In honor of NASCAR's inaugural Corn 350 today, I wanted to highlight my favorite character from Planes, Kate the Corn Cob Girl:
Absolutely no one's doin' it like her. Bless 🌽
No one except 2018 Justin Allgaier, that is:
Fun fact, in 2018 I Tweeted Brandt to tell them how much I loved the corn racing stripes, and they Tweeted back saying that we'd see them again. THEN THEY DELETED THE TWEET AND WE NEVER SAW THE STRIPES AGAIN.
What was the corn stripes discourse behind the scenes lol
I made these works of art in honor of the late Neil Bonnett and decided to combinded them with the footage that inspired them.
I also decide to use some audio of one my favorite quotes to show his mindset ; I want show what kind of man was and how powerful the thrill of racing was for him.
The Audio and Footage used is covered under the Grounds of Fair Use.
Missed this one—and every time I’ve looked back at the 2024 calendar at a race I’ve missed I’ve been like “WHY, though. What could I possibly have been doing.” So for the sake of eliminating the mystery for my future self, I was demonstrating outside an ICE detention facility, which is one of very few actually valid reasons I would want to miss the Southern 500. At one point, we needed to move out of the way for a car that was coming to visit someone who was incarcerated, and on the walkie they said "a Subaru." I assumed it would be a Forester or something, but then a WRX with a big ol' wanggggg and an exhaust snap-crackle-popping up a storm rolled through. ✌️
As far as the race goes, congratulations to Chase Briscoe on Week 2 of the Marisa Briscoe Revenge Tour!
Oh yeah, I kinda forgot to mention it for almost a week, but I'm so happy to see Chase Briscoe and Stewart-Haas Racing go out on a high note with that thrilling Southern 500 win!
Also as a Chastain fan, I'm kind of in hell! (Also feel for Bubba and Buescher, especially with how awful the win-and-your-in format is.)
