@heartcravings thank you for tagging me, this was hard but really fun 😁😊

. who was your fist bias? kris, but let's say it didn't take chanyeol long to take over :) it was so weird for me that i went around telling i have 2 biases quite some time before it dawned me that yeollie kinda became unbeatable lol

. who is your bias now? chanyeol (who would have thought) and no one else comes even close

. what was the first mv you watched by them? history. my friends wanted to show me the flapping pants lol

. what’s your favourite mv? oh my, here we go... i am a sucker for darker concepts so mama, monster, lotto and obsession are strong contestants. but... we also have electric kiss and coming over which i wish would be full mvs and goddamn kokobop with the wildest aesthetic. i cannot choose among these.

. if you could listen to one of their songs for the rest of your life, which would it be? monster? mama? thunder? overdose? lotto? heart attack? *existential crisis* one of these maybe? or a really really long song called "every exo song ever in chronological order" no this is not cheating 😛

. who would you want to see them collab with? i imagine group collabs are always hard to do and i think there is A LOT to explore by letting the members collab with each other outside of the fixed units. including yixing again would be another nice collab (yes i know everybody else before me said that too but listen, it cannot be said often enough). other than this... maybe artists the members themselves want a collab with :D this might sound so generic but all of them have different music tastes and as a group they have pulled of so many genres already - i think they have the abilities to collab with who ever tf they want 😌

. what (mv) concept do you want to see them do? want... more... dark... ye. haha jk unless... 👀 anyway, i always loved the super power thing exo has going on so i really want that to be in there somewhere, no matter the concept.... ok... i thought long about this but i could them to have something similar to one of the elyxion vcrs they already had where they were trapped in different rooms and needed to get out and escape together. these rooms can have very individual aesthetics again, so there would also be a lot of variety and space for multiple concepts and including their powers again. and we would have the typical exo motif of escaping or running from something again and also them finding each other and more important finding strength in each other which is somehow a really wholesome message i would love to convey.

. have you ever had a dream with any of the members in it? hehe yes, right now i remember 3, 2 of them utterly stupid and therefore the ones i will never ever forget lol.

first, when i was sitting on the bleachers watching kris playing basketball until he hit me in the face with one.

no. 2 had a bit more plot. i was at a ccbx concert with my sister and a friend and for some stupid reason they needed somebody on the stage and i was chosen and whatever i was supposed to do on that stage - i failed, tripped, fell and landed right on my stomach, making chanyeol who was behind me trip as well and he fell right on top of my back. and then i woke up and had to laugh so hard about this bc how did i even come up with a plot that weak and idiotic.

the third one was last night or the night before, i already start to forget it lol it wasn't silly enough, bc it actually was really anxiety inducing. sth was up with yixing. there was a rumor about him going on and i just couldn't find out what and everybody was arguing about it obviously and asking for my opinion but i didn't know anything about the entire situation and at some point i woke up and was very stressed bc for a sec i wasn't sure how real that dream was o_o

oh, and i also dreamt of an chanyeol live stream during the past 4 months but i don't remember the details - i always forget them the moment i want to write them down -.-

. if you could spend the day with one member, who would it be and what would you do? well, it would be chanyeol, obviously. and i would love to spend time in his studio with him, watching his process of making music, letting him ramble about it, because it's so endearing when he talks about music and what new things he wants to try and all that. also, music talks lead to deep talk at some point. that's just a fact. thinking about it, i wouldn't even insist on the studio setting, any setting that would make it easy for me not to feel super awkward would do and then just... talk, you know? i just really wanna hear what goes on that pretty mind of his.

. which member do you think you would get on with best? jongin. very sure about that, he is calm and hilarious at the same time and makes it easy to feel comfortable in his presence, i think. also maybe baekhyun. because even if it's the final motive of his actions, i think he creates easy-going and relaxed atmospheres very quickly and effortlessly. chanyeol, yixing, kyungsoo and me would at least have a common ground with making music and songwriting, which would make it easier for me to get along with them well too. couldn't say which would work out best tho.

. which member do you think you would argue with? actually i think yixing. because as much as it is his choice (only to a certain degree of coursen but i won't start overthinking the exact terms of his contract now, this is only a tag game xD) to work so damn hard every single day, i would non-stop tell him not to be harsh on himself and to take breaks when he needs them. i guess that would annoy the shit out of him because i think he might be just as stubborn as he's determined. though i think he wouldn't be too mad because he'd know i'm just worried about him, so we wouldn't argue forever.

