Reminder of a Starline themed BumbleKast Q&A where Ian Flynn as Starline talks about what he would have done with Sonic and Tails bodies after the events of Issue 50: [ Tw! Child Death + Taxidermy ]
Starline is such a genuinely terrifying character (who I miss everyday ahh) and his disregard for children and his willingness to mentally and physically manipulate them for his own evil purposes (especially in the context of this answer) is genuinely chilling. It’s something I think even Eggman would be semi disturbed by which is saying a lot.
The idea of him using Sonic and Tails preserved bodies as trophies and as an example to others is so insanely horrifying, and the “well then I’ll just have to start a gallery won’t I!” in response to the idea of other hero’s trying to rise up against him somehow finds a way to make it extra disturbing. The mental image of Amy, Knuckles and all their other friends seeing what Starline has done to the brothers… to their family 💔
The thought of Surge and Kit having a constant physical reminder of what they’ve done… that while Sonic and Tails may be out the way, the two unwilling doppelgangers will forever be in their shadow, unable to truly fill the roles they were forced into and the bond the brothers had. Them getting everything they thought they wanted, yet still feeling empty inside.
Long story short: Ian Flynn did not need to go this crazy with this answer but gosh am I glad he did.
Could you do another fic about how yandere the twins are for their mom?
It was an accident really, Aegon hadn't meant to say that in front of the twins.
Aegon sighed as he watched one of the guards assigned to you keep the same conversation that had been started twenty minutes ago. "Should i just have him poisoned? or maybe have false evidence planted on him and execute him for treason?" Aegon lamented as he leaned his cheek against his hand.
"Papa?" Jaehaera spoke up, having heard all of that.
"Shit, I forgot I'm babysitting." He cursed lowly before turning to his young daughter, his son not far behind. "Don't tell your mother I said that."
"He's just talking with Mama, why does he deserve to die?" Jaehaerys looked up at him.
Well, they were at the age where they could hear it so Aegon should tell them at least, they were targaryens, it was bound to happen anyways. Aegon picked up both of the twin and sat them on his lap softly. "Well, sometimes when you fall in love, not all the time. The love I have for Mama is really special. People becomes a nuisance to the relationship and can say bad things to Mama, so I don't like it when they're around her. So, he deserves to die because he could say bad things about Papa and about you both to Mama." He explained to the twins.
Jaehaera processed his words for a while. "Does that mean that weird creepy guy that Grandma Rhaenyra is married to deserves to die. Mama says he wants her to di..." Jaehaera thought of the word. "to stop being married to you."
"Hm..." Aegon barely help back his anger. "Yes, that guy deserves to die."
"If we want Mama to stay, then we have to get rid of the bad guys." Jaehaerys grumbled, looking upset by it. "Starting with that Weird Uncle."
lmaooo, who is this brave warrior hiding behind the walls of anonymity, just like nyra in the castle walls?
yes, Aegon is the only r@pist in the show, because Daemon and Viserys have never-never f@cked little girls, and Rhaenyra has never-never forced sex on Сriston, who openly expressed his disagreement~
the term "the right way" has never been used in the post, but if you ask me, yes, supplying pits with bastards is the right way, because only a real people's king will sacrifice his sperm for the sake of a show for smallfolk 😍😎
murders for their benefit? as they should! after all, someone has to be assholes against the background of the highly moral Daemon and Rhaenyra, who definitely never-never killed an innocent servant to legally f@ck 🥴
Anon obviously doesn't have critical thinking, so I'm not sure they'll see the irony. but it does not deserve a serious answer either because they deliberately distort the facts. soooo... anon, look at this ->
Aegon, as a decent family man, took his wife and children to the fighting pits to have a good time together 🥰🥰🥰
Im casually re-listening to the TOA audiobooks, and istg it is SO GOOD!!!
The humor is absolutely funny and the theme is more mature, especially with a character like Apollo/Lester Papadopoulos, who is a complex character who has done horrible stuff and good stuff and is learning to embrace his humanity.
