#Mutant busters au

Winged Au ramble - by request of @dem0nguy , here ya go man1!1!1

So, the title for the au is pretty self explanatory. Wings wow, bird people. No but uh, Sheriff has wings in this au in a world where hybrids such as himself are seen as valuable and rare. Treated more like a pet and less than an actual person.

Obviously the whole apocalypse happens and yadda yadda all that, the only major difference being Sheriff is having to hide his wings, in fear of being treated like an animal and fear of having someone remove them (because prior to the apocalypse, it unfortunately was common for people involved with the black market to remove someone's hybrid features and sell them.)

The specific type of bird Sheriff has the wings of is kinda up in the air. But I am thinking Magpie because of my personal headcanon of him being Australian and also, if you've ever seen a magpie in Aus (outside of Tas, they're quite lovely there) then you'll know how aggressive those fuckers can get when people get too close to their kids (and in this case, Sheriffs family [that being La résistance])

He does a pretty good job at hiding his wings for the entirety of the show, Vegan only really being the only one to have suspicions of something because she's just naturally perceptive like that. He keeps them pressed up against his back with bandages or whatever wrapped around his torso to keep them there. It's very uncomfortable for him but he "has to do it" (spoiler: no he doesn't)

Yeah no so he does a pretty good job at hiding it up until the mission shopping episodes. I'm a little iffy on the exact details of what goes down but essentially he gets ejected from his helicopter and to avoid Y'know. Dying. He's gotta out himself and fly with his wings.

Shit goes down idk but the rest of the group are supportive of the hybrid half of him and yeah. I mean, if they can handle him being partially mutated, this is a cake walk.

Uhhh, yes Ryan is also a bird man in this. Feel I should mention this.

Guys, guys I did a thing

I made another AU (someone needs to stop me)

Ok for context first, I recently got red dead redemption (absolutely love the game btw) and the first thing I thought of while playing it was “huh, so what if I put Sheriff and Shooter in there…”

And that brings us to present day, Mutant Busters Red Dead Redemption AU:

I’ll just start off with Sheriff bc, why not?

So Sheriff in rdr is a U.S. deputy marshal, and the Sheriff of a small county in New Austin. Everyone there just calls him Sheriff, but they do know his name is Jim.

His arm is actually fine in this AU, he doesn’t have any problems with it. But in undead nightmare he had to cut off his arm. (Reference to Bagel’s ZA! AU)

Sheriff has ancestors from Ireland (explaining his red hair), who moved to the U.S. bc of the economic opportunity there. He is routinely persecuted for his heritage (bc the U.S. hates immigrants.) But because he is a lawman, most people can’t do much besides insult him.

Ryan went missing years ago, and Sheriff initially set out to find him. But he didn’t get very far, and decided to settle down as a Sheriff to try and help the people that are still around.

Shooter is an infamous bounty hunter, he got his nickname because of how trigger happy he is. And doesn’t typically tell people (especially lawmen) his real name. He’s well known for how quickly and efficiently he deals with bounties. He typically kills the person he’s hunting, except on few occasions where he needs them alive.

He clears out bounties faster than they come in, annoying a lot of other bounty hunters. So he tends to travel from county to county, clearing out bounties and trying not to piss off too many people.

He’s gets a lot of money from these bounties, and usually spends it on gambling.

Shooter has ancestors from Japan, who left for America after Japan came out of isolation. He knows a little Japanese from his parents, but doesn’t use it often. He is also occasionally persecuted, but not as often as Sheriff.

Shooter was attacked by wolves years ago, which left him with a torn ear, blind eye, and scars across his face and left arm.

He jokingly flirts with Sheriff a lot, but gets incredibly flustered when Sheriff flirts back. (Also they fall in love, because I’m obsessed with these gays and take any opportunity to make them kiss/hj)

After a gang long thought to be dead comes out of hiding, Shooter decides to go after them. Sheriff, realizing this is the same gang he thought took his brother. Joins up with Shooter. But they quickly realize this gang has been planning something huge, and they can’t handle it all by themselves. So they seek out help from a local scientist and his kids (White, Vegan-Su, BP), and an opposing gang leader (Brutux).

The gang is lead by Wart and Verruca, and they’ve been holding Ryan captive for years trying to get information out of him. Their big plan is to set an attack on the bigger counties and try to drive out all the people so they can implement their own government.