. if you had to let one member scroll through you tumblr, who would it be? .......i don't know who would be more embarrassed - me or them 😂 maybe NOT kyungsoo bc he would probably want to hit me afterwards. but i guess Sehun would be an option, i think he would have understanding ajdhfjf

Eurovision 2010s: 30 - 26

30. Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz - “Midnight Gold” Georgia 2016

When rating Eurovision entrants, it’s important to also take note of the journey, and Nika Kocharov had one of the best ever? Similarly to The Shin, everyone was just about:blank towards “Midnight gold”, not understanding the concept and ranking it last in unison. Like Shin & Mariko, I was mostly intrigued and willing to give it a chance. Unlike the Shin though, I thought “Midnight Gold” was a good song for its genre, just not one I was that entheused by. The revamp, which provided the setting of a mad scientist’s laboratory, was a step in the right direction, providing a hint of entropy, a dash of absurdity, a spark of insanity. And then, at long last, the dénouement:

Winning LIFE *and* everyone over with that <3 I don’t think ANYONE could have anticipated that “Midnight gold” would deliver a non-stop absynthe-minded ACID TRIP in Stockholm. 😍 The visuals were so ICONIC they are still setting the special effects bar in the present day. This is Sacha Jean-Baptiste’s best staging. Period. Not “Euphoria”. Not “Alter ego”. Not “Fuego”. "Midnight gold”. BY FAR. Would it be even considered a stretch to go as far as saying that “Midnight Gold” has the best staging of any Eurovision entrant to date? I don’t think it does, but it is definitely a contender.

Who would have thought that THIS song would become one of the more memorable, epic entries of a great year such as 2016? Of course the flawless staging also made me retroactively appreciate “Midnight gold” as a song as well and I regularly give it play time whenever I can. 😍 STAINS OF MUD.

ps: I don’t care about fashion much, but I want his hat.

29. Naviband - “Story of my life” Belarus 2017

HEY HEY! HAYAYAYA HO!

What superlatives can I still use for describe the pure, unshattering LIGHT that is “Historija majho zyccia”? It leaks mirth from every pore, infecting everyone around it with the irresistable urge to tap their feet along to the HEY HEY HA JA JA HO’s!

At the center of this wonderful hovercraftian masterpiece lie Artiom and Ksenia, two of the most adorable humans ever to exist, who are also a couple irl and it shows. The two have chemistry and charisma in spades, especially Ksenia who is the living embodiment of the “^__^” emoji. I am ALWAYS happy when I listen to this song and I am thrilled we got to hear it twice.

Eurosnob contempt for happiness is a well-documented feature in this ranking, but it reached its nadir with Naviband: You see, in addition to being ‘A Happy Song’ (a term used with contempt, imagine that O_O), Naviband are also folk singers from Belarus, who -shocker- sing in Belarusian. However, don’t be harsh on the Eurosnobs because the area of the dopamine receptors in the brain of a Naviband hater are always attached to a person who isn’t living happily ever after. Naviband is life at its best. EMBRACE IT. Like this Lithuanian frump did:

28. Måns Zelmerlöw - “Heroes” Sweden 2015

lol I JUST spoke about “Midnight gold” having one of the best, but not the best staging. Well, that’s because “Heroes” is, in my opinion, the most visually impressive Eurovision entry of all times. 🤗 I don’t think it’s even a stretch to call it that? “Heroes” as a song is widely regarded as pretty whatever, winning due to its act. However, while I don’t necessarily disagree this is why Måns won, I feel this take very much undersells Måns. Using it at an excuse to dismiss his goodness is ridiculous.

First of all; “Heroes” IS a really, really good song. Infectuous, upbeat, irresistably positive with highly quotable lyrics (”now go sing it like a hummingbird the greatest anthem ever heard” 😍) and an earnest anti-bullying message (<3). It may not be *as* original as some of the entries ranked around it on this list, but it definitely handles its own, with and without an act.

Another defining factor in making “Heroes” a great entry is Måns himself. Måns Zelmerlöw is arguably the most attractive human to ever set a foot on a Eurovision stage. The man is irresistable even on a platonic level. He puts every other charismatic performer to shame and does it effortlessly.

However, even with these two trump cards, the staging is indeed the best part of “Heroes”. It bears repeating that I think this is the best Eurovision act to date. Impressive visual effects, flawless choreography and impeccable camerawork elevate “Heroes” to a much higher level. It tells it story with more clarity and efficacity than any other entry I can think of.

