Teyvat — Overture Teaser (Fontaine)

🌱 This is a bit late post, but I’m just really happy and quite overwhelmed to get a teaser from Hoyo for Fontaine! It is so surreal how last year, we just got Sumeru, and it possessed quality stories most particularly the Archon Quests. They improved with their writing considering that Inazuma was not expounded properly.

The side quests such as the Aranara, Golden Slumber, Dirge of Bilqis, and Khavarena of Good and Evil were also notable. Although not voiced, for lore enthusiasts, the stories enlightened missing portions of lore read only through books or articles scattered around the region. I particularly like the Aranara Quest despite its lengthy missions.

🌱 Moving on to Fontaine, we get a glimpse of the characters who will play major roles in the quest.

💧Freminet — Cryo Claymore — Automaton

Hoyo introduced this character first, and we see that he’s a diver of some sort based on his appearance. Lyney also mentioned that he is his older brother. Whether it would be by blood or not, we will know in the future.

💧 Lynette — Anemo Sword — Felis Alba

Next we see are the twins, Lyney and Lynette. Lynette appeared to be more robotic in a sense, and on the drip marketing, she was mentioned as Lyney’s assistant who seemed to prefer keeping to herself. She preferred Lyney to do the talking than anything else. For what reason? Still unknown to many.

It’s interesting really because Lyney seemed to care for his siblings a lot, and others may have already known but they were from the House of the Hearth headed by Arlecchino “The Knave”.

As for Lyney, he was the narrator for the teaser, and he has been hinting about the current situation in Fontaine. I’m really excited to see how things will go from here on out especially since Sumeru was a blast!

As I’m looking at her, I’m also desperate for Hoyo to have a gun shooting character. Like a gun weapon type, but I’m not sure if they’ll ever introduce another weapon type because Mika has cross-bow, and not even a new type. A big sigh of disappointment leaves my lips.

She’s so cool though! Aaah! I’m so excited to see what’s her relationship or occupation in the Court of Fontaine!

🌱 Arlecchino — The Knave

Then we got Arlecchino looking so hot and ominous at the same time! The way she talked about Lyney and Lynette as well as the traits of a good actor makes me wonder if she’s treating the situation in Fontaine as nothing more but a trivial play.

🌱 Last but not the least, we get Furina and Neuvilette.

💧 Neuvillette — ???

If others may have remembered, we already heard of Neuvillette from Nahida’s drip marketing. He’s the Chief Justice in Fontaine and the one to head any cases in the court. He also mentioned once how he admired the Dendro Archon unlike his, but I think he has some sense of respect to his archon.

He also has some theories already speculated by the mass such as him being a Khaenri’ahn because of the eyes while others think he’s an oceanid in human form. Whatever he may be, we’ll know soon. I’m definitely pulling for this daddy man 😋

As for Furina, one thing that comes to mind is she’s definitely the Hydro Archon. This is not coming from leaks or whatsoever, but from pure reasoning alone. Nahida mentioned that the Hydro Archon loved to immerse herself in the feeling of the courtroom but not engaging in it. So it means that she’s usually seen just hanging around the court and never interacting with anyone. In the trailer, she’s seeking a surprise to finally come her way. This makes me think that maybe that surprise she’s looking for will involve the Fatui and Traveler. Whatever conflict it may be, Furina wanted to find delight in that.

🌱 Anyways, that’s all! I just really want to talk about it. I may not be making sense at some parts, but I try. One more patch, and we’re finally seeing our fifth region. I’m so excited!

JING YUAN sends you his usual smirk when you tell him you have a boyfriend, so he needs to step back from you “Listen mister! Lynette picks up S/O, gently, staring at them curiously as her ears twitched.

She would have left them at home, but considering there were cats everywhere, that was not a good idea.

As for a continuation of Lifeguard! Navia, I’d say the moment her shift ends, she’s headed straight for your beach towel with the intent of asking you out on a Boardwalk date with her later tonight. The whole time during her shift, she’s not only been watching the waters, but also casting sideways glances at you from time to time to make sure you don’t somehow leave.

