I have to admit, I enjoyed the first book more. Molly the maid still has the unique characteristics that make her so loveable and such a warm presence, but I also feel like some of that was a bit lost. However, this mystery and Molly kept me reading, and overall, I loved this story.
The chapters jump between a young Molly and the present Molly, which I felt was the perfect setup for revealing the truths in this mystery because both contained the victim.
It's been a few years since the last book, and Molly is now head maid. When she prepares the hotels new tearoom for a special V.I.P. guest, she is not expecting him to drop dead. Molly, once again, is in the middle of an investigation, but can she prove her innocence this time?
I really loved this. Molly is an amazing character, and I would love to sit down and have a cup of tea with her. This is a series that is comforting and perfect for curling up with in the soon to come winter months!
Out November 28, 2023!
Thank you, Netgalley and Publisher, for this Arc!

I didn't know this was part of a series prior to my purchase, there are 17 or 18, I believe. Book 1 is called, Meet Your Baker🍰🍦🍪☕

A Good Girls Guide To Murder🔪
5/5 ⭐️
I absolutely loved this book! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time with all its twists and turns. The writing was phenomenal and the characters, especially Pip, and Ravi, were so well-developed and captivating. Pip's determination to uncover the truth was truly amazing , and the little romance subplot with Ravi was just the cherry on top, even if it was just crumbs until the end I ate it all up. Overall, if you're a fan of true crime or murder mysteries, I highly recommend this book. It's an amazing read that will keep you guessing until the very end.
Genre: YA, fiction, murder mystery

I propose that the show alternate settings/timelines with each season.
You could have one type of season be a regular season, where Holmes ends up in a new universe/time and the first episode is just him binge teasing everything he can about the rules of the universe (e.g. how does magic work, what are the characteristics of various races and so on). Then have the rest of the season being him solving murders of the week.
Then every so often have a miniseason/brief event wherein Holmes goes to a different universe and utterly exposes and wrecks the shit out of the villains plan before moving on again.
Season 1: Introduction to a DND style fantasy world, solves many murders.
Season 2: The world of Avatar the Last Airbender maybe or a world with elemental powers.
Mini-Season 1: Holmes spends two weeks on Coruscant and presents the Jedi Council with a two hundred and sixteen slide PowerPoint on why Chancellor Palpatine is a Sith Lord trying to manipulate Knight Skywalker and also this is where all his accomplices live so you can arrest them simultaneously.
Season 3: Sherlock Holmes somehow brings logic and reason to the Disc (Terry Pratchett). Samuel Vimes would much prefer it if this cocaine using detective man would stop solving murders please the Assassins Guild doesn’t like it.
Mini-Season 2: Take your pick of tv show with shadowy Illuminati-esque cabal, Blacklist, X-Files, Gargoyles, with Holmes popping up they last three days.
And so on.
If Sherlock Holmes was Isekai'd to a fantasy world he would just deduce the rules of this world and get back to solving crimes. He'll find an elf girl sidekick, name her Watson, and pretend like nothing happened.

My New Haul
This past weekend was fabulous. You will find out why once I finish another post. I have something ready here, though; I have three new books for my collection and a new journal to keep track of all my books.  The Journal is The Book Lovers Journal (My Personal Reading Record). It only has the latest three books to add to my collection and it will be pretty handy to see what I have and any…

In the woods by Tana French
In the Woods by Tana French is a thriller that pulls you in from page one and doesn’t let go. The story follows Dublin detective Rob Ryan, who’s haunted by his own past—a mysterious trauma he experienced as a child when two of his friends disappeared in the woods, leaving him alone and bloodied, with no memory of what happened. Now, years later, Rob is faced with a chillingly similar case when the body of a young girl, Katy Devlin, is discovered in those same woods.
What I love most about this novel is that it’s more than just a murder mystery. French writes with incredible psychological depth, giving us a protagonist who’s flawed, complex, and achingly human. Rob’s struggle with his memories is woven seamlessly into the present-day investigation, blurring the lines between what he’s trying to solve and what he’s desperate to remember. As the investigation heats up, so does Rob’s obsession with his own childhood trauma, making you question whether he’s even capable of solving the case objectively—or if he’s unraveling right along with it.
French’s writing style is atmospheric and moody, setting the perfect tone for the story’s dark themes. The woods themselves almost feel like a character, with an eerie presence that looms over everything. And just when you think you have the story figured out, French twists the plot in a way that’s unexpected yet deeply satisfying.
In the Woods is a slow burn that’s more about character exploration than straightforward detective work, and that’s part of its charm. It’s for anyone who enjoys a mystery that digs deep into the psyche, examining how past wounds can impact the present and how some mysteries, frustratingly, might never be fully solved. It’s a haunting, beautifully written novel that lingers with you long after the final page. If you’re ready for a psychological thriller with layers of suspense and depth, In the Woods is a must-read.

After reading AGGGTM, I have to say BECCA BELL is my favourite character. Best character in the book with a heartbreaking background. Very well written and built. Her story made me cry 😢 that ending scene in which she confesses everything to Pip…how her sister didn’t care about her pain and told her *she should be happy someone wanted her* IT BROKE ME😭

This book was certainly a wild ride! Seven different women who are unknowingly connected to each other meet and find the severed head of a man that they all knew, but in very different ways. I'll say one thing, I knew pretty early on that this dude completely deserved it.
The chapters are each from a different character's perspective, which with seven women I have to admit this was difficult for me. They are all so very different, but by the time I could easily figure out who was who off the top of my head by name alone, it was already getting pretty late in the read.
With that said, I did immensely enjoy this. The different stories were really interesting, and, overall, I thought this was a unique read. Also, I really loved how this book wraps up!
Out June 13, 2023!