His relationship with Meg is honestly so sweet, and the way that they grow to care for each other, and I love how they address Meg’s trauma with growing up with an abusive parent (well, ‘step father’ but Nero ABSOLUTELY doesn’t deserve that title) and how she grows as a person to the point of being able to confront him and telling him off.
I also love how it also deals with Apollo’s not so good actions, especially in the Tyrants Tomb. The antagonists are also amazing, with Nero’s ruthless nature, manipulating children for his own goal and being willing to BURN CHILDREN!! to Commodus’s over the top style that also has a cruel side to it as he is willing to slice through as many animals as he needs to and is willing to kill his subordinates on a whim to Caligula’s extremely paranoid nature, causing him to change guards so often in fear of being betrayed, while also being incredibly selfish and power hungry, willing to do whatever it takes to become the Sun God.
The story is about dealing with abusive relationships while also dealing with the trauma those relationships leave you. It also deals with learning to be a better person, and that you have the ability to change. It also deals with platonic relationships, and how meeting a person can change your life for the better.
This story made me laugh, made me ache in sadness, and made me fall in love with the characters.
Yes, I would be very interested hearing your head canon (@tim-ribbert-56) (in response to this post)
I have decided for my personal entertainment that Clarisse de Cagliostro is related to Lupin III, and here's why.
-pulls out Arsène Lupin's Wikipedia page-
In the novel La Comtesse de Cagliostro, a young Arsène Lupin (at the time going by the name Raoul d'Andrésy) was courting Clarisse d'Etigues, a young lady of a well-to-do family, and trying to win her hand, despite her father's disapproval.
Throughout the course of the novel, Lupin meets and falls in love with Joséphine Balsamo, aka the Countess of Cagliostro, and abandons Clarisse in favour of her. To clarify, Joséphine is not actually countess of anything, she is (or claims to be) a descendant of Giuseppe Balsamo aka the Count of Cagliostro (who was also count of jack shit), a famous conman from the 18th century.
Shenanigans ensue, which I will not go into in details on, but oh my god I am insane about Raoul and Joséphine, I want to dissect them and study them under a microscope. It turns out Joséphine aka Cagliostro is evil as fuck, Raoul/Lupin realizes that and goes back to Clarisse (whom he had previously abandoned like an old sock, I fucking hate this guy), marries her, and a few years later has her kid.
Unfortunately Clarisse dies in childbirth, and Joséphine, who was still around and very very pissed at Lupin (and jealous as hell of Clarisse whom, may I mention, had never personally antagonized her in any way whatsoever, Joséphine is just fucking bonkers). Joséphine also kidnaps Lupin and Clarisse's son, Jean, and raises him as her own son. (I have not yet read the following novel The revenge of Cagliostro so I don't really know what Jean's deal is, I just know he's an antagonist).
The following is my headcanon, based on these events. In the universe of Lupin III, Joséphine Balsamo was actually countess of the small kingdom of Cagliostro (maybe Giuseppe was count, maybe he conned his way into becoming count, maybe he bought the land and built a fake kingdom with a fake history, who knows).
After the events of The revenge of Cagliostro, Jean settles down in the country of Cagliostro, gets married, has a child, and that child will later have a daughter of their own, who they name Clarisse, after their late grandmother. Clarisse de Cagliostro, of Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro fame, would thus be the great-grand-daughter of Arsène Lupin, making her Lupin III's cousin/niece/whatever you call this specific degree of separation.
I am choosing to make Clarisse de Cagliostro a great-granddaughter of Arsène Lupin, rather than a granddaughter, because Arsène Lupin was very young when the events I described unfolded: he is 20 years old when he meets Clarisse d'Etigues and the whole Cagliostro debacle happens, and 25 by the time Jean is born. I'm assuming he had Lupin II much later in his life. So Jean and Lupin II (half-brothers) would have a significant difference in age, and so Jean's hypothetical child (grandchild of Arsène Lupin, so of the same generation of Lupin III) would be much older than Lupin III. Clarisse de Cagliostro is younger than him, maybe around the same age if you stretch it, so she's have to be a great-grandchild.