Ultimately, Måns staging is a testament of his goodness, and an acceptable reason for winning Eurovision. Because of “Heroes”, many countries have upped their staging game, resulting in more visually impressive entries (specifically the Sabotage Baptiste ones in 2016, and Sergey I guess), which is a positive development. Live music isn’t so much about which song you perform, but about how you perform it, and “Heroes” is the best example of that.

27. ZiBBZ - “Stones” Switzerland 2018

WILD JOKAH ON A GOLD THRONE

Here we are again, our annual appointment with everyone’s favourite sibling alliance. 😍 “Stones” is powerful kick-ass diamond of indie-rock and a serious contender for my favourite Swiss entry of all time.

The song is a masterclass in mental health awareness and self-empowerment, dismantling bullying and depression with perfectly timed percussion and AHUMs, truth-bombing lyrics and an insanely charismatic lead who sounds like Joss Stone on five packs a day. 😍 It’s catchier than ebola, more addictive than sugar and soars higher than a kite.

In addition to all of that jazz, “Stones” is also responsible for some of the most iconic visuals in 2018:

God the shot of Coco with the flare still sends shivers down my spine. WHAT A CRUSADER OF THE DOWNTRODDEN. 😍 Whenever I’m feeling down, this is the song that lifts me back up again.

Really, the only thing not good about ZiBBZ was the camerawork and that wasn’t their fault. FY Hans Pancake. 🙄 If ever there were a robbed NQ who deserves a Genovaesque return, it’s the Zibblings. BRING THEM BACK!!!

26. Paula Seling & Ovi - “Playing with fire” Romania 2010

Speaking of highly addictive songs, holy cow Ovi I need rehab for that beat alone because I CANNOT get it out of my head.

Anyway, who else would be the #1 for Romania if not for Paula Seling and Ovi? “Miracle” was a beautiful example of tacky taste, but “Playing with fire”, man, :takes a sip of gin:, now that is the real stuff.

I’ll start, I guess, where I’ve begun my write-up which is the composition: “Playing with fire” has one of the best underlying beats in this decade, which gives it infinite replayability. Layered on top of that is some delightfully aggressive piano (😍), on top of THAT some amazingly playful lyrics (”BOY BOY BOY If we’re mean, i would start a fight tonight” songs about playfighting <3) and on top of THAT, Paula Seling. Paula is the STAR of this performance, stealing the show every time she’s shown with deliciously flirtatious facial expressions

and some vocal masturbation in the guise of a dolphin impersonation.

She and Ovi and ignite the place with both insane pyrotechnics and spontaneous chemistry. So fun, SO GOOD, so dynamic especially for an act where the main singers sit down in front of a double-headed plexiglass piano (😍). Duncan Laurence DEAD in a motherfucking DITCH.

GEORGIA

Georgia is such a bizarre Eurovision country, often churning out absolutely BONKERS entries that leave Europe stunned in silence. <3 It may not be reflected in their vital statistics but I always look forward for what they have on offer because even in the rare case of them being boring, they are always interesting.

BELARUS

Belarus was one of the worst countries in the 00s, but in the 2010s they’ve evolved into a bargain bin Moldova, which makes them solidly good. It’s really astounding that a country SO GOOD at being entertaining gets dismissed so easily because of their flag (and dictatorship (and gay rights)). They’re mostly good and 100% worthy of our time, tyvm!!

SWEDEN

The worst part of Sweden’s success streak is that it made them conceited and lazy. They no longer need to be innovative, creative or entertaining in order to get a top five position and worse, they are fully aware of it. This resulted in a marked drop in quality and if they don’t curb their hubris quickly, I predict it will soon come back to bite them. (ie: another NQ)

SWITZERLAND

B A S I C. Zibbz and Luca did a lot of the heavy lifting here, which caused Switz to mathematically outrank Sweden, and while that’s hilarious it also feels absurd and wrong. Don’t be fooled by all that green though. Switzerland are basic bitches and have no idea what to do in order to be cool.

ROMANIA

Romania are one of the better hit-or-miss countries in Eurovision, imo even if the chart doesn’t fully reflect it. The problem I have with them is that their entries don’t have a long shelf life. Like, the Cezars and Ilincae of this world grow stale very quickly because they’re exhausting and shallow. Having said that, this is by far preferable over being consistently boring (UK) or violently oscillating between great and demonic entries (Germany, Demark).

