My grammas having me clean out her fountain and im saving some of the larva and pupa of the mosqitos that r living in there. A lot of them died or will die but im filling a tupperware with them and the stagnant water and leaves so they can develop 👁👁 👉👈 I have a major soft spot for parasites... also the pupa are cute...

Commune with the Common Eastern Froglet

The common eastern froglet (Crinia signifera) is, as its name suggest, a widely encountered species of frog in eastern Australia, as well as the island of Tasmania. This species can be found in many habitats, including deciduous eucalyptus forests, wetlands, and agricultural and urban ponds and dams. During the dry season, froglets will also shelter under logs or leaf litter to prevent desiccation.

C. signifera is one of the smallest species of frog, reaching only 3 cm (1.2 in) in length. Most individuals are brown, but specific markings can vary widely from region to region; some have dark stripes while others take on a more mottled appearance, though generally the belly is lighter than the back and head. Because this species is largely terrestrial, they lack webbing on their toes.

Like most frogs, the common eastern froglet consumes primarily insects, especially mosqitoes, cockroaches, flies, and small spiders. In turn, the species is food for a wide variety of predators including larger frogs, fish, birds, and small rodents. Because C. signifera is active all year round, its distinctive cricket-like "Crick crick" call can be heard in every season, typically as males attempt to attract a mate, though their coloration and small size makes them difficult to find.

Under ideal conditions, C. signifera mates througout the year. Once a male has attracted a female, typically by being the loudest male in an area, he will climb on top of an inseminate her in a common position known as amplexus. Afterwards, the female will lay upwards of 200 eggs attatched to a leaf or stick at the water's surface level. Though these eggs are a popular snack for predators, it only takes about 10 days for them to hatch; afterwards, hundreds of tadpoles will occupy the water for anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months. Fully mature adults leave the water to find food and mates, but will often stay close to their original breeding ground.

Conservation status: The IUCN considers the common eastern froglet to be of Least Concern. Though the species is threatened by habitat loss, it is remarkably resilient to the chytrid fungus which has devestated so many other Anuran species.

hm... i don't want to spoil, so i'll make them menial!!

both haruka and es have eaten a plant they were not supposed to eat at some point

(es doesn't get that sick ofc but oh boy haruka gets sick)

i think. mu hates the non-pretty bugs, like mosqitoes and shit. even though she is a bug.

maybe in the future (no spoilers tho just a dynamic), es would research a random bug and tell all of it to haruka (with diagrams). he tries his best to understand (very excited about what he does). mu confused "it's not even that interesting why tf do you know about all of this? Why would you want to know all of this??" (local girl SICKENED by the amount of autism in her prescence /j)

Shidou was going from town to town to try to save people, but he decided to settle for the sake of his two (now three if he gets his way) not-his-kids.

in a classroom, i think that mu would be that annoying kid that won't stfu while the teacher's talking, haruka would talk with her, but usually be quiet, kotoko would tell them to shush even louder than they're talking, shidou would be the overly-patient teacher, and es would be the dead silent kid that somehow knows all of the material. but. they don't talk. when confronted with interaction, they would simply give a one-word answer and continue writing notes (?) (who knows if they're notes. they might be doodles. it might be the communist manifesto. nobody knows.) shidou probably has met with them after class to ask them if they're okay. they would probably say that they're okay but they won't because they would be late to their next class/they don't want to leave their guardian waiting to pick them up. so. they simply stand up and walk away.

there might be some romantic love going on with the minors but this is es who's pov we're in. everything flies straight over their head. and i'm pretty sure they're on the aro-ace spectrum somewhere but idk.

i think everyone but haruka would write in a diary with a glitter gel pen: "i'm losing my sense of humanity" (ktks would be dark red but uh it's still glittery)

Okay okay you are so handsome but as someone who works in the vet field HOW ON EARTH HAVE YOU NOT GOTTEN COVERED IN TICKS/CHIGGERS/MOSQITO BITES taking your nature pics especially the ones you do in bushes like are you a witch?!?!?

I know how to get ticks out. I have a good cream for insect bites, so mosquitoes are not that much of a big deal. And chiggers dont exist where i live.

I hike either way, even when i dont get naked and make photos, so encounters with nature's worst little creations has to happen.

Dinner date in the Swamp

A/N: Warning, mention of blood, swarms of insects, mosqitoes.

Pairing: villain x supervillain

The Villain was a vampire, simple enough to say, no need for further explanation. 

However for some reason the villain had found themself constantly being swarmed by bugs right before a hunt, specifically mosquitoes. 

Sure the villain lived in a swamp, feeding off tourists and lost travelers from time to time. 

But that didn't make much sense with them being undead and all.

Perhaps it was the fact that maybe the villain smelled like blood? Maybe.-

The Villain frowned at the high pitched whining that buzzed about their ears.

" What are you doing here this time, are you following me for an easy meal, supervillain?" The Villain had asked.

The Villain merely squinted their eyes at the mass of needle nosed pests. Truly the villain would have liked it better if they could hunt alone.

" Not very chatty tonight, are we?" The Villain had asked out loud once more.

The Villain tilted their head to one side as a chorus of mosquito whines were all they got in return. 

The villain started to second guess themself on whether or not they should have let the supervillain stay. But then again supervillains probably wouldn't have listened to them either way, at least not when they're this divided.

With a sigh of defeat the villain hung their head low as they reached their hand out like a purch, so their partner may land.

Hundreds upon hundreds of tiger mosquitoes flocked to the villain's hand and arm, and before long the villain was completely swarmed.

" You must be pretty desperate tonight, if you're being this clingy." The villain had stated with a deadpan stare.

The villain's frown deepened once more when the supervillain continued to whine.

" yes, yes I know your hungry supervillain, I'm hungry too!" the villain had said with a whine of their own. 

"Trust me supervillain I get it, believe me, one blood sucker to another, I get it." The villain said with another sigh." I'm starting to get hangry too."

The Villain triedly sighed as they servayed the murky swamp around them.

" were going to have to wait for the night tour to being, think you can wait till then?"The Villain had asked.

Once again another chores of whines filled the air, making the villain sigh once more.

 " yeah, I'm not sure I can wait much longer either." The villain had awnserd.

"Let's hope the night boat won't take long"
