The Benefits of Riding an Electric Bicycle
In recent years, electric bicycles, also known as e-bikes, have gained significant popularity as an eco-friendly and efficient mode of transportation. Combining the convenience of a traditional bicycle with the power of electric motors, e-bikes offer numerous benefits that have revolutionized commuting and recreational cycling. In this article, we will explore the advantages of riding an electric bicycle and how it can positively impact individuals and the environment.
Enhanced Cycling Experience: Electric bicycles provide an enhanced cycling experience by augmenting human pedal power with electric assistance. Riders can effortlessly navigate challenging terrains, steep hills, and headwinds, thanks to the motorized assistance. This feature makes cycling more accessible to people of all fitness levels and ages, encouraging a wider range of individuals to enjoy the benefits of biking.
Increased Range and Speed: The electric assistance in e-bikes allows riders to cover greater distances and reach higher speeds with less effort. Commuters can travel longer distances without feeling fatigued, making e-bikes an excellent alternative to conventional modes of transportation. Additionally, the increased speed potential enables quicker commuting times, making e-bikes an attractive option for those seeking efficient travel in congested urban areas.
Health and Fitness Benefits: Contrary to popular belief, electric bicycles still require physical activity from the rider. While the electric motor provides assistance, riders are still required to pedal, maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. Regular e-bike usage can improve cardiovascular health, increase endurance, and help individuals burn calories. Furthermore, e-bikes allow individuals recovering from injuries or physical limitations to engage in cycling and enjoy the associated health benefits.
Environmentally Friendly: One of the most significant advantages of electric bicycles is their positive impact on the environment. E-bikes produce zero direct emissions, helping to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. By choosing an e-bike over a gas-powered vehicle for short-distance trips, individuals contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. Furthermore, e-bikes require significantly fewer resources to manufacture than cars and have a smaller carbon footprint throughout their lifecycle.
Cost-Effective: Compared to cars and motorcycles, electric bicycles are a cost-effective mode of transportation. With rising fuel prices and maintenance costs associated with traditional vehicles, e-bikes offer a more affordable option. Charging an e-bike costs only a fraction of what it takes to fuel a car or motorcycle, and the overall maintenance expenses are considerably lower. Furthermore, e-bikes can eliminate parking fees and other expenses related to car ownership, providing long-term financial benefits.
Reduced Traffic Congestion: As cities continue to face traffic congestion, e-bikes offer a solution to alleviate the problem. E-bikes can navigate through traffic more efficiently, utilizing bike lanes and bypassing congested roads. By encouraging more people to adopt e-bikes as a viable commuting option, cities can experience reduced traffic congestion and enjoy smoother traffic flow.
Conclusion: The benefits of riding an electric bicycle extend beyond personal convenience and have a positive impact on both individuals and the environment. With enhanced cycling experiences, increased range and speed, health and fitness benefits, eco-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and reduced traffic congestion, e-bikes have emerged as a sustainable alternative to traditional modes of transportation. By embracing e-bikes, individuals can enjoy the advantages they offer while actively contributing to a greener and healthier future.

hello. alexalblondo's rude anon coming here to humbly and politely beg for galex primer because i dont understand their history. george said he lived at alex's family's house at one point? how - weren't they already racing? sorry thank you humble thank you 🙏🙏
hello!!! thanks chris for the referral FKFJDKD
i have overwhelmed my alex and george tags so much that i fear i could never capture all of it but my galex key moment anthology is under the cut!!
karting/early single seaters
Alex thinks they met in 2011 but the footage in georges flip phone says he knew alex back in 2009.
Their first actual interaction (so far as they've told the world) was when alex was world champion with the intrepid karting team and bc he was their reference driver he was asked to help pick the drivers who were quick to replace him when he moved up and he picked george (and charles) so they were then part of that same intrepid driver programme for a while. Interestingly, alex was always at least one year above him bc of their ages and george says the fact they didn't really race directly against each other before 2016 was probably why they became such good friends.
They did a deep dive of their camera rolls from this time on twitch a couple years back and talked about the oldest pictures they have of each other in their camera rolls (1:25:36) which was cute.
