[ANNOUNCEMENT]

As the art entails, Daily Despair Time is hosting a DRDT fan MAP/MEP! We are accepting both animators and editors for this project!

What is a MAP/MEP?

A MAP is a multi animation project, whereas a MEP is a multi editing project! Usually, a song will be divided into multiple parts, with each part being assigned to a different person to animate or edit!

What is the song?

The song we are using for the project is World's End Dancehall by wowaka, specifically the ham + JupyPhonic cover!

Are there any specific guidelines for this?

As long as it's not NSFW and 100% Danganronpa Despair Time related, you'll be perfectly fine! Ships are perfectly fine as well!

Information about the parts will be given in the discord server.

When is the deadline?

As of now, there is no deadline for completion, as not all of the parts have been claimed yet. However, the deadline to apply to join the MEP/MAP is the 21st of February! (Note: If not enough people join, we may extend it.)

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗If you have seen m.a.ps before, or have participated in one, then you will get the basic gist of this project. If not, then I can briefly explain what to expect.

Now, the simplest way I can put it is that a map (or mep) is the acronym for Multi Animator/Editor Project; this means that multiple people either come together to work on one big video, or they work separately and put their parts together to form a video (same scenario, just a different approach if you really think about it).

Some examples of maps could be SaberSparks reanimated Joshua and the Promise Land video, Eightsun's Ready As I'll Ever Be warrior cats map, and NorthFlowo's Goodbye To A World Multifandom map.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗Now....my map is actually going to be a combination of animation and editing! (Even both if you're really skilled).

This is only because I'm aware of the fact that not all sbg fans are animators; but a ton can learn to edit within a day or two. Plus, I don't think anyone has ever done this before, so it'll be fun to experiment with the idea!

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗The song you'll be animating/editing to is Smokey Eyes by Lincoln; the character we'll be using is none other than Aiden! "Why did you choose Aiden instead of a crane member like Ryan or Jasmine?" Because I personally think it fits Aiden better; Ryan already has his 'theme' song Twin Sized Mattress. Plus, I actually want to do this project, and no one's really going to interact unless it's one of the kids (LOL.....)

IDO MEP is an Imagine Dragons Multi-Editor Project using Megamix #2 by InanimateMashups on YouTube. The end credits use their I’m So Candy Mashup. Check out their Spotify for their original music! The project began in the AMV Central discord server as a short, easy MEP (the mix was only 3:35 long) for old editors to use to come back from hiatus, as the coordinator, SQ, had wanted to get back into editing. The mix was split into 15 second segments with the theme “Resurgence”. As with any MEP, the project evolved over time, and the final result is 13 segments put together by 6 editors. Back when InanimateMashups had well under 100k subscribers (in fact I feel like he was only around 10k at this time? Maybe less) I was able to contact him personally and get permission to 1. Use this mashup for the MEP and 2. get an uncompressed WAV straight from him for the MEP to use.

This was the first MEP I coordinated. I gathered a bunch of “old” editors who had not edited in a while and tried to get them editing again. I thought it would be fun to come out of hiatus together. It went okay. I created all of the transitions, the intro, and everything in the end credits, including the recreation the Imagine Dragons logo in AfterEffects. I had originally hoped the MEP would be released in early 2019, but we ended up releasing it ahead of schedule so it became kind of a christmas release for 2018.

Unfortunately, despite me trying to send this to cons, it never got much attention. Which was slightly disappointing, but oh well.

BASICALLY THE APPLICATION

Hey! The Reddit SBG server is hosting a m.a.p by yours truly, me.

Why? Boredom.

. ( I was the one who decided to host it...)...

anyways.

Basically, me and my friend, Fruity, will be hosting a Multi Animator/Editor Project surrounded around SBG. There isn't a selected song yet, but there is an option to suggest one!! Depending on what theme people want, Fruity and I will select the song that fits it the most, and start making the parts.

If there are too many people, we'll most likely have a different song so a good majority of the people can participate!

As of right now, I'm thinking of doing "Smokey Eyes" by Lincoln, which is sort of themed around the ship Aidlyn (or Tyden idk what fits more), but if there's a song suggested that I like more, then it'll change.