Hello and welcome everyone to Comic Tea Party’s Week Long Book Club~! This week we’ll be focusing on Ghost Junk Sickness by Kristen Lee and Laura Lee~! (http://www.ghostjunksickness.com/)

Remember, though, that while we allow constructive criticism, our focus is to have fun and appreciate the comic. Below you will find four questions to get you started on the discussion. QUESTION 1. What has been your favorite scene in the comic so far? What specifically did you like about it?

QUESTION 2. What reason, if any, do you think is behind Vahn’s red eyes and strange tattoos? For that matter, why do you think Vahn’s health is in such shambles and their tattoos constantly bleed? What does all this have to do with Vahn’s lack of memories and nightmares?

1. My favourite scene is Boggs introduction, which I think it's super well executed (actually, that entire chapter is just ), I mean http://www.ghostjunksickness.com/comic/4-11 ? Good content right here

2. I figure those things are all related, yes, and I'm dying to know in which way and why. However, if I were to make an educated guess, I'd go and say Vahn was in a cult (highly unliky, but IMAGINE that) or at least implicated on something of the sort. Vahn's character is one of the big mysteries that makes this comic so interesting, in my opinion. Trigger hardly reacts to those tattoos and their bleeding, so figures that if he doesn't know how they came to be or what they mean, he knows something.

3. Favourite Character is a very tough one. Everyone's got a lot of personality here, so it's very hard for me to pick.. But I'm gonna go with Boggs, because she seems to be the most grounded. For all her flaws, she seems to have at least some sort of stability around her, especially if compared to Trigger and Vahn. PS: Trigger is a mess and I love him, even tho the first time I read this comic I really disliked like 90% of what he did. A second read made me softer on my views, but that boy still a mess PPS: Vahn

4. I think from a political standpoint, maybe it's not salvageable... But people have been and will keep on living on it, so does it really need saving? A lot of things have detrioriated, yes, but people are still living on it and it's not getting worse as far as I can see it, so.... But it could be deemed a project hard to back, and maybe it's easier to just call quits and leave, but I personally don't see that happening.

5. Oh, do I have to pick just one? Because I could easily pick all the chapter covers!! The interior arts are also getting progressively better as the story goes, and the choice of halftones is But I love this page, it gives me them feels http://www.ghostjunksickness.com/comic/10-34

6. I can go full-on crazy theorist on this and say that it looks like Vahn has something to do with it, even if they don't really realize or remember it and I'm also gonna say that I got the feeling The Ghost is up there somewhere also participating in this business. Also yes, I think it's gonna come into play eventually and our main characters are gonna have to deal with some harshness on that front (no way something like that could be pretty or easy to deal with).

1) My favorite scene is probably when Trigger panics about Vahn getting kidnapped and rushing after Vahn to try and save them. Trigger...Trigger is a very flawed character. Boggs is not wrong for calling Trigger out, and Trigger is real shit at expressing emotions. But in that moment? Man, Trigger was ripped raw and we finally got to see that nah, he really, really, really does care. He's just a screwed up individual with a lot of demons in the closet. It was a beautiful moment of character growth if short lived. 2) Honestly, I'm kind of on the same page as @Capitania do Azar in thinking that there's cult stuff going on. Maybe Vahn was meant to be some sacrifice to Vivian or something. Only because Vahn wasnt sacrificed but was fully prepped for it, they're stuck with the bleeding tattoos cause that tattoos really want them sacrifices to be happening. As for the nightmares and lack of memories, I assume Vahn's escape from whoever had them before was not a peaceful and mutual lets go our separate ways sort of thing.

3) My favorite character is ambassador Nyr because Nyr is tiny and wise and very adorable. And like, how can you not like Nyr? Just wants everybody to be happy and careful. 4) I think June 7 can be "saved" but that depends on your definition of saved. Like, the phrase "Rome wasn't built in a day" comes to mind. It will never be what it was, and I think for people like Fiachra, that means it's trash. But I think everyone could get the planet to a place where there's less crime and shortages. That being said, I am skeptical Nyr and Alberich will get a chance to do so. I'm pretty sure this is gonna end with the planet getting more messed up cause some politicians think they know what's best despite not even really being around much.

