You loved going on dates. But you are both so busy. That’s a sacrifice you had to make. And not the only one. You had to give up the life your family planned for you. That’s why you rarely see your parents. You can clearly remember the day you left your childhood home, knowing that you will never live in such luxury again. All that for love. If you ever listened to your parents, you wouldn’t be sitting in a crowded restaurant on a Tuesday, across your husband who looks like he haven’t slept in ages. Sometimes you wonder what would be different if you never met him.

Your gaze wandered from him to the crowd, watching couples and families having a lovely time. So did you. But there was something more genuine in their happiness.

As you observed the scene around you, Paul already ordered two glasses of wine.

“You look beautiful tonight, Liebchen.”

He said, looking at you with that loving gaze you knew so well. This was your one year anniversary and he haven’t changed a day since. Nor his love for you.

You chuckled at the compliment, you worried so much about you looking exhausted. And even if you did, he probably wouldn’t even notice. He was holding your hand, caressing your knuckles softly, with a gaze never leaving you. No wonder you fell in love with him.

He leaned closer to you and so did you. You pressed your forehead agains his with your eyes closed. These are the moments that you are thankful for. He might not be the richest man but he loves you truly.

“The most beautiful girl I have ever seen.”

His voice was like a whisper, only you could hear it. Your minds shut off the background noises of the restaurant and you only focused on each other.

Your cute moment was disturbed by a waitress placing two wineglasses on your table. She looked exhausted and embarrassed of how long it took for her to complete such a simple order.

“Entschuldigung. Wir haben heute Abend viele Gäste.“

You smiled at the middle aged woman, letting her know that it’s okay but when you look to the side at your husband, you already know he doesn’t feel like that.

“Ja, wir verstehen... aber wir warten schon seit…”

He looked at his watch.

“…20 Minuten.”

You only speak a little bit of German but you could clearly understand that he was annoyed. He can be quite bad tempered sometimes. You placed your hand on top of his and looked at him in a way that made it clear for him that he should stop complaining right away.

“Kein Problem. Danke schön.“

You cut him off, smiling at the woman as she left. He was slightly annoyed but he knew you were right.

“You have to try being a bit nicer to people.”

You spoke in a way that made him listen. He would probably never let anyone else tell him what he should or shouldn’t do. But you are his wife.

The rest of the night went well. You had a great time, both of you. It was a while ago since he last took you out for a date.

After the dinner, you went on a walk. Since the war, the nightlife in the city was a lot more calm and quiet. The park you went to was especially dark and quiet but you didn’t even feel the cold April air, you clinged to his side so closely. You could feel the scent of his cologne, the one he used on your wedding day. You didn’t even knew he still had it.

He stopped in front of the fountain, the exact same one where he proposed. You looked around. Not much have changed since, obviously, but it was even more beautiful than you remembered.

He let you take your time, replaying the moments in your head before he gently placed his arm around your waist and reached for your hand, dragging you along with the music. There’s music? You didn’t even notice the old man with a violin on the bench.

The dimmed light hit your face in the perfect angle, making your hair shine like a sky full of stars. As the music slowly came to the end, he stopped, looking into your eyes, it made you smile. He caressed your cheeks softly before leaning down and kissing you. Just like your wedding day.

favorite place in the world you’ve visited?

- i'd say hanoi (not because of hoa lo prison trust me). half of the photos i have in my gallery is about hanoi. i just can't help but adore its beauty and culture 🥹

something you’re proud of yourself for?

- being alive lmao. other than that i think it might be the sChOLaRsHiP (i don't know what to call since it does get me a disconut for the tuition fees but not for studying abroad 💀) and prizes i've achieved. not really proud of them but at least i don't have to worry when my relatives ask about my education.

favorite books?

- i'm terrible at choosing so here are some of them: all quiet on the western front; carmen; thương nhớ mười hai; da vinci code; từ gác khuê văn đến quán trung tân; beyond band of brothers; munich: the edge of war and probably odyssey, but i haven't finish the book yet so we'll see.

have you read any of easy company’s books? if so, which ones were your favorite?

- i've read ambrose's and winters' book, but the misinformation was laying everywhere in the book, so i totally prefer winters' "beyond band of brothers" over ambrose'.

when did you join the hbo war fandom? what was the first show you watched?

- i think i first heard about band of brothers at 9, and started watching the show at 10. band of brothers is obviously the first show i watched, and from this show i discovwred about the pacific and generation kill.

something that makes your heart happy when thinking about it?

- skinny sisk. if a bit more serious then it's probably this whole fandom (ily all so much 🥹🫶💖).

favorite actor/actress and your favorite film of theirs?

- i can't decide on my favorite actor/actress so far, but i'm mostly interested in anthony boyle's role as harry crosby in masters of the air now, so i'll go with that.

do you make content for any fandoms, if so; what sort of content?

- SHITPOSTS 😭😭

favorite hbo war character and your favorite moment with them?

- obviously it's skinny sisk and i love every scene he is in 😋 lmao i remember there was a time when i got shipped with a boy in my class and my non-hbo war fan bestfriend literally yelled i got a boyfriend and he's skinny sisk 😭😭😭

- i can play the piano, not too much tho 💀
