Postpone NEET PG 2023 exam news: Amid the rising demand to postpone NEET PG 2023 exam, the protesting doctors have filed a plea in the Supreme Court (SC) seeking the postponement of exam by 2–3 months.

Dr Rohan Krishnan, National Chairman of Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) said in a tweet, “Students have filed the case in supreme Court today evening.. They will get diary number tomorrow and get listing then. Shall have hearing within 3/4 days. Some senior counsel shall be fighting. We have worked really hard on this case. #NEETPG23 Kp studying! God bless.”

It may be recalled that few days ago , Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said in Lok Sabha that the government is not going to postpone NEET PG 2023 entrance exam.

The agitating doctors are regularly building pressure on the Centre to postpone NEET PG 2023 exam and are taking to Twitter to express their anguish.

“We doctors are stuck on planet earth due to mismanagement of health ministry’s incompetency of conducting #NEETPG2023 exam..when are u @mansukhmandviya coming forward to help us..Better do something on your own than quoting other,” said one student.

“PIL Has been filled in Supreme Court Wait for Details #neetmds2023 interns are going in #telangana Highcourt. If Anyone more want to become petitioners kindly inform!Today also is #NEETPG2023 interns Highcourt hearing Pray & keep studying,” said another tweet.

Last week, the protesting doctors had announced their plan to file a plea in the SC seeking the postponement of NEET PG 2023 entrance exam by 2–3 months.

Taking to Twitter, a FAIMA member named Dr Manish Jangra said they are seeking legal help in this issue.

We are officially in the 50 bracket of weight😌

It’s 59.4 but still a win is a win!

Coming down from 72kgs to 59.4 is a feat to achieve and I’m proud of myself and my will to not give up!

Life updates:

We completed internship successfully in September 2023

Came back home and attended loads of weddings

Took some time off and enjoyed being present and with family

We joined gym in November 2023 with starting weight of 72 kgs

Started preparing for neet pg 2024

Neet pg got postponed from March to July and then back to June

We joined Pulse super speciality hospital as a Resident Medical Officer and handled the private ward patients

Gym is going well and we have officially lost 13-14 kgs

We joined swimming classes but left after 7 days of training cz exams are near

Will be joining swimming lessons post exams

Will be joining hospital post exams after maybe travelling a little

Will be continuing gym to build strength and reaching a goal weight of 58-56 kgs

20/20:

This morning I realised that NEET-PG is in 20 days. I don’t want to admit it, but that is raising my anxiety by the minute.

I have a 12 hour study day scheduled and God I hope I can meet all my targets effectively today, and for the coming 20 days.

Currently starting out with Hepatology in medicine and wishing for some chocolate (or a Korean bun from the nearby café). And postponing my workout like I shouldn’t.

And it’s my brother’s birthday.

God I hope I go to bed feeling that cracking the exam is possible. I don’t want demotivation and I don’t want satisfaction that puts me out of action.

I just realised, lots of hopes from God at this point :P

Hi guys, I know this is totally stupid, but believe it or not, my entrance exams are stuck in a limbo. I know it's not at all what you were expecting, but I was going to have my exam on 23rd June, and they cancelled my exam on 11:00, 22nd June. So I'd just like to rant about the shitstorm that's going in India. Not that anyone is even going to see this.

Some of you might have heard a little about it but there's so much more.

There's a national level exam to get into residency and you get to choose the field you want based on your rank. This exam, NEET-PG is conducted every year in March.

This year it was supposed to be conducted on 3rd March, when out of nowhere the exam was pushed to 7th of July. No exact reason was given but according to speculation it was because of elections, which were in April.

After the elections, suddenly the exam was preponed 14 days and the new date given was 23rd June. When asked why it was preponed, which is rare in cases of exams rather than postponed, they claimed that centres were not available till September and that would be too late.

NEET-UG, which is the exam for undergraduates had a huge scam and 2.3 million students had given that exam so it created a lot of buzz and people questioned the sanctity of NEET-PG as well. Even though the organisations conducting these two exams are different. We were assured that everything would be fine.

Cut to 22nd of June, the night before the exam, a lot of people have reached their alloted centres and closed their books. 10 hours before the exam, we receive word that the exam has been postponed by a tweet. No apology, not even a proper notice. No idea when the exam will happen at all.

Some people even found out after reaching their centres the next day.

In the first week of July, we receive word that the exam will be on 11th of August, but due to lesser availability of centres, the exam will be held in 2 shifts. We have to re-select our preferred centres. Normally centre selection is on the basis of first come first serve, but this time it would be random allotment to reduce chances of cheating. We had to select 4 cities and we might get any city, based on availability.

City allotment was to be announced on 29th July. On 29th July, after waiting the whole day around 8:30 p.m., they released a notice that city allotment would be on 31st July.

On 31st July, the centre allotment started rolling in around 10:30 p.m. A lot of people got centres 400 km away from their home. A lot of people got centres in nearby states. And a lot of people got centres in areas which are heavily flooded at the moment.

Oh yes, did I mention multiple states in India are facing heavy floods right now? And many trains and flights have been cancelled due to heavy rains.

And to add insult to the injury, travel agents and hotels are trying to take advantage of this situation. On dates of 9th, 10th and 11th of August, hotels have been charging for upto 50k per night where the normal rate is 1.5-2k. 5 star hotels are charging 75-95k.

To further add into the fiasco, the timing of the shifts, along with the names of the centres in a whole state were leaked recently. A document that's clearly supposed to be confidential has been making the rounds on the internet.

And yet the organisation, NBE has maintained silence. There has been absolutely no transparency from their side.

This is how India treats their doctors. 200k people are going to be giving this exam. This drama has been going on for more than 6 months now and it just refuses to end. How are we even supposed to study

Neet PG getting postponed was the most mind boggling, unexpected news for us aspirants and came like a bolt from the blue, as none of us ever thought it would actually happen. When you go from preparing with all guns blazing for an exam that is two months away, to suddenly finding out that the exam is now half a year away - it disturbs you and all your plans to the very core. When the very solid ground you were standing on starts shaking, it takes quite some time to steady oneself. Similarly the exam around which our lives revolved was moved ahead by four whole months, it forced us to re evaluate and alter all our plans and schedules.

Most of us interns had planned on studying well for the exam first and then completing remaining duties later, but now this meant that we had to return to work from the very next day and also scramble to complete the postings we had skipped earlier for studies. The hospital is suddenly abuzz with a flurry of interns, although we are still vexed about how to adjust our duties and there’s an air of confusion and suspense about how things will now turn out. To me it feels like I went back in life by four months, for in a few months the situation will again be quite similar to how it was before the news struck. Maintaining the flow of studies will be an uphill task now, with no immediate exam (nearest being INI CET in May) to loom like a sword over our head.

For a couple days following the announcement we were all disconcerted, but as is the human nature we adapted ourselves to this mammoth change in our life, and as the dust is now settling we are all trying to use the additional stretch of time to our best benefit. I suppose in a way it makes sense to conduct exam in July, as we interns will be comfortably done with one year internship (April to April in our state) and then focus on the prep, but it would be better to know of this sooner than fifty days before the exam. Now it’s frustrating to know that freedom and vacation will be delayed four months. Sigh.
