NIVUK BIBLE / LUKE / Narrated by David Suchet
NIVUK BIBLE / LUKE / Narrated by David Suchet
Quick Summary of the book of Luke: The ministry of Jesus Christ is presented from the point of view that Jesus is the Son of Man who came to save the whole world. Jesus shows the love of God to all classes of people, regardless of race or gender. He is unjustly betrayed, arrested, and murdered, but He rises again. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting…

King Jesus versus King Harold
Matthew 2:1-2After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, ‘Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.’ (NIVUK)Although some traditional pictures show the baby Jesus in a stable surrounded by Magi (wise men who may have been ‘king-making’ pagan priests…

SOTK
devotion by Bernard Trippett, Jr
A Message from the Lord for you!
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:6-7, NIVUK.
"I am all that you need. Do not worry today. Do not be anxious today. I am all that you need. Don't look to man. Don't look to a company. Don't look to money. I am all that you need. When you press into Me, you will see all that I am for you. I will provide for you. I am your peace. I am your calm. I am your joy. I will help you get it together. When you need comfort, I am there. Focus on My kingdom and give Me all the rest. Focus on Me and give Me all the rest. I will handle what you can't handle. I will do beyond what you can ask for or imagine. I need your trust to be put in Me", says the Lord.
Study: Ephesians 3:20, 1 Peter 1:3, Philippians 4:19

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.”

Emotions! - Your Lion Bites Word For Today!
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength!"(Mark 12:30)
While your emotions matter, they are not the final word. While you often rely on the state of your emotions, it is my Spirit within you that will cause you to walk in my statutes, spurring you forward on the race set before you.
So, bring me your wayward emotions, feelings, and hurts. I am the one who deals with these. I care about your intimate life. Bring your heart to me. Bring your soul to me. Bring your mind to me.
All must be brought before me in obedience, and I will mould the transformation you desire to see.
Activation: Reflect on one thing, from your heart, soul, or mind that currently results in a lack of peace. Ask God for His revelation as to the source and then choose to respond the way God leads you.
Hebrews 12:15 (NIVUK)"See to it that no-one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many!"
Jeremiah 17:9-10 (ESV) "The heart is deceitful above all things, and the desperately sick; who can understand it? I, the Lord, searched the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds!"
Ezekiel 36:25-26a (ESV)"I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be cleaned from all your own uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you!"

Steps to overcoming your worries
Word for Today written by Bob and Debby Gass
Sunday March 12, 2023
‘I know that you can do all things.’ Job 42:2 NIV
Job lost his wealth, his health, and his children. The book he wrote is a conversation between himself and God. At the beginning of it, Job says, ‘Hear now my reasoning’ (Job 13:6 NKJV). He is asking, ‘Why has all this happened to me?’ At this point, he is totally self-focused. But by the middle of his book, Job has grown spiritually, and now he takes a different approach. Instead of reasoning, he decides to stand on God’s Word: ‘But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread’ (Job 23:10-12 NIVUK).
By the last chapter of his book, Job has decided to trust God completely: ‘I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted … My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you’ (Job 42:2, 5 NIV). Job has finally arrived at the place where he can say, ‘I trust God; there is no need to worry!’ After nine months of worrying, questioning, and reasoning, he decides he doesn’t need answers to all his questions; he only needs to know that God cares for him. And his story ends in these words: ‘The LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before’ (v. 10 NIV). There you have it; the steps to overcoming your worries!

The Faith of Many
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.
5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: ‘He could not be found, because God had taken him away.’ For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. 11 And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. 12 And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. 14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country – a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, 18 even though God had said to him, ‘It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.’ 19 Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshipped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions concerning the burial of his bones.
23 By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.
24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be ill-treated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.
29 By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched round them for seven days.
31 By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.
32 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. 35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were put to death by stoning; they were sawn in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and ill-treated – 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.
39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. — Hebrews 11 | New International Version - UK (NIVUK) Holy Bible, New International Version® Anglicized, NIV® Copyright © 1979, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.® All rights reserved worldwide. Expect the Messiah
Matthew 13:53-58 New International Version – UK (NIVUK) A prophet without honour 53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his home town, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. ‘Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?’ they asked. 55 ‘Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and…
