It’s time to open a new gate:

#namegate - Why is Will Byers named Will?

All the other Byers-Hopper family members’ names start with the letter J. Except Will’s. And since the writers of the show have said that we should really pay attention to the details, this is the detail I’m paying attention to now.

Will’s full name is William Jacob Byers. So why wasn’t he named Jacob William Byers, to match Joyce, Jonathan, Jim and Jane?

The theories are:

1. Will isn’t a part of the Byers(-Hopper) family

Now ofc Will is a part of that family, but what if he’s not actually Joyce’s child and Jonathan’s brother. I have two options on this, and they both connect to the #twelvegate:

A) Will is a random lab kid (number 012) who’s parents are not Joyce and Lonnie, but who somehow after the massacre ended up living with them

Or

B) Will has a twin, who is 012, and the lab either had to exchange the twins for some reason or 012 was in the UD for some reason and Joyce and Hopper found him (meaning the original Will is dead or somewhere else)

2. Will’s name had to have a meaning, and a connection to Billy

The name William means ”Vehement protector”, and I think that might mean something in s5. What? Well Idk but I’m guessing that Will will be very protective of everyone he loves and hopefully about himself too

The connection to Billy, I think, is for a contrast. In s2 Will was possessed but managed to break out of it to warn and help, to protect, Mike and others. Billy also broke out of the possession and protected El and others.

They were also both abused by their fathers. The difference is, Billy became bad himself, but Will stayed good. (Which is why he won’t die!)

3. M for Mike is upside down W for Will

This is my oldest theory and my favorite one. Take a look at this first:

Above the yellow line is our world and below it is the UD.

We know that Will was in the UD (and still has a connection) and that Mike was the key to get him back to our world (S1 not giving up on him, finding El who could help, S2 pulling him back from those episodes and the possession…).

I read a theory (in @andiwriteordie ’s fic) about Max’s consciousness being stuck in the UD. Her body is in our world, Vecna took his mind, but when Hawkins and Russia groups grilled the shit out of him, Max’s mind got freed, but still stuck in the UD, just floating there kinda like a ghost. Therefore Max is sideways on that figure I made. She’s stuck in between worlds.

El is also in between worlds but not sideways, because she’s not stuck. She can come and go in her mind whenever she likes (maybe not whenever but you get the point). Also she’s opposite from Max, meaning that she’s probably her way to become ’unstuck’.

And those 4 names’ connection to each other would be the reason Will’s first name is William and not Jacob.

Teljesen elfelejtettem, hogy kell csajozni

Pedig régen elég expert voltam a dologban. Hetekkel ezelőtt megadta nekem egy lány az elérhetőségeit (ő sem valami expert a dologban, mert rendszeresen találkozunk (kb 30 méterre dolgozik tőlem), mégis a kollégámon keresztül küldött egy cetlit, tisztára mintha középiskolások lennénk). Most írtam neki egy sms-t (méghogy felhívjam? introvert alert), hogy jelöljön be fb-n, babysteps. 

Szerencsére vannak vállalkozó szellemű hölgyek is. Egyik bérletes csaj (szőke, mosolygós, 30 vége felé jár és határozottan kellemes külsejű/stílusú) amikor sokadszor jött be a hátsó kapun, ahol én dolgozom (pesig a főkapu közelebb lenne neki), akkor megelégelte a teszetoszaságomat, és nyitott egy “Megkérdezhetem a neved? Én Melinda vagyok” felütéssel és kezet nyújtott. 

Annyira belém verte a parát a metoo, meg az a tény, hogy 3 éve egyedül vagyok, nameg az, hogy 50 éves lettem - hogy már a legnyíltabb közeledésekre sem merek reagálni, mert az jár a fejemben, hogy “biztos csak jófej akar lenni, én meg félreértem”. 

Remélem, hogy azért valahol/valamikor átszakad ez a gát, és visszatérhetek régi önmagamhoz, de most még mindig az awkward szakaszban vagyok. Elég szar ennyi idősen újratanulni az életet.

Resolving the Descendents 4 Cinderella Dillema

Because we clearly see a blonde Cinderella in the background of D1 so while it is possible for Chad to be the biological son of rodgers and hammerstein's Cinderella (due to the genetics of this movie being bananas) that is unlikely. I also don't see any version of Cinderella abandoning their kid (except perhaps Giambattista Basile's La Gatta Cenerentola) so unless blonde Cinderella died (wich she didn't) then he is not adopted.

My solution to this problem is simple.

There are 2 cinderella's :

Ella Madden James is Chad's mom and the ruler of Cinderelasburg/Sardinia. Her fairy godmother is Fay Femarrine who used her namegic to make herself a daughter named Jane.

And

Ella Norwood Hammerstein who is Chloe's mom and has a fairy Godmother named Nadine Fei who used her magic to create a son named Asa, shortly before deciding to become a full time singer, forever retiring from the Fairy Godmother duties. She became internationally famous and for a while things were good, untill she was killed by a hater prior to D1.

Ella N met Ella M while on a tour trough Sardinia and they bonded rather quickly (for obvious reasons). at the time, Ella M was pregnant with Chad and years later, when Ella N told Ella M about Chloe, they decided to raise their kids together, wich was possible cause their kingdoms are relatively close. Naturally, Chad & Chloe grew up viewing each other as siblings (like Kenai and Koda).

Fay Femarrine ended up becoming the Fairy Godmother of both Cinderellas and their kids fter Nadine's retirement.

Okay but I do this. The downside is: first, that when namecircle overlap occurs it gets strange and you have to actively enforce those boundaries. Don’t let work people think they can call you social name just because they heard someone else call you that. Second, it makes getting credit for and building traction on your work impossible. I still do it tho, bc not everything about me is for everyone. Namegating is one way I keep track of how much of what aspects of myself I show people. The real me doesn’t want to be at work, and work does not want them there either.