2017
2017 is the year george basically lived with alex. They were also sharing a trainer whilst alex was competing in gp2 and george was in gp3. George was doing mercedes sim work at their factory so rented a flat in milton keynes near where alex lived but according to alex that rent was wasted money bc george had more meals at alexs' house than he did that year. Also as detailed in those links, the Great Mountain Biking Incident of 2017 occurred at this time so we have the fun mental image of george literally wheeling alex into a&e on a wheelchair bc that is an actual event that happened.
2018
George and alex both in f2 fighting for the title year wooooo!! They never really fought on track but we did get fun tidbits like when alex pipped george to the win at silverstone bc george had a slow pit stop and giggled about it in parc ferme (5:42) & these post session interviews.
also some incredible photoshoots.
2019
Promotion to f1!!! We started the year at winter testing and this nugget that they have both accepted that they are actually tied together by the strings of fate. They're doing fun media stuff like karting and bullying each other over percentage of apexs hit at the skypad (video). 2019 also the start of the umbrella sharing. They were just together a lot… more skypad analysis!!!
2019 also has MY personal favourite galex moment which was hockenheim 2019 and the 45 minute phone call galex had on the way home after george missed out on scoring what would have been his first point in f1 and only point of the season.
There was also the summer break and enjoying a training camp together, exchanging infections etc. Alex also took george to meet lily for the first time, bc that’s a normal thing to do.
There was also the rookie of the year vid, and the rookie season review vid at the end of the year. Much was happening.
2020
The year started with f1 trying to race during a global pandemic. Fun! On the singular media day before everyone realised just how stupid that was they were being annoying. The lockdowns did give us the twitch streams. George was initially so bad at virtual racing he had to secretly consult alex's brother for help behind alexs back. George was also actively seeking alex out like a missile at any given opportunity and at one point felt necessary to declare that he wasn't alexs boyfriend when someone asked if alex was going to be streaming that day. Anyway my lockdown twitchscapades tag has a post with a playlist of all the streams that haven't been lost or deleted if you want to feel joy and have a spare million hours.
Racing resumed in July with the covid team bubbles and within two races and one qualifying session george was defending alexs honour to sky sports and the world in a truly remarkable fashion.
At the end of the year alex was unemployed....even more tragic than this loss was that alexs career difficulties were so extreme he started ghosting george, which devastated him to the extent he needed to publicly drag him for it.
There was also george asking lily to post alexs n*des on instagram and lily responding with if anyone has them it would be you which was perhaps the last time george had access to his own social media password.
Despite george not liking it they celebrated alexs first podium by going golfing! and reverse! George was also gifted an alex albon signed autograph card for christmas and said that he'll put it somewhere special x
2021
The beginning of 2021 was during lockdown and there was more fun virtual gps except the only two drivers doing it were george and alex so they were just bitching and gossiping and threatening to steal strategies and abu dhabi 2016 each other. Particular shoutout to the time they had a virtual race on valentines day and alex put a suit on for it and george was baffled. Immediately after valentines day was georges birthday which lily used to thank george for letting her borrow his boyfriend from time to time.
Then the season started with george enduring the season alexless and not letting anyone forget about it. Alex was turning up to races after being locked in the simulator until the early hours posting stuff like this on instagram and otherwise stumbling over his words after getting whipped on the ass.
Perhaps the defining moment of the galex 2021 season was george pushing the williams board to sign alex so heavily that they had to actively shut him out of proceedings. Also at this time there was this cute congrats from alexs family and one from alex to georgie about the mercedes seat.
anyway here's some more random 2021 nuggets:
i've seen him topless a few times
george getting alex a good deal on a merc x
yet More golf
the handover
georges driver room
2022
They truly lost every inch of personal space in 2022 like. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. The back signing Hello.
2022 had alex having his appendix out, nearly dying and alexs family updating george whilst alex was in the icu and then when alex returned for the next race in signapore a couple weeks later (insane behaviour) george was like mmm audacious of him to be here.
Elsewhere alex discovered georges photoshoot and was making screensavers about it. Alex also discovered hair dye and george was making instagram stories about it.
other random 2022 nuggets:
george is alexs fave f1 driver excluding himself
this skit williams did of lily finding a huge picture of george in alexs driver room
whatever this image is of lily george and alex
private plane carpool
double date
2023
@onadarklingplain covers the whole year for you much MUCH better than i ever could here!!!!!
and that brings us to present where they're just as weird and freaky with each other as ever!!!
