It seems that this is finally it. The era of superheroes in cinema is over. I don't see Marvel recovering from this, especially not with all the boring zlisters headlining their movies, and hopefully people are tired of legacy cameos so that won't work either. And whoever thinks the new DC is gonna be good is delulusional. So, what do you think is going to be the next big thing? Videogame adaptations? Horror movies?

This is... a bit pre-emptive. Superheroes (and the "subversive" takes on Superheros a la the boys, the invincibles) are still going fairly strong and I'd give them another 3-8 years to really burn out.

I think Mravel and DC both have hills that are only gonna get steeper and steeper to climb going forward but they ARE gonna climb them and they ARE going to get rewarded with profits for a while yet.

I don't think we can really predict the next thing going forward. Video game adaptions are still soooo hit or miss and hte pool for "this could be a good movie AND is easy enough to license" is surprisingly shallow.

I think the issue goign forward is going to be the existence of theaters and non-streaming films itself, so there's gonna be a lot of shit thrown at the wall. STreaming is killing cinema mroe than superheroes or any genre ever has. Because people don't want to pay AND most movies are NOT profitable once they hit streaming.

I think we're more likely to see a return to low-mid budget films to preempt the lower returns inherent to VOD, so more comedies, dramas, etc.

I enjoyed the final. G'iah whooping Gravik's ass, and Verra going with Nick on the SABER, I'm hoping we'll see her again in the Mravels, I love her so much.❤️

Turns out Rhodey and Evertt were at New Skrullus the whole time, which makes me think when did they get replaced and how long were they there for. It sucks that Skrulls are being hunted down now, considering most of them are refugees just looking for a home.
