.

SO we lost again, and my broken phone prevented me from participating in the challenge. Looking at this based on the challenge I should be leaving, buuuut I am going to be voting big Z out tonight, and because the auvas don't want rocks, they are going to do what I want. I have wanted this guy out from a game standpoint from the very beginning, but once you throw my name out there it's very hard to get back on my good side. Loris is going to be annoyed with me I am sure, he was trying to manipulate the situation between us but I could see right through the whole thing. I had a call with Roxy and she made an alliance with us and the two drews. She seemed to be worried that I would want to stick with loris and Z but I knew immediately what I wanted to do. I am really hoping that a merge will happen next, and that this move will not deeply affect me right away.