#hopefully it answers at least some of ur questions!!!#i would perfect this but frankly i have spent like. seven hours. on this so im just hitting post. godspeed!#galex#asks#anon#alex albon#george russell

Cant believe people saw this and didn't find anything in it. Letterboxd reviewers i shant trust you again lmao
Anyway this shit was great. So many themes I enjoyed in this and fun theories I got out of what was left unsaid.
Let's start with dad. How many times has dad been to this little mountain resort? Whose to say. When dad meets our cuckoo specialist, dad has this strange expression on his face, almost like a struggle between a grimace and a smile before finally making a friendly remark.
When Gretchen first arrives in town, the woman comes to visit. Alma, the sister and as we later find out, one of the cuckoos, is with her surrogate mother (Beth) and dad so mommy dearest can't come to visit. Instead of watching from afar her darling daughter, she goes into the bathroom and tries to get in Gretchen's stall. Oh? Why is that?
Fast forward to the night Gretchen is biking home. Mommy dearest reaches out a hand to Gretchen while chasing her, easily could be to attack her. Could be.
Mom follows her to the hospital yet does not attack, only drawing nearer. She doesn't try to break the glass with super human strength. She just draws close to her.
Momma dear goes to Ed's car and flings Ed away. Obviously, she has the strength to flip the car if she wanted with Gretchen inside. But she doesn't seem to be hunting otherwise she would have tried to attack Ed instead of moving Ed out of the way. Mom reaches out to Gretchen with her horrible scream—or calling? Before getting shot at and runs away.
Gretchen is now in the lover's nest. And when momma dearest is caught by Gretchen, she does not attack. She also doesn't make her call. She doesn't need to as Gretchen isn't moving away from her anymore, isn't running away. Again, mother is shot off the scene.
In the hospital as Gretchen tries to escape with Alma, mother tries to follow the girls. When the shelves fall, mother escapes and searches desperatly for Gretchen, using her horrific scream. But she does not harm Gretchen. Nor attack her.
After Gretchen stabs mother and flees, she stops to watch as mother follows, reaching out, unable to make her horrific call anymore. Gretchen returns to the freshly made corpse and stares at features on mother's face that resemble her own.
As Alma is taken by Gretchen to freedom, she says with conviction that her sister will be okay.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
Let's back pedal to Alma. The doctor notes that the little girl has a striking resemblance to her surrogate mother, implying this normally isn't the case.
We also know there is some variation between the cuckoos and what they present like, and that the doctors have been working on making them stronger. In addition we know that their characteristics rapidly increase when touched by the mother.
Here's my theory. Long ago, dad met Gretchen's mother. They fall in love and move to America with baby Gretchen... a cuckoo who never ends up developing her cuckoo abilities like a recessive trait. Unknown backstory I wish to know.
Years later Dad meets Beth and goes to the mountains on their honeymoon and have Alma. Except Beth is of course the surrogate. Alma is a much stronger crop of cuckoo. Her vocal chords are cuckoo expressive even before meeting her mother, which causes her muteness. Again, they mention that cuckoos have basically been breeded for certain traits to strengthen them. It makes sense if Alma is more cuckoo expressive than... Gretchen.
Now my only question is, did Gretchen's surrogate mother actually die or was she abducted and brought back to the facility to repopulate her species? This could also explain why dad might come back to continue this project begrudgingly despite having initially run away to America. Is it possible Gretchen's birth mother was a cuckoo whose genetic makeup more resembled humans than the cuckoos and her own cuckoo development was long delayed without contact with her own cuckoo mother (cuz she moved to America)? And thus when she had Gretchen as a human would, Gretchen also did not develop cuckoo tendencies as she was conceived the human way? Idk. I just like the idea that Gretchen's birth mom wasn't dead the whole time and that cuckoo phenotypes could be recessive or even repressed until they get older. If this is true, I think the reason why the German guy doesnt care about Gretchen's life is because he thinks she is too human because she was conceived like a human. He doesn't realize mother still cares for her daughter even after she transforms into her cuckoo form. It also adds extra tragedy to Gretchen's kill of the cuckoo mother, the one daughter she had out of love.
That debate with the ex cop and Gretchen about Alma just feels more powerful if it comes from Gretchen knowing that Alma doesn't have to be like her cuckoo mom instead of just believing it strongly.
