NHS dentistry should be a warning for everyone about what's going to happen with the rest of the NHS. the government systematically underfunded it to the point that it's practically collapsed as a public service, and patients have moved to private healthcare in droves. those who can't afford to go private frequently resort to home dentistry now, because they can't find an NHS dentist to see them
the politicians in our political system don't defend the NHS because they don't represent our class interests. they're funded by capitalists, depend on the capitalist owned press for their PR, and will get cushy jobs after politics for their good service. they're the representatives of capital and aim to keep the system running profitably for business, knowing that they'll get their cut of the spoils for their good work
the NHS might have been a necessary concession during the last cold war, when the west was trying to prove that it could provide for its people as well as the USSR, but the soviet union is gone now and the working class in the UK is so disorganised and underdeveloped as to pose no threat to the capitalist system. the unprofitable niceties are all going to be stripped away unless we organise as a class and fight back

After clapping for the carers during lockdown, what now for the NHS?
Tumblr media
As Keir Starmer is set to warn that "things will get worse" in the UK before they get better, Channel 4 have highlighted reports of care workers being ripped off, abused and exploited here in the UK.
The Royal College of Nursing is calling on the government to launch a full and urgent investigation, and to work on policy solutions to eradicate these practices. Here is the report.

And despite paying income tax and national insurance, NHS nurses from overseas are being “pushed into poverty” because of rules that deprive many people coming to work in the UK of welfare benefits for five years after they arrive.
A Royal College of Nursing report, based on a survey of more than 3,000 foreign nurses, warns that the policy “punishes” people for coming to work in the UK and is “risking a mass exodus of international nursing staff” from the NHS.

Phil Foden Leaves England Camp to Attend Daughter's Dentist Appointment
Tumblr media
England forward Phil Foden has left the team's Euro 2024 camp to join his daughter for her six-month dental check-up, the FA has confirmed.
Questions have been raised over how the added travel will effect Foden's form, the 24-year-old having previously left the team for the birth of his third child. However, he is expected to return to train with the team ahead of their next match against Spain on Sunday.

NHS dentistry as we know it 'gone for good' | BBC News
NHS dentistry as we know it ‘gone for good’, well what is new for dentistry has not been great for many years and each year it declines even further. But, in the NHS it is not just dentistry, for dentistry is just one of many parts, GP surgeries, Pharmacies, Community health, hospitals and others and while not part of the NHS, but still an essential service to the NHS, social care. None are as…

A fresh approach to fighting poverty in Britain
youtube
Boots and The Hygiene Bank have launched an urgent appeal for donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste to support children as they head back to school.
The Hygiene Bank will distribute all the donations to schools and projects that support young people in the UK throughout September. Boots has also launched a range of educational resources for oral health on the Boots Health Hub.
youtube
According to figures from The Hygiene Bank, over 4.2 million people in the UK are living in hygiene poverty, which means they cannot afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted.
Hygiene poverty is being unable to afford the everyday essentials such as shampoo, deodorant, and laundry detergent. It has a negative impact on people's school, work and social lives. Boots is The Hygiene Bank's founding partner and official retail partner, with donation points in over 600 stores.

Americans laugh at the state of British teeth, but at least they're mostly natural and normal, not freakishly and abnormally coloured luminous white.
But now we're in danger of having no teeth at all because of the death of affordable dentists, thanks to the Tory government.
Tumblr media
How can any caring politicians allow this to happen in Britain?
The important word is caring... and wealthy Tory millionaire politicians like Sunak, Hunt, Zahawi, Javid, Johnson and the rest clearly don't care about any of us, or our children.