I based both Sheriff and Shooter’s designs after aspects of John Marston, just for funsies.

I could see one interaction between Sheriff, Shooter, and Marston. Where Marston joins the two at a small campsite they set up, and they talk about how strangely similar they are. Then they probably send Marston on a side quest to get a gun or something for them.

Ight that’s all I got, I might expand on what would happen with them in rdr undead nightmare. But yeah :3

Ryan was trying to get some fresh air or smth, he saw brutux there

Brutux:"Oh hey Ryan sorry I can't really talk right now because I'm looking for my books!"

Ryan: uh... How did you lost them???

brutux: idk, its probably here somewhere!

Ryan: I pretty sure you'll find all of them eventually!

*walks around and see vegan-su there*

Vegan: oh hey Ryan

Ryan: oh hey, have you any chances to see a book anywhere???

Vegan: A book??? Was it from brutux?

Ryan: uh yes-

Vegan: figured, cuz I did found a book laying on the ground somewhere, I already have it! You should probably give it to him right away.

Ryan: thanks!

*walks to brutux*

Ryan: found one of your books!

Brutux: thanks! But there's more that is missing...

Ryan: oh!...

Brutux: do you think you can gather the other ones???

Ryan: sure! How much books left???

Brutux: 50-

*Ryan looks for 49 books, but the last book looked awfully strange... It looked really dark and shadowy and it looked very cursed... It kinda frightened Ryan...*

*then he walks up to brutux*

Brutux: thanks for finding my books!!! OH THAT REMINDS ME!!! your brother is looking for you, you should probably go to him to see what's he's up to!

Ryan: o- ok...

vegan: hey Ryan sheriff is look for yo~.... NEVERMIND, pretty sure brutux told you!

*then he sees his brother, the one who wears a star and has a ginger hair... AH WHO AM I KIDDING YOU KNOW WHO IM TALKING ABT!!! ITS SHERIFF OBVIOUSLY!!! but let's see what he needs, but something weird just happened when Ryan just went up to him...*

sheriff: OH HEY RYAN, I WAS LOOKING FOR YOU BRO!!!

Ryan:...

Sheriff: so I was thinking... We should have a brother and me time, since we haven't hang out in a very long time!!!!

Ryan:...

Sheriff: ITS GONNA BE SO FUN AM I RIGHT RYAN!?

Ryan:...

Sheriff: uh... Bro???

Ryan: *stares at him*...

Sheriff: Ryan??? Bro... Are you ok???

("Kill him... Kill him.... KILL HIM NOW!!!")

Ryan: i- I'm so sorry little brother...

Sheriff: *gasp and screaming in pain*

(cuts and blood starting to pop out)

Ryan: *gasp into tears*

Sheriff: b-bu-but why???... *fells*

Ryan: no... WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!... *screaming, and gasping into tears*

After a little while he couldn't slept for a while and started to have... Nightmares...

But....

(This is from like Luna game 0, Luna game 0 was a prequel to Luna game 1, so ill probably make a 1st part of Ryan game story since this is kinda like a pilot yk??? Lmao! 😭💀🔫)

Apocalyptic Ponyo Thundercracker

I have once again been pulled by another of @keferon AUs. I love all the merformers and different ideas for the AU that have been coming out!

So, I came up for a sweet little idea that mer! Thundercracker should also have a dog, like in the comics! I like how he has Buster, so we could give him a doggo in this AU. I imagine Thundercracker as a shark mer.

There's 2 possible route we can go with it.

He adopts a seal (sea doggo) as a pet one time. Usually seals run from him and the other shark mers but this young seal gets attached to him and he decides to keep it as an emergency snacks but then grows to like it, names it Buster. He's basically "I've known Buster for day and a half, but if anything happened to him, I'd kill everyone in the room and then myself!". It is quite funny because sharks, especially big ones, eat seals and a big mer like TC has eaten seals before.

The second, even funnier option, is that Buster is just a regular land doggo. Let me explain:

So, one day TC gets into a bit of an argument with the others, so he leaves to cool off. As a shark mer, he usually travels with his group, like some sharks do irl, but sometimes he needs some alone time. He is swimming aimlessly when he notices something weird splashing rather violently on the water some distance ahead.