Which brings us to one of the most important elements of this story. The sister-sister bond. Alma and Gretchen come to rely on each other as sisters. Even when Alma is technically a monster, Gretchen still protects and cares about her sister. Is that alone not moving? We see Gretchen's empathy in an earlier scene too with the ex cop. As he sits across from her having recently killed someone, his head is down on the table. Gretchen reaches towards him for a long bit of silence and we're unsure what she's reaching for. Her hand goes over the knife and we think maybe she's going for it to protect herself. But then it goes past. Is she reaching for the gun? But no... she's reaching for his hand... to comfort him. I think this theme of empathy and caring is an important detail that frames how we should interpret the overall story, and force us to question the cuckoo's role in the narrative.
Really want to read the script just for a description of the body language. When mother cuckoo reaches her hand out, its not like an agressive grasp, but a pleading hand.
Lastly: I think Gretchen's relationship with her mother is very telling. She isnt over her death and speaks to her over the phone as if her mother were still alive, like shes clinging to her mother as she once knew her. The cuckoos form especially when the wig was taken off made me wonder if this is meant to be a metaphor for the monster that is terminal illness. The way terminal illnesses can transform the body of its victims into something unrecognizable and the fear that invokes in the people who love them. I think this too was a metaphor for grief. When Gretchen kills the cuckoo mother, I think metaphorically, she's letting go of her mother.
Idk I had a lot of fun watching the movie clearly. I found the idea of the monster seeking out love for her child instead of violence really compelling. And the affection between the sisters was also very sweet. Even when I know you're a monster, I still care about you. Just very precious. Definitly worth a rewatch just so I can feed my theory demons some extra food haha

Arthur The King Review
Eeeey it's the Mahky Mahk dahg movie! Funnily enough, I've had the exact opposite pre-experience with Arthur the King than I've had with a movie like Imaginary. Which is to say I saw the poster, we showed the trailer, but as soon as it came out there was crickets. I haven't looked, but I also haven't heard a single thing about the movie. I was not looking forward to this, even though the trailer was good. One, I am vehemently a cat person. And two, I hate Mark Wahlberg. He's a racist asshole who can't act.
What's The Movie About?
Marky Mark is a runner who is competing in the Adventure Games in the Dominican Republic. Along the way his team finds a stray dog that follows them throughout the race.
What I Like.
The racing, mostly. If you remember that show the Amazing Race, it was kinda like that except it's in one location and all the participants are suicidal. Simu Liu plays a jerk, but he's so goddamn charismatic that I liked him despite that. The locations they shoot at are also very pretty. I liked that they didn't translate any of the Spanish in the movie, so if you didn't speak the language than you just had to pick things up through context clues.
What I Didn't Like.
Funnily enough, my two biggest problems are Mark Wahlberg and the dog. I'll say it again, Marky Mark cannot fucking act. His character is pig-headed and stubborn, and it's revealed at one point that he spent all of his wife's savings to run this super dangerous race. And she tells him at the end of the movie that she's pregnant! (Marky Mark also doesn't know what poor people are, since he's in dire financial straits but he still owns a pretty nice house in the mountains with a pool and eats steak for dinner every night.) This movie has a hilarious ego trip scene where Marky Mark carries two bikes and an adult woman across a zipline in one go like he's a goddamn super soldier or some shit. Speaking of unintended hilarity, there were several moments where something that was supposed to be dramatic was happening, and but I had to stop myself from bursting out laughing. Funnily enough, almost all the dramatic moments had the super obvious product placement happening during them. I usually don't mention product placements in movies (because that's what the companies want) but I want Nissan to be forever associated with the line, "My dad has cancer!" Both of the women characters all suck. The first is Marky Mark's wife, who not only is the breadwinner of the house, but literally just exists to support her husband as he tries to get himself killed. The other is one of the team members in the race, and her deal is daddy issues. She also weirdly gets coddled throughout the movie (She's the one who has to get saved on the zipline.) even though she's clearly the team member in the best shape. The camera work, additionally, sucks. It along with the editing are incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes it's shot in standard, sometimes it's clearly hand held, other times it's back-to-back drone shots. Sometimes you can see how the racers are running and where they are going, other times it's impossible to parse because of close-ups of Marky Mark's face and, of goddamn course, shaky cam! The structure of the movie as a whole is like that. One second everyone is buddy-buddy, then at a turn of a dime everyone is yelling at each other, then the dime turns again and its back to quips and goofs.