Every time you got up to either presumably go to the bathroom or buy a drink from the beachside bar, Navia would get a panic attack atop her watchtower, but immediately calm down once she realized you’d be back. This poor girl hadn’t even talked to you yet and she’s already getting scared of you going home during her shift. Luckily that doesn’t happen however, as the moment she sees Lifeguard! Chevreuse come out for her shift, Navia is scaling down her watchtower at world record speed…

Lifeguard! Navia is probably very eager to talk to you, but she contains her excitement and instead saunters over to you, trying to appear cool and collected. Her hips swing idly as she approaches closer to your towel, smirking and pulling down her sunglasses to check you out. Damn, you were even hotter up close. “Saw you play a pretty hard game of volleyball earlier. You’re quite good.” Navia grins and takes a seat next to you in the sand “Though, I couldn’t help but worry that you were getting dehydrated. Wouldn’t want a pretty girl like you to accidentally get heat stroke, how about I order us a drink…”

“A shame, I was getting hungry looking at them.” She said. You pulled out a second bouquet made of mints and sweet flowers, a more palatable option. She seemed happy upon seeing it.

“That’s not all! I’ve prepared, chocolates, a dinner reservation, and: this!” You handed her a most adorable teddy bear plushie. It held a plush flower, a light blue. “Oh right, and this!” Shenhe felt a bit overwhelmed as she noticed all the gifts you had prepared. She slightly wondered if she had forgotten something.

“Is… there some occasion I’ve forgotten? Our anniversary is in summer, your birthday isn’t today…” She contemplated it while you realized.

“Oh.. i never told you about valentines day. Today is Valentine’s Day.”

“Who is this Valentine?” She asked. You chuckled, feeling stupid. Of course she didn’t know about that, the Adepti must not celebrate such things.

“Well its day dedicated to romance and lovers. Lovers give gifts to each other. Often plushies or jewelry, or flowers.” You explained. “I should’ve told you about that I’m sorry.”

“No its fine… hmm.. I must find something for you then.” She paused to think once more.

“Its alright, I won’t be mad if you can’t come up with something. You can make it up to me next year.” You smiled. But your smile only furthered her determination. In your hands she placed the very hairpin she wore in her hair.

“Its really not that necessary.. this was from Cloud Retainer.. I couldn’t possibly..” she however pushed it gently back into your hands. You sighed knowing she wouldn’t back down. “Alright. You don’t need to stress out over this though.”

“You really went above and beyond this time! A home cooked meal, desserts, ooh you even made macroons! This truly is s most pleasant surprise!” Navia smiled looking upon the table.

“Indeed. Whatever you can’t finish you can give to your guards or friends, I know you don’t like left overs, but I wanted to show my love for you!” You smiled. See this truth was is that you two while very much in love, but you two are secretly competitive! You both strive to spoil each other rotten and pamper the other. Thus you wanted to ambush her!

“Well its unfortunate you made all this. I actually just brought home your favorite cake, and also this lovely bow I spotted at Chirori’s shop today! It just reminded me so much of your eyes! There was one that looked like mine too! So we have can matching bows resembling each other!” She smiled.

“Oh you didn’t have to do that! I also found your favorite necklace while I was cleaning your jewelry box! Rest assured everything is neatly stored and now dust free.” You smiled.

Navia’s guards eyed the feast, waiting so desperately for you two to wrap this up so she’d let them have some of the meal you prepared! Clearly their boss couldn’t finish it all! The glazed fish, the fresh bread rolls. But her eyes were on you.

“Really? Well then I must simply do the same for you. Since our jewelry gets mixed up and your old box was falling apart, I got you a new one! Its coming in the mail soon!”

“Excuse me boss but I’m afraid the foods going to get cold if you keep arguing!” One blurted out. The other glared at him.