Sharks are opportunistic feeders, so he thinks "Nice, free snack." and goes there but then... he meets regular dog Buster.

"What the heck is that thing?!?!" - TC thinks as he circles the dog, curious.

Dogs are something he's not encountered before, since in the AU mers tend to stay in the depths and away from humans and the shore in general, plus dogs are not brought in the ocean that often. So, what is a dog doing in the middle of nowhere?

Well, Buster is Marissa's dog. She's the same, but instead of the Earth defense force, she's a professional shark diver or something similar and she brings Buster with her when she works. This time, however, Buster accidentally got overboard (like got out of the cabin when no one was looking or something like that) and got lost. She's looking for him.

TC decides to go in to investigate and maybe have a taste of this new creature. He lifts Buster out of the water to have a better look without all the splashing. Then, Buster shakes off the water, spraying TC in the face and starts to happily bark and wag his tail for being saved. TC thinks about eating him but then Buster starts sniffing, licking and rubbing against TC's hands (interesting texture+smell) and TC falls in love and decides the weird wet thing is now his.

Marissa eventually does find her dog but... Buster's just chilling with this BIG, dangerous-looking mer! Swimming circles as the dog tries to catch TC. As a diver, she knows how dangerous mers can be (see wild/savage mers in the au). Well, that's how she also ends up meeting TC.

Needless to say, TC is not happy his new friend/pet has to go, but he realizes the dog won't be able to survive long-term in the ocean. Although... he does end up becoming friends with Buster and Marissa by finding her boat when she goes diving and he also plays with Buster then. Kind of like in this video:

When the apocalypse hits, imagine TC going on a rescue mission to save his friends from the flooded city! It will be very interesting and epic!

A woman, her dog and giant sharkman friend fighting off mutants as they try and escape the flooded city and find Marissa's boat or just a working boat in general, so they can get to safety! Kind of like Resident Evil but with mutant sea monsters and the team is a little doggo, big scary shark merman and a woman with a harpoon gun/shotgun/spear?

Just now, I came up with an actual plan; fankids.

I know it seems silly, but what if we, as a (very small) community, made fankids/other OCs and made comics/fanart/etc. of them interacting.

Kinda like a co-op future AU.

Smh why are there so many AUs focusing on Sheriff but none on the other characters? Now I have to make AUs for all of them.

Mutant Shooter AU (hear me out hear me out)

So basically I was watching the earlier episodes and realised that… Shooter is really not smart. He doesn’t even know what a dictionary is (edit: he calls it a ��thing made of paper”, does he even know what a book is?)… which annoyed and confused me so much that I decided to make an entire AU based off it. You are welcome. 

Order of stuff: Storyline, design + powers for shooter, bonus notes, stuff that changes

So basically straight after the great fart, there were still a lot of people left, and most of them were kind to each other and formed little survivor camps. Mutant Shooter was wandering around, saw some humans and was fascinated by them. He loved watching them work together and be intelligent and stuff, and was particularly fascinated by their technology. He found an old gaming console one day and became obsessed. After seeing how great humans were compared to mutants, he decided to become one. But he didn’t really know how to be human. He had no idea how to do most of the things he saw humans in survivor camps do. He wanted to ask them, but even when he was disguised, they chased him away. One day, he saw a human (Sheriff) being chased by a horde of toothys. He drove them off and made a deal with Sheriff: He taught Shooter how to become human, and Shooter would protect him while he stole things. Sheriff was hesitant to trust a mutant especially after everything that had happened, but got used to Shooter after a while. Shooter wasn’t like the mindless beasts that “killed” his brother, so Sheriff was able to trust him more easily. Everything was going great for about 6-8 months, until the day Sheriff stole the morphonite. Shooter couldn’t control how compelled he was to just have it, and insisted on being the only one allowed to touch it. Sheriff was confused, but was like “sure whatever idc”. And then Vegan and BP showed up and demanded the morphonite. Sheriff and Shooter both refused. So they had a massive fight, but while they were doing that, a horde of toxic eyes appeared and they were forced to work together to defeat them. In the fight, Vegan sneakily stole the morphonite and ran away with BP. Shooter was really really mad. Sheriff was also mad. So they chased after Vegan and BP and arrived just in time to see Dr White be transformed into a human. Shooter got really really excited by this  and wanted to know how they did it. Dr White explained the antidote to them but left out the fact that it only worked for colossuses. Shooter wanted to join La Resistance to become human (he didn’t tell the others this, he just seemed really excited to join). Sheriff just wanted to continue stealing things with Shooter, but was practically forced to join thanks to Shooters nagging/ begging. 