5) My fave illustration is definitely the first panel on this page http://www.ghostjunksickness.com/comic/10-32. There's a great blend between detail, atmsophere, particles, and blurs in the distance. It makes for a really ethereal view that makes you go, "Yup, Boggmouth was right." 6) Once again, cult stuff. Probably the same cult stuff Vahn was in. Maybe because Vahn wasn't sacrificed to Vivian right everything went haywire and the phenomenon happened cause there was excess energy just released into the world. Or something like that. But I definitely think regardless of the answer, the characters will find out. I would be surprised if there was nothing to it given things we've learnt about it through Andrew.

7. Interactions between Trigger and Vahn are super interesting and they leave me wondering about so many things, as there's clearly something unstated going on there. Then, Trigger and Boggmouths' are the best because they're so wild no context is needed, ever ahah

8. I think Vahn and Ghost are related somehow, maybe deeper than we know... The Ghost sure is happy to have found them!! And that implies some sort of connection. Figures that should be connected to Vahn's past that we don't know off, their uncharacteristic abilities and maybe even to the destructive events on the planet. And also people did mention that there were some physical similarities, which also make me wonder very much about exactly what kind of connection could there be between the two! (who knows, maybe they were on the same cult)

QUESTION 9. What sorts of art or story details have you noticed in the way the comic is crafted that you think deserves attention?

QUESTION 10. Why do you think Trigger is declaring he’s in trouble after saving Vahn? What do you think caused him to get into trouble? Further, why do you think Trigger is pushing Vahn away? Is it anger, or is there something else going on? Will he get out of trouble?

7) I definitely like seeing Vahn and Trigger interact the most. Their relationship exists in this weird place between warm and tumultuous, which makes each interaction between them kind of fascinating. I also kind of feel they bring out the worst and best each other at the same time, which is not something you usually see. Like the only real way I have to describe their relationship is "It's a mess." XD 8) I think perhaps the Ghost is one of the few survivors from the catastrophe, and that whatever happened, the Ghost got mysterious powers from it. Perhaps the Ghost was a cult member if I continue to go with the cult theory. And going with the cult theory, I assume that's how the Ghost knows Vahn, maybe even helped kidnap Vahn from wherever Vahn is from. And the Ghost wants Vahn cause Vahn's sacrifice be needed or something like that. O_O I'm just spitballing mostly.

9) Honestly, the backgrounds. Like those are some nice details on the buildings, random objects, etc. There's a lot of world character going on, and the characters definitely feel integrated into their own world because of it. I feel this comic goes past even what makes for a passable background and takes it a step beyond,, which is always admirable. 10) Honestly, I think Trigger got himself marked for death because he made a deal with the devil to save Vahn's life. And Trigger is pushing Vahn away both out of hurt because Vahn almost got themselves killed, but also cause Trigger doesn't want Vahn to get caught up in whatever his trouble is.

9. Concerning the art (and tbh, storywise a little bit too), I like it that the influences the authors pulled from are clear, but the work still screams very personal and unique. I love the care with which the backgrounds are populated, weather with characters or items that make everything feel very alive. I also really like how we are slowly knowing more about the characters, and how even the silly moments build up on them!

10. If I have not mentioned this before, I am under the suspicion that Trigger knows more than he lets on, particularly about Vahn. There's something about the way he treats them that goes beyond "oh I really care about them", you know? So figures there must be something else that that Trigger knows and we don't (and possible, not even Vahn). Now, I don't think Trigger is pushing Vahn away, at least not on purpose. I just think he's not good at dealing with emotions, his or otherwise, and that anger is a safer bet to make sure he's heard. As for getting out of trouble, I don't think so. Trigger getting in trouble is what this comic has been all about, aha

11. Character Design, for once: all characters are instantly recognizable and even tho they're all so different from each other, they all somehow make sense in the context of the story and none of them seems out of place. There's some really good character design craft in there. I like the balance between goofy/fun advantures and darkness/complicated relationships. It's easier to fall into either extremely problematic relationships with no redeeming features that make you wonder why even the characters are together, to relationships where nothing goes wrong. Between Trigger and Vahn you can see there are good things and bad things, and that's really fresh. Other relationships in the comic are also portrayed very well and are interesting to follow.

12. Honestly, the Andrew plotline gets me a little confused, but I gotta admit it's because I wasn't following it so attentively as I was Trigger and Vahn. So that's my fault in there. But I'm really anxious to find out in which way it's gonna merge with the other plotlines, and how it'll relate to The Ghost's case, ehe

QUESTION 13. What are you most looking forward to in the comic? Also, do you have any final thoughts to share overall?