Finally, let's talk about that stupid dog. The dog is cute. Whatever. You might think from the trailer that the entire movie is gonna be Marky Mark's team running with this dog, but the dog doesn't even meet the team until halfway through the movie. We still see him, but's it's just shots of him wandering around the slums getting chased by other dogs in goofy scenes. Once he joins up with the team it's mostly fine, but then the ending happens. The ending was so saccharine that I got a cavity. I kinda hate that I watched with movie with other patrons in the theater, because I have never wanted to yell, "Just kill the damn dog already!" more in my life. The ending is nonsense. They pretend this dog is gonna die like three times, and he never fucking does. I know this makes me sounds like a miserable bastard, but that dog should've died. "But the dog survived in real life!" Shut up Buggnutz. Stories based on real events change things around all the time. I'm sure the real runner carried a woman and two bikes across a fucking zipline. "The ending is a tearjerker!" Is it? Because I wasn't crying. I was tapping my foot on the floor waiting for this movie to wrap up.
Final Summation.
I can see some people liking this movie. It's a feel good piece about a dog, maybe for you that makes up for the fact that Mark Wahlberg made and stars in this movie. But I wrote in my notes "If they pull a happy ending out of their ass I'm rejecting this movie", so unfortunately my hands are tied.

it's a peaceful sleepy day in the austrian mountains
"oh, motogp's going to austria? that's sick! i follow f1 and the racing's usually pretty good in austria"
shit! piss!
to wit: the problem with the austria gp is that there's only so many corners. if you don't set up your bike right, if you can't get your riding around it, you don't have any corners to make up for it. and so, results tend to get set in stone; gaps of 3 seconds, 5 seconds are created, which in motogp terms might well be 10 years.
marc marquez had a pretty alright day in the cloudy sun
well, the saturday was disastrous. he crashed trying to catch up with pecco. some folks were a bit miffed with it: just take second place! and whatnot. i want to disagree. he is pretty much in the "if you're not first you're last" mode. what does "taking second place" do to him championship-wise, anyway? a chance to overhaul enea bastianini? i think now that bestia's come to terms a little bit with the bike, and with the gp24 clearly superior by quite a few tenths to the gp23, it would be a tall task. and, idk, what good does third place give to marc, anyway? for an 8-time world champion? a chance for gresini to get past pramac on the teams' standings? with martin's frontrunnning and morbidelli stabilizing, that also sounds like a tall task anyway.
ah hey, speaking of franky, let's actually get to the titular "pretty alright day": it opened, as any pretty alright days usually do, with a ride height device problem on the starting line. we love the ride height device :). having to start the race old style, with the wheelies and everything, he got swallowed up by the field. an extra function of the ride height device is that when it works, it makes you less agile; you can't jink to the left or right very easily. and thus, morbidelli, starting from a few rows back, with a working ride height device, got side-to-side with marc and was just, entangled. exploring each other's bodies, making garry's mod clattering noises. going wide in t1 turns a solid 3rd place qualifying into a solid p13 after the first lap.
happy news: marc's got genuine 3rd-place race pace. sad news: partly because due to his right arm being in A Condition, he's only noticeably stronger in left turns, of which austria has got a grand total of. three. (the old layout/f1 layout would've given you _two_.) and so his trek back to the front was a bit laborious, having to pass the aprilias, the ktms, and a resurgent bezzecchi (they changed the tyres for this gp with heat-treated ones, due to the heat. as a side effect, the tyres have less grip, it's easier to slide them around. the tnt commentators singled out three riders who were _happy_ with this, and they did evidently do well in the race: jack miller, marc marquez, and marco bezzecchi) (side note: get well soon fabio di giannantonio. dislocated shoulder. "dw he's gonna be back next race :)" "IS HIS BONES OKAY" and all that. at least we still get vr46 representation with bez near up front).
the adventures of rain dance hodgy
one of the highlights of the race was the tnt commentators joking about doing a rain dance for the entire race, lap after lap.
the v-word
"what about pecco" read any review of the 2023 austrian gp. if none of them is to your liking: read any review of the _2022_ austrian gp.
okay there's one thing of note i guess: despite pecco and martin both riding the current-spec gp24, pecco noticeably drives out of corners better than martin. why is that. i don't like that.
for the uninitiated: the word is "verstappen"