And Panic Island happens and Wart is like “WHY ARE YOU ON THE HUMANS SIDE ISTG” and then boom- exposed and Vegan and BP are not happy about this and Sheriff is just so casual about it (and enjoys provoking their reactions) 

Also oh boy, things are not gonna go well when Shooter discovers that the antidote won’t work for him…

Everybody felt too guilty about his excitement to become human to tell him that it wasn’t possible, and he didn’t find out until Sheriff finally took him aside (some point between episode 36-37) and was like “I just wanted to make sure you knew” he did not take it very well, and was kinda depressed for days after. Then Vegan gave him a speech about how humanity is about your actions and stuff, and although he didn’t really understand it, it did make him feel better

Shooter design:

He has scales all over his body (like an alligator) that are mostly blue, with yellow and black patches (like his shirt in human form) He has spikes along his back and on his elbows and the back of his thighs, and is semi-humanoid? He also has horns, and a tail that looks like an electrical cord (Do not try to plug it in. Sheriff tried this, and it did not end well.) and I’m just gonna draw him because this is too hard to explain

Powers:

Creating complex illusions, but it’s limited (he can make himself look like other species, but hasn’t quite mastered anything other than humans yet. When he looks like a human, he will feel like a human and be practically indistinguishable from a human. He can also become invisible (like tongueX)

Yeah no that’s his only ability lol

Bonus notes:

Shooter can read, but at a very basic level

He doesn’t know what a lot of things are and will make up words to describe things

Shooter can’t do math. This has never impacted him at all because this is the apocalypse and you don’t need to know maths in the apocalypse

Sheriff is very protective of him and sees him like a younger brother (Uses him to cope with Ryan dying)

He is a child, but because he was so immature in canon to begin with there isn’t that much of a difference

BP trusts him a bit, Vegan barely trusts him (but warms up to him over time), and Valley thinks he is an adorable lil baby 

He likes to sing, and it’s very adorable. Sheriff finds his singing hilarious but has to force himself not to laugh so he doesn’t hurt Shooters feelings

Shooter can attack things by brute force, but prefers to use guns because they’re way cooler

Stuff that changes:

Sheriff is not part mutant

Brutux never joins La Resistance, and neither do Apocalipsis Samurai and Katani

Brutus would probably appear as a minor antagonist at some point, because he is literally a mafia boss theatre kid and he would make such a good antagonist

Sheriff is not the leader of La Resistance. He was really unhelpful and unenthusiastic about the whole thing, and was an asshole to everyone but shooter until episode 29, when Vegan saved him. Although he is a better person now, Vegan and BP are still kinda salty towards him

Shooter does not have any romance with vegan or Valley, because as I said before, he’s a child

So uhh haiii halloo I'm here to sumbit an AU, it's basically phighting mixed with star wars

This starts off with yo standard sci-fi AU, sci-fi sword, buster rocket, hoverboard, Cybertana, as sci-fi as hyperlaser can get etc etc.

First: it has the force, a mysterious power that can be replicated through crystals but only ones born with it can be in full mastery. Some force-sensitive inphernals include Katana, Banhammer, the SFOTH, Valk and Dom to some extent(though not powerful enough to lift objects heavier than like a pen). Sword knows some jedi tricks and philosophy from Venomshank's careful teaching but isn't force sensitive. Replicating the force through crystals is not new and done to biografts and melee soldiers of Blackrock quite often, though the replica is extremely unstable, causing quite brutal deaths among the biological volunteers.

Second: Factions all originaly came from one planet but spread throughout the solar system with technological progress, the faction war happened over a mineral and element-rich planet in the farther rings(like, Ceres distance). Lost Temple inhabits the ones closest to the sun(literally Tatooine but only one sun), Blackrock takes the ones farthest ouf, Playground is somewhere in the middle and Thieve's den takes one middle sized planet and a TON of moons.