QUESTION 14. Why do you think Trigger avoided Boggmouth after abandoning Boggmouth so many years ago? Was it shame, or is there something else going on with Trigger? What consequences do you think there will be for Vahn finding out this past history?

11) For me, the comic's strengths is probably the world-building and illustration. I've mentioned this before, I believe, but there's just so much detail in regards to how the world is portrayed. From the character designs, the ship designs, to how the society functions and has its own command structure. It's a really fleshed out world that has its own character, so that makes it just as interesting as the character. Thus, any exposition never feels dull, cause it feels just like learning some key development info about a person. 12) Given some of the pieces, right now I think that the catastrophe drove Andrew insane, possibly some of the others, and he started killing people around him. And someone he wound up being the last one standing. With this Roderick dude perhaps being one of the last people Andrew offed or something. And the kid in the picture looks like Vahn, so I'm gonna assume Roderick told Andrew to look out for Vahn or something. Although timeline wise Roderick couldve died much earlier in life. IDK. I definitely think Andrew murdered some people and lives with regret though.

13) I'm looking forward to getting back to Trigger cause I'm interested to see wtf is even going on with Trigger anymore. He's such an emotional wreck right now, and I want to find out why he's such an emotional wreck. 14) Honestly, I think Trigger avoided Boggmouth both out of self loathing and unsureness about how to approach it. Apologizing isn't easy at all. Even assuming you can let go of your pride regarding it, there's a decent chance the other party either won't accept your apology or will sometimes make you feel even worse, possibly for the rest of your life. And being sincerely sorry but never forgiven is frankly an awful feeling. And I kind of feel this is kind of Trigger's thought process. He feels bad, but how could he reasonably accept Boggmouth to forgive him? So instead of apologizing, he just doesn't deal with the problem because even if he does apologize, it won't fix anything. It probably won't even make him or Boggmouth feel better about it. So thus he stubbornly backs his own bullshit up because he's just not able to emotionally cope with accepting any of that. As for consequences regarding Vahn, I think very little. I think Vahn might confront Trigger about Trigger being mysterious and not sharing stuff like that. But Vahn seems pretty loyal to Trigger so I don't think they'll ditch Trigger for something like that.

13. Right now, looking forward to see Trigger again and what would come off a confrontation between him and Vahn, now that Vahn knows about His Past™. I also can't wait to know more about arm-swapping cults that include planet-destroying ghosts and space Scotland.

14. I think Trigger was a coward, but I don't blame him. It was a very difficult situation, and he was under a lot of stress and didn't know what to do, and his bad side won. I think shame and an unwilling to confront himself is mostly what's behind him avoiding Boggs for so long. But the past does have a way to find you, so he can't expect to stay hidden forever. Ahahah! As for Vahn finding out, I'm a big with @RebelVampire here. I think they may feel hurt and distrustful of Trigger for a while, but at the same time, they have already endured a lot on that relationship and they probably understand it wasn't exactly a conscious decision. Vahn doesn't look like the type to hold grudges anyway

So I didn't read enough of Ghost Junk Sickness to really answer any of the questions I don't think, but I did want to say that I really enjoyed what I did read of it. I got like 20 pages in when the Comment Storm was going on and meant to go back and read more, but life's been crazy. Anyway, I think the main characters and their dynamic were cute/fun and I'm planning to just back into it at some point when I have more time. Also, I really liked big hammer lady! (I even left a comment saying so XD) I feel like she probably isn't important but I thought she was rad.

I'm not happy about Aaron's choice. Yes, it's his choice to be with Robert and the baby. I was pro-Robron during the affair era, I supported them after the lodge. Probably it's not my fault that I can't accept all this sl, provably it's because the show failed to convince me that they should be together. I knew they were meant to be together after the lodge. But now? I just don't know

I get that the feeling towards them as a couple has changed a lot. For me, they took something away, that was important for me - that Robert wanted to change and be better for Aaron. They took the focus of Aaron and put it on Robert’s son. Instead of making it about Robert changing and being better for HIMSELF. That was something I had hoped would happen at the end of this SL, cause it would have made Robert and Aaron so much better as a couple. But it didn’t, Robert just repeated words, he told Aaron last year, to Seb. “I will try to be better for you…”

This narrative in the past that Robert put all of his wellbeing on Aaron and made his life about pleasing Aaron. This put tons of pressure on Aaron, to behold this pedestal Robert put him on - which then crumbled and Aaron ended up in Prison, to get cheated on, to add the baby. The baby is now the placeholder that Robert wants to be a better person for.