She enjoyed the soup you had prepared. It was still warm thankfully, but her mind was more in you. That nightgown of yours just evoked the most sinful of imagery and thoughts.

The nation of Fontaine was lively as ever. You walked around your home town, taking in the view of nation that you were born and raised in. You had Freminet holding you hand while Lyney and Lynette walked infront of you, giving you a run down of how much has changed. You don't have much time since your father had called you into her office to discuss something which you had no idea about but you asked her for some time to spend with the kids. "Well older sister, when are you going to tell father about you and miss president?" Lyney had a slight teasing tone.

"I don't know. I'm scared she won't accept Navia," you sighed.

"Well father kept asking us if we saw anything out of the odd going on with you," Lynette spoke up as she sat down on a bench. You joined her and placed Freminet on your lap since Lyney took the remaining spot.

"Did you tell her anything?"

"Well you asked us not to tell so we didn't."

"Um..," Freminet fidgeted with his finger, "I... may have told...father."

Lyney choked on his saliva and you and Lynette stared at him wide eyed. "Oh dear god..."

"I guess we now know why she wants to discuss something with you," Lyney choked out as his twin patted him on the back. You let out a groan of fear and frustration and you didn't realize Freminet was crying until you felt him shaking.

"Hey hey why are you crying?"

"I'm sorry. I didn't know you don't father to know. B-besides, she called me into her office and I didn't want to lie. I'm sorry for crying and I'm sorry for ratting you out. Please don't be mad." He managed to speak to fluently until he sobbed at the end of his statement.

Lyney and Lynette looked at each other and then at you. They knew how scary you can be when you're angry and after all- you are the smallest version of Arlecchino, only more loving than she can be.

"I'm not mad Fremmy... I'm just kinda scared. I mean you know how father can be," you whispered softly as you kissed his head. Lyney wiped away Freminet's tears and Lynette held his hand, trying to offer some type of comfort to their baby brother.

"Big sis will never get mad at you or us. She loves us too much." Lyney was proud of his statement which only made you chuckle.

"You should head over to father now, you don't wanna make her more mad."

"You're right Lynette, take care of Fremmy while I'm gone okay." With a kiss to each of their foreheads, you left.

You stood infront of Father's office, taking in a deep breath before knocking. A sharp 'come in' was heard and you began trembling in your wits. When Arlecchino saw it was you, something changed. You gulped as you stepped forward and bowed.

"Care to tell me why I don't know you're seeing someone? Take a seat." Her sharp authoritive tone made a chill ran down your spine. You sat in the soft chair.

"F-father I-I must apologise for not telling you. I was and still am scared that you won't be supportive of my relationship."

Arlecchino arched her eyebrows, "and why is that? Is there a reason why I wouldn't be supportive? I wouldn't have been angry if you had informed me earlier but having to hear it from someone, it... it's heartbreaking."

Your eyes widened upon hearing her statement. "F-father-"

"Do you not trust me y/n? I understand I can be scary at times but I told you that you can come to me anytime."

"I'm so sorry father! I really am! I do trust you but I was scared that you won't accept her since she's not a fatui..."

"You don't need to love a Fatui, you can love whoever you want, as long as they won't break your heart. That's all that matters," Arlecchino got up and stared through the window, her back facing you. "However, I still won't accept it unless..."

"Unless?"

"Unless I meet her. Bring her to me tomorrow and I will decide if its worth supporting or not. You are dismissed."

"Of course Father." With another bow, you left her office. Arlecchino still stared through the window, but a single tear fell and a smile made it's way onto her face.

"My baby is growing up," she whispered.

The next day, you and Navia sat in Arlecchino's office, Lyney on your right, Lynette on your left and Freminet behind you. Arlecchino came in shortly after and you four bowed at her. Navia looked confused but still bowed as she wanted to make a good impression.

"You must be the one who captured my daughter's heart?"

"Yes. I'm Navia, the president of Spina di Rosula," Navia stuck out her hand and Arlecchino reprociated the action. Arlecchino then dismissed the kids, leaving the adults alone.