Now I need to read The revenge of Cagliostro and study Arsène Lupin's wikipedia page in more detail to determine when exactly Lupin II was born and who his mother was. And also where Albert's family branched out, because the fact that he's called D'Andrésy should theoretically place him as a descendant of Arsène Lupin's mother but not of Arsène Lupin himself; but Jean was also going by that last name, so who fucking knows.
No I am not insane I promise, I am just a gigantic nerd.
I still sincerely hope that hoyo doesn’t completely follow what happened with Furina, with Rhine because I like CLEARLY remember early 2023, with the ideas around her being batshit insane, just from her first design leaks and what nahida said about her having an ‘interesting’ personality . And to be fair we did get that. For like, one update. Then we got hit in the gut with her just being really sad, and oh— yeah no everything was a lie and she was acting to save everybody in Fontaine. which I’m not complaining about for her; but if they do this exact thing with Rhinedottir. Who has been NOTHING but hyped up as insane, corrupt, and horrible , I will cry.
Another thing that makes me wish I had set my oc story in the modern day is the fact that I'm dying to make sarah say "fuck around and find out" and also "god forbid women do anything" but unfortunately nothing in my research indicates that they had those exact phrases in 1796
Since he is awake, this is just some basic trivia on Naoto.
He alludes middle child energy, petty, easy to jealous, will fight dirty when it comes to it. Although, he has an odd innocence to him that many believe stems from his mother severing ties so quickly when the youngest son was born. He can come off as childish, curious, mostly predatory with his teeth always out even when smiling. The one redeeming factor is he genuinely enjoys fatherhood actively encouraging his children, although he has shown partial favoritism to his daughter.
Not a big fan of Naobito, he actively avoids his father out of fear. Although, he was a part of Shibuya thus retrieving the patriarch from the wreckages && taking the blame for failures. Naoto was alive during Toji’s departure, thus, they are cousins though he knew to not agitate the black sheep of the clan. In fact, he is acutely terrified of the memories && even has declared that is their clan’s punishment, a sin that cannot be washed away or beaten away, one must endure even in death.
Likes to play tennis, badminton, probably would have loved the new trend of pickleball. From his childhood crush, Hatsuko, he learned flower arrangements && will maim anyone who makes fun of him for it. Naoto has a bland sense of taste as he finds everything overstimulating to his senses. Yokan is his favorite dessert which is primarily served to newcomers, interestingly enough, he is an exceptional host to guest despite the thin veil of threats.
His CT is based on the manipulation of shadows, using them as a cache for weaponry, he’s hinted on the succession of a domain expansion even snorting; well, he’s 40 years old it’d be pathetic if he didn’t have one.
Doesn’t smoke or drink; always orders a mocktail, he’s a fancy boy.
To be completely fair to John Gaius. The intense, searing hatred I personally hold for the richest on this planet is kind of unparalleled. They are the ones who hold my head under the water of poverty. They are the ones pouring gasoline on the fire of climate change (climate change that will affect only the least fortunate on this planet, not them). They are the ones who wake up every day and choose to make these problems worse. They could so easily save us and they never, ever will.
If the world-saving project I had devoted my entire being to had its funding pulled in favor of something else, something that will not work and transparently exists as an escape hatch for the mega rich, I don’t think there is a word for the kind of rage I would feel.
my father trying to gaslighting me into believing i want to become a teacher and my mum advising me to seek internships in the army. who sent them, macron himself???
it’s the way people pay more attention/ talk about a grown ass rich man retiring from a racist fucking sports team then the multiple genocides, famine and war that’s going on in the world that really rubs me the wrong way
People: “OMFG why did Rhaenys not ‘Dracarys’ the Greens?!”
Same People: “Rhaenys killed hundreds of smallfolk! She deserves to rot in hell!”
***Obviously it’s not the entire fanbase - I just needed to make a point because I’m HEATED about this. The men commit literal murder (multiple times) and *heart eyes* “He’s such an iconic anti-hero.” Meanwhile, Rhaenys is escaping captivity (potentially death for her and her dragon, since she refuses to pledge for Aegon) and some commoners are lost in the ‘crossfire’ *shocked in every language* “She killed so many people - she is evil!” Interesting psychological things going on there...