That’s it. The show didn’t let Aaron be angry with Rebecca. Ross was never the shown as “being cheated on” as well, cause they needed Rebecca as the innocent womb. Which made this whole SL so hard to swallow.

We saw tons of build-up to Robert crashing, but when it was done (way harsher, then we ever thought it would happen) and we were asking why the fuck Robert slept with Becky, the show said “yeah cause Robert is a cheat!!!” But that was not the on-screen narrative… not at all, he didn’t sleep with Rebecca, cause he couldn’t keep his dick in his pants, it was so much more - but big parts of the aftermath treated Robert as IF he was cheating cause he had fun with it. Even Chrissie made that remark, that Robert only sleeps with people, if he wants to.

Anyway we had a very harsh plot point, the cheating, with no satisfying aftermath, and its like… glossed over with a pregnancy and now a baby.

The baby itself had tons of death omens, and foreshadowing that it wouldn’t stick around, Rebecca at the baby shower, that she hates all that death stuff, then Robert telling his fathers grave he will be a dad to this kid until the day he died, he ‘soap died’ on christmas. His dream of Seb disappearing/being sick. But the baby is still here, used to link Rebecca and Robert together. We had one episode of Robert coming to terms with being a dad, that mostly involved AARON telling him to step-up. That was a theme the show kept going, anytime Robert was questioning Aaron sort of swooped in and said “but you have to be a dad to your son!” “he needs you!” “time to step up!” and Robert did.

This is how we landed here somehow, and that’s why it all feels weird. Cause Aaron went from “your unborn son I already hate” to the biggest dad!bert cheerleader besides Victoria. With almost being offscreen the whole time.

And now we get told, how Aaron is feeling, that he is happy. Instead of showing it to us… but I don’t want fan-service baby scenes, I would have wanted some build-up? Aaron talking to Liv about ‘the brat’, Aaron ACTUALLY talking about Seb in that Pub scene, that was somehow about CHAS’s pregnancy… that would have been an amazing opportunity for Aaron to voice his opinion, but he only laughed along while other characters taking the mick and he said he was happy not brave, which is fine. He doesn’t love Robert cause of the baby/situation, he loves him regardless.

That’s the framing of the SL atm, that Aaron can overcome this misery, cause he loves Robert so much, that he wants to deal with the pain. “I will handle it”

That’s were the fandom is jumping the gun a lot, people are already were we might be in a few months -> Rebecca, Robert and Aaron as a coparent unit. That hasn’t happened yet - At the moment Robert is keeping the place warm for Rebecca to regain her independence and be a fulltime-mother to Seb again. That’s what we get told at the moment, that Rebecca wants to get better and Robert/Victoria are supporting her. She will most likely get worse, before she gets better, until then we will see Robert and Aaron as a coparent unit. (at least that’s what we got told via twitter, no idea how reliable that is)

But I am just not that interested in seeing those characters as parents, that’s my biggest problem I think. I want them at their best, being scheming assholes, I am way more excited about the Joe/Robert-nonsense, then any of the baby stuff.

Liv is already a big responsibility and they are not doing the best job with her atm, why do I want another kid in the mix? That takes away screen time for amazing car chases, stunts, holding people at gunpoint xDD

I like Robert and Aaron as a couple, cause they are usually good at the high drama stuff, but this SL has been boring for aaaaages…. and aaages… and mostly on Aarons expense, he has to bury his dreams of becoming first time parents with Robert, cause Robert already done all that, went to birthing classes with Becky and was there when his son was born etc. Aaron was on the outside of this experience.

I don’t want Robert sitting between kids in at a birthday party… that’s like the LAST thing I want to see Robert doing O_O (especially when Aaron is not with him and making fun of him)

The lodge was filmed and directed under another producer, so it’s always a bit tricky to compare KO’s vision for them, with IM’s vision. They feel really different, more settled with IM, but also… more unstable? In a way, I would have never thought Robert would cheat on Aaron, but he did. That’s just not a Robert I can relate to and nothing really changed in him, that shows us that he won’t go there again. Cause all the promises, that he would be faithful, to put Aaron FIRST, he had already made them, three weeks before the cheating than happened. So its really hard to trust the show, to not go there again, when they want to add more DRAMA.