"That's quite impressive miss Navia. A very popular organisation indeed, however, I don't remember you being the president a couple of years ago."

"No ma'am. That was my father, unfortunately he was recently killed, leaving me to take over." Navia's voice cracked as she spoke. It was hard to bring up her father. You noticed this and grabbed her hand, rubbing a soothing thumb across her knuckles. Arlecchino also noticed this and didn't press further on the topic.

"I'm so sorry for your loss. What are your intentions with my daughter?"

"Well, I really love her alot. She's the one who stood there for me when I lost my father, she's always been there for me and I want to protect and cherish her. She's a gem and the love of my life."

Arlecchino seemed slightly pleased with her answer. "Well, I should tell you this, my daughter is a part of an important organisation that will always need her. It's one of danger and she's always busy so I hope you won't distract her from her mission or whatsoever."

"I wouldn't. Whatever she has to do, I'll be here to support her. I understand how hectic the Fatui is and I assure you, I will try my best not to distract her." Your eyes widened, how did she know?

"Hmm. Very well mannered, polite, lovable," Arlecchino took a deep breath before speaking. "I approve."

"What?! Really Father?!"

"Father?"

"I'll explain later."

Arlecchino smiled slightly before nodding. "But before we move on, I want you to promise me this, when Y/n takes over as the head of the House of Hearth, she will have alot of duties, her title will also be known as 'Father' so I would like for you to be there for her and... act the role of 'mother' for the children. They currently have a mother but she's all the way in Snezhnaya."

The smile on Navia's face widened and she beamed with joy but her joy faded away when Arlecchino's eyes turned dark. "If you ever break her heart, I will terminate the entire of your organisation and you as well along with any traces that it was ever existed." You felt Navia begin to shake slightly but you kissed her cheek.

"Oh and miss Navia, I would like for you to join us for dinner one afternoon. It would be a pleasure to host you. You're both dismissed."

When you got up, you approached Arlecchino and pulled her into a hug, not care if it was rude or so, you just wanted to hug her. "Thank you father." It took a while before she hugged you back and it was a long hug, long enough for her tears to leak but she wiped it away before you could see, unfortunately, Navia saw and smiled.

"Run along now." Before Arlecchino cries some more. You and Navia left and as you walked out, Navia jumped with joy.

"Holy shit she approved of us! Can you believe that?! That's amazing!" You chuckled at her energy and you both headed home.

Later in the night, as you and Navia were laying in bed, she suddenly climbed on top of you. "You're gonna be father to the kids soon huh?"

"Yeah."

"Then you're gonna be daddy for me, hehe~"

Once could only imagine what happened after that sentence.

Tea party!( Wait it’s water.) Neuvillette x reader

Based off a conversation I had with @its-astrotea-love

When you were born , you had a special condition that affected your taste buds , resulting in you having a more refined preference of food .

When you were young, you wouldn’t eat store made food or pre-made items , everything had to be homemade because you couldn’t stand the artificial taste .

This resulted in you becoming a world wide food critic , tasting bamboo shoot soup from Liyue , Miso Udon soup from Inazuma , Fontaine’s famous macarons from Lady Navia too .

Soon , you returned to your home land , Sumeru , but just as you got there and rested for a while , the Chief Justice of Fontaine requested for your audience for some sort of special liquid?

When you arrived at Fontaine , you never thought that the place you were supposed to be at , was actually set up like a tea party .

Tea cups there, pastries and different flavors of cake over there, teapots over there , wineglasses(ish) over there….

Wait

Teapots?

You whipped your head around to confirm to yourself that you weren’t hallucinating, and sure enough , there were 7 teapots on the elegantly decorated table.

Before you could ponder the purpose of the teapots , the door opens and you turn around to see the Chief justice of Fontaine looking right back you .

He stares at you for a few seconds and then tells you in a deep voice ,” Please , have a seat”

He gestures to the chairs and then pulls out a chair for you and then sits down across from you .

