Sheriff couldn’t remember when he fell for Shooter, all he knows is that at some point he did.

And now every second around him drives Sheriff insane.

They were standing outside on the roof of La Résistance headquarters. It was cold, dead of night. But for whatever reason, Shooter wanted to be up here. So Sheriff did too.

He didn’t question whatever Shooter was doing up there. He didn’t even think Shooter had noticed him for a while; stood beside him, frigid darkness surrounding them both. Shooter had his eyes trained on the sky, the rather bright sky, at that.

Having lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere, Sheriff remembers seeing the night sky, full of stars. But that was nothing like it was now.

You could see whole galaxies, almost a touch away. It was breathtaking.

But not as breathtaking as Shooter.

Sheriff thought, staring not at the sky, but the man observing it. His dark black hair almost perfectly melding with the inkiness above, endlessly sweeping the dark horizon and disappearing far beyond it. His bright yellow eyes pierce the black like a supernova. So radiant, that Sheriff swears he can see the creation of new stars inside them.

Aside from his appearance, Sheriff always took a liking to Shooter’s accent. A calming, gentle southern drawl. The kind that drifts through one ear, lingers in your mind, then drifts out the other. Leaving Sheriff only to sigh with comfort, wishing he could hear it again.

He shivers, a cold breeze piercing through the thin fabric of his jumpsuit. Shooter had the sleight of mind to put on a hoodie before coming outside. Something Sheriff now wishes he decided to do before hastily following after him.

He takes a step closer to Shooter, feeling the warmth radiating off him and longing to lean into it. If he had any nerve, maybe he would. But he always seemed to lose his otherwise cocky attitude around Shooter.

Something about the man made his insides go soft, brain turn to mush, and legs become jelly. He was lucky to be so good at hiding it. Or at least by some miracle, everyone was oblivious to it; as they all still had the notion that he was into Vegan-Su.

Vegan was pretty, sure, but he quickly realized she was not his type at all.

Sheriff shivers again, wrapping his arms around his torso, teeth chattering. “You cold Sheriff?” Shooter asks, eyes still trained on the sky.

“Ha,” Sheriff laughs, “What do you think?”

Shooter shrugs, “I think you should go grab a jacket before you freeze your ass off.”

“I’m not gonna ‘freeze my ass off,’ I’m fine!” He pulls his arms in tighter. “It’s not that cold anyways.”

“Well, you’re the one freezing I guess.”

Sheriff rolls his eyes, “Rude much.”

“What’d you expect? I’d give up my hoodie for you?” Shooter scoffs, “Hell no! It’s colder than a brass toilet seat on the shady side of an iceberg!”

Sheriff can’t help but burst into laughter. God, his sayings are endearing…

“Anyways,” Shooter starts off as Sheriff wipes tears of laughter from his eyes, “Why’d you follow me out here?”

“Why’d you come out here?”

Shooter shrugs, “I like lookin’ at the stars.”

“Let me guess, you were one of those kids who always wanted to be an astronaut?” Sheriff snickers.

“No…” Shooter hesitates, “Maybe….”

“I KNEW IT!”

“Listen it was only for a little while—“ “Shitshot’s a space nerd! You really learn something new every day!” Sheriff cackles.

Shooter rolls his eyes, red crawling up his neck and face, to the tips of his ears. Another thing Sheriff found endearing about him, was how red he got when embarrassed.

“Alright well,” Shooter turns away from Sheriff, “If you came out here to make a fool of me ya did your job.” He chuckles.

“No I just…” Sheriff struggles to think of a proper excuse as to why he followed Shooter up to the roof in the first place. “I just wanted to hang out with you.”

Shooter nods, falling for Sheriff’s half-lie, and turning to face him again. “In that case y’should really get a jacket, it’s cold.”

“Like I said, I’m fine. It isn’t that cold.” He shivers, watching his breath float away before him.

“ ‘it ain’t that cold’ he says while shiverin’ like it’s fucking Antarctica.” Shooter chuckles, “I might take pity on you just this once.”

Sheriff scoffs, “Don’t bother, I can handle a little cold.”

“Really? You’ve been slowly inchin’ closer to me ever since ya got out here.”

Sheriff turns bright red, shit I thought he wouldn’t notice?? Shooter laughs at his very obvious reaction, “I don’t mind, it’s cold after all.” He holds his arm out to the side, offering Sheriff to come closer.

Sheriff stares at him for a moment, “You really don’t mind?”

“Awh, hush up and get over here.” He smirks, “Less you’d rather freeze.”

A giddy smile overtakes Sheriff, he leans into Shooter’s side, allowing warmth to flow through him. Shooter puts his arm around Sheriff, pulling him in a little closer.

He must be cold too, Sheriff thought. But he didn’t care, this was something he had wanted for far too long.

Hello!1!1!1 I’ve got another design for you, this time being Shooters and while I’m here, I’ll talk about districts because they’re pretty simple to explain

And an alternative version with the glowy parts (because I’m a sucker for things that glow)

Anwyas, design talk now.

The drawing on the left is what he normally wears since he works from home and doesn’t need to be on the field to assist Sheriff. So he’s incredibly dressed down. It’s not like anyone’s gonna see him.

