I got to meet my baby niece today and she is the cleverest, most serene and prettiest baby in the world. Sorry other babies, Baby U is my favorite forever.

Some lady walks up to our cart: oh my goodness she's so cute!

Lady reaches out to touch her and my niece bites her.

Lady looks pissed and proceeds to tell me: You need to have better control of your child.

Me gives her a flat look: no

Lady: what?

Me: No, she defended herself. I am not going to let her think that defending herself is wrong.

Lady seems shocked by my attitude: what I wasn't-

Me moves cart away from her: you are a stranger approaching her. You reach out to touch her without her permission. She has every right to bite, scream, scratch, or whatever to get you away from her. If a man did the same thing you just did I'm sure you'd agree.

Moves to the cold food section and picks out gogurts for my awesome little niece, and proceeds to call sister and tell her how badass her kid will be.

My 1-year-old niece has two teeth, both on the bottom, and she loves trying to bite things. As soon as she gets a top tooth she'll be unstoppable!

👆 My beautiful niece is an fine art teacher and it's her pet male bird 🐦 named - A Fat (阿肥).😁 My brother’s family are all “hand-raised bird” enthusiasts, and they almost all grew up feeding their nestling with their （humans）mouths. 😊

Auntie life is the best life. My niece is hilarious. This week I took her to her very first soccer practice. She had begged to do this for years but was of course nervous. On the drive over:

Niece: I’m scared. I’m so scared.

Me: You got this kid.

Niece: I hope there’s no mean girls.

Me: fingers crossed for sweet, friendly girls.

Niece: Well. I just want average girls.

Me: Alright. ✨May your team be full of average girls. ✨

Then

Niece: There’s no boys on my team right? I hope there’s no boys.

Me: What’s wrong with boys? They’re cool to play soccer with right?

Niece: They’re all so good at it.

Me: No they’ll be beginners too sweetie. It’s a beginner team.

Niece: *cuts me a look that implies I’m a dumdum* All boys are good at soccer.

(Her big brothers and cousins are all huge and extremely good at soccer)

Cut to practice where this adorable tiny boy like half her size eyes big as dinner plates has to be nudged out on the field by his mama (he’s scared, she explained)

And my niece makes a goal on him the first drill and comes out for her water break and tells me “I think I can help him. I can guide him.”

I was like…that’s the spirit baby girl. Teamwork.

Also, she had her BlackPink water bottle for luck. It was so cute.

Best way of starting my day was both of my nieces (10 and 8) attempting to FaceTime me at the same time, like we were having a zoom meeting.

There was a lot of “I love you” and “I miss you” and “look at this Cay Cay” (my nickname for them) and “Will you come and pick us up?” And “can we stay with you this weekend since you’re off?”

And I JUST FUCKING LOVE THOSE TWO SO MUCH.

I really just hope they always know that.

Howdydoodles! It is I, the carnival anon! When's the last time you went to a carnival or amusement park or other place of limitless fun? What's your favorite ride or game you participated in there? Oh, and do you have any souvenirs of your fun? I wish you fun without end!

before my niece went on her journey, we used to go to the saffron exhibition every summer - it's this big fair with rides and unovan-style fried food monstrosities and knockoff merch at the game booths. i should say that i am not good at carnival games, but matt was alright for his part. he once won mina this thing.

its fur is plasticky. mina did not deign to take it with her.

as it stands, we go to the summer festival in ecruteak at the end of summer, and eat traditional johtonian fried food monstrosities, and fang wins tiny trinkets that they lose on the way back to the train station.