You look at his lavender eyes , and then ask in a firm voice ( you surprisingly didn’t stutter) “ If I may ask , why is the chief justice requesting my services?”

He takes one of the teapots and while you were expecting tea , perhaps green tea , all that came out was pure water .

He sets down the teapot and then notices your confused expression,” Oh , right , I have asked you to come here today to have a water-tasting session.”

You stare at him dumbfounded for a few seconds before smiling and say” Is it because I’m known for my refined tastes ?”

He nods and then proceeds to say “ Quite so , I hope you can taste the flavors in the waters , I have samples from Mondstadt, Inazuma , Sumeru , Natlan , Snezhnaya, Liyue , and The Sea of Bygone Eras .”

You stare at him before smirking ,” You picked water from the Sea of Bygone Eras? Isn’t that the water from Fontaine still?” He looks at you and then tells you ,”Technically yes and no , The Sea of Bygone Eras is apart of Fontaine , but it’s a different land entirely still .”

You nod your head in understanding, and proceed to bring the teacup placed in front of you to your lips and drink it , surprisingly , it was fresh and crisp , almost like the wind against your face .

Neuvillette notices how your face brightens up when you take a sip of the water and asks “ Do you like it ? This water is taken from Mondstadt , I find that it has a fresh and crisp feeling to it .”

You nod vigorously and start to ramble on how the flavors blend perfectly together and how the freshness of the water represents the land of freedom really well .

Soon enough you begin to eagerly sip every sample given to you and share your opinion about every one of them , while you do , you don’t notice the soft look Neuvillette has on his face and a smile appearing .

You also don’t realize what he says .

The rain of longing

A/n: Little Neuvillette manifesting piece, so he comes home on his banner lmao, feel free to rb this to manifest him too. I'll make a follow up post if he comes home lmao or not.

The rain hadn't stopped for days, not after Navia had poured her true feelings out to the Ludex himself, something that Lumine had been aware of, only because the creator themselves couldn't help but be worried for him, constantly speaking of how it was a pity that they couldn't meet him, couldn't speak to him themselves to soothe his pain.

Honestly, the creator was very benevolent, but she was getting tired of hearing the constant buzzing of their — very valid — concerns towards the weather and emotions of the Ludex. 

She was driven almost to the point of seeking out the Ludex himself at times, though it seemed like he was burying himself in work to avoid his own feelings, much to his own detriment. And the Creator had been guiding her to finish various quests and meet many of the 'characters' of Fontaine, leading to a lack of opportunities to confront the man.

It all came to a head when they found him in Poisson, standing over the grave of Navia's father. After having asked all the questions she paused, looking at Neuvillette with a complicated expression.

"The Creator noticed the increase in rain for the past few days, they know it's related to you and what Navia said…" looking off into the sky and placing a hand on her chest she continued, speaking the words they wanted so desperately to tell them, "Please don't be sad, and dry your tears, you didn't have enough information at the time. This was not your fault." She breathed out, finally speaking the words she had heard for days now, 

"That is what their grace wants to tell you."

Neuvillette stared, eyes wide and shoulders shaking slightly,

"....Please send my thanks to the Creator." He said softly, nodding as the words truly sunk into his mind. He said his goodbyes, leaving Lumine to continue on whatever quest the Creator would take her next.

He sat in his office, looking out towards the city of Fontaine, mulling over the words Lumine had relayed to him from the creator,

'Please don't be sad, and dry your tears, you didn't have enough information at the time. This was not your fault.'

"....You are truly kind, my Creator." He murmured, looking down on his cup, the swirling liquid reminiscent of the swirling torrent of his emotions. To be acknowledged, spoken to and even comforted by the creator was a special thing, things only heard and experienced by their most special vassals, mortals — and even immortals — who were blessed to bask in the eternal light of their Grace.

The stars shone as they fell from the sky, blue, purple and then some. He closed his eyes, hoping, waiting, wishing that he could be blessed by them.