The one on the right is for rare occasions where he does need to be out there with Sheriff to assist him. Is he dressed a little femininely and slutty? Yes. Will I change it? No. I’m sure you guys will live just fine.

The eye where in canon he wears a glorified eye patch™️ has been replaced by a prototype cybernetic eye. A gift from his parents. He’s their guinea pig of sorts with it. It obviously allows for sight and can zoom in or out on certain things, it’s also got a facial recognition software in it. To Y’know…scan faces,,,ID people. Anwyays x2

Some general things about Shooter is that his parents are head mechanical engineers for the company that make the cybernetic limbs and enhancements so their family is pretty well off.

He lives in district 3 which is why in the design for him being outside his apartment has blue accents on the jacket.

Shooter has his own apartment and job but despite that, his parents give him a monthly allowance. How much it is kinda depends.

Aside from assisting Sheriff on missions, his other job is adding enhancements or modding cyber weapons, his work comes at a surprisingly cheap price and his services are popular among those living in district 1 and the underground community. He doesn’t ask questions about people’s backgrounds, he just does the job in exchange for money.

Right so that’s Shooter out of the way, let’s talk districts.

The city, oh so creatively named CyberCity is split into districts which is basically people being sorted into areas based on status and money.

The districts are as follows:

District 0:

The poorest of the poor live here and this is where most of the underground community operate due to the fact there are no cops or authority figures to keep watch and any that are there, are more often then not corrupt. Brutux resides here and controls a very large chunk of the district. It’s like a slums. Also most people refuse to wear the district colour.

District 1:

The middle class basically, people who are decent financially and don’t pose threats to society. There are cops and therefore lower crime rates but there is still the chance of having corrupt cops in the system. Sheriff & The White family live in district 1

District 2:

Not much to say. Rich pricks live here, basically no corruption in terms of security, they’re well protected.

District 3:

Politicians. The most security. They don’t care about the lower districts.

The districts also have an allocated colour and everyone has to wear something that has the colour of their district. Obviously you can wear multiple colours but your district colour has to be the dominant colour.

District colours:

0 - Red

1 - Orange

2 - Blue

3 - purple

Guys, guys I did a thing

I made another AU (someone needs to stop me)

Ok for context first, I recently got red dead redemption (absolutely love the game btw) and the first thing I thought of while playing it was “huh, so what if I put Sheriff and Shooter in there…”

And that brings us to present day, Mutant Busters Red Dead Redemption AU:

I’ll just start off with Sheriff bc, why not?

So Sheriff in rdr is a U.S. deputy marshal, and the Sheriff of a small county in New Austin. Everyone there just calls him Sheriff, but they do know his name is Jim.

His arm is actually fine in this AU, he doesn’t have any problems with it. But in undead nightmare he had to cut off his arm. (Reference to Bagel’s ZA! AU)

Sheriff has ancestors from Ireland (explaining his red hair), who moved to the U.S. bc of the economic opportunity there. He is routinely persecuted for his heritage (bc the U.S. hates immigrants.) But because he is a lawman, most people can’t do much besides insult him.

Ryan went missing years ago, and Sheriff initially set out to find him. But he didn’t get very far, and decided to settle down as a Sheriff to try and help the people that are still around.

Shooter is an infamous bounty hunter, he got his nickname because of how trigger happy he is. And doesn’t typically tell people (especially lawmen) his real name. He’s well known for how quickly and efficiently he deals with bounties. He typically kills the person he’s hunting, except on few occasions where he needs them alive.

He clears out bounties faster than they come in, annoying a lot of other bounty hunters. So he tends to travel from county to county, clearing out bounties and trying not to piss off too many people.

He’s gets a lot of money from these bounties, and usually spends it on gambling.

Shooter has ancestors from Japan, who left for America after Japan came out of isolation. He knows a little Japanese from his parents, but doesn’t use it often. He is also occasionally persecuted, but not as often as Sheriff.

Shooter was attacked by wolves years ago, which left him with a torn ear, blind eye, and scars across his face and left arm.

He jokingly flirts with Sheriff a lot, but gets incredibly flustered when Sheriff flirts back. (Also they fall in love, because I’m obsessed with these gays and take any opportunity to make them kiss/hj)

After a gang long thought to be dead comes out of hiding, Shooter decides to go after them. Sheriff, realizing this is the same gang he thought took his brother. Joins up with Shooter. But they quickly realize this gang has been planning something huge, and they can’t handle it all by themselves. So they seek out help from a local scientist and his kids (White, Vegan-Su, BP), and an opposing gang leader (Brutux).

The gang is lead by Wart and Verruca, and they’ve been holding Ryan captive for years trying to get information out of him. Their big plan is to set an attack on the bigger counties and try to drive out all the people so they can implement their own government.

I based both Sheriff and Shooter’s designs after aspects of John Marston, just for funsies.

I could see one interaction between Sheriff, Shooter, and Marston. Where Marston joins the two at a small campsite they set up, and they talk about how strangely similar they are. Then they probably send Marston on a side quest to get a gun or something for them.

Ight that’s all I got, I might expand on what would happen with them in rdr undead nightmare. But yeah :3
