As important as career is, it’s a shadow of what is the most important thing, which is family and your close friends because they live beyond your career. Career is how you make money and hopefully you can enjoy it and be fulfilled by it, but it’s essentially how you pay the mortgage. What is important is your time on earth, how you lead your life, how you’re able to support your children and hopefully lead a relatively moral life.

[Please note, I’m actually an amateur in Japanese and have to use various resources and translation machines to help me. If you notice a possible mistake or want clarification, please bring it up to me *politely* and not aggressively or hostile.]

Thinking abt Ireland & Netherlands on their first date in like a little cafe or smth and Saoirse is yapping the whole time, talking about anything and everything, and Jan is just sorta sipping his coffee, thinking to himself that she’s just so cute and he could listen to her forever. And at some point she gets embarrassed like “oh, I’m not going on, am I?” And bc he’s so blunt he just says. “Yes.” And she’s like “oh, sorry! I’ll shut up.” And he’s like “don’t. I like it.” And she nervously smiles at him before continuing on with whatever she was talking about