Third, these are for specific characters: Astrobox and Shurifin skins are both results of artificial force experiments that went horribly wrong, specifically an attempt to stabilize and strengthen the power by adding some radioactive material to the crystal mixture. Both were reported missing many years ago and there wasn't a sight of them until recently after a massive subject outbreak in one of Blackrock's secret facilities. Though it was sort of a success because neither died, just severely mutated? Slingshot, Sword, Rocket and Skateboard are bounty hunters, Sling is the one who spends the most time on his day job as the cafe owner we all know and love. Valk and Dom are accountants at a bounty hunting guild, do music as a side hustle. Hyperlaser successfully resists order 66 and escapes Blackrock later on with the help of a friend(cough cough katana cough cough). Banlands is located in this universe's version of Mustafar, lava and rocks everywhere.

Ive been infected by the AU bug (Ive got like 5 different AUs for MB now help—)

HOWEVER, this does give me an excuse to ramble about said AUs >:3

So how bout I ramble about the one I ever-so-conveniently drew art for?

MUTANT BUSTERS STEAMPUNK AU :DDDDD

Ima be honest, I originally created this just so I could put the sillies in fancy outfits. But then I added lore…

(The outfits in question:)

(Before I start ima just say that none of the characters go by their aliases, bc it just wouldn’t make sense here (and like, their names are cool and get no use in the show, they need use >:/ ))

So Jim(Sheriff) and Ryan live in a poor rural town in the middle of nowhere. Ryan works as a blacksmith, and Jim is an aspiring inventor (he’s not very good at the inventing part… just the ideas.)

Ryan wants Jim to learn how to be a blacksmith like he is, because it’s a reliable job and he doesn’t see Jim going very far in his inventing career.

Obviously, Jim doesn’t listen to him.

On one particularly boring day, an aspiring entrepreneur/inventor rolls into town. He introduces himself as Max(Shooter) Kojima, and says he’s looking for someone to help jumpstart his business with him. Jim quickly volunteers, but Ryan stops him, and forces him to come home.

Jim, however, is a persistent little bitch. So he sneaks out at night and joins up with Max; who gives him a prototype bionic arm as a gift.

Somewhere along their journey, Max reveals that he stole a powerful source of energy contained in a gem (*cough* MORPHONITE *cough*) from the lead entrepreneurs, Wart and Verruca, and plans to use it for his own inventions.

Jim is honestly so awed by the gem that he doesn’t care if it was stolen or not.

(At this point, Ryan has realized Jim is missing. So he sets out on a mission to find him)

Unfortunately, Max and Jim were not the only ones after the gem. Vegan-Su and BP steal it from them, so the two set off on a mission to get it back.

When they finally confront Vegan and BP, they explain that the gem was created by their father (Dr. White) and was stolen from him. So they were trying to get it back. But Max and Jim don’t care, and just as they’re about to walk off with the gem; Alexander(Brutux) steals it from them. All four then decide to work together to get the gem back.

Alexander works for Wart and Verruca, and was sent to go find the gem. But he doesn’t actually know what it is, nor the importance of it. When Jim, Max, Vegan, and BP catch up to him, they explain that the gem was created by Dr. White. Alexander then proceeds to fanboy about Dr. White and join the group.

(Jim and Max were gonna steal the gem back, but now they’re in too deep to get out so yk….)

(Also unrelated but Jim and Max are gay for each other bc you don’t just run off with a man in the middle of the night and NOT fall in love with him.)

The five start on their way to Dr. White’s place, just before they reach it, Jim gets a letter. The letter states that Ryan has been kidnapped by Wart and Verruca, and if the gem isn’t returned to them, he will be killed.

So they change course, and head for Wart and Verruca’s business place: Panic Mechanics (I’m so good at naming things/j) They make the trade for Ryan (who thoroughly scolds Jim, but is thankful for being saved.) Then unsure of what to do next, they head to Dr. White’s place.

(Dr. White is kinda like an inventor with questionable ethics and a weird way of doing things. He’s relatively well known, but his unpredictably doesn’t make him “famous” per se. His books are what most people (including Alexander) know him for.)

When they arrive, Dr. White explains that Wart and Verruca will try to drain all the energy in the world using that gem, so everyone has to come to them for power/inventions. (Capitalism, yay)

So they head right on back to Panic Mechanics, just in time to stop Wart and Verruca’s plan, saving the world. (AND THE GAYS GET TO KISS >:D)
